8/28/14 Haven't been to this bus station before but will say it is in a prime location. It is right off the highway not too far from Ravens stadium and the new Horseshoe Casino. My trip today was for another nature; not traveling but for shipping. The staff was very friendly and helpful. There is a small parking lot for a bus station but since it was middle of the day there was plenty of parking, Julius was very helpful with helping me with my shipment and processing everything. The station isn't exactly nice, but... it's Greyhound, so what can you do? It was reasonably clean and everything, so I was satisfied. I only use the Express service, so I can't speak to the regular old Greyhound service. Unfortunately my bus back to Philadelphia was late for some reason, and nobody told us when it was going to arrive from DC. It was about ten minutes late, and then once we got on we had the dreaded overbooking scare. Some guy didn't have a seat, so the driver made everyone get out their tickets; unfortunately she had kept your entire ticket if it had been printed online, so there was nothing for me to show, but she remembered most people. When it was resolved (I don't know how), we ended up departing at about 3:00 instead of 2:25 pm. Amtrak is expensive and Megabus is just the worst, so I'll definitely be taking Greyhound Express between Philadelphia and Baltimore in the future. read more

If you have anywhere you have to go, look up the time on Google maps and seriously consider your options to hitch hike or walk before you get on this bus line. Bus came 3 hrs late at 11PM for a supposedly 16 hrs trip. Their error doubled the commute time and you have to wrestle with Customer Service to get a drop of help with an attitude at every corner. No verbal addressing of the issue or changes of tickets/accomodations. Just got my ticket "fixed" you find out I'm no longer going to make my 2 year anniversary date. Expected arrival time, 10 AM June 28. "Corrected" arrival time while on the same trip, 1 PM June 29. Do not travel with them without disaster funds lol. read more

Had the worse experience than greyhound. Bought a round trip ticket from Downtown Baltimore to NYC. The bus was suppose to arrive at 3:30 but came at 5:20. Then the bus driver was very rude when I asked him about where I could put my luggage. Then, coming back. A sign says masks are required and the driver wasn't wearing a mask and very few people had them on. As I got in the bus, it smelled of urine and as I looked down I could see urine on the floor. An hour in the bus, the roof starts leaking and wets the seat next to me. I took pictures of puddles of the seat but was told by the driver that there were no other seats and to wipe up the puddles with a napkin. When I contacted greyhound, I was told sorry and that they could t reimburse me for my inconvenience. This was the worst! I would not recommend anyone to go greyhound. They're horrible with customer service. Look into Trailways or Peter Pan!! read more

Awful customer service. They make tones of mistakes at the expense of the traveler and take no responsibility when they make these mistakes. They overbook? You get yelled at. Rude comments were made such as "if you want to get off the bus, go ahead, that's not my problem." I wasn't rude when I asked a question, I would expect a customer service employee would have better manners. They give no refunds or exchanges after making said mistakes. They just don't care. I downloaded yelp just to share how pissed I am at how terrible this busline is. Was supposed to leave at 3:45am from raliegh, we left at 5:30 because they overbooked the bus. Supposed to get to Baltimore by 12pm, it is 4:40 and I am STILL on a bus because we missed out connecting bus. Had to wait 4 hours at a bus station, and when I asked customer service about the wait she said "what do you want me to do, find you a magic carpet?" Went from an 8 hour trip to 13-14 hours. Unacceptable. Asked another worker where my bus was when they kept announcing the wrong buses and having us wait in lines for no reason. She grabbed my hand and said "honey I have no fucking idea". Garbage! Worst experience ever. The bus drivers don't have a clue about what's going on. Don't ever pay extra for priority boarding because it means nothing to them! You still have to get in line with everyone else and if you're last, then you're last. One driver even said he didn't know what priority boarding meant. Do yourself a favor and fly or drive. I swear this is not what I had in mind. Service is not up to par, the bathrooms don't have sinks and kept swinging open the whole entire ride. The bus itself grossed me out and was so crowded. I have to say the worst part of it all was that I woke up and saw a brownish red bug crawling on me...it was a bed bug! The next day I had itchy bumps all over my legs & arms. I bought a greyhound ticket from Annapolis to New York with a stop in Baltimore. The bus from Annapolis didn't show. Mind you this bus stop is in the sun with no bathrooms. We quickly ordered an Uber to make it to our connection out of Baltimore. This was about 4 months ago and I'm STILL trying to get reimbursed for the Uber. Their phone customer service is probably the worst I've ever experienced. The manager at the Baltimore station was nice and understanding so this review is not aimed toward him. DO. NOT. TAKE. GREYHOUND!! Every single time I have tried taking a bus from this company it is always at LEAST half an hour late minimum. One instance was that my bus to Newark was supposed to depart from Baltimore at 7 and was 45 minutes late. Then the staff told us that the bus was canceled because there was "no driver." Everyone was left stranded and had to figure everything out on their own. I got to take another bus the next morning, and that one was 2 HOURS LATE. So stranded one night, then left waiting around for hours the next day. Nice job, Greyhound. read more

