I wish you could give them negative stars because this place is horrible.. they cancel your bus mid trip and just says oh we..... they have terrible service at ALL of their locations.. and when your bus is cancelled and you have to find a way on your OWN all they do is give you greyhound credit instead of your money back.. why would anyone continue to use such an unreliable source.. just give me my money! Hello, I have exhausted my resources trying to get into contact with the Amarillo Greyhound station. I shipped two very important boxes that were last scanned at this location. Important to me because I had extremely sentimental items from my grandmother that will never be replaced. I have called the number listed for this location the last two months with no answer or any type of update. PLEASE, if a manager or employee or anyone that can help reads this I simply want to know if my boxes are located in your back room. It would mean the world to me. read more

I was surprised that we were not over crowded. My husband and I chose to ride the greyhound just to not rush home. It was a very smooth ride. The bus driver was very nice. the bus was clean equipped with wifi and love d the new reclining seats. Kyaina even enjoyed herself trying to chat with the other passengers. We rode through a lot of towns that I haven't been through since 2096 when we moved to Colorado. If you have time to kill and just want to site see without driving I would recommend to family and friends. read more

At 6 in the morning when the bus was an hour late and people were frustrated and waiting, what was the desk attendant doing? Giving us blank stares and even going off to get a burger and fries. They were unhelpful and were not in our best interest. To be more exact, the female attendant was actually rude in explaining what gate the bus would be at. After a ten hour bus ride to this station where the bus driver was also rude and often swearing as he got lost circling around residential areas, I can tell you this: NEVER RIDING GREYHOUND AGAIN. read more

This god awful company doesn't know how to treat passengers,my guest was 2 hours late for a delay for literally NO reason except the driver. Second after my card wouldnt go through with correct information applied,I had to buy another ticket and they refused to fix it or give me a refund after redirecting my damn call to another third party company who was willing to fix but THEY denied it.Its the 21st fucking century no one needs to go through this garbage! Do not ever attempt to catch a Greyhound bus from Amarillo. Not only is Amarillo one of the most depressing places in America, this Greyhound location is teeming with passengers and short on buses. Not only did my bus to Dallas leave nearly two hours past our schedule, but there was a virtual stampede when boarding began. They also required me to hand over my luggage when checking in, and my refusal to do so (I've heard too many horror stories about Greyhound losing bags) nearly got me kicked off my bus. By the time we got to Dallas, it was so late that public transportation to Denton - my final destination - had completely shut down and I had to stay in a hotel for the night. I have never had a more appalling travel experience in America. When Greyhound is inevitably replaced by a better bus carrier, I'll dance on their grave. read more

Ive traveled some in my life and I think the only place worse I have been is the airport in Mexico City.Half the stalls were broken.The ones that were usable were occupied by junkies.The staff at the front desk were next to useless.They were combative to say the least.Both times I have been through there we had some kind of issue.From oversold buses to a bus catching fire.The station needs to be knocked down and rebuilt,Some security might be nice also.The food at the little lunch counter was pretty good and the night girl was cute and friendly.Hopefully things have improved.This was about 6-7 years ago but it stuck in my mind to this day. read more

Feel your life is a little too vanilla? Are you aching for serendipity to just have its way in your life? Do you thrive on that looming feeling that at any moment you could be raped, shanked, or even catch malaria? Well, wait no more. Ride a Greyhound! I rode four separate trips over the course of two weeks (Amarillo-Dallas-Houston and Houston-Dallas-Amarillo). My favorite part of the experience was the wondering when my bus would arrive due to lack of capable employees. At the Amarillo bus station, we werent given an announcement or anything. Just stand by the door and hope for the best! I stood at the counter for LITERALLY three and a half minutes before I was helped. What was the employee doing? Well from the reflection in the shiny wall tile, he was sitting around the corner and texting. Out of the four stations I visited,  only two weren't completely dilapidated, disgusting, or made me feel like I was at risk for a STD just by sitting down. I also enjoyed leaving late every single time. As well as making it to my destination later than anticipated because my driver decided to stop in every city that wasn't even on the list. My second trip we left an hour to two hours late. They gave us powerade and peanut butter cookies as an apology. Afterwards, we were lulled to sleep by a rickety seat that wouldnt stop squeaking. But the real cherry on top would've had to have been when I waited for 6 hours in a bus station because my bus was nowhere to be found. My ticket said 11:45pm but we werent loaded onto a bus until 6am. When I tried to get some information on what was taking so long, we were given no answers or explanations except, "your bus isn't here yet so find some place comfortable". That's a joke in itself. Comfort is to bus station as enjoyable is to hemorrhoids! I asked the lady if I seriously spent all of this money on a ticket only to have this dreadful experience. She replied, "when you buy ticket, you get whole bus". No, ma'am...I don't get whole bus. I understand you can't do anything about the man across from me rolling a blunt on his leg...the guy with no teeth repeatedly asking for my number, or even the people doing lines behind me (ACTUALLY HAPPENED). But surely you could figure out something. So they give us breakfast vouchers for the inconvenience. Which I was grateful for up until I started crunching on my scrambled eggs. Yes. No need to read it over. Crunching on my scrambled eggs. That's when I had officially decided, never again will you catch me on a bus...and especially a Greyhound Bus! This location looks disgusting for one. Smells terrible. The employees lack professionalism completely. You get an attitude just for asking a simple question. Worst of all, there's a security gaurd (skinny, short, wears a vest, has a big beard to compensate for something I'm assuming) that LOVES to profile and harass people while they're waiting. Witnessed him give three people, not including myself, HELL over absolutely nothing. He kicked my bag around and was already treating me like I was a criminal, asking me weird questions and making me extremely uncomfortable. Where to start? Upon arriving at the station as a way point along my journey I was already exhausted from the ride that surpassed the maiden voyage of the Titanic. It seemed the the driver insisted on making a pit stop at every pot hole along the way. Looking to get a little rest before the next bus arrived I looked to the benches strewn across the station. To little surprise these were not a very comfortable alternative to the floor. It seemed these particular benches had been saved from a point in history when crude, hand made stone tools were used to craft furniture. Finding little reprieve on the bench I have now learned that my bus that I've been waiting for an hour for already will now be four hours late. This gave me plenty of time to become well aquatinted with the station which I was not able to find a single spot to get a little rest. I also unwillingly had to venture to the restrooms as my wait time has increased to five hours. What I found when I venture to this new quadrant was something that resembled an old, dark, damp cellar from your choosing of horror movie. It is simply too bad that Yelp does not offer a 0 star rating as this is what is deserved. Final thought avoid the bus if at all possible. Maybe ride horse back to your destination or contact a local coyote for transportation. read more

