This is the Wingstop that started it all for me. Whenever I came back from Chattanooga or stopped in Fort Payne for work I'd go here. Chain yes, but this one is run the right way. Clean, friendly and always crispy well sauced wings with outstanding fries. It's not where you go on a diet it's where you go when you got a hunger for wings! I always prefer waiting and eating them there in the restaurant. They are just better right out of the fryer vs. taking them to go. Regardless love this place and make sure you stop in. read more

I eat at this Wingstop far more than I should. I like things spicy, so 5 mango habanero and 5 Cajun wings with ranch dipping sauce is my usual. The food is great! Wing masters, they are! I can inhale a regular seasoned fry all to myself despite the generous portion size, because their sweet salty perfection is irresistible. I am especially impressed by their COVID procedures. Only one customer allowed in the store at a time, and they will bring your order out to you if a line developed. A few co-workers suggested wings today around lunch time. I'm quite the wing fan and tagged among. I was skeptical but as it turns out this was a solid little wing spot. $10 and change 10 wings (2 flavors) fries and a drink. Small strip mall off the main rd in Ft Payne. Trendy interior with a few TVs. It appeared pretty clean. The employees were friendly. We were served hot freshly prepared wings and fries in a very reasonable time frame. I opted for traditional hot and half Louisiana Rub. The cashier also provided me a little Atomic on the side (their hottest option). The wings were big and of good quality. They were fried crisp! The fries were hot and fresh. I didn't 100% like their seasoning. Some salty faintly sweet salt mix. The bleu cheese was great! The rub was good mild as far as heat goes and flavorful. The hot had good flavor with not much heat. The Atomic sauce was meh. It wasn't even hot. It seemed like a weird Pepper mixture/ flavor wasn't great and there wasn't much heat either. Glad the cashier recommended going hot vs Atomic. I would go back for sure and will be more open to Wing Stop locations in the future if they're anything like this one. Good overall experience. They should perfect a good tasting hotter than average buffalo hot flavor vs the Atomic. An extra bleu cheese was 80 cents which is the highest I've see for an extra sauce. I'd like a seasoned or salted option for the fries bc the mixture they used isn't for everyone. I saw a considerable number of patrons skipped the fries. Don't know if that is coincidence or due to the weird seasoning. None of these minor issues are concerning, nor would they prohibit me from going back. read more

I wish I could give zero stars on my review. I recently ordered out and the food was bad (way over cooked) and the manger I called said his son cooked the food so it couldn't have been bad. I am a huge wing fan in general and I love Wingstop. I have been a dedicated customer since the place opened in 2000-2001 (?) and probably have eaten somewhere between 2-4 thousand (seriously) wings, in all of their sauces our the last decade. The main appeal for this particular Wingstop is that it is located across the street from the only semblance of so-called "nightlife" in town -- the movie theater. How the owner ever managed to convince the franchise (which is based mostly on the west coast) to open shop in the middle of nowhere Alabama is beyond my comprehension, but it has apparently paid off. Wingstop is never crowded, as most of their customers are just in long enough to pick up a phoned-in to go order. The seating is always clean, the music (though not my taste) is pleasant enough, and the kitchen is open so you can see how clean it actually is. The prices are fair and low. The original hours were 4PM-Midnight daily, however they have since changed the opening time to 11AM to cater to the lunch crowd. Moving on to the food... Wingstop offers 2 custom "freshly made" dipping sauces: Ranch, and the delectable Blue Cheese, which is in my opinion the main point that sets them leaps and bounds above any other wing restaurant as I am a huge fan of dips... Honestly, no other blue cheese tastes this way, trust me, I have tried countless in my wing escapades and no recipe found online can rival it. The great thing is that you can buy the sauce in PINT size containers, and, I shamelessly admit that I have enjoyed the container in it's entirety many, many times. Aside from the dips, Wingstop offers 9 flavors which suit any palette. They have a standard Hot, "Cajun" (which is actually just their Hot sauce with dry Cajun spice mixed in), Atomic (which is almost the consistency of Salsa made of pure pepper and it is obscenely hot) and the standard fare of Mild, Hickory Smoked BBQ, Lemon Pepper, Garlic Parmesan, Hawaiian, Teriyaki. For anyone wanting a "variety", I recommend the Cajun, Hawaiian BBQ and Lemon Pepper as those are my personal favorites. In all fairness to the rest of the wing world, Wingstop as a whole is nothing special, but they have decent sauces which all taste great and dips to die for. If for some reason you ever find yourself passing through this little backwoods town, please do yourself a favor and check out Wingstop. read more
