My husband and I stayed there for one week and when the original room we booked was not big enough for us, Julie was most accommodating finding us another room that would suit our needs. The property is lovely and we were fortunate enough to experience a backyard concert by Hattie Craven on our last night there. It was a magical experience to sit outside with music in an enchanted forest as the setting. The owners, Julie & Dan were so helpful with any needs we had and so hospitable...felt like we stepped back in time when customer service really meant taking care of your customers every needs...we couldn't have asked for a more wonderful stay...and to top it off, it was my husband's birthday and when we got back from his birthday dinner, Julie had baked a homemade cake for us...how sweet is that! If we ever return, this is where we will stay. The personable service, friendliness of not only Julie & Dan, but any staff member was such a joy. The breakfasts were the best I've had at a B&B, and Angie goes out of her way, in every way, to accomadate all rerasonable dietary needs and desires. While there are improvements being made to the facilities, the rooms were all very comfortable and extremely well appointed with large comfy beds , air conditioning and high ceilings. They also host periodic concerts on their side lawn which we were lucky enough to experience and it was a great community event. Hope to return to the Shasta Area and we would not consider staying anyplace else.!!

Cindy opened the Guest House to us and it was amazing. We spent every evening on the porch looking at Mt Shasta, smelling the pines and one evening watching a bear lumber down the driveway. Breakfast was served at the McCloud Hotel. We placed our order the night before and the meals were made to order, on time, a perfect portion and very delicious. Sight seeing, around the area, was really fun. We fished, played golf at the McCloud golf course, swam in the river, took drives and saw where family had lived. Cindy has pleasant staff and we enjoyed chatting with Nicole. This is an out of the way and beautiful part of California. I strongly suggest the Guest House or the McCloud Hotel.

They allow pets in certain rooms which is nice if you're traveling with dogs! I enjoyed how communicative the staff were. If you needed something, you can text a number and they were on it! They advertise that you may not have service here, but we had service and they also had wifi. They had great views outside on the deck. The grounds were nicely maintained. It was very easy to get here and right off highway 5. On the other hand, being a bed and breakfast I was expecting breakfast to be a bit better tasting. Breakfast is included in your stay. They provide fruit, yogurt, granola, juice, coffee, and toast. You get to also choose one main entree served with a side of potatoes. The main entree rotates so it's different daily. Overall breakfast could definitely be improved taste wise, but it's very convenient and nice of them to do this. Another downfall was the temperature in the main lobby/ dining area. They ran it hot in there and if you needed to get ice (they don't have ice machines, so they provide buckets of ice) it was all melted. This happened twice. Minor complaints!

I was so happy with my bed and breakfast experience that I definitely will trust my fellow reviewers in the future. First, Janelle was super accommodating and let me check in early because I would be attending the wedding and needed to get ready. She followed up with me on text message as to my arrival time to make sure that she would be there to greet me. When I walked in, I noticed my phone number was coded to the key pad entrance to the B&B. So cool! Janelle was there to greet me and give me an envelope with my key and instructions. I went up with her to the bedroom and needless to say, was so impressed with her style and quality that she brings to her B&B. The room seemed to be flawless in the way that she spent time picking out pictures and linens. The linens were even washed in a very nice fabric softener and didn't have that normal "hotel" smell. I was able to get the Sun Dial Room, and even though it was the most expensive, it was definitely worth every penny. There was a fresh, large bottle of water in the room with chocolates. I had free wifi and a nice flat screen TV. A jacuzzi tub. And oh, did I mention.. the best, most comfortable bed that I never wanted to leave? Top it off.. breakfast in the morning makes me giddy just thinking about it. I had french toast, a vegetable frittata, potatoes, chicken/apple sausage, fresh juice and coffee. Janelle served breakfast promptly at 8:30 and I was definitely there with bells on. There were spider webs everywhere, ceiling fans looked like they hadn't been cleaned. Even their own cleaning crew said it was bad. This was concerning to me because they charge everyone a $265 cleaning fee. Then when this was discussed with Lori, she was confused as to why we didn't bring it up at check in. I didn't know I had to thoroughly inspect the cleanliness of a rental upon arrival. I thought it was standard. Not here apparently. Lori was responsive but continued to make comments as things came up like "I'm surprised you're deciding to stay", as if we didn't pay $800/night to stay there. Their stove burners had issues the whole weekend, the slider wouldn't lock, they were using a PVC pipe for safety. House was very dated for the price. Views were beautiful but Wasn't impressed with the house at all.

The bed was very comfortable and quiet location made for a very restful night. Breakfast was basic fare but ample and tasty. Great way to get us on the road. Coffee to go was greatly appreciated too. Both Connie and Rick were welcoming and helpful. We enjoyed our stay and certainly would stay here again whether we were traveling through or staying in the area for several days.

My friends would say, "Sure, stay here when you're in town. Not a problem at all. We have a guest room, and a really nice backyard. Oh, you're bringing your bicycle(s) too? That's fine; we have a garage where you can keep them safe and dry." What would probably happen next is that we'd avail ourselves of all of this hospitality: my friends would cook us eggs for breakfast, give us glasses of wine in the evening, and let us go about our business in between the breakfast and the wine. And then, not ready to say goodbye to the weekend yet, we would probably go off on a long hike and not come back to collect our bicycles until nigh dark. When we finally made it back, my friends would be worried about us and would have already called around to try to find out whether we were okay. All in all, quite nice. It's good to have old friends in Redding.

In that search I located this lodge. I was kind of leery as I thought it might have been on a main road. Well, it's not! It's on a side street off the main roadway. We booked cabin #7. Cabin #7 faces the roadway where the parking lot is. Believe it or not, we could not hear people in the parking lot. Cabin #7 is two floors. On the first floor there is the only bathroom, a small kitchenette area, and a king bed. Upstairs there are two extremely comfortable queen beds! Literally the most comfortable bed I've slept in! The only draw back was the people sharing the adjacent wall. I believe their stairs are located where ours were in the cabin because we could hear them running up and down it all night. Once they went to bed it wasn't an issue. This Lodge is a self check in and out which was nice! Easy to do! The lodge is close to everything! McCloud Lake was fun for kayaking and McCloud Falls were right up the roadway. Highly recommend breakfast at White Mountain Cafe and dinner at Axe & Rose Brew house. We will be coming back and staying here again.

We stayed in Cabin #5 for 4 days and 3 nights. On our first day, the room was clean for the most…read morepart except for the toilet paper having small brown streaks on it... Chose not to report it to the owner as it was a minor issue. On the second day, we were in the room around 5:30 PM and noticed our door knob moving. We checked the window and noticed it was a shirtless man trying to open our door. We loudly said, "excuse me what are you doing?" and the man walked away. We texted the owner about this incident and asked if they could have this checked out. The owner responded by saying, "It was very likely another guest confused at which cabin was his. The area around the lodge is extremely safe." No indication that they took the time to review camera footage or checked out the area. We later confirmed ourselves that the man was a guest in the room next to us as he was outside next to his room. Later that same day, we were about to leave the room again and noticed that a key was placed on the #5 outside our door. We checked the key and confirmed that it works to unlock and lock our door. We were never informed that another key would be placed outside our door and we do not know how long it was sitting there. Anyone could have saw the key and used it to open our cabin. We immediately notified the owner and their response was that their staff was onsite to service other cabins and may have grabbed an extra key to our cabin. Owner didn't seem to care that an extra key was available to anyone who walked by our cabin. We expressed that we were concerned for our safety, but the owner didn't show that they cared about an extra key just lying around for anyone to grab.
