Negatives-Pictures are deceiving. Interior is run down. Decor is rustic but outdated. Not sure if it's undergoing renovation or what but there are signs posted, warning that there are cancer causing chemicals inside various parts of the hotel. Odd, old smell in the hallways. Way over priced 300$ a night on a weekday seems a bit steep for what this place offers. Positive- staff is friendly. Beds were comfortable and seemed clean. In close proximity of a burger joint called DRIZZLES. Best burgers ever. They do offer pet friendly rooms. Pool was nice. No judgment, just an fyi, if you are from out of town, just know Shasta is a hippie town with a pinch of strange costume wearing individuals. Probably harmless but just not everyone vibe. read more

I stayed at the Treehouse many moons ago so was pleased to see it's retained all its better qualities: the intensely woody atmosphere (hence Treehouse) the great service at the front desk (thanks Shiann) and nicely laid out rooms with comfy bedding. The in-room fridge and microwave came in handy and this shower is nice and hot, WiFi is good and there's plenty of parking, plus it's an easy walk into town. In this very small town, it's a pretty great spot to lay your head -- though it is a bit spendy for a Best Western. read more

This place is so utterly under staffed that it is painfully difficult just to get any decent service at the restaurant. While there are plenty of tables, the staff is unable to get people seated for at least 25 minutes. Then once seated it is another 15 minutes wait to order breakfast. Additionally, during one of the busiest time of the year on Memorial Day weekend, the hotel is being remodeled. Right in front of our room was so noisy as they were scrapping the floors and installing carpet, the noise lasted until 1 AM. Then work started again at around 630 AM again the next day. At one point I personally asked the workers to quiet down because reporting the noise to the front desk was ineffective. While convenient because it is located right off the freeway, be prepared to wait and wait and wait at this place. read more

It ok. But the room is very old. I got the room that should have two rooms. It more like one with two bed and a door. Also the shower head is facing towards the wall so it very hard to use. And the floor is ripped up. Look at the pictures below. Only come here if you really have to. read more

We had a Mountain View 1 Queen bed for three nights. It was a small room but comfortable. There are two sinks, a small refrigerator (no freezer section) and small microwave, and a single cup coffee maker. Our room was on the ground floor and had two entrances; one in the interior hallway, and the second directly to the outside with a small patio and providing convenient access to the parking lot. It was very convenient for unloading and loading our car on arrival and departure. The air conditioner is relatively quiet so we were able to get a good night's sleep each night. My cell phone charger would not fit in any of the outlets in the table lamps. I had to charge it in the bathroom. There are no other available wall outlets. I recommend you bring an extension cord if your charger is large. The towels are on the thin and small size and we were only provided one of each per person. We could have called for additional towels but didn't bother. My husband wants me to mention that the television remote has minimal functions, making it hard to choose channels. For a hotel with a pool and hot tub, which we used, you'd think the shower would have a line to hang and dry swimsuits. Instead, we hung them over the shower curtain bar and dripped water onto the floor. There are four Tesla chargers on the premises and they are installing a number of general EV charging stations on the south and west side of the hotel. The location can't be beat. It's an easy walk to the main drag of Mount Shasta. There is a supermarket, hardware store, autoparts store and a bank across the parking lot from the hotel. While not the best hotel, Best Western name withstanding, it is one of the nicer places we've stayed during our many visits to Mount Shasta and we plan to stay here again on our next trip. read more

I have stayed here many times and am here now. The gal that checked me in was terrible. I asked for a certain room, and she just said "that would be like twice as much". Mind you, I have stayed in that area all of the time. I asked again how much more... never looking at her computer she again said "like twice as much". I took the room she gave me, boring since the hotel is quiet. I went to close curtains and the wand is broken and on the ledge. There are lots of options here, may look in to them!! read more

