    The Lamb and roasted chicken
    John M.

To start things off and to give you some perspective as to who is writing this. I'm just a beer drinkin, burger eatin Bears fan. My wife and I are the owners of Petals Boutique Flowers in Dyer and our Amazing staff gifted us a gift certificate and here we are. The atmosphere, service, staff and food were fantastic . I had the Lamb which did not disappoint and my better half had the Roasted Chicken which she felt was a little small. Our server was Amanda and she was very pleasant. They do NOT accept cash! And we made a reservation just in case. We both loved the food and experiencing a craft kitchen locally for the first time was a good experience. Definitely will return but check availability if you have children. I believe after a certain time it becomes a 21+ only.

Our server Justice gave us the background of the restaurant and Chef which we enjoyed. He was very attentive and gave us recommendations! The food was so flavorful we both enjoyed the new menu and will be back soon! Loved the Tom Ollie it was full of flavor I wanted more! Amazed they were able to get this open so quickly as an interior designed enjoyed the atmosphere and design of the space! Gave me the Fulton Market Chicago high end restaurant warm and cozy ambiance.

    The Haus

I've been here a few times now. First visit was brunch. We sat in the dining room area. Service was good and attentive. The server took the time to point out certain dishes, and note that the shrimp and grits would be spicy. We were kind of disappointed that there's no draft beer menu, but the server was able to provide the info. Pretty much a five star visit. Second time: Especially at the start of our visit, service left something to be desired. Sure, we arrived around 9, but they're open until 10. We just wanted snacks and cocktails. We were seated at a low table near the bar. It took so long for the bartender to stop by that she said she'd keep the kitchen open because it wasn't our fault. From there? Everything was great. We had the pork belly appetizer and pistachio pesto pizza. Each had a few drinks. Chatted with our bartender/server. Very positive experience that we've shared with everyone we know. Probably five stars again because of the bartender. Third visit: Arrived at 8:45, they close at 10. Sat at the bar. Greetings and a menu arrived promptly, so that was a positive compared to our last visit. But that's where it ended for me. No written beer menu still, some staff members know what's on tap, others have no clue. Whatever. We order drinks and food. As we enjoy our drinks, food arrives. Had to flag someone down for a spoon to eat Ramen. Eating Ramen with a regular soup spoon and a fork, while not conventional, is doable I guess. The Ramen was very spicy. Good, but surprising more spicy than expected. The Haus burger was pretty good. But, the fries were terrible. Soggy and overly hot like they were reheated in some way. Absolutely horrible. Maybe like battered fries from Long John Silvers also at 9pm. Except there's no $6 basket at the drive thru to offset the quality. If they came with ketchup to drown them in maybe that would have helped. Once we had completely finished our food the bartender came to ask if we wanted another drink. I saw no reason to continue to occupy any space, and help to make sure the staff too could walk out the door by 10. Maybe I'll try it again. It won't be anywhere near a first choice. Definitely not soon.

Their standard menu does not feature their vegan options, so we had to wait for the waitress to come back around again to ask for this. Unfortunately, the Vegan Chicken Breast was crossed off, so I'm not sure if that will be coming back. I went with the Vegan Reuben, a reliable standard, but it was terribly disappointing. It prompted me to pull up my photos from our previous dining experience there, and the sandwich looks so much more unappetizing. The current sandwich is wet, pale, and oddly sweet. The color and texture are so different, so I'm not sure what they've changed from their original recipe.

Luckily it also has its own parking lot and finding parking was easy. The menus you can order from both restaurants and have similarities, which is interesting such as the calamari, which is the appetizer we ordered. Interestingly, enough, the calamari is priced differently on both menus depending on which one you look at with a difference of three dollars. Overall, the food portions were very good. They also have some specials. The menu is very straightforward and luckily for us carnivores had a lot of choices. Service was very friendly and kind and the food came out very quickly. The bread service is a little bit off. They probably could actually serve you the olive oil with the cheese and the pepper so that you could actually dip it more for your bread. I do wish the calamari came with legs not just rings. The steak was perfectly cooked and the fries were delicious as well. The barbecue special that my friend ordered did not disappoint. We both absolutely cleaned up our plates and did not have room for dessert. This is definitely spot if you're in the area to check out great fun ambience. It wasn't too packed or busy and the food is very straightforward and tasty.

The it had good flavor and the sauce that came with it was light. The shrimp fried rice for $11 was enough for two people. It had at least six large shrimp in the rice. The only thing I think could've made it better would be some peas. Love the Godzilla roll. Shared it with my lunch date. I know it adds flare to the role when the shrimp tales are sticking out the end but, it makes it difficult to eat. The ginger was good. The wasabi could've been a little bit hotter. We got seated right away and didn't have to wait long for a server to take our order. They did a good job of making this an Asian restaurant since it was a brewpub before. I will be back to try some other rolls and maybe the house fried rice, which has shrimp, chicken, and steak.

I ordered the vegetable gyzo, Godzilla roll, & shrimp fried rice to share with my husband. Each dish came out individually & quickly. Beautiful presentation. Absolutely loved the Godzilla roll. The vege gyzo was perfectly soft & not chewy. Very good. The shrimp fried rice was huge. Nice sized shrimp. It was very salty though. Tasted like there was a lot of fish sauce in it possibly. Still tasty. The menu is extensive with a large cocktail & sake selection also. Prices are very reasonable. Our lunch was $36.38 without the tip.
