My family and I love Danny Z's. Including all the servers. Great variety you don't have to order the same stuff over a lot to choose from.

My brother and I hosted our uncle and aunt here...one of their fave places; Aunt's had joint replacement so deserves a little extra forebearance entering and sitting. which they afforded her. Business declining The hostesses were clueless tables and booths open and the line was ten deep. Worst dining experience Margarita Pizza it was not ! No sauce no buffalo Mozzarella. Spicy shrimp pasta was salty and no flavor. But it didn't beat the tour of Italy platter for flavor, dry, bland, couldn't believe it was that bad. I have been to Danny Z's few times since I moved back to the Region.Beyond that their pizza is topnotch, their customer service is outstanding. While dining there recently, my partner and a friend shared a pizza. After tasting it, they discovered that it was lukewarm, at best. We mentioned this other our server, Marisa, who removed it immediately. Within a minute, the floor manager was at our table, apologizing for the miscue, explaining what probably happened. He generously offered us a couple of options for remedying the situation, which was a great touch. Then the owner's daughter stopped over, and couldn't have been more helpful. They ended up making things right on a level I wouldn't have expected. Marisa even separated our respective to-go packages in separate bags. My family organized a surprise party here and I was so impressed by the service and food. The space is large and inviting, and every server tending to the party was just an angel. I don't know what was so special about the Italian dressing but I literally had 4 helpings of salad, it was that good. The beer selection is off the hook, and the draft lists rotating on the TVs was really awesome and environmentally friendly. The whole experience gave my uncle a great 70th birthday. Been going to Danny Zs for a long time, we were there Tuesday, April 14, 2026. No complaints about the food, you really cant go wrong. However, this visit I was a little disappointed with my drink. The drink itself (raspberry lemonade spritzer) was delicious! It was the size of the drink, my wife got her chardonnay in a decent little wine glass, problem is, mine was served in the same glass. I never mind paying for something worth while. Between the size of the glass and the ice, not much to enjoy, not to mention was little on the weak side. Sorry have to vent...was at Dante's/Dan y Z's in Munster today. Thre elderly gentlemen were getting ready to leave. They were in a spot where they needed help since one had a walker. Well they had an issue coming down the steps making one of them drop his leftovers. The only male server walked right past and did not offer any assistance while watching them struggle. Needless to say I was furious. The hostess finally jumped in to help but had to throw out the man's leftovers out due to it opening and hitting the floor. Wanted to try something new and I am glad we stopped. Must have driven by this place hundreds of times and never stopped. The place was crowded but found a table by the bar. They have plenty of beer options plus a full bar. The menu is large. I had the California burger which was excellent. The girlfriend had the Mac and cheese with pulled pork and it was phenomenal. It was like a sweet bbq sauce mixed with cheese. Really good. Overall could be a new place to hit on a regular basis. Plus the free popcorn always helps. read more

Went to this restaurant last night with my wife and our friends and we had a great meal. My wife and I shared the pike Alaskan Pike, which we had a choice of getting it fried or sautéed. I chose fried it came with some delicious garlic, green beans, and a salad Salad was good, but it was my least favorite kind of lettuce it was iceberg and the pike was good. I used cocktail sauce with it, and the green beans were outstanding. We topped it off with a piece of their fudgy wedgy cake, which is a fudge chocolate, dark cake, and coffee. Our friends had a chicken dish and two small white castle, sized hamburgers, and they loved it. Everything was great. The server was terrific so it's an easy four star. read more

Nice restaurant with good bar food. So why only 3 stars? They don't have that one item on the menu that they do better than most other places. Their pizza is probably the closest thing. Also, they struggle to find good servers. For as long as they have been open, they have had some of the worst servers, from forgetting refills to having long wait times to get/pay your bill. It's mostly a Bud Light / Miller Light type bar. They usually have a number of beer choices, but rarely good ones. Great atmosphere and plenty of TVs. read more

This place is seriously lacking some intelligence and customer service. I went there to watch the Colts but they could not be convinced to change one single TV to the Colts game (only 20-30 TVs in the place and not even half full). The other 2 times I had been there when the Bears game was on, they were able to change a TV to the Colts game. However, last Sunday because there were "so many different games on" (same as every Sunday, actually one less because the Bears played at 830 AM), all they could offer me was a 40" TV split into 6 different games. I am not sure if you have ever watched 6 games on one TV but you can't even tell who the teams are. After I was given the pathetic reasoning I went to another bar in IL as apparently you need to go to IL to watch the Indianapolis Colts. Try Customer Service and you might get customers that actually want to come back. read more

