I ordered a headset for free shipping from this store on March 12 and received a text from Chris the next day, which was on a Monday. Cool. He said he had the headset ready for pick up, and I asked him to please deliver it instead because my work schedule conflicts with their store hours. He responded that it would take me a few days for me to receive the item, which was fine by me. Thursday rolls around, I didn't hear anything from the store, no email notification, text, or anything about the shipment. And my order status on their website has been on "processing" since I initially ordered the headset. So I called the store on Thursday afternoon and left them a voice mail asking for the status of the shipment. Then, a few minutes later, I got a call back from Chris, and he responded that he would mail the headset that day. Remember, on Monday, He had told me that I would receive my item in a few days. Whatever. I asked him if he could send me an email with the shipping info, and he said he would. Late, the same evening, I checked on the status of my order, and it still showed that the order was processing. No email. Next evening, same thing. In the meanwhile, they had already charged my card and the payment had fully cleared on Tuesday. I am not a fan of being told one thing, then they do another, or in this case, nothing at all, no follow through on what they said they would do. It's been a week, and my order is still "processing", and my payment had cleared 5 days ago. I chose this store because I wanted to support a local store, but moving forward, I cannot recommend this store based on my experience.

Purchased a pair of JBL L100 Classic speakers from Chris at the Grid HiFi. Chris was great to work with, we discussed speaker options to match my McIntosh MA12000 amp, which was also purchased from the Grid HiFi in 2022. Very happy with my JBL L100s great price and customer service which included delivery to DFW from Houston. Will definitely purchase from Chris at the Grid Hifi in the future.

Kenneth was awesome. I went over there and bought a Naim Atom and I'm extremely happy with it, it was one of the best showroom experiences I've had. BUYER BEWARE Terrible communication from Chris and Taylor. Orders taking weeks to come in even after calling the manufacturer myself and finding out that it only takes days to get the item. I ordered a tv mount. It took for to come in. I paid $250 for it. The brand name wasn't even on my invoice. When I received it I found out that it was not what I asked for and it retailed on line for $79 to $89. When I asked why it was marked up so much I was told "our prices are our prices, is there anything else i can do for you". Like see you later? I will never step foot in that place again. I had an exceptional buying experience at Grid HiFi! Having seen their advertisements and online store I decided to give them a call. They have an extensive inventory of new and used gear at exceptional prices so I talked with Chris to get his recommendations for my system. He spent a lot of time talking me through my options and price points. I picked up some high end used gear from him at an unbelievable price. They shipped out the gear that day and two days later I received what appeared to be a brand new piece of equipment expertly packed. High hopes. Followed by disappointment in multiple ways. Audiophile dealer and this is the state of showroom, equipment and service? READ ON. Began with a good phone conversation about turntables and more. Arrived at 11:58 on a weekday. Door locked. Posted hours show OPEN. Called. Told by one guy, out doing installs and the other guy is out getting stuff...he will be back in 5 minutes. 5? How about 15. Not a lot of time, but 200% errorWhen he arrived, he did not greet nor seem in any hurry. Signal of things to come. As I waited I began checking out the place. Cluttered. Speaker boxes everywhere. Not keeping a showroom ready to show and hear equipment? Appears the focus is distributing Naim & Focal Finally, got service. TT had to be connected. Mounted LP. Turned out to be too dirty to play cleanly. Mentioned it and the guy responded that he could hear it, too. Did not seemed to concerned.. Asked about using their VPI cleaner to clean it. They are a VPI Dealer. Well, he said, "we sold it." High end dealer and they sold the floor model. None in inventory? None on order! Pulled another LP. I was also dirty and had multiple scratches. How is a customer to evaluate when the speakers are stacked, blocking each other, the LPs dirty, etc? VPI dealer that does not carry the Dynavector cartridges recommended by VPI...they could not find a means to order. And, after I went to the VPI Naim-Focal North American website, I find Dynavectors listed for sale. Sent the link to Grid. Never heard back on follow-up items or email. At the very least a complete waste of time. The good news, likely avoided deficient service and other post sale problems. Clearly, the focus is Classic Cars. Not this. Very disappointing. read more

