I called Greg's Heating and Air for two reasons. They had great reviews on Yelp, and they were located nearby my home. In short, my service was 100% excellent and I would highly recommend them. Specifically, Greg himself answered the phone. He explained to me that his other employees were unavailable so he would help me himself. Greg inquired about my AC issue and gave me feedback over the phone. He came to my house that same day to assess my repair needs. After a brief assessment, he discovered the problem. He explained to me what was wrong, and what my options were for repair. He even researched my system to find if it was still under warranty. He came back the next morning with the exact part for my system, explaining that the manufacturer's recommendation was the best way to go because other 'knock-off' parts are inefficient and can cause other problems. He replaced the part incredibly quickly. He talked to me with respect and in detail, not condescendingly. He also gave me a few tips for how to optimize the efficiency of the system myself. He didn't try to up-sell me. I could tell that the man really knew his way around HVAC just by the way he carried himself. I cannot say enough good about him. Had the absolute greatest experience with Greg's Heating and Air today. A/C was not cooling, resulting in an internal temperature towards the 90s! It's late August in Texas and you know with temps in the 100s for back-to-back days, having no A/C would be like not having oxygen. Upon my submitting a request for service, I got a prompt response back (less than 10 minutes) from Greg with his ETA and it worked out perfectly for me and my schedule. I'm no A/C expert but I knew the system with my house is an older unit. Greg knew EXACTLY what to do with it and resolved my issue as well as gave some recommendations for the future (which I will definitely follow through on). I would come to find that Greg has many many years of experience in the industry. From the get go, he was very professional, honest, and friendly. No fluff or hassles from him whatsoever. I have a large, older, double wide. Old windows, doors don't seal great. Greg was extremely knowledgeable and professional with his explanations while maintaining a likeable "buddy" quality. He worked quickly and initially did only what was required to get me up and running. Once done we discussed the options for more efficiently cooling my home. Executing that plan was straight forward, affordable and effective. Yesterday the temp outside was 110* and my house stayed at 77*, with the same old windows and not so sealing doors, and my electric bill dropped. He's a wizard. I scheduled my A/C yearly maintenance a week ago, and Isaac texted before he arrived on the scheduled day. He was profession and articulate about the process and explained everything well. Our upstairs AC unit was out. I called the company that had installed the unit and they told me several things were wrong, it would cost thousands of dollars to fix and suggested I get a new unit. So I call Greg's heating and air for a second opinion. Bryan diagnosed the problem, explained what was wrong and gave us an estimate. Greg called a few hours later to let us know that the part needed was still under warranty. They ordered the part and had it install a few days later. The total cost was under one thousand dollars. My AC started blowing warm air and the fan continuously ran. I called Gregg's late in the day and they were able to get a Tech to come out immediately. the Tech was courteous and very knowledgeable. he knew what the probably was very quickly and replaced the capacitor on the spot. the Tech was honest and explained everything he was doing and why. These guys are honest and knowledgeable. Got a bid from another HVAC at $4400 to do repairs and Issac came in and said why would you do all that. He cleaned out a line and it works great for $145. Had another problem later and Isaac and Greg showed up and got me running perfectly. Somehow one of the baffles got set to full open and it was freezing the system. Love Greg's integrity. read more
