After being away from the area for a while, I used yelp to find Dr. Tipton and I couldn't be happier. She is super knowledgeable and uses some pretty advanced technology at her practice. Thanks to her use of 3D imaging equipment and in-house ceramic machine milling tools, I was able to have a crown completed in just one appointment. Watching the crown get machined and being treated like family were two unexpected gems about coming here. This was the worst experience I have ever had at a dentist. Although her staff is very nice, the office is clean and Dr. Tipton is very thorough, she has the worst bedside manner possible. I brought my daughter in , who was 5 at the time. She is loved and cared for deeply by both me and her father. I work in the field of holistic nutrititon, and am aware that our daughter has genetic risks for health issues that have been found to be related to fluoride, namely Thyroid issues, which is why we have decided to limit her expose to this chemical. There are many studies that confirm our concerns. When Dr. Tipton discovered that we choose to limit the use of fluoride on our daughter, she lost her temper and did so in front of my 5 yr old. She did not ask us why, respect our choices in health care, she just blew up, began yelling and shaking, all right infront of my child. She raised her voice and threatened to call child services on me, even though my daughter is in good health, well taken care of and loved so much by her family. I am ok if she holds her views on this controversial topic, but to blow up and accuse me of neglect, and in front of my child was so unprofessional, and it caused trauma for my daughter who now fears going to the dentist because she doesn't want 'another angry dentist' to clean her teeth or try to take her away from me. This is not a case of a kid coming in with parents who don't care, it's quit the opposite. We have consciously chosen to take a holistic approach to our daughters health for many good reasons. The other thing you will notice at this office as evidence of personal beliefs aggressively being pushed on clients is that above each dental chair are quotes from the Bible on the ceiling that you are basically forced to look at your entire appointment, which feels really disrespectful to the possible religious diversity that may exist within her client population, especially in today's world. I have no problem with the Bible, but it feels very forced to have this posted exactly where my eyes hit the ceiling when my chair is reclined. She went to school a long time ago, doesn't keep up in any current studies, seemed confused when I mention sugar reduction being benefical rather than upping the amount of flouride consumed and the fact she doesn't even recognize holistic medicine or why people may have concerns about flouride is evidence that her education is terribly slanted and out of date. If you are interested in holistic health and have any concerns about the effects of industrial chemicals in your body (she still offers Mercury fillings!) or value people who are kind in the presence of young children, this is NOT the dentist for you!! The only reason I gave a star is there is no option for no stars. read more

I am indescribably pleased with my experience! I am new to the neighborhood and had a dental emergency in which two of my crowns came off of my implants! In a panic (and a 12 hour drive away from my previous dentist), I called nearly 10 other local dentists who were unable to accommodate me before reaching out to Dr. Tiptons office. The receptionist Kay was kind and helpful and assured me she would speak with the Dr to see if they could fit me in as soon as possible. To my surprise, I received a call back in which they offered to see me that same day! The staff stayed late to assist in my dental emergency and made me feel so comfortable from the moment I walked in the door. Dr. Tipton is a fantastic dentist. I really enjoyed going in and knowing that I was going to be treated great. They only problem that I have had is with the reception. I have dental insurance and it has been a problem since day one. I have bills sent to me that were incorrect and I've to constantly call to see what was going on and the receptionist was not very much help. She constantly seems to be lost. Because of this problem, Im afraid that I'm going to have to find a different office which I'm very disappointed about. read more

Dr Tipton is a wonderful dentist, her front desk lady is delightful BUT her hygienist is a horror show. I am extremely hard of hearing & use an app that transcribes voices so I can read what they say because I can't lipread while everyone is wearing masks because of the current restrictions. Normally the doctor will raise her mask when she is talking to me so that I understand what is going on. The hygienist was clearly a person who is scared of having to deal with the public at this time & did not want to use the app on my phone. She kept talking loudly which over-amps my hearing aids & was dismissive of me & out & out rude. I walked out before my prophylaxis because I was so uncomfortable with this woman. I asked to speak to the dentist she was not available but called me later. She took my concerns seriously & I hope to see a nicer hygienist soon. read more

I needed two things. One, was to establish a new dentist, being new to area and secondly and more importantly emergent care. The staff was very polite and accommodating. The dentist saw my situation ( no insurance yet) and laid out a course of action that addressed both issued and I left knowing I had found my new dentist. read more

The office and staff were fairly friendly, and the space was clean. Nothing against Dr. Tipton, I just wouldn't go back. She misdiagnosed a tooth infection, and said I had nothing to worry about. I was in need of getting my wisdom teeth removed so I went to see her because I was experience extreme pain. After paying over $150 for 2 blurry X-rays and no medicine, she suggested I go to a surgeon for a routine removal, no need for anesthetic because the teeth were mostly surfaced. She referred me to a local surgeon, that didn't take my insurance and couldn't see me for 2 months. I decided to schedule with Western Dental in Santa Rosa, drove down the mountain for a 9 am appointment to be informed that all my teeth were impacted, one wisdom tooth was imbedded in a nerve, and the infection in my jaw was very severe. Something that needed to be done by a skilled surgeon, so basically, I paid Dr. Tipton to misdiagnose me. Just a waste of time and money. Considering the area, Dr. Tipton is not a bad dentist. But I wouldn't do more than a cleaning with her. read more

Dr. Tipton and her staff are amazing!! Every time I go in I am greeted with a smile and never wait in the waiting room long for my appointment. The dental assistants are so kind and caring and getting my teeth cleaned is always painless and fast. Dr. Tipton has such a gentle personality and really makes you feel at ease. I've been going to Dr. Tipton's office for dental care since 2007. She is one of the best dentists in the area. My teeth and gums have gotten so much better, with their guidance on home care. It's almost a pleasure to have Cindy clean my teeth! She is efficient and gentle. read more

Best dentist experience I've ever had. I've always get anxious and nervous when the time comes for a dentist visit. I had only just moved to the area for school and when one of my fillings fell out while flossing and I swear I had a mini heart attack! I called around to different dentists I had found on yelp but they wouldn't be able to get me in for a couple of months. Yikes. Then I found Dr. Tipton's office and decided to just take a chance and it was the best choice I could have ever made! The staff was so friendly and accommodating, I felt right at home.The nervousness of being at the dentist was still there initially, but it vanished once I met Dr. Tipton. Both her and the other staff workers were so kind and Dr. Tipton made sure to let me know what she was doing while giving my a new filling so I wouldn't be surprised with anything. Since that last emergency, I have made Dr.Tipton my new dentist! read more
