The last two buildings that are left of the station with the station that has been closed and with the new location that has not noticed.
    Joel C.

For the many that have ridden the Greyhound Bus from the many other cities and the many states there have been many changes and the many cities may have moved stations around and there are other cities that have closed stations due to unforeseen situations. With the many years that the Greyhound Stations have been in service many times the Greyhound Service has been used by the military and those that are coming home from the service going home to see the family and friends. With the city of San Diego had one of the largest Grey Hound Stations which was located off the main street f Broadway and Fourth that was located behind the William that is now the Currant Hotel. San Diego Grey Hound Station was one of the busiest and when it was moved to 12th and Imperial with the new construction of the Hotel area around the hotel was changed over and the station had to be moved. When the station was placed over near the 12th and Imperial where the main MTS Transit and the bus stations for the Coronado and South Bay area of San Diego. From the many Bus Stations that have been here in San Diego have been changed over to the many Express and the many city busses that service the many malls and the State Parks. Greyhound Bus lines they were the ones that you would see coming down the side streets that would head toward the Downtown area where they would pull off to the stations that were behind the hotel that was the first station. With the many city changes and the remodel of the many sites Greyhound had to place the station to one location that wads close by the freeways and the offramps. In the bottom line the 12th and Imperial has been closed and the station has been torn down with the location of the station it was one that had problems, yet the station was able to operate. With an alternate station which has been used at the state park and the parking lot area which has n0t been verified will be looking for the new station of San Diego the farthest that is in the City of El Cajon and the next one that is located into the city of Oceanside. For those that maybe traveling by Greyhound you may want to use the Oceanside terminal or travel to the City of El Cajon Terminal which is located at the Transit Trolley station. As a Yelp Elite Reviewer there were many times that I had taken the trips on the Greyhound, and it was long bus rides and the many stops to pick up passengers the sounds of people sleeping for may you had to have a Walkman or something that can help you relax. The many grey Greyhound trips were in the most parts it was so many things to see, and the stops were many yet some of the places were of Arizona and the great Grand Canyon and the many stops in between. As a yelp elite with the many years that Grey Hound has done, they have been on the forefront of travel.

Not to be confused with Playhound (someone who never works) or Crayhound (the company with psycho bus drivers) (oh wait that is this one too). Located at 12th and Imperial is this transit station, which basically is the heart of all transit for the San Diego area. And we be talkin everything - from buses, both national and local, and trains and trolleys and you name it. The Greyhound station is basically next door at the Southeast corner of the huge terminal, which is pretty cool. It's right under the shadow of this beautiful city and its sexy skyline, and definitely one of the best Greyhound stations in California, despite being quite small, which honestly they all are.

I didn't actually ride the greyhound bus here. I am basing my review on the check in of my aunt who i recently took here. The location was actually confusing. Since I was dropping her off there wasn't even a clear sign to where parking would be to drop off Greyhound goers. I was actually disappointed in that. As for check in, it was rather a fast and efficient. They had bathrooms but only available to the customers riding the bus. There is a HUGE vending machine for all your necessities. I guess just the area of where this bus station location makes me feel like its in a sketch place. But you get what you pay for.

The service was horrible. Rene Cross the driver was very unprofessional rude and reckless. She was driving recklessly and was very rude to all the passengers.