We just used this service from NY Port Authority to Washington, D.C. and I have to admit, it wasn't a good experience. Where should I start, the NY Bus Station is a disorganized unlabeled mess, no signs pointing to where you have to go, the GreyHound Bus app doesn't provide the gate information and the bus themselves, are super old and filthy. We thought it would be a more inexpensive alternative to taken to the Acela train to D.C. boy were we wrong. Thank god we didn't need to go to the bathroom, because there isn't one, and thank good we had an iPad because there wasn't ANY entertainment! A bad decision that won't happen again. The fact that the buses are very old and on the GreyHound website states that you get "Free-Internet" along with leather seats is nothing more than misleading. To start the "leather seats" aren't available on ALL the buses and the "Free-WiFi" should be called "Sometimes it works WiFi", it's super slow and almost unusable. I hope this message gets to the upper management making these horrible decisions that instead of encouraging people to ride more with them, make them run away from using their services. read more

There should be a no-star section for greyhound. I bought an online ticket from Baltimore to New York and my bf paid it with his credit card. They charged him the double amount of the ticket price without any warning!!! When he received an email that he was charged $50 for a $25 ticket we were shocked. When we called the customer service we learned that to avoid fraud they charge more if the card holder's name is different from the passenger's name. I wonder how they avoid fraud by charging more fees and not warning that they charge more. The customer service also added that "only for this time they agree to pay the refund." As if they were doing us a favor! This rule is unfair and needs to be done away with! read more

I had a bad experience with Greyhound in another state in the past and had planned to never ride it again if I didn't have to. When I found out my friend was leaning towards taking Greyhound on a quick weekend trip, I had a bad feeling that something would go wrong. Due to both of our cars being in the car shop at the time, we ended up on Greyhound. I had no problems with the waiting area or bathrooms. I felt safe in general. The Greyhound staff were not very helpful in keeping customers informed of when late buses would arrived. Their common response was "I really don't know". When we were in line the Greyhound staff person told us to have a seat and we would be notified of when our late bus arrived. After waiting in line for so long we decided to have a seat to rest our legs since we had no idea of when the bus would arrive. Bad choice. At some point we looked up and saw a lady who mentioned going to our destination boarding a bus. We almost missed the bus. There was no announcement that our bus had arrived. Turns out the man sitting beside us was also waiting on the same bus and had to jump up and sprint to the bus just as we had. The bus driver was very unprofessional. Seats in the handicap section starting moving when the bus started moving and customers legs were smashed as the bus was driving. Customers asked the driver for help and he wouldn't even come and lock the seats. Two people were able to find other seats, but 3 people were left to sit in the moving seats due to the bus being crowded. The seats continued to move back and forth throughout the trip. It was very unsafe. One of the straps that holds the overhead baggage in place randomly popped and almost hit the person in front of me in the face while we were driving. This experience left me with another bad taste about Greyhound. Hopefully the next time I will make a better choice and stay away from Greyhound. read more

I booked a round trip with Greyhound on October 25th, scheduled for November 15th for my daughter because we were going on a business trip. When she arrived to the location for my scheduled ride, she was told by the agent "that there was no bus scheduled for the departure time." She then showed the agent her ticket was told, "they took it off the runs for today," my daughter was furious! She then called me to inform of the situation, I then contacted Greyhound who pretty much told me that there was nothing that they could do until after 24 hours. So I had to drive 2 hours to pick my daughter up from college I then called again after the 24 hour period and then was told that I had to wait until the last final trip was completed to insure the ticket wasn't use. I'm livid by now which is a understatement!! Greyhound is the ABSOLUTE WORST!!! We could have been contacted well before this to inform us of any changes.. read more

