I don't usually give more than three stars for hotels unless there was something unusual about them for the price. I am used to staying in relatively cheap hotels and this one fits the bill for price. The rooms, were above average. It was huge with a table a couple chairs and the desk. The people at the front were super nice and the breakfast was great! Don't expect gourmet, but it was the usual breakfast that comes with an inexpensive hotel. Stayed here for 4 nights while visiting the Shasta area. It was a comfortable and pleasant stay. I had read reviews before booking and was needing something affordable to simply rest my head at night, with the days filled with local adventures. This Comfort Inn is right off I-5 and was a really convenient jumping off point for my Mt Shasta adventures. The room was simple and clean, as well as rather spacious. Pillows were comfy and the shower had great pressure with plenty of hot water. Nearby there was a Grocery Outlet which came in handy to store snacks and drinks in the decent sized fridge in the room. There were also a few gas stations and fast food places nearby that stayed open late. They do offer free breakfast which was until 9:30 on weekends and 9 on weekdays. The breakfast room is pretty cramped and not well laid out, but hey, free is free. They had the usual fare-eggs, toast, cereals and some grab and go items like fruit and yogurt. The property was pretty quiet even though the lot was full each night. Front desk staff were pleasant and check in was a breeze. Given, I was out on adventures from early morning until dark, I just needed a simple, affordable, safe, clean place to say. Comfort Inn fit the bill just great! It's also pet friendly for $30 a night. read more

Our stay here had a mix of pros and cons. The room was spacious and conveniently located near the front entrance, which made entry and exit easy. However, the cleanliness left much to be desired -- the floors had random wet spots, and the bathroom could have used a deeper cleaning. The lighting throughout the room was inconsistent: overly bright in some areas like the entryway and nightstands, yet dim and inadequate around the bathroom and sink. A noticeable smell lingered in the room. During our stay, a blackout lasted about 30 minutes during a thunderstorm with heavy rain, which passed by the next morning. Noise was another issue -- we were placed next to a room with little dogs that barked throughout the evening into the night. The complimentary breakfast was decent, but I burned three fingers on my left hand using the waffle maker due to the exposed metal handle. Thankfully, I could ice it immediately, but it made packing and the rest of the day difficult, and I was unable to drive for a while because of the injury. There didn't appear to be any obvious ADA accommodations, though the room did have a standard tub. Towels also felt limited for the room size. That said, the front desk staff were kind and responsive, which helped offset some of the rougher edges of the stay. read more

2.3.24: After driving 9 hours, we decided to stay the night in Weed as weather was getting iffy in the mountains. It was a quick and easy check-in and our room was pretty decent. Shower tub drained and the bed was comfy. The room has a binder filled with info like a list of TV channels, food/restaurants nearby, and possible day activities to explore in the area. What I liked about this place is when you walk in the hotel lobby, there's complimentary iced lemon water, hot tea, and hot cocoa as well as granola bars and lollipops. In the morning, they offered a complementary self-serve breakfast bar that had bacon, sausage, biscuits & gravy, waffles, bagels/toast, yogurt, oatmeal, cereal, fruit, and various pastries. read more

This so happens to be one of the most popular stops for those that are traveling before hitting the boarder of Oregon or coming into California. We stayed here for two nights and noticed the influx of customers around 1900-2200 and then the parking lot cleared out around 0800 the next morning. Comfort Inn offers continental breakfast so I can only imagine that being one of the many perks for travelers but there were a few things that I did notice that other reviewers had pointed out. Some of the walls were dirty, the shower head leaked and both the drains in the shower and sink wasn't draining properly. Aside from those issues, our stay went well. The bed, fridge, and microwave was clean, The AC unit worked great, no questionable odors, and the staff was pleasant enough to allow us to visit the pool for an hour after closing. We found that the price was cost efficient, especially with the proximity to Mount Shasta and the convenient distance from the highway, as well as the surrounding fast food areas for a quick bite to eat. read more