OK, so the old SD Greyhound station wasn't great, but it was better than this crap. Mirroring another review, it's like I picked to "go straight to jail" card on Monopoly. I should have worn an orange jumpsuit. I used to love the San Diego Greyhound as I used to come to San Diego 2 weekends a month for a couple years from Los Angeles. It was a cheap, reliable route and the station in SD I was comfortable waiting at. Now, moved to a sketchier area of town and an outdoor bus station, this stop has hit my "never again" list of places. Even the Über cab that dropped me off here locked his car door when retrieving my suitcases from his trunk saying, "Oh this part of town, I close the trunk to see someone in my front seat about to drive off...keep to yourself girl." Geez. Moving on to service, I can understand if you are clearly homeless and they treat you harshly because they can no longer house those people (and they definitely did before, accidental or not) but when you come up and are clearly well dressed, well spoken, and very polite and they want to do a pat down to even let you take a seat, then there are real issues going on here. While there were a few super nice employees towards the end of my wait here (which was long because the bus driver of my route did not feel like driving that day and didn't inform Greyhound of that, so we had to wait an extra hour and 40 minutes while they found a new driver to come in) overall I was treated like a criminal on the run. I was talked down to, yelled at, all they needed to do was spit on me to make me feel worse. In the 3 hours I waited at this station, besides all the above, I was also approached by not 1, but 3 recently released inmates of some prison that just wanted "to chat". They weren't even riding the bus. So screw you Greyhound for giving me the pat down and harsh treatment as a law abiding, paying bus passenger. Meanwhile, these guys are within the Greyhound property, not searched or asked what their purpose was here, and freely allowed to roam around and bother paying passengers. What's funny is I didn't even use Greyhound to save money, it was the only way I could find online to get inland from San Diego (I don't drive so I couldn't rent a car). Next time, should this happen again, I will pay a cabbie $200 before doing this rubbish. Oh and please, don't accidentally leave anything on the bus like I did. I contacted every number on Greyhound's website, spoke in person to get telephone numbers for bus stations necessary (to a RUDE lady at Santa Ana I may add) and never got a single person on the line. The item I lost was around $150 and it was way more worth it to buy a new one that continuously call Greyhound's dead lines (no one answers any of the 7 numbers I was given...wtf). Amtrak wins again, even if I have to connect to 10 city buses later to arrive at my final destination.

Yeah, the SD station has no walls or vending machines, and it's in a not-so-good area part of town but at least they have a roof.

The station itself is older but that gives it some charm. If you're coming here thinking you're going to have a whole bunch of food options, think again. There's one little kiosk with a guy selling a few sandwiches and coffee. Honestly though the kiosk guy was great, really friendly even early in the morning. I wasn't exactly sure how this whole thing worked since I'm not from here, but the attendant was nice and explained that my train would have a line up starting 20 minutes before boarding, then we'd all board together. If you're taking a train out of here I'd give yourself extra time and bring your own food (but stop by the kiosk guy for a coffee, he's a delight).

The Santa Fe Depot was built by the bygone railroad of that name. I'm old enough to remember the advertising slogan "Ship and travel Santa Fe--all the way!" This is one of relatively few major railway stations that have both been preserved largely in their original form, and continue to serve rail passengers. It is a beautiful Mission-style building from the early 20th Century, and will give you a feel for what rail travel was like in its heyday. Gorgeous tile work and some nice landscaping make this a great place to wait for a train. (Search "Santa Fe Depot (San Diego)" on Wikipedia for more on its history and architecture.) For Amtrak passengers, this is a staffed station with ticketing and checked baggage services. Amtrak staff are courteous and helpful. The waiting room is large and has plenty of old-style bench seating. There is a designated waiting area for seniors and people with disabilities needing assistance in boarding. There are restrooms, but Amtrak often has difficulty in keeping unhoused people from making a mess or using the facilities for things other than immediate relief. So at times, not everyone will find them comfortable to use. In addition to the Trolley, the Santa Fe Depot is also served by several MTS bus lines. There is a paid parking lot run by a third-party provider. No free parking nearby. There is a small kiosk--the Silver Streak Cafe--selling food and drink. See my separate review.