ADA access is not available for many rooms. If you're looking for a room that is somewhat upscale ( between no- tell motel and a Marriott) this is NOT it. Fitness center is a few stationary bikes. Rooms smell like they were just fumigated and the furnishings are from the nineties. And, it's pricey ($300 in late September) Nice staff! I hope you can do much better. I hear it's getting updated this Winter 25' from staff. Had an excellent stay for 3 weeks roughly. Nothing to report besides be weary of the breakfast restaurant- it's hit or miss. Parking can be a bear. No Smoking on property I thought was strange. I certainly understand no smoking rooms but if you're outside and take care to proper dispose of your cig waste aka butt... what's the problem? Nice property overall... has an indoor pool but with as many lakes, rivers, etc why would you want too unless it's winter outside? Comfortable bed, I experienced excellent house keeping. Brand new, fresh linens, towels, etc I did book 2 months in advance and received the best rate possible directly from Best Western. Easy access off the I-5. Encountered lots of groups and state and Federal employees staying long term like myself! read more

Cute cabin feel! Walking distance to downtown. Incredible views! We stayed in room 333 on 8/4/2025. The room was spacious and clean. The beds were clean and comfortable, pillows were perfect - and I have a difficult time with pillows because of my neck. Having two sinks was nice, one just outside the bathroom, and one inside the bathroom. The shampoo, conditioner and body wash supplied were one of my favorites, high quality. The AC worked very well. We had a balcony with a view of Mt. Shasta. What a glorious view! Yes, it is very close to Hwy 5, but I only heard a small amount of road noise while on the balcony, never in the room. The indoor pool is very large and crystal clear. The spa was not available because they were replacing the heater, but at least the gentleman checking us in told us that upon check in. We were expecting the breakfast that we have become accustomed to at a BW Plus, so I was surprised to hear that it was not included with our room. Vouchers are available for their on-site restaurant for a fee. There are a couple of restaurants, a grocery store and a hardware store across the street. Lots of cute shops on the Main Street just a couple of blocks away. Trees surround the property. It was nice to sit on the private balcony and watch the birds fly around with Mt. My wife and I stayed in room 222 at the Best Western Plus Tree House on 7/9/2025, it was not a good experience. This room has serious electrical, electronics issues and more, this room is a lemon! When we turned on the television at 10:00PM it displayed "No Signal", too late to bother with maintenance. GCFI outlet in the bathroom stopped working, "Test" button was frozen and "Reset " button was dysfunctional. Potential electrocution hazard and no working outlets in the bathroom...noteven for a night light. Outlets on table lamps are worn out, articles plugged into them just fell out. My wife and I have Sleep Apnea, we could not keep our CPAP machines plugged in. The outlet between the bed and the window has the same issue, only one plug worked so I had to move a small table next to the bed so that my wife can use her CPAP machine. I had to hold my machines plug into a lamp outlet using the weight of the machine to keep it plugged in. This is a serious health hazard. It only takes about 10 minutes to change a wall outlet. The alarm clock and telephone kept loosing power. Sometime between 3:30 and 5:00 AM both the alarm clock and telephone started flashing, the clock quit telling time. Both items were useless, it was a good thing that we were using our phones for wake up alarms. We called the front desk three times for issues but nobody answered. The curtain is too narrow to cover the width of the window letting too much morning light to allow sleep. The coffee maker was filthy and spilled grounds into the cup, nice if you like cowboy coffee. Generally Speaking; The rooms on the southwest are close to Hwy. 5 and very noisy, maybe a better curtain would have helped. The place is quite rundown and needs a lot of work. I'm not sure what the Plus in Best Western Plus means. My wife and I just got back from a 23 day driving vacation and stayed at 16 different places, some much older the BW Tree House including a cabin built in 1921. Nothing else came close to being as bad as the Best Western Plus Tree House in Shasta. I believe that many of the rooms at that facility probably have some of if not all of the same issues listed in this review. Best Western needs to do an in-depth audit. I'm not going to mention the dining. read more

