I really like this wine bar. It's a little dark and moody inside, which is fine for the vibe. I appreciate the amount of different wines available by the glass which always includes some unique varietals you're unlikely to see outside of a wine bar setting. Service is usually fine, but not standout. I think I've enjoyed every glass I have ever had here. It's a good spot for a girls' night or date night. I've also tried their charcuterie board, which was a good portion and had really nice meats and cheeses. read more

A round of applause for me... I'm finally a LOCAL and THE LOCAL! So happy about it. This is my absolute FAVORITE happy hour spot. You seriously can't beat it. Ben, the gm, is always so nice and welcoming and greets us every time we walk in. Last time I was here, I stayed for a while with some friends. It's a smaller spot, but they do have a little bit more extended patio seating into The District. The menu is limited in terms of food, but when you have wine, really all you need is a charcuterie board, and they have such a good selection for that. I always do that four choice and switch it up. They also have a really good happy hour until 6pm daily. I've also come in here and brought my laptop to work, too, which I'm looking forward to doing again when the weather gets a little warmer. We've made coming here a weekly thing because it's the best. Highly recommend supporting this local spot! read more

Popped in for quick bourbon and beer. Nice spot in the district. Sat at the bar which had a tv with a split screen for patrons to enjoy sports. There's also a sitting room connected with tables and seating. Service was standard, nothing over the top but nothing bad. Such a great Happy Hour! I met another new mom friend there during the first week of January and it was still decorated for the holiday's and we loved it. Such a tiny spot, it feels very intimate. I'm so glad I got one of the last tables. As we were sipping our $6 wine we watched so many people come in and not be able to find a spot so they turned around and left. After meeting up with a friend, I decided to revisit a wine bar I've enjoyed in the past. Unfortunately, this time was a big disappointment. I walked in and sat at the bar for about 10-15 minutes, and no one acknowledged me and no greeting, no check-in to see if I needed anything. Eventually, I just got up and walked out. Love the local so much. The menu is lighter app options but there is something for everyone. John the bartender is absolutely amazing. He really grabs the attention of the bar and gives everyone what they need. Entertaining and super knowledgeable. Has made us feel special since the first time we came. More to offer during happy hour besides just one house red, white, draft beer, and a dirty martini. Maybe do a rotating happy hour cocktail -- each day a different cocktail. And add some snacks for happy hour too. The caprese salad is beautiful and tasty, but a little heavy-handed with the balsamic and olive oil. A little goes a long way. No reason to be wasteful and drench the cheese, tomatoes, and basil with sauce. Service was fine, though my server never did offer water. I ordered a cocktail but water should be standard. A few weeks ago, I visited The Local on the recommendation of a friend who claimed it was the place to get "The Best Espresso Martini in Las Vegas." I wasn't disappointed! I met up with a friend here on a Saturday morning, unaware that the Makers Hive Market was happening in The District, which turned out to be a nightmare for parking. Once I finally arrived, I was the only person in the building since it had just opened. I ordered a drink, but I couldn't shake the feeling that the staff was in a rush for some reason. My drink arrived promptly and was just as good as it had been advertised. The food menu at The Local is quite limited, so I decided to order a house salad. It was a pretty large salad, but it was quite bland. I think all it had in it were pumpkin seeds, tomatoes, and cucumbers. I got bored of it quickly and wished I had paid the extra fee to add goat cheese. The restaurant itself is quite charming and was beautifully decorated for Christmas at the time. We stayed for a while and had two drinks each. I will definitely be returning after learning a few things from my first visit! read more

Attention wine enthusiast and lovers of an occasional glass of Vino. I came across this spot in Green Valley, (The District). It offers an array of great tasting wines and cocktails. I'd recommend the Malbec and the Watermelon Foam Margarita. They both tasted great and were priced accordingly. Outdoor seating is available, as well as, a bar type counter design with an open concept allowing customers to experience an outdoor atmosphere without being outside. This is a nice chill spot which, will undoubtedly be a hot spot as summer approaches. read more

My friend originally told me about the local and told me I had to try it! Ever since then we go back probably once a month or so, if not more! The service here is impeccable the owners are so kind and friendly. The staff is amazing. You can't go wrong with the charcuterie, boards, and drinks here. There's a wide variety of meats and cheeses. You can choose from as well as an extravagant list of wines to try. This is definitely one place. I would say that has something for everybody! The ambience and here is very cute and trendy, Opportunities for photo walls with your girlfriends if you would like. Also some bar seating. I would say it is an intimate facility. They do wine tastings once a month where they offer sampling of wines from different states and countries, as well as a small appetizer, entrée, and dessert. As a Mexicana, I can't help but question whether my ethnicity played a role in the way I was treated. After our last trip when we received absolutely crap service and the manager tried to make it right by comping us, she indicated that the next meal "was on her" and urged us to come back "and give them another chance".. I took her at her word and contacted the restaurant to let her know that I was going to bring my wife and her parents to the restaurant for her birthday. So I contacted the restaurant and informed them that we wanted a reservation for four and that was my wife's birthday. I was contacted and told that they would do something special. We showed up and the front girl was "perfunctory at best". We were seated and waited 20 minutes before we received any water or chips. However, the staff was busy bustling to set this large table in the middle of the dining room for a group that wouldn't show up for 10 minutes. They literally had their chips, salsa, water etc. 10 minutes before we did and we weren't even there. When we did get a waitress she was perfunctory and less than friendly. When I told her we were there for my wife's birthday her answer was "oh that's nice". Far cry from "we will make the evening special for you". We got our food which was fine but absolutely nothing. Throughout the meal the waitress spent all of her time chatting with the large group in the middle - obviously her friends or whatever because they got five star service while we were simply ignored. If we wanted to get a refill of a glass of water or in my father-in-law's case, some sour cream, had to literally get up and pull her away from her buddy table to get service. In addition, not a happy birthday, dessert nothing. So much for trusting the manager when she said that she was going to comp the meal or even at the minimum do something to celebrate the birthday. If we went to something as mundane as Applebee's my wife would've got a piece of cheesecake lol. Very disappointed in this place. We love the food but the service is just crap.

The manager (?) or someone, came to our table again, very apologetic and asked how the new dish was. She didn't make us feel guilty, and assumed all fault asap. Made me feel heard. The other dish we ordered, Spicy Rigatoni Vodka, was perfectly cooked - my son scarfed it down within minutes. The caesar salad we split between the two of us, perfect starter and good portion. Perfectly tossed in a generous amount of dressing. Come dessert time, we ordered - I can't remember the name, was recommended by our server, but my son again - completely demolished it within a minute! We were also informed that our dessert was comped for the mistake that was made with the steak dish. She was funny, friendly, and knowledgeable about the menu. She had such a positive attitude the entire time she was taking our order (which did take us a while due to the multiple questions we had for her) and explained everything well for us. She recommended the meatballs as well and my god they were the best meatballs My wife and I ever had. We also had the Chicagoland pizza and the chicken parmigiana pasta and they were both phenomenal. I'm sad that it took us the long to come and eat at this establishment when we live barely 15 minutes away. The service was friendly, the restaurant had a fun, energetic atmosphere, and everything came out fresh.
