Keep in mind, Run About riders pay HALF of what paratransit riders pay, plus most of them are able bodied and can probably walk to wherever they are going. I can't count the number of times my bus was late because my driver "had to go get a Run About rider at the last minute" (which, as previously mentioned, took precedence over me) before picking me up. So wrong. Also, if you happen to have a doctor's appointment, try to make other arrangements. They will NEVER get you to your appointment on time. Seriously. I can't walk or drive, so unfortunately, I have to depend on them. I have no problem with the drivers, its admin. staff that is especially difficult to deal with. Hopefully things will improve in time. For now, we have to deal with it.

Not only is the train one of the only ways to see the routes through and over ground semi familiar you have not seen before but it is a safe and fast and comfortable ride. A couple years ago I took a three day ride to Chicago out of San Francisco called the California Zephyr. It was so relaxing and the views so beautiful I got hooked. Now i take a couple rides a year and use the train for bay area day trips or just an overnight ride to Seattle or the like. The staff os always great, never a rude or pushy person have i met in am Amtrak uniform. The seats have a ton of room even in coach even the snacks and drinks are affordable. I travel a-lot it is what i do. Buses trains plains and even the occasional boat. Of them all the train is by far my favorite way to travel. Cars give you freedom the train doesn't but the train is much cheaper and with rides shares and parking fees, gas prices, and traffic, you loose very little mobility and gain so much more in the ease of the trip. That translates to relaxed passengers who are unguarded and happy on board. If you like me enjoy talking to strangers, you gotta take-a weekend trip. Rent a sleeping room or even sleep in the coach seats and by the end of the ride you will be at your destination at the pace a fast car trip, but ready to adventure on the other end. For solid and even great value try Amtrak. It is a very honest and straight forward well run company as well. The employees seem to love their jobs witch means managers do to. It seems as a customer to be a company who gets it from top to bottom. Embracing who they are and what they offer and are perfectly oaky with that. All those moving parts make the rails and Amtrak an American tradition worth connecting to and ensuring your grandchildren get a chance one day with their own grandchildren to take a ride through time and see the land as it was 100 years ago. Support Amtrak and ride the train short trip or long, it is a way to connect to kids to relax and to just be as you rocket through this second to none landscape of our beautiful country. So hit your reset button and spend a weekend with Amtrak, I promise you will not be disappointed even if you don't fall head over heels as I did my first ride and each and everyone since!

It was closed when I got here at 12:30am to catch my 2:20am train, the #11 Coast Starlight to L.A. it was quite and peaceful after the 140 mile drive to get here. There is a security person on duty during the early morning hours at this station. Which sits back off the road a bit and is located between Court and California streets on Yuba, downtown. The parking lot for both short and long term is well lit, patrolled and there is plenty of parking. My vehicle was there for a week just fine. She said it would be a half hour. She came by 30 minutes later with another passenger stating it was her friend, and still stated that my dad had to pay the entire fair. It appeared that they were trying to swindle my dad into paying for this man's ride out to Medford. The entire incident was unprofessional and unsavory. I don't recommend using this company. It was over 90 degrees out while my father waited for the service. This is unacceptable. We were having a backyard bbq and I had a few drinks and was unable to drive him back unfortunately.

And a stay at the Running Y Ranch in Klamath Falls was on my agenda. Thanks to careful Southwest Point Shuttle schedule planning, I was able to get to visit all these scenic places. I also took the Shuttle back to Medford Airport. They ran pretty much on time, had friendly drivers (Jennice was very nice) but beware: bathroom breaks are very quick & rushed for the most part so lay off the hooch or water until you get to where you're going. Now the Point runs several different routes in Oregon: a Cascade route; an Eastern route; a High Desert route; a Northwest (Portland) route and this Southwest route which I rode. Kudos to the state of Oregon for partially funding this enterprise to help people get around. In fact, the Oregon Department of Transportation in June 2014 made sure Klamath Falls residents could get down to Medford Airport once air passenger service from Klamath Falls ended. The Oregon DOT reminded Klamath Falls residents looking to fly out of Medford, that there is a stress-free way to get to the Medford Airport and back via South West POINT shuttle. In just a little under 2 hours, you can get come down the mountain to (and from) Klamath to the Medford Airport and back. The Shuttle also goes to the Klamath Falls Amtrak station where you can pick up the Pacific Starlight train. Once May tourist season arrives, the shuttle has a bus that runs up to Crater Lake and back. I would have loved to have done that. According to the POINT website, "this route's 22- and 24-passenger buses have free Wi-Fi, power outlets, air conditioning, space for your luggage and bicycle, and are wheelchair accessible." Tickets are sold online or by Amtrak and Greyhound. The website says the drivers do not sell tickets but they do. I recommend giving the POINT a try: I met many locals who ride it all the time. When I visit someplace scenic, I like to let someone else do the driving, so I can drink in the beauty and majesty that is all around me.

Yes literally - you will catch your bus outside the grocery store. I've done it enough times to know how it goes. My ex (sort of) open relationshippy type girl lives here and I came here on the bus a couple times as a youngun. I guess there are worse and much less safe places to catch a bus, but it's a shame that this is the best you'll get to see - just a big chain store and nothing special - when you come to gorgeous lush Ashland. I think they would be better off having the buses go from downtown or something but that's the way it goes.

This was a wonderful way to visit wineries. We submitted a list of some wineries we would like to…read morego to and three were selected. There were seven in our group and about eight other people onboard. Water (and rubber bands to help with hair in the wind) was provided on the trolley along with music and laughter. Kari was our hostess and told us a little bit about each of the wineries that we visited. Charcuterie was included while we sat by the Applegate River and tasted at Red Lily. We all agreed that it was one of the most fun days ever!

You cannot reserve before the hour. There were a lot of people waiting for the tour. Hopefully, we can return one day for the tour.