Great spot for the family. Indoor pool and hot tub. Lots of places nearby to eat or grab snacks. Comfortable beds. Lots of TV channels. Close to Shasta ski park. People working there were great. We had a great time. Rooms and especially bathrooms are a bit dated. So is the overall hotel but the wood and other trim are part of the charm. Price is a bit high, I think 300 a night here is a bit pricy. read more

Booked through bring Fido as we travel with dogs. Place was old school but fairly well kept up. Staff was welcoming at check in. We appreciate that you can park right in front of your spot and walk the dogs right into your room. Place was dated but very clean. Super comfortable beds and an abundance of pillows which were very nice. Only have coffee and tea. They do have a restaurant but it wasn't open at 6:45 am when we were checking out. I would stay here again but next time if in the area I would stay at another hotel, some had great ratings, cheaper and included breakfast. read more

I booked the room in advance and did the early check in that they text you about (dont reccomend as it did not help) instead they gave away my room and downgraded me so i lost my mountain view and dropped from a king size bed to a queen size bed. The AC barely made a difference for the room temperature and the TV will not allow you to change the output, so dont waste your time bringing a firestick thinking you can watch hulu or netflix, instead you are stuck with their very basic tv channels. Very dissapointed that I wasted my time doing the early check in just for them to give away my room. Shame because i really used to like this hotel :( read more

when we checked in we got Violet at the front desk who I want to recognize. she is exceptional-very knowledgeable about area, gave many good suggestions about activities, restaurants etc. BW is lucky to have her. however, coffee maker did not work well,ants in bathroom,chipped paint and dated. location is good so I hope improvements are made. the deadbolt on door in our room broke and we were locked in our room for about an hour. Maintenance had to be called to get us out. I think it is time to spend some money getting this place in to better shape. read more

Location perfection for a traveler! Close to the 5, gas and food. Not sure why they have recent negative reviews but I think this place is GREAT! My room was small but very clean. Not like I needed a lot of room for just a place to sleep while driving back to Vancouver from so cal. Check in was fast and easy and my room was warm upon arrival. I got a Mountain View room which was blocked by trees but still beautiful. Lots of parking right in front of my room making unloading/loading easy. My room was, unfortunately, near an entry door to the building and people were very loud (screaming tantrum throwing kids, slamming doors, loud conversations, etc.). Strange to me people aren't more quiet in hotel hallways ‍ I noticed lots of electric car chargers which I'm sure is great for Tesla drivers. This location is perfect and charming. Lots of traveling workers were here as well, and ambulances and other government vehicles. I felt safe and they allow pets with lots of area to walk. Definitely will be back! read more

Clean, nice staff when you arrive, spacious. One of the reasons I picked the BW in Mt Shasta was the EV chargers in the parking lot. The only thing that would have been better is if they had J-1772s...I don't understand why every hotel along I-5 isn't adding at least a couple of destination EV chargers in their parking lots, and advertise this is a service, with so many EVs being sold each year. read more

No one answers the phones. This happens multiple times several days of the week. When the phone rings, someone picks up then quickly hangs up. This has happened the last two times I tried to call to reach the restaurant to call in a food order. I will never go back, it's simply not worth the hassel. read more

We came to use the Tesla supercharger on the side of the BW Plus Tree house. There was a power outage in the area and the supercharges were out. We couldn't go anywhere without charging and had to spend the night. We were so lucky there was availability in this nice little hotel. Bonus is, they are pet friendly!!! . We had a family suite and the rooms were very clean with ample sheets and towels. Fridge and microwave. Our room had an outside access to this courtyard that had a beautiful area and a well kept garden creek that our pup enjoyed a lot. Shout out to JAMES, the guy on the front desk... he was INCREDIBLY HELPFUL walking us through what we need going through this tricky hiccup. read more

We stayed here for 1 night , cant stand the smell.. i cant explain it.. Could be old carpet? It just really smells OLD.. and the drawer in our room has someone's boxers -i dont think they clean the rooms thouroughly. The bedding smelled like it was not changed before we checked in. And the power went out that night and it was a complete darkness. I dont think they have generators. I was hesitant to use all thats in the room after seeing someone else's belongings.. who knows what else is not clean. read more

