Dr. Mellon abruptly retired a in 2024. I had no dentist to go to and found one after many calls. The new dentist found 10 cavities and I need two crowns = thousand of dollar worth of work that Dr. Mellon didn't seem to notice. He should have retired years ago being he has been incompetent for years it seems! You've left me in a fine mess Dr. Mellon and your staff is plain greedy! read more

I and my husband have been bad experiences when I got my routine checked that said almost all my teeth were bad and have cavities so they took an X-ray they made appointments for me to see the dentist. When I got there the dentist already getting ready to drill holes on my teeth. So I asked him to see my X-ray picture because I want to know witch tooth and he told me that I didn't look it yet so he pulled out the picture and we looked together and surprised us I had no cavity and all my tooth is healthy. he saw my tooth had a little dark spot I was had it since I was a little and I told him that. This is NOT my dentist nor would I go here after the horrible phone etiquette, or lack thereof! My daughter lives around this area and goes to Humbolt State and is under my insurance. They billed ME $490.00 for 2 teeth cleanings and I called to see why the huge bill. I called on Friday January 7, 2022 and a male answered the phone. I said "I'm calling because I received this bill and want to know why". His reply "Probably because you OWE us money"! WTF?! Um NO! I've NEVER been to your facility as I live 8 hours away. Let him know it was my daughter who when there and it was her bill. He said "Maybe you need to Communicate better with your daughter". WHO THE $^#*$ DO YOU THINK YOU ARE??? You don't even KNOW me.. I made an appointment for an exam and x-rays and asked the receptionist when I would be able to get an appointment for a teeth cleaning. I was told I could get my teeth cleaned very quickly after my exam and x-rays. I went in for my exam and x-rays and then was checking out and was told my teeth cleaning appointment would be at the end of March 2021. I mentioned that I had been told I would be seen quickly after my exam. They used COVID-19 as an excuse for being so far behind. Not only do I have to find a new dentist, the X-rays from Dr. Mellon's office are on outdated film and not digital. Good luck finding a dentist who will accept these X-rays. I am requesting a refund for this exam which I feel baited into having done and I am telling all my friends and family to find a new dentist. I would have gone to another dentist if I had been told from the beginning they are not doing new teeth cleaning appointments until the spring of 2021. These are bad business practices! I waited six months for an appointment for my whole family only to be called and told two weeks before that "oh sorry we don't take kids under 12 anymore". Said they changed the policy 5 months ago. Great thanks for sending me the paperwork confirmation to come in and anemail a month prior as a tease. I waited half a year! I could have gotten on another waiting list before then. And the gal that called me seems like a young "I don't give a crap to inconvenience you" kind of gal who needs to change her professionalism when she's telling someone about their mistake. No apology... no nothing just "hi we changed our policy a long time ago here's some other numbers". When I said "I'm sorry what? You made this policy a long time ago and didn't tell me before?" She then said "oh... hold on" and without telling me what she was doing put me on hold for 5 minutes. Said she has to answer a call when she came back and would have her manager call me- have a nice day. What a B! Hire someone better people who take ownership of inconveniencing people that much. read more

Downright the worst dentist I have ever been to. I went to this dentist almost 4 years ago, and out of the blue they're saying that I got three fillings, which I didn't, when I just went in for a cleaning. And they won't admit to their mistake. Unless you want to be charged an extra $600, this is not the guy you want working on your teeth. read more

I have been seeing Dr. Mellon for over 20 years, and have NEVER had a bad experience with him or his office staff. He is the finest dentist I have ever gone to, and is experienced with difficult problems. I have had the usual check ups, as well as root canals, crowns, and cracked teeth treated by him without any problems. Highly recommended, and a really nice guy as well. read more
