It was pretty good. We had our department's Christmas party here and it was better than I thought it was gonna be. The service is good, the food even better. I ordered the Ruben and fries. Actually delicious. I sat on the restaurant side. We were there for about 4 hours. I did leave smelling like cigarette smoke. It was pretty bad. And horrible for a non smoker. The bathroom is decent. So, it was Friday late afternoon. Family and I for once had nothing to do, and we were hungry. Traditionally, we are not the bar scene type. I've been in Schererville for 2 years now. We have heard a lot of great things about Greg's Place by the P.D. and court house. So, as we drove by, we decided to stop and check it out. We were greeted warmly by the bartender. We said we came in for dinner. He directed us to the restaurant. Was still a little early, so we were the first ones there. Tiffany, an awesome lady, was our hostess. We ordered tacos. chicken sandwich. And a rueben. Everything was sooo good, and the portions were great. Speaking with Tiffany she gave us a rundown on the Town, the events at Greg's Place. Bands, karaoke and DJs that play on the weekends. On Thutsday they have Bingo. Overall, this is an extremely nice neighborhood place to hang out. We will be back, especially for the bands and dancing! Greg's Place is a must visit if passing through Schererville or if you haven't yet as a resident. Highly recommended by our family. This is a nice little dive bar hidden away on a side street in Schererville, Indiana. While I think it has changed hands a number of times, this iteration is pretty nice. As you walk in you are on the bar side - a nice long bar taking up the left side of the room flanked by a number of tables on the other side. Toward the back you'll see a breezeway on your right to the room on the other side of the wall and this is the dining room. Since they have smoking on the bar side of this establishment, you may be more comfortable on the dining room side. The food was good, being mostly pub grub and dive bar fried food, but it was fresh made and served up by a chipper waitstaff. Since they have a bar, they offer all the normal alcoholic drinks you may desire ... but we thought the on-draft beer was a step above. I am sure you can get wine offerings, but it is really a beer kind of place. Next time you are out this way or happen by give this place a try. read more

Our Croation/Macedonian friends found that they have a secret menu with bbq lamb and Serbian sausages so we went there to check it out. The waitress 'Sophia', the only waitress on Sunday, was great. She was honest about food that she didn't like and was fun. The owner came over and talked to us for quite a while. I got a breaded tenderloin sandwich and Sharon got a grilled cheese with ham. They have a nice salad bar that comes with the sandwiches, which I love. Our friend 'Baby Billy' Hero really dug the lamb and Di likes the Serbian sausages. Great place. Lots of fun ,good people. Karaoke going on most of the time. Only thing I was disappointed was. Coming from Chicago stop by Greg's Saturday night about 1:00am. The doors where locked already. Most of the time place is open till 2 -3 am. read more
