We have driven past this restaurant so many times and I had always wa ted to try it. Finally, yesterday, we did. I am so glad, too. I had the 2 meat plate with ribs and turkey, beans and Mac and cheese. It was incredible! The sweet sauce is to die for, the ribs melted right off the bone, and the beans were so flavorful! I said I wasn't going to come back for a while because last time wasn't so great and so it's been a year for me, but my kids have eaten here a few times since. They convinced me to try it again and I'm really glad I did because everything was great! Service was still a little meh but the food when it came out was awesome! Large portions and delicious! We went here for dinner and the brisket is delicious. It seems the plate had 3 pieces of brisket, so if you want more meat I recommend the sandwich or a double plate. The ambiance was nice. Looks like they tried to remodel the place and it looks nice. There looks to be a bar but didn't see it. The service was good. Down to earth girls. Very helpful when it came to ordering. The food was good. We were from out of town and this was recommended. I wanted the cattleman's burger but didn't realize it was 2 Pattie's, thank goodness for the waitress asking me "are you hungry!?" I was like, why in the heck is she asking me that.. it dawned on me... wait is it 2 Pattie's? She said yes.. I said oh no, she changed it to a cheeseburger w what I wanted. Fries were sooo good. Perfect fries. The sad thing though was that my co-worker ordered the Turkey sandwich which she liked but was disappointed that the Turkey was sliced deli meat. Finally came time to try this place that I've seen on the corner of Main & Camino del llano for some time now. First, I would like to say, I was welcomed right away and was told to wait for just a minute. As the girl left and another person came back who said hello and saw I had my dog with me, asked if I would like to be seated inside or outside. I said inside. Waitress came right over, asked if I would like something to drink. Got my favorite, sweet tea and lemonade. She gave me a few min, came back and I order an appetizer. Deep fried pickles with spicy ranch...batter is a little salty for my taste but good, portion was also big. Menu has good selection, kids menu was only 2 choices but I'm sure with the other selections they could have small portions to suit. I ordered the baked potato with butter, pork, shredded cheese, sour cream and sweet BBQ. sauce. Potato was big, lots of pork, plenty of sour cream but, not much cheese. So that was disappointing. It was tasty and the BBQ sauce has a vinegar taste which it not my favorite but, it was good. BBQ pork was good, moist and not dry and had some good fat flavor. We drove from Bosque Farms after reading the reviews, and wanted to try. major disappointment..Their website advertises a full bar . Not only was there not a full bar but only a handful of bottled beer yet their dining room was decorated with growlers. My date ordered the brisket platter which was basically a platter of French fries and green beans with two very small pieces of meat ( when asked about the small portion of meat the waitress said they weigh out a 1/4 lb) I ordered the hamburger and after talking one bite , sent it back. We both agreed the meat tasted old. The ever rolled her eyes at me when I requested another meal, a major turn off! We won't be back, truly was such a disappointment read more

Not so sure I would call this BBQ, we wanted to try a small local spot to support but should have saved the money as this was a big disappointment. Ordered the sampler, turkey, pulled pork X2 beans, coleslaw; then a pound of brisket and potato salad. The turkey looked and tasted like the prepackaged sliced mesquite deli turkey; pulled pork and brisket had very little "smoked" flavor. The sides were disappointing as well. The fried pickles were ok, perhaps some of the items would have tasted better if we had eaten there but smoked meat should taste like smoked meat regardless if eaten right away or 20 minutes later until we got home. I hope this was a fluke since you have pretty good reviews, but I wouldn't recommend nor will I return. read more

We were on our way home from spending the afternoon at the Ladd Gordon Waterfowl Complex and decided to look for some takeout BBQ. Thanks to Yelp, we found Greg's BBQ in Belen, and are we glad we did! I had the brisket plate with macaroni and cheese and fries with the sweet sauce. Everything was fantastic; the meat was smoked to perfection and the fries were just the way I like them. The mac and cheese was really tasty, but I think I would ask for a side of the vegetable next time since it was a lot of carbs. There were enough leftovers for breakfast the next day, too. Speaking of the vegetable, my husband ordered the chicken fried steak plate, which comes with cream gravy, mashed potatoes, and what dh describes as the best green beans he's ever eaten at any restaurant. They were tender-crisp with a nice smoky flavor. He shared a bite and I would have happily eaten the whole portion. The only quibble he had was with the mashed potatoes. At first, he wasn't sure they were in the takeout box because all he could find was gravy. Eventually, he figured out that they were there, but they had the consistency of instant mashed potatoes and were pretty watery. We're planning a visit to Sevilleta National Wildlife Refuge and are already looking forward to enjoying Greg's delicious BBQ again. read more

Not from the area was looking for a good barbecue place looked up on this app could not find any barbecue places I was surprised. Drove by this place and decided to give it a try was not disappointed. I ordered a loaded baked potato with brisket on it. The brisket was really moist and tasty nice. I tried all three barbecue sauces all we're good From a traditional barbecue sauce to a sweet spicy and a spicy barbecue. I had the best interaction with the employees and owner of that work there. Way to go to hitting it out of park for customer service. Most definitely need some wood in the fire there was no smoke flavor in the meat I repeat no smoked flavor in the meat. Mashed potatoes had no flavor and the texture is a gooey fluff with an onion flavored gravy,do not order. The green beans and fries are on point, very good well flavored.