My favorite line is the Blue Line as it's less congested and covers a lot of DT San Diego, all the way to San Ysidro! I took the line from E street and it dropped me off at 12th and Imperial which wasn't too far from the Hilton next to the Convention Center. The Green Line was cool too but it's arguably the most popular route as it takes you directly to Old Town, the Convention Center, Seaport and other major destinations. My ride was fairly quick, though not near as quick as the drive back once I bought the van. I was grateful that as a senior I rode for $1.25 one way. Yelp One-Star Review for San Diego MTS (Bus 2602, June 13, 2025)…read more Severe discrimination and neglect witnessed today on MTS Bus 2602. The driver of Bus 2602 refused service to a homeless man in a wheelchair who cannot speak or walk. This man has been seen daily for nearly two weeks--he is peaceful, clean, and causes no harm to anyone. The driver flat out denied him access and left him stranded -- fully visible to everyone on the bus. This is a clear violation of ADA law, civil rights, and basic human decency. To make matters worse, the driver is operating the bus at freezing temperatures with no regard for the passengers who are shivering, while he sits isolated in his personal climate bubble. He has absolutely no care or concern for public comfort or dignity. This driver should be immediately terminated and investigated for discrimination and failure to follow MTS policy and federal ADA regulations. His behavior reflects poorly on the entire MTS system. Complaint filed: Ref# 427-397-841 Formal Complaint to San Diego MTS (For Internal Submission) Subject: ADA Violation, Driver Misconduct - Bus 2602 (June 13, 2025) To MTS Management, I am submitting a formal report regarding a disturbing incident that occurred on Bus 2602. The operator refused boarding to a disabled, non-verbal man in a wheelchair who has been peacefully present in this area for weeks. He does not pose any threat, is clean, and has previously ridden the bus without issue. The driver violated ADA regulations by denying him public transit access and left him stranded at the stop. This is not only illegal, it is inhumane. Furthermore, the driver has the bus climate system set at dangerously cold levels, ignoring repeated discomfort expressed by passengers. His disregard for both public service and public safety demonstrates a complete failure of duty. Immediate termination and investigation are warranted. If MTS cannot enforce proper policies to protect the vulnerable and serve the public fairly, this reflects systemic failure. Reference complaint # 427-397-841

When the Trolley first started running it was only going to so many stations before it had to turn back and the Trolley Tickets resembled the color of the line you were on and very small tickets, so you had to hold on to them. City College is one of the main stops that can take you up towards the San Diego Zoo and the famous Balboa Park that so many take the Trolley to and catch the number#7 bus to the San Diego Zoo. With the ease and the access, you may never know there was a first YWCA that was very close by the station. The many Trolleys and the Bus Stations that are hooked in with the Trolley Line you can travel to the many areas of San Diego and those areas of the South Bay and National City and down to the International Border. With the City College Transit Station, it has been the main transit and transfer point for the many buses and Trolley and the mainline Express Routes that service the City of San Diego from Escondido and the City of Kearny Mesa with stops in Rancho Bernardo. As a Yelp Reviewer for the many years that I have taken the Trolley and the many Buses that have serviced many areas with those routes and the many transfers would Have come back to the City College Transit Station at the Hill before going into the City of San Diego. The two lines have been the greatest with the increase in security it makes it easier to travel and the use of the Pronto card.

Absolute perfection -- somehow managing to please an entire car full of people, which honestly deserves its own award. A week later, he picked us back up from the airport and delivered us home to Poway like the vacation fairy godfather he is. Great conversation, incredibly professional, genuinely kind, and the kind of person who makes the ride feel like part of the vacation instead of just transportation. This company struck gold with Jonas. After riding with him, I wouldn't even consider using another service. Five stars isn't enough -- give this man a cape and a raise!

We booked City Captain Transportation since we were traveling to San Diego with our 2.5 year old…read moreand did not want to lug a car seat through the airports. Booking was good. Except I made a mistake with the original pick up time. I put 2:45 AM vs PM. My fault. I had a very hard time getting ahold of anyone. (Email on website didn't work) calling they told me to email this was 15 minutes or less after booking. Finally I called the next morning and got someone. Luckily they were able to change it for me. Skip to day of arrival. Of course our connecting flight was delayed. I messaged city captain to let them know we were going to be later than expected. Our original driver still showed up at the normal time and asked where we were. I told them that I contacted the company and the rescheduled for A little later. He told me to call him when we were out of baggage claim. In the meantime, I got a message that a different driver was on their way to pick us up at the new anticipated time. I let them know our original driver was waiting for us. I didn't hear anything back, so I Joe they cancelled that driver. We finally got picked up and dropped off at our hotel. Phew! The driver was super friendly and understanding when we apologized about the situation. Fast forward to scheduled pick up from hotel to be take to the airport at 4 Am. I was texted at 3:30 that our driver was on the way. I stood outside of the hotel until 4:05 when I called and said "hey we were supposed to be picked up at 4 and our driver isn't here" I don't think they remembered. You could see their car on the map that was not driving. Shortly after my call it started moving. 20 minutes late our driver showed up. Luckily we were able To navigate through the airport quickly to make our flight. I am not sure if these issues are normal? We have scheduled Ubers before at 4 AM and have never had an issue. So It's weird that with a premium car service this would happen. I don't know. Everyone we had Contact with was friendly though.
