Working wifi
Carlyn P.

Disclaimer: This is the first time I have been on a Greyhound in my adulthood. I learned that it is not the way for me, but here is my experience from Baltimore to Savannah. The most disturbing aspect was the bus stop. I was genuinely thought that I was going to a Greyhound station, but no, 400 Ponca St. Baltimore, MD 21224 is a sign outside. Outside. Like you stand by the sign and wait on the corner with your bags. That's an absolute "no" for me. I asked the uber driver to wait with me until the bus arrived at 8:35pm. It was super dark, sketchy, and no staff to tell you where to go. The Greyhound Flixbus came on time. When I purchased my ticket online, I paid the extra $50 for the two seats. Boarding the bus was an easy experience. They scanned my electronic ticket, I found my seats, and got comfortable. The ride was comfortable, smooth and surprisingly on time to Savannah. Things to note: * If you are a person who gets cold, bring a blanket. It gets pretty chilly on the bus. * There are USB chargers at each seat. They charged pretty fast. * There is wifi on the bus. Gratefully, it worked really well. I didnt experience any disconnections. * The bus made 2-3 bathroom/stretch breaks. Each stop had clean bathrooms, food, and snacks. This was nice because you werent forced to use the bus bathroom. * The drivers are only allowed to drive a certain amount of hours and then another driver has to take over. This switch off was pretty swift. * Both drivers were very good drivers; they drove fast, navigated traffic without throwing us around, and made the travel smooth. * The bus stop in Savannah was in the parking lot of a fast food restaurant. So disturbing. Again, no station, no attendant, nothing. I stood in the parking lot with my bags until my uber came to take me to the hotel. Praise the Lord I had wifi because I didnt know anyone in Savannah if I couldnt get an uber. Despite feeling unsafe before and after getting on the bus, the ride was doable. Unless its an emergency and I cant find any other means of transportation, I will never get on the Greyhound again.

I have mixed reviews about greyhound station. Most of the time the buses are delayed over an hour. They also charge $20 to exchange a ticket which is outrageous, I've called more than a week in advance before yo change a ticket and they do not budge on the fee. With prices over $40 to go to Philly from Baltimore and then a $20 exchange fee, you would hope the station offers better food options, is cleaner, and up dated.

If I could give a negative five stars I would. Not only was the bus in disgusting condition. Dust piled so thick, missing light covers with disgusting molded looking particles, a loose panel that made a loud cracking sound every single we hit even the smallest bump, and a dirty sock crammed into a light socket. When brought to the attention of the company they just kept saying they could not give my money back. So I asked to refund my ticket that has not been used to make other travel arrangements and they would not do that either. Greyhound is no longer leading the pack in the bus travel industry. Their facilities are sub par. Bus are not even that and the customer service totally sucks. Travel Amtrack! The train is nice and roomy. The train is clean and it's a comfortable ride. I wouldn't send my dog on a greyhound.

Use Bolt or the Chinatown busses instead. Greyhound makes no effort to leave on time and costs more as well.

Is there parking to pick up a passenger coming in? If not how far away do ai need to park for handicapped vehicle?

Yes there is 1 hour long parking on site

Is anyone familiar with the DC to Baltimore bus through greyhound? If you have taken it on a weekday afternoon does it typically get to its location on time or does it run into traffic?

I took it once from atlantic city. We atopped in Baltimore and left on time to dc. Traffic is a factor in all travel. Its been raining here a lot so i hope the drivers add for extra time

I don't need him to talk to me but when I take other buses, usually they at least greet the passengers. Not this guy! The bus itself isn't even that comfy. I had always heard such good things about this bus, but not sure I can say anything good about my experience. It's cheap and they made a brief reststop break (15 minutes) in Delaware. Anyway, the bus is freezing cold and I thought maybe it just takes awhile to warm up. Hours later and not any better. It's literally 20 degrees outside so heat is needed on here! Someone went up to ask the driver about turning up the heat. He ignored her and mumbled something about it's having technical issues. Smh! As I said, I'm DONE! Let me go put my gloves back on before I get frost bite!!!

DC to NY on 5/31/11…read more This is an honest review with both good & bad. The Bad: 1) Upon arrival at Union station there were 3 lines to get on the bus. A,B,C none which were marked. A was let on followed by B in an orderly fashion but C was a Free-For-All which sucked if u got there early & had someone in the back just run up ahead of you. 2) Not all seats have outlets OR footrests. You will need these footrests as the leather seats have a slight downward slope to them which was extremely uncomfortable causing you to edge forward. We had neither convenience in our seat row. 3) Nothing was shown on the TV's 4) Bathroom had no light at all. 5) getting luggage off is another Free-For-All 6) There was no rest stop to use a proper restroom or stretch your legs. The Good: 1) Allowed to show confirmation via smartphone. 2) AC was comfortable 3) Bus appeared clean & relatively new. 4) Seats are reclinable and armrests lift although there is zero lumbar support on the Leather Seats 5) Overhead storage wasn't bad. 6) Back of seat has drink holder 7) FREE WiFi if you can get it to work. 8) Price was good for what you get Overall Verdict, worth the $ if you know where to sit & are prepared. My personal experience is why I gave a 3 star. If we had gotten a good seat it might have been four. The zero light in the bathroom & unorganized boarding process would still make it only four stars. Check my pictures I uploaded some of the back of the seats as well as what the NYC drop off point looks like.