Great real life experience; like seeing the underbelly of it all, but if you need to get somewhere say, on time -- No. Or, comfortably, no. Or like, feel totally safe? NO. Hideously uncomfortable. Rules - no drinking or drugs. yep - peeps were doing both - awesome if you're home but not in my face on an old smelly bus, you know. And i'm not talking a joint of a bump - SHOOTING UP. Total BS. Was THRILLED we made it alive. All semi joking aside - if you need to be somewhere on time, make other plans. Missing my connection cost me 15 hours + $98 in car rentals and another $50.00 for a room once i made my destination. It all worked out; it always does, but it didn't have to be this ANNOYING. One last thing: since we missed our connection out of Amarillo TX we were given priority boarding for the next bus going to AZ. Only, they didn't call this PRIORITY boarding over the speaker - so it was rendered useless. Cause i'm not clairvoyant, i didn't know 80 people were already boarding for the what 52 seats available. I went up to inquire - calmly. This station is literally MADNESS. I don't think ANYONE is ever on time. EVER. Anyway, the woman at the counter basically gave me the big FU and gave me back of the pack boarding. Like it didn't matter that i have been SITTING ON A WIRE BENCH ALL NIGHT? Really nervy if you ask me. I walked away, fuming and went back to her colleague; nicely pleaded my case - cause I am an adult and i do care about people and what happens to them (i would never have gotten on this bus and was assured priority since i missed the last one). He was way cool and escorted us to the door but DUDE - this gal should not be in CUSTOMER SERVICE. Choice words come to mind. Anyhootle. All in all - saw stuff i'd never seen. Met people i'd normally not have met and in the end i made it safe and sound but at 2am when it should have been 1pm the day before. UGH. NO. read more

I have been given the run around from Greyhound for a week now! I booked a ticket for an employee and ended up booking it for the wrong destination, explaining this to the desk attendant at this location she stated that she could not give me a refund but that customer service would if I called them. I at this point then booked a ticket on an airplane instead and missed this bus ALL BECAUSE THIS ATTENDANT STATED I WOULD GET A REFUND. I have now been dealing with customer service for an hour on the phone and an e-mail sent 3 days ago AND they refuse to give me a refund. They keep pushing me off to someone else, first call customer service they will give you the refund, then "my manager is busy" e-mail the request in and they will give you the refund, now an e-mail that states nope sorry about our response but we are unable to give you a refund. I have never been so dissatisfied with a customer service department! I will NEVER use greyhound again! read more

I think a one star rating is too high. Not only did they deny my sister-in-law her luggage when they overbooked her bus but the customer service is horrible. I felt dehumanized after speaking to JENNA (refused to give me a last name or an employee number) at the Amarillo, TX terminal. She refused to offer any assistance. When they denied my sister-in-law her luggage it was transferred to the OKC, OK terminal. I called them and they refused to help as well saying that since her ticket was meant for El Reno, OK that it wasn't their problem and they hung up on me. TWICE. I had the confirmation number for the luggage. I then asked Jenna what I could do she said to drive to the OKC terminal. WHO IS PAYING FOR THE GAS THERE? Not only would I have to drive to the OKC terminal but I didn't even know where the luggage was because the OKC terminal wouldn't confirm that the luggage was there. I asked to speak to someone else and was given a fake toll number to Choice Hotels (completely unrelated to Greyhound as I was informed by their customer service). I still have no idea were the luggage is but my recommendation is BE WARNED THEY WILL TRY TO DELAY YOU (twice this happened to my sister-in-law) AND THEY DO NOT CARE ABOUT YOU OR YOUR BELONGINGS. End of story no luggage, horrible employees, and horrible service. Is there no one decent that works for Greyhound? Also, they do not answer the numbers posted. I had to talk to them on my Sister-In-Laws cell phone. Why? Perhaps they don't want to have their conversations recorded. My Reaction: UN-FREAKEN-BELIEVABLE. read more