We stayed here awhile ago, so this review is long overdue. It was a nice hotel and staff were very friendly. We had no issues at all. There's also a restaurant conveniently located in the hotel with many food options to choose from. Later that day we headed to Burney Falls which was really beautiful. When you wake up from a good night's sleep here, be sure to rise early to catch the beautiful sunrise overlooking Mt. Shasta. It's a great spot and you're bound to have a great time. read more

Very nice property. Could use some TLC, but that might be due to winter and possibly not able to do the outside work. The screen was off one of my windows, coupled with old damage where the room's "back" door (the one that opens to the parking lot, as opposed to the inside, enclosed hallway) had obviously been forced open, did not give me the best feeling about the security of the room. The swimming pool and spa were broken. I wouldn't have used them anyway. I was impressed I was called at home before my trip and advised. read more

I've spent all day in the hospital with my wife and I apparently am not allowed to rent a room there because I'm a local. Their reason: locals trash the place. I'm speechless. Not much I can add here that everyone else hasn't already touched upon, but I had an okay stay despite some frustrations, beginning with several visits to the front desk to get our room keys working (first one was demagnetized, then neither one would both unlock the outside and inside doors). Next was the jacuzzi being broken and being given no update, and that was with me calling the front desk and asking for the status each day. Lastly the room was filty - this wasn't immediately apparent, but we brought disinfectant wipes and all of them were black by the time we were done (mainly the upper areas like the tops of doors and especially the A/C looked like they hadn't been touched in a while). Otherwise, the place has possibilities! It's right off the highway, it's got a unique design, and it truly lives up to its' 'treehouse' name, with every last inch being covered in gorgeous wood; it doesn't hurt that the surrounding area and views take your breath away every time. If they could just do some remodeling and get items fixed a lot quicker, this place could be the most desirable hotel in Mt. Shasta. Also, they don't do free breakfast, which we knew ahead of time, but in this day and age of fierce competition, that would be a big plus for them...that, and getting rid of their swipe cards ;-) read more

The hotel is conveniently located near I-5 in Mt. Shasta . Masks are required. There are bathrooms near the lobby. The hotel is very convenient because of it's location and because it has 4 Tesla chargers on its parking lot. It's also walking distance to a few restaurants. read more

Comfortable and clean hotel which is conveniently located off the highway and very close to restaurants and a grocery store. The pool is very cold but there is a large hot tub. The on site restaurant does not offer a "free" breakfast with a stay but we found the food to be good (coffee was not good but it's available at no cost). There was only one server both mornings so be prepared to wait. The front staff was very professional and the manager gave us a discount on our bill when the water heaters went out on site. read more

On a road trip, and coming down from Portland, we decided to make a stop in Shasta. We are so glad we did! Booked a room here and chose the two room king suite. Little did I know that it was the Cedar Sweet and not only were there two rooms but a small kitchen as well. Very friendly greeting when I walked. The woman who helped me was excited that it was our first time to Shasta and the Tree House. She explained a little about the hotel, and the surrounding area. The room was on the third floor, and though it was on the highway side, the room faced Mt. Shasta and the view is great!!! Nice comfy beds, large bathroom with vanity outside, and a functional kitchenette. I decided I'm not leaving! Some may think it needs an updating, but I think it's fine just the way it is! The hotel is dog friendly, and Cako just made herself at home. As a guest, you get a discount on breakfast and I got ours to go. Normally we are on the road but we stayed until checkout. Chose this hotel over several options in the area and I'm happy with my decision. I paid more for a room with a view of the mountain. It's right off the interstate but you can't hear any freeway noise. Behind the hotel are a couple fields where people walked their dogs. There's a restaurant onsite (Cooper's) that is convenient. Across the street is the original Black Bear Diner and Ray's Grocery Store. Downtown shopping is about half a mile away. I'd stay here again. read more
