My experience with Greyhound was absolutely horrible. I only had 10 minutes to get on the bus and purchase a ticket because their app did not approve my debit card. Subsequently, I was forced to go to the counter and pay double the price. However, once I was on the bus, I checked my account and Greyhound was paid for the first ticket. It wasn't until I arrived at my destination that I was informed that you can only get a refund within the first 15 minutes after the purchase. Who has a policy like that? GREYHOUND! My sons got stolen along with his ID and we had no way of getting him another one. 90% terrible employees. Not knowledgeable to just downright rude. The driver also left my son in Lordsburg, NM. They don't even have a station- it's just "a stop". He had a terrible upset stomach and the bathroom on the bus was already backing up. He said it was disgusting. He asked the driver to wait and he didn't. Fortunately the employees of the McDonalds there were kind to him. They gave him some food and let him use the phone. 800 numbers go overseas. No supervisor. Well, unless you have your original confirmation number. Even then they ask you to fill out an on-line form which we did because they lost my sons bag. Then they email, then they ask you to call again. It's a three ring circus. A trip that from California that was supposed to take two DAYS took a week. I am a 66 year old disabled man. I have been riding Greyhound several times over the past 4 years. My most recent experience was I left Louisiana to go visit Arizona. The heater on the bus was not working or the driver couldn't figure it out. Long story short. I ended up in hospital in elpaso tx. Greyhound has no respect for any passenger male or female or child. In my opinion who ever is running this lame business are a bunch of greedy money hungry snakes in the grass and morons. The Dallas station is just plain not safe. I sat next to someone who was shooting up. The restrooms (at least men)- I'm scared to think when the last time was that it saw a mop. It permanently smells like feces. Multiple people in stalls frequently.. God only knows what they're doing. I did especially enjoy the "530 am wakeup call" on the loudspeaker, which was reminiscent of a shelter. Just outside I had a number of opportunities to buy drugs, cigarettes,, or even second hand McDonald's sandwiches. The security guard was very concerned about me smoking near the door. The service here is pretty good, but the bathrooms smell a little bit. The bathrooms are relatively clean though. And there are lots of places to sit inside the terminal. I had one guy asked me for a buck outside of the terminal but I very seldom give money to beggars. I like taking Greyhound because there's free WiFi and there's power for your phone if they driver remembers to turn on the adapters. Everybody look scrubby that gets on the bus but most of the folks have bachelor's and master's degrees and a really smart. They just dressed down because it's not necessary to dress up. read more

I have not traveled my bus for over 40 years but my mother still does. She doesn't like to fly. I checked her in as well as waited for her. Lots of interesting people and I know trust is still around as 2 gentleman (Hispanic) asked for my help. Not monetary. I was really impressed with a black young lady who works here who was trying to help the Hispanics who didn't know English get on the buses. She actively went to all of them looked at their tickets and " moved them" to where they needed to go. I don't know anyone who would go above and beyond and I wish I could've gotten her name. If I could give a 0 I would! In Feb my dad traveled from WA to AZ. Greyhound "lost" his bag in AZ, come to find out it was tagged incorrectly and never put on the bus. A month in AZ and they never could retrieve his bag. Greyhound issued a refund for lost baggage but they foubd the bag, then Covid hit. Since April I have been given the run around by numbers to call, half of then deactivated, and then told the only way I can reach baggage claims is by email. Ive been going back and forth trying to find where this bag is. Baggage claim told me they found it, I told them I needed it sent to WA and they told me it was at the station in Tacoma, WA. I went down to the station in Tacoma in person in July where they told and physically showed me they did not have the bag, looked it up and found out it was not properly tagged and never sent to Tacoma. I again reached out via email today where they told me they confirmed the issue with my dad themselves and gave a confirmation number which is a total lie! He is in my care, they could not display proof of "things being taken care of" and what the confirmation nimber was for, no one ever contacted him nor I and we still do not know where his bag is and still I get no firm answers from this company and no effective help. There are very important records in his bag he needs for his medical and we havent been able to get any service regarding this issue for nearly six months now. read more

Schedule GLI 1547 - Departing Shreveport, LA at 12:25 PM and arriving in Dallas, TX at 5:15 PM on 2/28/18 To sum this up...absolutely the WORST experience I've had on Greyhound. Greyhound has always been my last choice when it comes to ground travel and I definitely don't expect much, but this was simply a terribly experience. It took 10 hours to arrive in Dallas from Shreveport. The bus was 5 hours late. The driver, while very professional, stopped at every stop regardless of if anyone was getting on or off. Mind you we had a full bus. Which also included a dog strapped to a seat. The dog appeared to be a pit bull and did not have a service animal jacket. I reached out to customer support 48 hours ago and still no reply so I feel anyone reading this should look elsewhere for their travel needs. Luckily I made it home but it took almost 10 hours to travel from Shreveport to Dallas. This is totally unacceptable. In the Shreveport station the agent was more involved in the TV show Let's Make A Deal than anything else although before she left for the day she did show us how to use the bus tracker which was less than accurate. No explanations or even apologies were offered for the delay. The water fountain didn't even work. I could go on but the bottom line is that I was a paying customer being treated terribly, as were the other 9 in the so called terminal (with awful seats). Greyhound encourages advance online purchase. This means you know how many are on the bus and who is departing at each location. Furthermore you have my info so a text or email of a delay shouldn't be a problem. Also if no one is departing or boarding a fully booked bus the driver should be able to bypass a stop. Especially when he/she is 5 hours late!! A small traffic delay is understandable but my experience on the last trip plus the lack of customer service response is simply too much. My departure was from Dallas, Texas on Saturday, May 13, 2022 at 1:30pm on 6493. I arrived early and waited to board. I asked numerous times, called numerous times, and finally when I was still at the terminal at 8pm that evening finally left to return home. My experience