Went to this place last night for some dinner around 10 PM walked in and was waited to get seated many open tables no waitress for about six minutes. Again didn't mind I know people are busy so we sat and waited. Just for the owner who was sitting in front of us eating dinner to tell us 15 minutes later "what are you guys waiting for". And we tell him we're waiting to get seated so that he calls a waitress over for the waitress to tell us they're not sitting anymore people for tonight and there's no cooks,, even though they close at 1:15 AM. It's not about we weren't able to eat there. It's about the principal how the owner seen us waiting for so long, and didn't want to tell us himself. This was so ugly and I don't recommend this establishment. There's many other bar and grills in the area way better ended up eating somewhere else last night... read more

I haven't been to Danny Z's in years. Growing up in Munster it was a local favorite. But they have really turned things around aesthetically in there! It looks amazing! We came in for a few beers and some pizza which were fantastic. The beer, in my dad's words, is the coldest beer in the area. He legit goes for the cold beer lol. The bartenders were very sweet and everyone greeted us with a smiling face! I will definitely be back! read more

Went to Dante's House of Pizza/Danny Z's today and omg the buffalo chicken pizza was delicious. Came in around 4:30p on Friday and while they were already busy, I was able to be seated right away. The waiter took my order within 3 minutes of me sitting down. I felt like it was a bit of a wait on the pizza but likely it was because my phone died and I had nothing to do but wait lol. Either way, I plan on returning. Staff was friendly, prices were good, and food was great. read more

This store has done a great job refurbishing what was a very tired looking place. The atmosphere is inviting and the hostess is always welcoming. They have a good beer selection and the food is pretty good. My review is of the service...I've been there 4 times with 4 different servers. Twice at the bar and twice at a high top in the bar. All four times were unacceptably slow and inattentive. At the high tops service as mentioned was slow and I had get up to find my server. Both at the high top and bar I've had to ask the bus person to help me pay. Last night at the bar I ordered a drink and was going to order food. But I literally could not get her attention to order food. It was really odd. So I finally wanted to leave once I finished my drink. But she was chatting with other servers near the kitchen. I think they have a good thing here...but they definitely need oversight in the bar. read more

Overall this is a nice place that could be far better. Great service and the food is about average (used to be better). The ambiance could be fantastic, but is severely compromised by two things. The worst thing is the "main table" where the owner and all of his "wannabe" friends sit - I've never been to such a place with such a display of "the best" and "the rest". It really turns my stomach and makes me want to stay away. What the hell is the owner thinking? Secondly, it's far too loud. In fact, the noise level is out of control - it's difficult to have a conversation with the person next to you. Danny Z's should invest a few dollars and install some architectural noise baffles. The cavernous ceiling is very appealing, but it amplifies the sound to an aggravating level. Overall, Danny needs to take a step back and make an objective view of all these issues. The place could be so much better. He needs to have his "wannabe" friends sit at other tables and let the average customers sit at his "throne". read more

Great food and wonderful service but the delivery guy was rude, took over 1 and 45 minutes to get my order and it was cold. The driver in a red car didn't even ask for a signature on my charged order. I had called 45 minutes before it finally arrived only to be told he'd been out to deliver it 20 minutes earlier. I tried again the following week with same issue from the same delivery guy. they need better drivers because I do enjoy the food when it's warm and fresh. read more

There isn't much nightlife in this area but this plus does the job when needed. I'm not in the area too often but if I am Danny Z's is the place to go. It's never too crowded and the place is spacious enough to host a large crowd of that is the case. The drink specials are really good, especially compared to the Chicago prices I am used to. I haven't tried any cocktails here, just mainly beer. I also haven't tried the food yet which I hear isn't bad so I might have to when I'm back in the area. read more

You know, I've been driving by Danny Z's for a year and a half and didn't want to give it a chance. It doesn't look like much on the outside (because, really, most sports bars in NWI strip malls don't look like much from the outside), but I was happily surprised. The ambience inside is nice, the food and service were excellent, and they also had a decent draft list. I was happily surprised that they had two vegetarian sandwich options--something that I've found to be a rarity in these parts. Also: lots of TVs for watching whatever game happens to be on at the moment, though yesterday they were playing music, not the audio from Finals Game 4. Perhaps that's different when one of our Chicago teams is on the big screen. I should have come in sooner, and will again! read more

Love the small changes made under new management! Keep up the great work! :) I love visiting this bar and seeing old friends and family every time I am in town! They have added things like more live music, but are keeping it extremely clean and classic. Great for families, and the bar crowd. LOVE that it has entirely gone smoke free! I honestly believe that this bar will continue to hold onto its essence as a family friendly bar that caters to its Munster community! I am seriously confused why this place has good reviews. I don't have one good thing to say about this place. Gone twice, left unhappy both times. The worst part is the food. The waitress recommended the Cuban sandwich. It was probably one of the worst sandwiches I have ever had. I had the grilled chicken the next time, (safer option). Still average. The only good thing about this place is full bar. Great place if you wanna get fucked up, and watch overweight, has been high school football players, reminisce about there glory days while there pregnant wife's are smoking menthols outside. Don't come here. The gigantic letters on the outside saying, "beer here" should be enough of a warning! read more