The only thing good about this place was the guy at the desk and was nice and that it just off the freeway. Staff in a local restaurant were good too. If we hadn't been driving for nine hours or more, I would've canceled our reservations right then and there and drove to the next town I stayed there with my adult daughter on July 20, 2025. It was disgusting the description on the website says clean rooms, and a restaurant. None of that existed - no restaurant not well cared for - not just old. I've stayed in several hotels that were old and needed remodeling, but at least they were decent and clean. I was surprised that AAA was designated this as a hotel. I have stayed in Comfort Inns before, but I've never had this experience. The carpet in the room was torn, the curtains had holes in them, the couch had holes and stains, and when we went to bed and turned off the lights, the light in the hallway shined around the door- yes, as if the door was too small for the frame. Room is comparable to a standard Sheraton room. Refrigerator and microwave in the room. Came here for a work trip and it has all of the essentials including a desk and free wifi. Work brought me to the Mt Shasta area for a couple of nights. I have stayed in Comfort Inns before so felt this would be a safe bet. The first two questions people want to know: is it clean and is it comfortable? Simple answer to that is YES to both. I slept great both nights and had no issues with the cleanliness of the room or facility as a whole. So why only two stars? A few reasons. First is that it seemed outdated. Furniture was older and in some ways a little beaten up. It did not meet what one expected for a Comfort Inn. I would have labeled more of a Quality Inn but with better mattresses and an elevator. Speaking of elevator: slow! For only being 3 floors this elevator takes awhile to arrive only to find no one was using it. Another inconvenience was the luggage cart. There's only one so if that certain someone who feels returning the cart is beyond them happens to have it, good luck. The morning I checked out there were two people waiting for it to reappear. One advantage of this facility is that is does have a car charging station on the property. It is also walking distance to a decent Mexican restaurant (see my review on it) and a couple of fast food places. In the end it did its job well as a place to stop for the night. read more

We were surprised she gave us a handicapped room Shower was a miserable experience for two tall people. We should have changed rooms, but had already unpacked our things. The evening clerk was very rude when I asked for extra towels. Did not say a word and did not respond when I thanked her. The grounds had litter all over the place. Parking lot had trash, side door with lots of cigarette butts. Not very clean at all. Cannot recommend this place. Spend a little more and stay at the Best Western. read more

We got the Mary's Suite for just around $120, which included a king bed and a TV in 1 room; a multi-room suite with sink, microwave, refrigerator, coffee maker, sectional couch, TV, and fireplace in one room; and a jetted tub in the bathroom. The room made us feel pretty fancy and the bathroom felt like a spa. Great price for the room! We sanitized things upon coming in just in case, but overall the place felt clean and spacious and well-kept. Good TV selection. The couch was lower quality, with a dip from where everyone sat on it, but still comfortable. The bed was comfortable and cushy. There was an A/C in each room that functioned pretty well. The jet tub was so nice but sadly our jets were not working when we stayed. The front desk staff was straightforward and helpful. Due to COVID, no hot breakfast was offered, but Quaker chewy bars, Nutri-grain bars, Go-Gurt, Capri Sun, coffee, hot water, and lemon water was offered 24/7 in the lobby. They allow dogs here, but when I checked in they said $20 pet fee, whereas Expedia said it was $10, which they were accommodating about. There is also a pool and a jacuzzi outside, which looked inviting if it were open (closed due to COVID and winter). The place is in the middle of nowhere, but surrounded by gorgeous mountain peaks that was stunning to see at sunrise. It felt safe here and I didn't see any homeless or trash around the hotel. I would want to book this place again, maybe even stay here for a ski trip. read more

We stay here every so often when traveling from our home in Reno to visit family in Oregon. On this occasion we booked a king room online a few weeks in advance. We most often do this when we travel in the winter because the weather can really impact our drive if there is snow or ice. And, it is easier to split the drive because this is about the half way point. We arrived about 5:30pm and went to the counter. We saw someone sleeping on the couch in the lobby with their shoes on the floor next to them. At the counter we were upgraded to a king suite and we mentioned something to the front desk person about the man sleeping on the couch. He said "he knew he was there but did not do anything because it was Christmas." We went to our room and were very pleased. The king suite includes a seating area, a small kitchenette style area with a small sink, microwave, refrigerator and table with chairs. Overall the place isn't fancy but it is clean, quiet and comfortable and we slept well. read more

