I don't usually leave reviews, and I honestly hate that I even have to write this. I simply want other customers to be aware of my experience. First, the good: my buying experience was excellent. I purchased a brand-new 2026 Chevrolet Silverado, and the sales team I worked with was friendly, knowledgeable, and made the purchase process enjoyable. Now for the disappointing part. I had the choice between a black Silverado (which I preferred) and a white Silverado with the Waldoch package. Since I wanted the black truck, I was asked if I liked the interior, wheels, running boards, and blacked-out package on the white truck. I said yes, and it was agreed that I would purchase the black truck and those features--or in the case of the wheels, similar wheels of my choosing, which I specifically asked about before signing the loan documents--would be installed on my truck. Based on that agreement, my wife and I signed the paperwork and completed the purchase. Two days later, I was given a rental while my truck was taken to have the upgrades completed. About a week later, I got my truck back, and I loved the overall look. Unfortunately, several parts of the agreement were never fulfilled: * I was never given the opportunity to choose my wheels. * My original factory wheels and tires were never returned to me. * The interior was never upgraded. * The blacked-out paint began chipping within a month, requiring another trip back to have it redone. I reached out multiple times for answers and even spoke with the service department during oil changes. To their credit, the service staff genuinely tried to help and seemed just as frustrated as I was that I wasn't getting clear answers. Eventually, I decided to accept the situation because I'm not someone who enjoys complaining, and the entire experience made me uncomfortable. Later, I discovered that the tires rubbed when turning. I decided I would pay out of pocket to install a lift kit, since I no longer wanted to rely on the dealership to resolve issues related to the modifications. My only question was simple: What type of lift kit can I purchase that will not void my warranty? Over the past eight months, I've stopped in at least five times and made countless phone calls trying to get that answer. Unfortunately, I still haven't received one. This was my first brand-new truck, and spending over $60,000 should have been an exciting experience. Instead, it's disappointing to be making payments on a vehicle that isn't what I agreed to purchase because the commitments made during the sale weren't fully honored. I intentionally chose not to mention any employees by name because I don't know what happened behind the scenes. It may have been completely outside of the salesperson's control, and I never want to jeopardize someone's livelihood. My goal isn't to attack anyone personally--it's simply to share my experience so others understand what happened and hopefully encourage better follow-through on commitments made to customers. read more