At 9:45pm I got a call from my main bus company saying that one of their coaches broke down and they wouldn't have a third bus for a trip we were host the next morning. At 6 minutes to 2 we finally started boarding. Once on the full bus we quickly noticed the busses AC was not operating at peak. As we got out on the highway it was apparent that the air conditioning wasn't working. We were dying of heat on the bus and with no means to cool off. People were complaining to the bus driver and finally about 2/3 of the way home he pulled off at a rest area to try to make a call to get a replacement bus which was not available. Then we were told that we could get on standby on other than moose buses going through when they came through. By this time we were a good hour overdue and everyone just decided to get back on the bus and deal with it as we all wanted to get home. I also noticed the same problem on my trip up to New York but not as bad as the trip home and I expected more riding the luxury version of the bus that actually has less people on it. Shame on vamus for cooking its customers in their buses. I highly recommend anyone reading this to avoid using Vamoose in the summer as their buses aren't equipped properly with air conditioning. And to make matters worse there's no customer service number for the Moose when you call them and you have a complaint they direct you to making your complaint online and not with an operator, and of course there's been no response to my complaint.

Besides, BestBus's ride between NY and DC does't disappoint. I don't take good customer service and lost and found service from bus companies due to my last nightmare! When I forgot my suitcase after waking up from a nap (another bus company), I realized their call center is outsourced to India, who could not help me reach their ground office in D.C.. I had to be very resourceful and ubered directly to their parking lot to find my suitcase (luckily). Ever since that, I try not to choose bus companies without robust customer support. My experience with BestBus was a breeze. I filled out the lost and found form on their website and called. I was quickly helped and received an email confirming my iPhone was identified within two days. I provided an USPS shipping label and they shipped the phone back to me safe and sound. I'll pay it forward by recommending Best Bus to everyone I know!

Is this the Best bus to NYC from DC? In spite of a promising start, I am sad to say it definitely…read moreisn't. I guess DecentBus or OkayBus wouldn't have quite the same ring though. I was thrilled to see that the 7am bus from DuPont Circle was waiting when I arrived at 6:45, and that I was able to board immediately. Not only was there a working electrical outlet, but the WiFi signal was strong and effect. Those were the "best" parts of the expert - it was all downhill from there. I didn't realize there was an additional stop at Union station, and that took quite a while. The driver was very friendly and courteous, but the 15-minute rest stop that turned into 20 minutes made it clear that speed isn't really a priority for this service. We arrived at the stop on West 34th Street and 9th Ave at 12:10pm, and while it was much quicker to park there than it is near Penn station, if I have to walk to Penn station anyway, this isn't much of a plus for me. Probably the most annoying thing about today was that my 5:30pm return trip was cancelled due to technical issues and I had to cut my trip half an hour short(er) to get the 5pm replacement trip instead. I appreciate getting an early notification about the return bus snafu so I was able to adjust my plans accordingly, and I know these things can happen, but if I'm going to be on buses and trains for 12 hours in a day, losing that half hour of planned productivity really isn't great I'll allow that BestBus likely has the best service I've experienced on an Intercity bus in terms of courtesy and communication. And the DuPont Circle is super convenient for me before the metro is running on a Saturday. Beyond that though, this isn't my preferred choice for travel to New York.

I wrote the review on the bus using my own cellular data. I checked multiple times for a Free Wifi network and nothing appeared for me to select. #2 The pictures on the Yelp page are misleading at best. Out of 31 pictures 9 of them are the "LUX" bus you are referring to and TWO of the pictures are the standard bus that I was on. #3 What other riders rated is not my concern, I rated the experience I had using your transportation in real time. It was not pleasant, the seats are small, it took 6 hours to get to NY (traffic or not), there was no WIFI. Those reasons alone are enough for me not to use this service again. There are other riders who experienced exactly what I have listed in this review. I hope that through my review you can check your fleet and ensure WIFI works on every bus. UPDATE: No free WiFi. The bus picture on Yelp IS NOT the bus you ride on. AND they are not timely! This is my first time on the Washington Deluxe. I had high hopes as my boyfriend recommended this service over other buses. The bus itself is very cramped, and I did not see anyone being offered water. Despite that, I thought everything would be fine as it's a 4 hour ride. The bus was due to leave at 3p and we left maybe 10 mins after 3. But somehow by 7pm we JUST made it into Delaware (we were supposed to be in NY by 7:15). Whatever scenic route this driver took added 2 hours to a 4 hour trip!!! We literally went through every stoplight and neighborhood in MD which caused such a drastic delay. Why we could not take a main route is beyond me because we left long before traffic really hit. So as I'm writing this I have now been on this bus for 5 full hours. We mostly likely have another hour before we arrive at the stop. Just take Megabus or Greyhound. Do not let the pictures online or the "deluxe" in the name persuade you. At this point, I'd even take the Eastern bus!
