What made the situation even more frustrating was being told repeatedly that I was "next" to be seen, only to watch other patients who arrived after me and had later appointment times get called back first. When I asked about it, the explanations I received from the staff were inconsistent and didn't match what I had personally observed. Rather than acknowledging the excessive wait time and poor communication, I felt like I was being given excuses. The doctor's explanation only added to my frustration and did not address the actual issue. In fact, he took an incredibly rude attitude toward me when I inquired politely about it. I understand that medical offices can run behind, but waiting over two hours more than once is unacceptable. After speaking with others in the waiting room, it was clear that I was not the only one with this experience. Patients deserve honest communication and respect for their time. Unfortunately, that was not my experience here.

Between the compound/open fracture and the other broken bones, my morning started off tragically wrong. Thankfully, Dr. Tam is more skilled than all the king's horses and all the king's men because he was able to put me back together again! Dr. Tam impressed me with his straight-forward "this is what I would do if it were me" approach. I like options, but he isn't afraid to tell you what the best option is. Before surgery, he put his hand on my shoulder and let told me, "You'll be alright." He assured me he would do his best. His tone and the warmth of a human touch comforted me. I was very impressed by his skill. This isn't his first rodeo and he is very familiar with the ins and outs of surgery. I'm pretty sure he gave me a Borg implant, take a look at the picture and tell me what you think! I hope I don't start saying, "Resistance is futile!" My fracture is not common and many doctors would not see me. I had sent my x-rays to his office at Restoration Orthopaedics, and was called the next day to come in for a consultation. Dr. Allert spent so much time explaining what was needed to get my elbow stable! He even drew pictures of the joint. I was scheduled for surgery 3 days later. He operated on my elbow in Hackensack Hospital and replaced my radial head with a titanium joint. My recovery was without pain. Dr. Allert is not only an accomplished surgeon, but he is compassionate and empathetic. He immediately put me at ease! I am now 8 weeks post-op and I have been seen every 2-4 weeks to monitor my progress. I have no restrictions with mobility at this point. I am so grateful to Dr. Allert! She's supposed to be the professional but forgot to let me know about this ? is she as good as she says if she left that whole part put when she could've told me earlier but now I'm dealing with insane back in hip pain, which could've been all avoiided is she knew but she didn't.