BEWARE!!! Kunes Chevy in Milwaukee Metro Mall, not Griffin anymore. I called Kunes about the availability of a vehicle the morning of 8/7/2026. I was told the vehicle was sold. It was on their website as well as Car Gurus as being available at that time and six hours later so I decided to call and make sure the vehicle did indeed sell, ( just in case financing fell through ) and was told the vehicle was still available. I asked the salesman Lalo three times to verify because I was told earlier in the day it was sold and I live an hour away from the dealership. He said " yes it is available (three times) and when would you like to make an appointment to come see it?" I made the appointment for a little over an hour later and he asked if anything would change text the number he sent me. So I still was not convinced and wanted to verify the vehicle was there one more time before I left so I called back a few minutes later and spoke with a different salesman and again asked several times to verify the vehicle was there and available. He said "yes it is still available" . He saw my appointment was already made by looking at my phone number so I said I will be there in about an hour. I drive there, go to the front desk and let them know why I am there and the person at the desk says Lalo is gone for the day so he will work with me. We go to a sales station, he asks some questions and says he'll be right back, assuming he's going to get the keys. Comes back a minute or two later and says the vehicle is sold. I tell him I would like to speak to the manager so he goes and gets Mark, one of the sales managers. I tell him I'm pissed and how many times I asked the two salesmen to verify availability. He tells me the car was sold a few days ago and starts blaming it on call centers and tells me "it's not on my end" when a vehicle is sold off their lot it's off right away. He then asks me who I spoke with and I tell him "Lalo" and he looks me in the eye and says "never heard of him, he must be at a call center, happens all the time" and apologizes for the inconvenience. So while I'm on my hour long return trip home I decide to call the number that I spoke to Lalo on and get the Kunes phone menu. Press #2 for sales and was connected with a very nice lady asking how she could help. I asked her location and she told me she was at the Milwaukee Metro Mall where I had just left, not a call center like Mark the lying sales manager told me. After verifying her location I described "Mark" and asked to speak with him. After a few minutes on hold she came back, knowing my name and said Mark was busy with a customer so she gave him a message to call me back. I then asked her if there is a salesman there named Lalo and she said "yes". So Mark the manager lied to me several times. ( He is a car salesman after all). I got home, checked the web site and Car Gurus and now it's gone. And Mark the lying sales manager never called me back. I wish I could give them zero stars for their ineptitude and lies. Griffin Chevy in the Milwaukee Metro Mall was bought by Kunes. I DO NOT RECOMMEND spending your money here. Griffin was hands down a better company. Here's my last & final encounter with Kunes. Friday April 24, 2026 my husband and I dropped off our vehicles for diagnostic. We both received text messages stating what was found but no one ever called us on Friday to say when our vehicles would be ready for pick up. Damien was the service advisor we were working with. He never called and when I called at 4pm (after I was done working) to check on our vehicles I was told that Damien was gone along with 90% of the techs and advisors. I requested to speak to a manager or someone who could help me since we were without any vehicles on a Friday and the shop wouldn't be back open until Monday. Steve called me and told me he could give me a loaner so we would have some sort of transportation. Kudos for Steve stepping up when he was not the technician nor advisor that was working with us. Monday I received a call from Damien to let me know someone made a mistake or there was a glitch in their system but no labor was added to the estimate for repairs they texted me with on Friday. My repair estimate went from $2400 to $4500 on a 2016 vehicle. I stated to Damien that I'd talk to my husband but I'd most likely go to ANOTHER DEALERSHIP and purchase a new vehicle. I put emphasis on going someplace else in hopes that Damien would show he gave AF. I did find out that on Friday, Damien was more interested in getting to the Brewers game than to call me or my husband to let us know we'd be without a vehicle until at least Monday. Ramses (Sales advisor) and Tony (Sales manager) at Lake Chevrolet on South 27th street were a breath of fresh air and the kind of service we desperately was hoping to get from Kunes seeing that we'd been a customer of Griffin Chevy for over 10yrs. Kunes you lost loyal customers and lost out on selling 2 brand new trucks (2026 Silverado RST & 2026 Equinox) that we purchased from Lake Chevrolet. I'm telling everyone I know not to do business with Kunes. Oh I forgot my husband's 2016 vehicle was brought in for check engine light and hesitation when pushing the gas. Accord to Kunes they test drove it and when they got off the highway it made a noise and was no longer able to be driven. We asked if it could be towed across the street to CarMax so we could sell it and we were told no we don't have a tow. Poor customer service at its finest. I some times need to get my hands on a gm original replacement part that one dealer will tell me they need to order but I want it now. I generally will go to who has what I need when I need it and if I can drive a little to get it when I need it I will. I will go to who who ever helps me get the job done and Griffen Chevrolet was the closest today with what I needed. Griffen Chevrolet is by far has the nicest parts department from all the other Gm stores that I have been to. The staff is always great and friendly when I do business with them. read more

This review is for TJ at the body shop, 5-stars for him I brought my car in for body work. He is a professional and took care of the repairs. Car looked like it was new. Needed rear valance/fasica, bumper cover repaired. Also needed front fasica, grille/emblem, and hood repair/replaced for new repair. Did tell me that if I kept the hood that there would be a crease in the repaired result. Maybe I could have lived with that, I just prefer saving parts. No issue. Kind of surprised the number of dealers that don't have body shops. I would consider bringing other cars here, with him in charge. I did end up finding one of the floor mat anchors under the seat. Not sure why they were removed, but one is enough to stop the slipping. Also 1-star for that one fired service advisor attempted to force and harass me into warranty work that I did not authorize. I got into a hot arguement with him on the phone to just give my car back. Seemed to be working off of commisison the way he was. read more

