We had no reservation, but the host still seated us. Our server gave us a proper rundown of the restaurant. Details on the owner being former military, Delilah's chicken being named after his daughter, and even having a bacon infused bourbon old fashioned. The ambiance was lively but also intimate. Modern and stylish. But the main event was the food. You can tell the owner Jay took his time with the menu. Every item seemed to have specific ingredients that took it to the next level. We ordered the smoked Gouda + short rib pizza, Delilah's chicken, and the coffee rubbed ribeye. Absolutely fantastic! I even ordered an extra pizza because I wanted my wife to try it when I got home! My husband surprised me with dinner for my birthday. There were 6 of us and I called on Wednesday for a Saturday reservation. My request was for a nonalcoholic wine (provided 1bottle each of red and white Sutter Home Fre`) and asked for a specific server. Chef agreed to both. When we arrived we did not have my requested server. The waitress said we were at the "VIP Table" and it was in her section. I did not want whatever their idea of a VIP Table is and I didn't care. My requested server had the section next to where we were waiting on non-VIPs I guess. The waitress was fine - friendly and gor all orders right. The menu at Lincoln and Wicker is... odd. From soup, salad, sandwiches to entrees it is all over the place. I can't figure out if they are going for Cajun or fine dining or sandwiches and probably won't try to figure it out. 3rd visit and probably my last. My husband loves the food, especially the octopus. The restaurant is lovely. A bit loud but there is soft lighting and tablecloths. The time before this we were in the back next to the rear door which people used to exit. It was freezing outside so our food cooled quickly. Ask for a table away from the back door. I met friends here on a weeknight at 4:30. By 5:30, this place was hopping. Glad we made a reservation. First of all, beautiful place. Great decor & ambiance. The server was very knowledgeable with the menu & the background of the chef/owner. Nice selection of cocktails & alcohol. None of us ordered drinks though. We didn't get any appetizers either. As a vegetarian, I will say their menu is VERY limited. Most everything has bacon/pork added. The mushroom pizza had prosciutto. I'm sure you can get it without, but I don't like to pay for ingredients I'm not getting. My friend said it was tasty. I ordered the fig salad, it was delicious. The dressing was light & tossed perfectly. Perfect amount of cheese & fig ratio. My other friend got the chicken sandwich. She said it was messy, a little difficult to eat, but great. We didn't get any dessert. They looked really good, so maybe next time. The prices were ok, although my salad was $2 less than the chicken sandwich. Even though it looks big, the bowl was shallow. For $15, I thought it could come with a piece of bread or something. The owner came by the table & was very nice & funny. Although we felt kind of awkward for not having drinks when he joked about why there weren't any drinks on the table. "Dry January" he said. One thing about the restroom. The doors had the hooks taken off the back of the doors, with no where to put your purse or coat. Also, the stalls were not very clean. Cute restroom, but I expected somewhere to put my belongings at a place like this. I'm looking forward to trying again & hoping for another vegetarian option next time since they will be changing menu seasonally. This business took over another fantastic business that was here a couple months ago. We went here in early February. Yes was crowded but the service was slow and the hostess were snarley and rude. To top it off the prices are RIDICULOUSLY high for sub par sandwiches and burger, truffling? Really. Tasted like crap. PLUS you don't get real ketchup and it costs extra! A few others in our group ordered the pizza. Gawd, was awful! They gave me a piece. Was like a rock. The service awful! You can buy a better tasting frozen pizza at the grocery store. Maybe you can OVERCHARGE Chicagoans for sub par food, but in our State we demand excellent food, service and high quality edible food. THIS PLACE should be closed down. NOT recommended. My wife and I are the owners of Petals Boutique Flowers in Dyer and our Amazing staff gifted us a gift certificate and here we are. The atmosphere, service, staff and food were fantastic . I had the Lamb which did not disappoint and my better half had the Roasted Chicken which she felt was a little small. Our server was Amanda and she was very pleasant. They do NOT accept cash! And we made a reservation just in case. We both loved the food and experiencing a craft kitchen locally for the first time was a good experience. Don't bring your kids, I guess! Pro tip: if your restaurant magically transforms from "21+" to "family friendly" at 3:00 pm, you should probably put that on your front door. It's 9 degrees outside. We drive there and show up at 2:30, door open, kids in tow, and were flatly told to leave because brunch was 21+ and from 11-2 (even though we were there after 2???) Being turned away is one thing. Being talked down to afterward by the owner, who smugly explained how we technically failed to pass their age-requirement internet scavenger hunt, is another. Hospitality shouldn't require reading their website and then cross-referencing Google comments to understand who's allowed inside on a Saturday afternoon. The oh-so-important brunch? A ghost town. Only two tables had people at them. Been here a few times now. My husband and I used to frequent burgerhaus which was previously in this location. The decor is the same except they put up curtains, art, and use zone lighting rather than overhead for a better ambiance. It's nice. The muhamarra appetizer is crave worthy and the cocktails are excellent. However the beer menu is very limited and they do not substitute proteins. I find the no substitution policy massively annoying - they let you add chicken to your salad but I asked if they could sub chicken instead of beef on the burgers and was told no. I only eat poultry, no beef or pork so the menu is pretty limited. We would visit more if that wasn't the case. read more