The worst transportation experience of my life. First off, the buses are never on time. And when they do come, the drivers never go to the back and clean up or look things over. The bus reeks of piss and the buses appear to be old. I went to Atlantic City from dc on my bday, and instead of 4 hours as promised, it took 7 DAMN hours. Between being late, bus breaking down, and switching drivers, it was terrible. We ended up at the Baltimore location for over an hour (was only supposed to be there 5 minutes). The Baltimore location was the worst. Nobody calls out anything to let you know where you go, or even calls out anything on the loud speaker. It's one tall, dark skinned lady, who works there who's VERY rude, she hollers at everyone, and even yelled at me for asking a question. I cussed her dumb ass out. Seriously...why is she allowed to work there? And when our bus finally did come, no one told us, who were waiting. I saw people getting on, and had to ask the stupid ass driver was he going in my location. He barely looks at my ticket and says "if you can fit on it, go ahead". Oh and during the layover, he never announced any of the stops! How in the hell would I know I'm in Delaware if you don't say anything? All of them are rude and unprofessional. Messed the earlier part of my birthday up. And, Coming back wasn't as bad. But still. I will NEVER take greyhound again! read more

This was my first time on the Greyhound and I was very disappointed to say the least. Our bus was scheduled for 8:45am, we arrived at the station around 8:20. We were informed around 8:40 that all buses going to New York were delayed indefinitely. No further information was given. We waited until 9:30am to figure out what was going on to then be informed that the bus still had not left DC due to a lack of drivers. The associate who helped us at the counter was rude and very inconsiderate. "We can't do nothing, they have no driver." So we asked if we could get on the 10am bus (which apparently had a driver, but it doesn't make sense you'd send a later scheduled bus when an earlier bus has yet to leave). We exchanged our ticket for the 10am and stepped onto what was probably the dirtiest bus that I've ever experienced. I've been on school buses, Megabuses, old worn down buses going to summer camps... and they were all in much better shape (by far) than this bus. There was gum on the window and about an inch of dust around the window pane. The bathrooms smelled so bad that every time someone opened the door we'd gag. The outlets didn't work, and the entire bus smelled awful. We made our way to NYC and at our first stop a handful of people got on to yell and complain that there were no seats left, which continues to show Greyhound's lack of scheduling skills. The bus driver stayed around to console the travelers who weren't able to find a seat (although they had tickets) and did not even begin to consider the schedules of the people already on the bus waiting to get to their destination. We stayed at the stop for about 40 minutes. A similar situation happened at our second stop, but this time we left much faster. Overall, my first experience with Greyhound was highly disappointing and cheaper alternatives such as Megabus seems to be way more competent. read more

This is the worst bus experience I've ever had. The bus broke down and while we were being transported from one bus onto the next the security lady was being extremely rude and screaming at us. I have never been so displeased and frustrated with a travel service as I have been with greyhound. I needed a cheap way to get from Baltimore to Pittsburgh for a wedding. I am an avid megabus user, and I anticipated greyhound to be as organized if not more organized than the megabus system. Sadly this was not so. First off when I walked in there was a ton of confusion and chaos surrounding the line system and the lettering system. Tons of people surrounding all the gates and I had no idea where to go. The Baltimore station is getting a renovation that will be opening shortly so I will give them that, but it was still unnerving. My main point of frustration throughout the entire experience was definitely the service. When I walked into the terminal and ran into confusion, I asked the workers at the ticket counter where exactly I went/what exactly I had to do since I've never used greyhound before. They were kind enough to point me in the direction of my line, however DID NOT tell me I had to get a ticket for my rolling bag! My great spot in line was lost when I learned, right before boarding the bus, I needed a destination tag. So here I am running to the ticket counter trying to get a tag as the bus is getting ready to depart, and the people at the counter won't give me a tag because I already had to give my ticket in order to board on the bus. To say I was livid was an understatement. In comparison to flying, driving, and the megabus, I have never experienced this much frustration from a travel experience. It's safe to say greyhound will not be getting my service anytime in the future. read more