immediate and great customer service. After a confusing cart and purchase they quickly refunded my money for equipment I didn't need. I looked at what I thought was an open box Naim Uniti Headphone Edition (HE). A short time later I got an email offer from them to take 15% ($450) off my cart with a code. So I went back to site and entered code and sure enough the code worked. But between the time I exited to PayPal and came back, the 15% was gone. And my credit card had been charged the full amount. Then I discovered I had purchased a standard Naim Uniti Atom and not the HE version. So I sent them a message, an email and tried to call. But it was after they closed. The very next day they called and said my charges had been refunded. So, since I did not make a purchase, my five star rating is based on their responsive customer service. read more

These guys are "high end" all the way, but will take time to work with a "low end" guy (like me) or gal to bring them up to speed on technical and personal options at a "reasonable" price point. They are not a big box store or chain outlet. They have (and/or can get) the best equipment available, but they do not "up-sell"; they let the equipment sell itself and they offer solutions within any budget. And they are nice to deal with. If you don't already know exactly what you want, shop around until you have a sense of what's out there and then visit with these guys to purchase the best equipment for your needs within your budget. Of course if you know what you want, especially if you have expensive tastes, make an appointment now. read more

After visiting a few local Audio shops I can attest that Houston Audio was thee best. Working with Eddie I was able to choose the best system for me. Eddie was invaluable to me. He was thorough and provided me with all the information I needed. He explained things in a way that was easy for me to understand (I am new to higher end audio). The after-the-sale support was outstanding. I cannot recommend them high enough. They have something for just about every need/want. The Demo rooms are well set-up with a wide variety of room sizes to match your particular scenario. Houston Audio is my go-to place for all my audio needs from now on. read more

Later that week, I asked when delivery would be attempted again. Modia then made up a story about the tv being magically damaged so they were having it RE-shipped from a far away location. After 3 weeks of delays between Nov.21 - Dec. 9, I finally demanded a refund. The refund was completed. Then I posted a negative review on Amazon explaining that Modia never delivered my tv. Modia then called me repeatedly, asking me to take down my negative review in exchange for a $200 gift card. If you view Modia's customer reviews on Amazon you will see numerous 1 star reviews that now have a strikethrough them because those customers likely agreed to remove their accurate negative review.

Great Place! moved down from Louisiana and found this place and couldn't be more impressed. Chris up there has been my go to since. I love supporting small local businesses over the corporate giants and he always price matches anything so why not!?!? Plus I got some sweet deals on some 2nd hand gear they were off loading out their HT room they were redoing. all the way around good people. very knowledgeable and have pretty much anything you need and are never shy of turning on all the rooms one by one to let you demo anything you want. I bought a sound bar from Grid and their customer service is excellent! Maybe that's to be expected from a high end audio place like this, but its especially noteworthy because I bought a pretty cheap part compared to everything else they sell and they treated me like a King! I had a problem with the sound bar and Grid took it back and ordered me a new one, no questions asked! Its been over a year since the purchase and the sound bar is still making me smile whenever I crank it up. Go visit Grid for your HiFi needs, I am sure you won't regret it! read more

I've worked with owner Jeff Pate in another venue for a good number of years and from my own decades of experience in dealing with consumers I appreciate his commitment to quality and excellence. Absolute 5 star service. You simply do not know what your missing until a professional cuts through the garbage and presents the best. Chris helped me find my projector, a finely tuned MadVR and amplifier for my system. I would not have ever found what was causing me the headaches without his perfect ear and eye for detail. Wow! This place is huge. This is probably the biggest A/V shop I have seen. The staff is friendly and attentive. I stopped in here when I was doing some traveling. My father was always in to klipsch speakers and I found the Grid that way. The store was a bit overwhelming but had a ton of speakers that I listened to. Ultimately I had them ship me a set of heresy speakers back home. Wife approved! I came in with my husband to look at the LG OLED tv for our bedroom. I never knew a place like this existed. They do everything in home electronics. While we were there my husband picked out a cartridge for his turntable and I got my new TV. I'll be back to talk about our pool sound system. I highly recommend this place. read more