Disappointment. The website lies. A "corner" room should include at least 2 sides, right? Our 1 side consisted of a barren field augmented by a caravan of neverending noisy semis rolling by. A suite it was NOT. The front staff was inexcusably ignorant of the fact that we had booked 5 weeks in advace and so our "suite" was unavailable. Weed is about half way between Sacramento CA and Bend OR and an almost must place to stop if you do not want drive US-97 after dark. We have made two stops at this hotel. The rooms were clean and the beds comfortable. I'm both cases the bathrooms left a lot to be desired. Every step in the shower caused the tub to creak. I was afraid that it was going to break. On a whim, I just looked up any hotels located in Weed, and this hotel popped up first. I didn't read any reviews; I just called and luckily a very friendly person answered the phone! I was already stressed because the snow was getting out of control, and the lady on the other end of the phone was so calm. I knew this hotel was going to be a great one! Upon checking in, we were greeted by that very same friendly lady. Our room was great! It was huuuuge! There was also a microwave and fridge inside. The bathroom was great, and I liked the beds. They even have HBO. The pool area even has a spectacular view of Mt. Shasta! And it was a very short walk to Starbucks, McDonald's, and Grocery Outlet. Really disappointed in this hotel. Went with my parents, kids and my aunt and cousins. We got 3 rooms. First off my kids were really excited to use the pool which is why we booked here. Unfortunately the pool was filthy and couldn't use. Our keys kept being deactivated and we'd have to take back and have the front desk reactivate. Also, the ice machines had no ice, which their was a note on them saying, "ice at front desk" well they said the manager didn't get any, so for the 3 days we were there never had ice. I'm local and had several family members rent rooms at this hotel for my sons graduation. Not one room was clean, holes in sheets, hideaway bed has apparently not been cleaned in years, if ever. Staff was in accommodating and indifferent to the uncleanliness of the rooms- The pool was disgusting dirty- and the hot tub was filthy as well- health code violation dirty- Other families were apparently having an awful experience since several other guests were yelling at the staff about their bad experiences too.... Do not recommend this hotel... it's just too unkept. read more

Terrible experience. On our way to Washington we decided to stay here. Big mistake. First I called to reserve a room. I SPECIFICALLY asked for a first floor room as we wanted to be able to see our car and it's easier on my husband. Of course I was assured a room. When we get there, the girl changes the story and there's no first floor room. So my husband persists and MIRACULOUSLY a room is available. My husband goes to open the room and what do you think he finds????? A naked man on the bed talking on his phone. Honestly I wouldn't believe it unless I was there. The ditzy girl at the front says "I thought he left". Geez. So my husband is fuming and they give us another room on the first floor. In the morning they offer... "breakfast ". The coffee was from the day before and as cold as ice. Trash in the "breakfast " room is overflowing and there's no food to speak of and everything is dirty. We stayed in this hotel on the way back from Oregon. We checked into this hotel late at night and the clerk was very friendly and quick. The location is very convenient and also provides a beautiful view of Mount Shasta. The surrounding area is kind of sketchy because it is also a truck stop, however there are a lot of truckers around all the time so we felt safe. The room was very clean. It even included a living area with a couch, desk, and a small sink next to the microwave and fridge. There is no breakfast due to Covid, however they did provide a few snacks at the front desk during the morning hours. We were in this hotel for only 12 hours so all we needed was a place to sleep and this Comfort Inn provided that. Plus the price was inexpensive at $100 a night. We would stay again if we ever need to. read more