in between those hours has left me baffled. Upon arrival, I waited in the terminal to board. There was an announcement over intercom that informed passengers that the bus has been delayed. After 3 1/2 hours, I am still at the Dallas terminal without any new information. Upon inquiring with an associate, I was told a number of things: there is not a driver for this route, they are attempting to find a driver, the bus broke down, and the bus was in route. After another few hours, I tried calling the customer service number. I received no new information. The associate there at the terminal was as aggravated as I was, but I thought it was extremely unprofessional and offensive that they would be making announcements off of the PA cussing and using foul language with children in the terminal as well. I realize that we all had questions and they may not have had answers but to be so crude and disrespectful was uncalled for. After waiting another 3 hours and there being no evidence that there was any bus I. Route or any answers to when or even if the bus would depart, I called customer service and had my ticket changed to depart on Saturday, May 14, 2022 at 1:30pm. I ended up leaving the terminal and going back home till Saturday. The next day, Saturday, I arrived well before departure time, went inside checked the schedule, printed my ticket, and it was posted that the bus would depart today on time. So things, at this point, were looking up. I boarded, After a bit, the driver proceeded to get on the intercom and inform every passenger that he had informed his supervisor that he was extremely tired and that there was little or no concern from them so he was to let us know if we noticed him falling asleep to please wake him. I was very apprehensive at this point but I was already on board and went ahead and sat so I could keep a very close eye on the driver for any signs he may fall asleep. After a few hours, we pulled into the Waco terminal and come to find out, the bus was overheating the whole trip. At a point, The driver refused to let anyone off the bus. The door was locked and there were a few other passengers getting clearly upset so I was on the phone face timing a friend and I raised my phone up to show her what was happening. The driver thought I was recording him and proceeded to allow passengers off at that point. Once we reboarded, I was informed that I would be there until a mechanic could make repairs which may likely be between 4 hours and the next day. I wanted to get back off and was informed that if I got off I would not be permitted back on the bus. I proceeded to call an Uber to pick me up and transport me the remainder of the trip to College Station. I had a return trip for Monday, May 16, but with all of the complications thus far, my confidence that I would depart or arrive to my destination 100% without incident was at 0. I would appreciate a phone call from a supervisor, an apology for the numerous inconveniences and disrespects experienced, and a refund for my entire trip which will almost cover the cost of my Uber to get to my destination, but having my wife have to travel the three hours to come pick me up, for that I just appreciate her willingness to do so and the fact that I actually got home safe and sound was a big plus. I don't feel that the employees felt very important and it showed with the way they interacted and spoke with the customers. If you have any issues; there is no resolution and no customer service department. They left my son at a stop, and then "lost" all of his belongings. Everything he was moving to a new state with; all clothes, shoes, and valuables. They then lose your stuff and go through it. So don't let them know you have anything valuable or fragile. They will leave you behind and TAKE your Valuables. We had a horrible experience - losing all clothes and possessions; only to see that they had NO Customer Service. NO help to track our stuff that their driver took off with. If you read Katelyn's review we had the same issue with the e ticket as well. The customer service was not the best at the counter here in Dallas. In Houston we were told to just get on the bus because the driver had us on her palm pilot thing. She was nice. Get to Dallas and welp nope. The customer service agent made it as if we were stupid and could not read the emails. Listen, she was totally barking up the wrong tree. I can read emails the same way I have read my high school diploma and my bachelors degree. Then she hands me a paper and says, "sign this." Ugh, what do you have name signing? Some other customer service rep says, "you want your ticket, don't you?" Um wow! Yep, customer service stinks! The station is crowded and about 80% of the workers have attitude and expect passengers to be mind readers and know what is going on. I told my husband flying is much easier. Didn't even think it was possible to have such a catastrophic travel experience. Paid over $110 for a bus ride from Portland to San Francisco with a connection in Sacramento. I have now been sitting in a mostly full bus for over 5 hours (and counting)-- waiting for the driver to arrive. We were supoose to leave at 11:10 pm. Only had a lady come in once at 11:50 to tell us we would not have a driver until 2/3 am. No prior updates, nor have any followed. It is now 4:15 am. I will at this point definitely be missing my connection and losing an entire day's worth of prepaid plans, simply because this company can not get it together enough to get their drivers to even show up. Genuinely can not wrap my head around this mess. Extremely dissatisfied customer!! Wish I could rate ZERO!!! This trip was scheduled more than a week prior to the trip for my mother to attend a family event (once in a lifetime event). We arrived to the Bus Stop at 7:15a for 7:30a boarding. Confirmed with cashier that we were at the correct location. She suggested the best spot to wait. At 7:33a, bus had not arrived. Contacted GH via chat (no phone number on the mobile site). Agent confirmed the bus was coming but would not arrive before 7:50a. We unloaded luggage just so the driver would know we were there for pick up. At approx. 7:55a, we watched the bus drive by the location on the access road of the freeway and NEVER stopped. I immediately contacted GH via chat. First, couldn't get anyone to answer the chat. When I did, the agent said the bus arrived at 7:52a. I explained that we saw the bus but he never stopped--please contact and ask them to come back. I was told there was nothing they could do and apologized for the inconvenience. She sent me a link to file a complaint and disconnected me. The link didn't work, so again, I opened a chat. The second agent was the "schedule" agent, who provided me the same "broken" link and immediately disconnected me on the chat window. Since there is no phone number to call on the website, I went to the FAQ. It references an online form, but none was available through the mobile version of the site. This was an extremely important family event that my 85yo mother could not attend because GH didn't not live up to the expectation nor did they seem to care that they had deeply disappointed my mother. read more