I've been here a few times now. First visit was brunch. We sat in the dining room area. Service was good and attentive. The server took the time to point out certain dishes, and note that the shrimp and grits would be spicy. We were seated at a low table near the bar. It took so long for the bartender to stop by that she said she'd keep the kitchen open because it wasn't our fault. From there? Everything was great. We had the pork belly appetizer and pistachio pesto pizza. Each had a few drinks. Chatted with our bartender/server. Very positive experience that we've shared with everyone we know. Probably five stars again because of the bartender. Third visit: Arrived at 8:45, they close at 10. Sat at the bar. Greetings and a menu arrived promptly, so that was a positive compared to our last visit. But that's where it ended for me. No written beer menu still, some staff members know what's on tap, others have no clue. Whatever. We order drinks and food. As we enjoy our drinks, food arrives. Had to flag someone down for a spoon to eat Ramen. Eating Ramen with a regular soup spoon and a fork, while not conventional, is doable I guess. The Ramen was very spicy. Good, but surprising more spicy than expected. The Haus burger was pretty good. But, the fries were terrible. Soggy and overly hot like they were reheated in some way. Absolutely horrible. Maybe like battered fries from Long John Silvers also at 9pm. Except there's no $6 basket at the drive thru to offset the quality. If they came with ketchup to drown them in maybe that would have helped. Once we had completely finished our food the bartender came to ask if we wanted another drink. I saw no reason to continue to occupy any space, and help to make sure the staff too could walk out the door by 10. Maybe I'll try it again. It won't be anywhere near a first choice. My husband and I decided to have an impromptu date night this past Wednesday, March 11th. He suggested we try this new restaurant, since we are attempting to try new and local businesses. We went after work, and it was a casual day for me, so I was wearing jeans and my school tee shirt. I felt a bit underdressed when I walked in, but we were greeted by a friendly hostess who sat us immediately. Our waitress Amanda came over and gave us a thorough description of this place as well as the menu. She was very helpful and friendly and willing to answer any questions we may have had. We each ordered the 2 burgers they offer. My husband ordered the L&W smash burger, and I ordered the About Thyme smash burger. These are NOT your average burgers. My husband's burger actually had foie gras on it! He found it very good. Mine had sauteed leaks and shallots, a change from usual grilled onions that a lot of places use, white American cheese (I think) and a thyme aioli. It was sooo cheesy and good! Both smash burgers had those crispy edges as well and came with house made fries that were very crispy. Amanda offered their homemade ketchup which was very good and a little different tasting than your standard Heinz ketchup. The menu is small and they do not substitute ingredients, but they will honor if you want something taken off. There is also no salt and pepper on the table, as Amanda said that the chef believes strongly in his food, that it doesn't require any additional seasonings; I agree. While I did feel underdressed, I would like to come back for a date night and try some of their other entrees like their pizza. The food is high quality, and I actually think the price point is worth it, for the quality you are getting. Our bill came to around $45, that is without drinks. We just ordered water. If you are looking for a new place to try that takes care of their customers and their food, then try this place. read more

My Wife and I have been to Lincoln & Wicker many times, and it has consistently delivered across the board. The menu is creative without being overcomplicated, and everything I've tried has been executed extremely well. Standouts for me include the Baked Brie, with honey and green apples, and the "Everyday I'm Truffling burger"-- a unique and very good burger. The Truffle Crème pizza is indulgent in the best way, while the Steak Frites is classic, flavorful, and cooked exactly right. Dishes like the Curry Ramen and Wild Boar Chops, were thoughtfully prepared. Presentation is consistently great, and the service is outstanding. It's clear the chef and the staff take pride in both the food and the guest experience. The Old Fashion and the Volstead Fizz are great. One of the things I really appreciate about this place is seeing the chef come out of the kitchen to personally check in with customers. That level of engagement says a lot about the pride and care that goes into the food and the overall experience. He makes you feel like your family. Today we ordered the octopus appetizer and it was extremely tough. We do not like to complain but we did express this to the server and she apologized but that's as far as that went. Met up with a friend about a month ago. Had reservations, showed up and the place was packed. We got in within 10 minutes, receptionist staff was overwhelmed and not too friendly. Our waitress was nice, busy and I 100% got the vibe from her by the things she said that the chef watches the waitstaff and critiques them. I did not like that. Chef was hanging around at the bar afterward and seems like one that should have a restaurant in downtown Chicago but has one in NW Indiana. Menu should have more normal options as to what to eat.