The only reason we ever stay here is because it's pet-friendly and we always travel with our dogs. We've been staying here on our drive from Portland Oregon to Santa Cruz California for a couple years now. It's getting worse and worse with every stay. For some reason there are no towel racks in the bathroom or the vanity outside the bathroom, which must cause more work for the maids as there's no place to put a used towel but on the floor. The carpet is dirty and ripped, the curtains are ripped and don't close all the way. We traveled to Santa Cruz last week to spend Christmas with my 89 year old father in law. Upon entering on the night of December 23rd, we noticed the automatic doors weren't working. We had to pry them open, and there was a note asking us to please close them after entering. When we checked in again a week later on New Year's Eve they still hadn't been repaired. It was freezing and windy out, and every time we took the dogs out to potty we had to pry the doors open and then pull them shut again so the receptionist wouldn't get cold. On entering our room we noticed the smoke detector had been ripped from the ceiling. The lock on our door was broken, and as always the halls smelled like weed. Perhaps that's why the smoke detector had been ripped out. On the plus side, the staff is always courteous, and we don't worry about our dogs making any noise as it's such a dump. The free breakfast is nice, not anything to write home about but it's free. We will probably stay there again as it's not always easy to find a place that is pet friendly. If we didn't have dogs we would find a better place. read more

We reserved a king suite for the jacuzzi tub. I was tired and said I'll sleep on the sofa I just want to use the jacuzzi tub. The room seemed clean and smelled nice. The tub is broken and jets don't work. The faucet is a drip and I waited almost an hour for the tub to fill with warmish water. The cabinets are all falling apart. The walls and ceiling are peeling. I called for a blanket and pillow for the pullout sofa as I wasn't given any bedding. They said I'd have to come down to get it. I did. Waited half hour. Then Oh ok I'll get it. We were exhausted. Most usually when we have stayed at a Comfort Inn they are quite pleasant although not our regular type hotel. The lobby and exterior appeared well enough but the room did not. If we had not been so tired we would have asked for a refund and gone elsewhere. Before I really turned on the light I had already used the facility. The carpet in the room looked really old and dirty. I walked around in socks though and the socks did not appear to be dirty from the floor. The tv did not work properly. Had to turn it off and on at the tv; however, the manager had to turn it off in the end. The sound was so soft I could not hear it over the fan. The channel control on the remote worked but nothing else. The air control was difficult to keep at an acceptable level of coolness and thus too hot or too cold. The personnel were friendly and helpful. The bathroom behind the door had not been cleaned quite enough but otherwise it appeared to be clean. The shower water pooled around the drain. The sink pooled a lot and was slow to drain. The bathroom needed repair and it made it look unhealthy. Probably not the case but fixing it would be a huge improvement. There were large scratches from a dog on the door frame. The doggie area is just needles, dirt, etc and that is ok for this area EXCEPT nobody apparently cleans up after their pet and it is foul with excrement. We walked around and out with our pooch as far as possible so as not to step in anything or accidentally let her step in anything to carry back to the room. Makes you wonder though. I would never stay here again. read more

We get there at 3 am because we cannot make it to Oregon because of the storm. I asked if they took triple AAA for a discount & they said yes. They charged me what everyone else got charged for a night that were there 24 hours. We were only there for 9 hours. The beds were ok nothing special. Oh yeah the sheet had hardened snot all over it I kid you not. Gag me with a spoon the shower was not clean or the towels in the bathroom. I wondered who had been in there? An employee that was tired or someone who wanted a quick romp in the hay. The refrigerator worked well and their WiFi Wasserstein very good. They were cordial the staff but not friendly. If your using it for sleep just check the sheets to make sure they are clean otherwise I'd try somewhere else to lay my head down. read more

Great accommodations for a night, especially after a long day spent on the road. My girlfriend and I stayed here on 4/5/22. There was plenty of parking when we arrived that evening and thankfully our room was on the first floor. The rooms could use some updating and deep cleaning, but it was fairly comfortable and generally clean. The bed was better than expected, not too soft but not too firm. We could hear our upstairs neighbor here and there but I wouldn't say the walls are paper thin. I didn't get breakfast in the morning as we were in a hurry to get on the road, but it seemed like they offered some decent options for guests. Check out was quick and painless. There's not a ton of hotels in this area, so lower your expectations a little, after all it's not the Hyatt or Marriott, and you'll have a great experience too. Stayed here as our stopover on the way to Salem for the OR State Fair with a trailer full of goats. It was perfect for traveling with animals. Easy trailer parking and access to outside water to fill buckets. We were upgraded to a suite and it was lovely.
