This is the first time I have ever written a review of a restaurant. Just came from the Grid Iron and have eaten there in the past on several occasions. Usually it is pretty fair, but this time I was a little disappointed. I ordered a dozen wings and fries. The fries were okay, maybe a little too salty but the wings were definitely left over from lunch or maybe the day before and re heated. They were dried out and hard. Not fit to eat. I can't understand why restaurants do this to their patrons. I gave it 3 stars because of past experiences. If it had been my first trip there, I'm not sure I would have given it one. Come on Grid Iron y'all can do better than this. Don't serve left overs and try to pass it off as fresh. I will say that the manager did make it right by taking it off my bill. read more

Out of towners here for fishing trip, so this was the only place close to our hotel. We should have just gone to Little Ceasers...not a bad place but not worth the money we spent. Bill with 3 drinks (beer/wine), an app, and two meals was 75 dollars. The corn nuggets were as expected, and the fried pickles just sat in their own grease. Potatoes were good but fries were not hot, on the chilled sode. The ribs were dry but coated in sauce (sauce was good though) but the rib eye was okay. Most tasted frozen or refrigerated for a long time. The good part was if you are single, you need to come here. Four of us were fishing at a lake in Alabama and decided to eat at Gridiron. The staff was friendly, courteous and quick to serve. The food was a disappointment. Two people had the barbecue chicken with barbecue sauce in a glob on top. The chicken was dry and bland. The barbecue sauce was not very flavorful, I've had better and more interesting sauce out of a bottle. The pulled pork was shredded almost like it was pulverized. It was crumpled pork not pulled. The pulled pork had the same barbecue sauce glop on top. For sides we had french fries, cole slaw, and fried green tomatoes. The French fries were soggy and limp, the oil was too cool and perhaps needed to be changed. The fried green tomatoes got a thumbs down. The cole slaw was the high point of the meal. We will not be back to Gridiron on our annual fishing trip. read more

Lunch service was good and food was great. I had buffalo shrimp that was heavily breaded but the wing sauce was excellent. My son got a burger he claimed was bigger than his head and was gone quickly. Has to be good when a teenager doesn't talk or touch the phone but instead eats it all and says I think I'm full. read more

Good atmosphere to watch game and/or Have family dinner. TVs everywhere and servers were very accommodating to change to whatever game we wanted. Grid Iron is a sports bar/restaurant you wouldn't expect to find in a small town but also maintains a family feel. Great ribs with white sauce! read more

Very good, great bbq and great service. I had water and hamburger steak with gravy and grilled onions, I had macaroni and cheese and green beans as my 2 sides, my sister had sweet tea and the bbq plate and with macaroni and cheese and a side salad (a $2 up charge) the bill was $24, a fair price for bbq. First I think it's always important to keep your "market" in mind when writing a review, so for Centre this is a good restaurant. The chicken bliss potato is huge and so good. It has white bbq sauce on it, which I had never heard of until moving to Alabama. In our party, various menu items were ordered.., wings, one burger, a salad, the aforementioned potato and a bbq sandwich.. everyone enjoyed their meals. took 20 minutes to be seated with dirty empty tables everywhere finally got seated and drink orders taken drinks delivered and order taken but then after 1 hour and 40 minutes still no food no check back with waitress or nothing people behind us came in got seated and was nearly finished eating when we finally left the service is so bad and the waitresses are not trained in CUSTOMER SERVICE at all! Love the white BBQ sauce. In SC we have tomato, mustard, and vinegar based sauces. The mayonnaise based BBQ sauce is my new favorite. BBQ pork is really good and so is the brisket. The kids can't get enough of onion straws. Stuffed baked potatoes are very good and so are the wings. read more

Went into the nasty place last night, had to wait for over an hour and half for our food, when you walked in the door you could smell the bath room, it smelled like a Vets office. Went to wash my hands, no soap, no towels, smelled like death. Honestly just like a Vets office which you could smell all through the place. Then when we got to place our order it was over an hour and half before food arrived. Orders screwed up, food cold, some food not even there. We try to make the best of it and eat and go on our way, well when we get our ticket, they have a 18% gratuity added to it, which was $5.49. Talked with the supposed little manager acting girl that didnt know what to say other than you will pay it pretty much. That has ruined my experience there and will NEVER go back and will tell every one I Know about how terrible the service and food was!! That is not the first time service and food has been that bad. My company likes for us to go there and eat, I will make sure that gets moved to Gadsden or Rome now instead of an establishment that wants to be kept nasty and poor service!!
