Ahh, greyhound. I'd estimate maybe 1/3 trips has something odd, unexpected, or just plain…read moreridiculous happen (the bus gets lost! the headlights don't work and you are stuck in some podunk town waiting for a replacement!) I spent many a weekend going back and forth to visit friends and family on these buses. One winter break there was a volunteer group giving away snacks to all travelers. Once I also met a group of prisoners on their way home to Philly. The odds of something ridiculous happening are proportional to how much time you spend. A two hour trip between here and Harrisburg generally is OK, will be filled with other students (not the usual crazies that tend to ride Greyhound) and will generally be on time. Occasionally they oversell tickets so you will be forced to stand in the aisle the whole time or just have to go the next day (so if you are going home for the weekend, you are effectively screwed). The employees here were not rude, the station itself a little bare and a boring place to wait. Still it sure beats walking!!

A woman bus driver on bus 15 for the PC school district almost killed my daughter and I yesterday!…read more While taking my daughter to school and driving at a slow speed, this bus driver decided to turn on a street right in front of me! You couldn't have fit a toothpick between my car and the bus! I had to slam on my brakes and my car went sideways almost right into the bus. I laid on my horn and she wouldn't even look at me and kept going!! My daughter was so upset that she almost lost her life that she had to compose herself before going into school. I never had a close call like that in my entire life. I called the bus line in hysterics and the secretary said she was writing up a report and she assured me that the matter would be taken care of, and I told her to have Bill Wilkinson call me and surprise, he never called and today the woman is still driving the bus! So I guess they're waiting for an actual dead body before they remove this menace from the road??? I'm so glad my child does not ride one of their buses to school because they are so desperate for drivers that they don't even discipline them!!!