1. The bus was an hour late and they did nothing to keep us informed and in fact yelled at us for continuing to ask. 2. They sell more tickets than there are seats on the bus. 3. Boarding is always a nightmare. You have a number and they say they take your number when in fact I have seen them take people out of order. This is why everyone runs to line up and starts pushing each other like elementary school age children. If you don't get on the bus they put you on the next one or the next one. 4. If you are bigger, fine. I'm not judging you but buy two seats. I'm not purchasing half a seat so I expect to sit in a whole seat. This also applied to those guests who think their purse needs a seat. Bus drivers/boarders should enforce this. 5. I'm only giving this place one star because I did eventually make it on the bus. 6. Is it possible to give a "zero" rating. Bus (8:25am Baltimore to NYC) with over 35 ticketed passengers has only 10 seats available. conflicting communication (we knew it was overbooked, 2nd bus "should" be here, don't know where 2nd bus is, can't take bus off of the lot.... Finally, an hour later, they took bus off the lot, gassed it up and "woke a driver who is now here." We leave Baltimore 1-3/4 hours late, the bus driver wanders around Baltimore streets for 15 minutes, can't find the highway, needs someone to guide her to the highway. This should be an express bus. It gets off the highway in Wilmington, DE. We were NEVER told about this. There is no way we can make our 2pm show - best case is to miss 1/2 the first act if they will even let us in. Completely unacceptable. Greyhound offers only the cost of the outgoing trip and a voucher for $30 for a future trip. Really? Filing complaints with BBB, attorney's general in MD and TX. Greyhound violated by passenger rights on so many levels. Complete BS. read more

So I had a bus from DC to Boston. I bought my ticket two and half weeks in advance to see my best friend for a weekend because we only get to see each other a couple times a year. I arrived at Union Station Greyhound bus line fifteen minutes before 7:30am, when the bus was set to leave. There were no attendants, save for a woman who seemed to only speak ASL. There was no announcement for the bus boarding. When I was unable to find my bus at 7:33, I got concerned and went to the information booth. It was there that I was lied to and told that I could take a bus to Baltimore and my bus (that I had paid $35 for) would stop at Baltimore and I could transfer. As previously stated, this was untrue. I am currently stuck in a greyhound bus station in Baltimore forced to wait another TWO HOURS before the next bus going to Boston arrives-- even then, I'll have a one hour layover in New York. I rarely get to see my best friend at all, and this level of unprofessionalism and rudeness from the services of Greyhound Buses has determined that I will be seeing her late into the night and making our trip much shorter than we had been planning. FUCK GREYHOUND. The only form of customer service I was given was the "privilege" of not being charged for my second ticket. This is unacceptable and I implore that people use any other bus service to get anywhere in a timely manner. read more

After waiting for the bus for 2 hours, the employees continuously misinformed me of where to wait and when. Thus resulting in me and my gf missing the midnight bus from Baltimore to NYC and being stranded in one of the most dangerous cities in America. But what really is incredible is how the company intentionally sells tickets for trips even though they know it's overbooked. Advance tickets do not guarantee a seat? How the hell is that the policy? I'm not sure how you really rate a bus station...but here goes. First of all, you need to use the bus to go to this station. The Horseshoe Casino is being built right next to it which at this moment, makes it harder to access or find. Every time I've come here to pick up or drop off someone, there has always been ample parking and lots of cabbies available. I really don't see how this station doesn't fit the bill, but from my experience, I would never expect the bus station to be an exciting place. read more

The Greyhound personnel here (including the security guard) just do not seem to care enough of any difficulties one would have as a passenger. In my case, I rushed here to get on a 345 bus a few minutes earlier. There had been nobody at the ticketing desk when I arrived. I was ready to finish my booking online but asked whether they charged a service fee at the desk as the online case for the upcoming bus. They suggested me to go the self ticketing booth just in front of their ticketing desk. I went there and somehow the booth/kiosk stopped selling the ticket for that bus. I went to the driver (who also served as the boarding agent) to see if I can buy a later ticket and get on board. He asked me to approach the ticket desk for help. When I went back to the desk trying to seek help for my special situation, nobody responded except that the security guard (who sometimes also sit on the ticketing booth asked me to get to the back of the new line formed. I told her that the driver might not wait but she did not respond directly and some other passengers started complaining. I therefore followed their line for another 5-10 minutes, finally some lady I asked before came back to the ticketing desk saying that the 345 bus had left. I was not necessarily against this but this had caused me to miss the window to buy an upcoming bus by Peter Pan. In short, all the Greyhound employees as well as their security guard do not seem to care enough or show any willingness to help customers to resolve any of their issues. In general, they seem to just know to respond the first thing they hear from a customer, even though their answers could mean more delays and/or worse scenarios a customer. Whatever comes out of their initial response, they are not going to step out of their ways to resolve it. The fact that their online bus ticket is not refundable does not help either. read more
