He was so nice and accommodating and just a joy to be around. It was a shame he was our driver because he would've been a great addition to our girls trip to party with. Love love love Keuka Taxi and Spencer. My early bday surprise trip was a huge success and a lot of it was because of Spencer. We used the service where they drive YOUR car so we didn't have to rent a party bus; however, I do know they have those type of accommodations as well. I HIGHLY recommend Keuka Taxi AND Spencer. She said it usually takes one hour per winery so she suggested two others and we "finalized" the itinerary. By the time we got there, however, we'd found one other we wanted to visit. I didn't want to be "that customer," making last minute changes, but when Beth showed up and sized up my husband and me, she said she was about to suggest the very same change we were asking for. That's a perk I haven't seen in these reviews, but deserves to be highlighted: these drivers know the wineries well and know which ones fit which groups. Bachelor/ette parties? Experienced wine snobs? Nerds who aren't snobs but want to learn something? Beth knew exactly which wineries would be best for which client. We expected to learn something at the wineries, but didn't realize how much we'd learn from the driver! On top of that, Beth was just such a lovely person. Far beyond the basic minimum of transporting us safely, she also came in and fetched us from one of the wineries when we spent too long chatting with the staff there and were at risk of missing our next reservation. And she was a blast to talk to! We felt we'd made a friend by the end of the tour, and next time we're in the Finger Lakes, we'll ask for Beth by name, though I'd trust that Keuka Taxi has many such wonderful drivers. Only a 10 minute drive to Watkins Glen and 16 minutes from the festival, walking distance to wineries and breweries, and only 1 hour and 20 minutes from Rochester. Second, this place is gorgeous. The farm house is on eight acres of land and still has many of the historic early 19th century features and charm, but with modern amenities like new bathrooms and WiFi. Each room has so many period details and charming features. Third, it's got everything you need for your stay: firepit with lots of wood and marshmallow sticks, fully stocked kitchen with some dry goods, bathroom with a hairdryer and fluffy towels, lots of indoor and outdoor seating, and more! We were also greeted by an amazing selection of local snacks like cheese, meat, juice and more. Finally, it's a cozy place to relax and refresh. The beds (there are 5 of them, along with 3 bathrooms) are super comfy, there's AC to keep you cool, and the front porch gives you a view of the lake. Excited to visit again!

A perfect way to sum up a weekend stay at this lovely B&B in Hammondsport, NY. Located just steps away from Keuka Lake, the town of Hammondsport, and a short drive to local wineries in the area, the Blushing Rose is a great place to drop your bags, hang your hat, and get relaxin'. From the moment you walk in the door, you are greeted by the owners with warm smiles and "make yourself at home" assurance. The first floor has a living room area where there is a guest TV, books, brochures for all the local wineries and attractions, and menus for nearby restaurants. Just upstairs you pass a game room with a table and view of the front yard, to get to the guest area. There are four spacious guest bedrooms at the Blushing Rose, all with queen beds and their own bathroom (I believe one room has a private bathroom just outside the door). I liked the Starlight room with a comfortable lofted queen bed and canopy twirled with white lights that you can turn on and off with a button by the bed. The Starlight room had a seating area with views of the back garden, a closet armoire, and a mirrored dresser to store clothes if needed. Just down the hall is a hospitality area complete with a mini fridge stocked with water, and room to place your new purchases from the local wineries. There is a table stocked full of shampoos and other toiletries that you may have forgot to bring along, as well as an iron and hairdryers. (As a lady, I much appreciated this). When you check-in to the B&B, there is a plate in your room with freshly-baked cookies and other little snacks. When you return at night from dinner and a walk by the lake, there are adirondack chairs that you can lounge in with a burbling fountain and lake view, or you can sit out on the porch that overlooks the sleepy street. AND!-there is another plate of cookies (new varieties) and tea waiting in the dining area for a bedtime snack. I am a cookie fanatic, so I was so terribly happy trying each one of the chocolate chip, ginger sugar and peanut butter cookies waiting for me when I got "home." The organic and home-made breakfasts are also incredible. I always have fun at B&B's because of the creativity that the owners put into their breakfasts. The first breakfast was private, at the dining table, with slices of pumpkin bread pudding, fresh melon with raspberry puree, and a delicious eggs benedict on whole wheat, served on china. There was also orange juice, water, and coffee. Light seaside music plays in the background, reminding you that you are indeed on vacation. The second breakfast, we were joined by our fellow guests at the dining table. Breakfast was a raspberry bread, with a plate of strawberries, banana, kiwi and strawberry cream. Next came what I would describe as a boosted pancake, with berries and 100% natural maple syrup. It was fun to get to know other travelers and swap stories. As mentioned earlier, Marianne and Sam make you feel like you are at home, and breakfast was relaxed, with the conversation free-flowing. After check-out, you are sent home with a care-package and a good sense that you had a vacation.

There were four long tents set up with different wineries on each side; over 90 wineries were represented. Included in the $50 one-day ticket (cheaper when purchased before June) was a winery guide book, a tasting glass, and a little tote bag. Each winery table had multiple varietals to sample, usually about 4-6 each table usually with dry, semi dry, and sweet options. Now I am a wine drinking pro in real life, but I am an amateur at The Finger Lakes Wine Festival because I was tipsy after being there for about 30 minutes and I had to call it a day after only visiting two of the four tents. The good news is a two day pass is only $55, so I recommend that option and seriously pacing yourself. I would also recommend camping onsite as that would be the most convenient and safest way to enjoy the festival. There are food vendors and other activities in the festival, literally something for everyone.

When I tried to tell her that wasn't right she insisted that was it I even tried when a different girl was there but I wasn't going to stand there and argue and make a fool of myself over a diet soda but what gets me is I paid $25.00 for NOTHING just to walk around they didn't even give me a wine glass! I called the Glen this morning and told the person how unhappy I was and it was pretty expensive and get nothing in return not even a diet soda and she said she was sorry and would talk to them!! This doesn't do me any good now so anyone who encountered this problem let them know this is not right I can't believe I was the only designated driver who was refused a soda.

Set sail for True Love, a truly enjoyable time!…read more Bottom Line Up Front: We had a wonderful, relaxing, and fun time for a good price. The Good: The history of the John Alden designed schooner is worth reading before you go. We had some more "salty" members of our group that recognized the name of the schooner from the 1956 movie "High Society" starring Bing Crosby, Gene Kelly and Frank Sinatra and after that we were on board for a wonderful time. We even were seated in the seats once occupied by Gene and Bing. We purchased our tickets after being approached by Terry who negotiated a decent price with us because he wanted a full boat for the next trip. Captain Bill was an experienced Captain and is well known in the area. He got us underway and was a delightful host regaling us with stories about the "True Love", Seneca Lake and surroundings, as well as, some stories about racing the "True Love" and his crew, Spencer and Marena. Captain Bill even assisted another sailing boat that was in distress and precariously close to the lake edge. The trip was two hours long and on time. The crew served non-alcoholic and adult beverages (some free, some for a price) while underway and also sold some souvenirs (Whisky and glasses). The Bad: There was nothing bad, from start to finish, this was a very enjoyable trip and the crew definitely enjoyed sharing their love of the "Trie Love" with the joyful passengers. The Ugly: Absolutely nothing other than we could not be out for longer. If you find yourself in Watkins Glen, this is definitely an enjoyable to kick back, relax, and let the wind fill your sails.