I get with COVID being around sales guys get a little bit desperate to make a sales but Pete and his sales manager Nick both promised me that if I put a down payment on the truck I chose while I get my loan ready with a bank it would not get sold. I put a couple hundred dollars down and we set an appointment for me to come in the next day around 3-330pm. The morning of at around 9am, nick calls me to confirm my appointment while I'm at work so I couldn't answer (I work outside in the cold). When I finally had time to look at my phone nick had already sent me a message saying that if I didn't get back to them in 10 min the truck was going to be sold. So that's what they did. Terrible service. Errick Clay refused to look at my rebate, and I stated I wanted full synthetic oil, he did the oil change with conventional oil. When I asked to speak to the manager he gave me a hard time . Tim is a nice guy, but Errick is terrible at his job. I cannot handle this level of incompetence. I waited an hour and Errick wanted me to wait another hour to correct it. Tim was helpful and had it done in 20 minutes. If anyone at Griffin is reading this, you need more people like Tim. Errick should either be removed entirely or placed in a position where he does not work with people. read more

Be very caution and prepared if you plan to purchase a car from Griffin Chevy. First and foremost, multiple people At Griffin told me KBB/CarFax/Guru/Edmunds/you name a creditable car pricing site, was not accurate and they do not agree with the pricing. Even when multiple sites produced the same price range. This is a wild stance I've never seen from a car dealership and the fact it was all the staff I talked with, means it is coached that way. 2nd-Whatever their initial trade in offer is, you can 100% get them up at least another $1000-$2000, depending on the actual KBB value of your car. They lowball that offer and when you disagree, they will tell you your car is garbage and they will probably just use it for parts (even my 2016 $20k SUV). Ya ok! Finally, if they give you a "final, rock bottom price", it's BS. They will continue to come down. Set your own rock bottom price and be prepared to walkout. They WILL call you, Email you, Text you. The GM, Manager, Experienced Sales person, Expert sales person, "owner" (nice try), will stay in contact with you and continually lower the price. In short, Griffin uses every sales tactic in the book. Their cars are extremely over priced, their trade in offers are a joke and the staff is arrogant and will talk down to you (they must not know the internet exist). Do your own research, set your price cutoff and be prepared to play the game. I'm really glad I cut off communication and bought from a neighboring dealership. Tried to call them to see if they could fix our son's car. I spoke with someone by the name of Matt. Matt listened to my questions and said, "hold on a minute". I then was transferred into someone's voicemail. I hung up and called back as I wanted to get an answer. Repeatedly, I was just put on hold and no one answered. I then got annoyed, and called to speak with the Service Manager. I then was put on indefinite hold. I'm assuming they had caller ID and saw it was me calling back and just left me hanging there. I found a different auto dealer to fix my son's car. Very disappointing that they couldn't even try to answer my questions. They lost a potential customer and big job as it cost $10,000 to fix my son's car. Will never go here for anything. read more

I don't recommend going here for a car.The head GM promises you all these things and can't even deliver yes or no questions. The staff there clearly does not know what they're doing. Was interested in a few cars and nothing went as planned because they didn't know what they were doing. The GM Brad said that he was going to do all these things to make it work and couldn't follow through on one thing not even a phone call back. But that's a typical car salesman for you I promise you the world just to get the sale but that can't even work because they can't even commit to getting the sale done.There are many other dealerships for Chevrolet I highly do not recommend this one. In addition Lorraine, I can show you pictures of how I contacted Brad three different times and was completely ignored. I have time to take the screenshot. I also have documentation on asking him if I still had the loan I did not get an answer. He told me he would hold the car for three months he never did that. When I called to see if the vehicle was still on hold I was told it was released. After an initial review of Griffin's poor service dept, and their rude I guess you would call managers, I received a response from Lorraine Griffin, who basically glazed over things, and obviously didn't read what I posted. The facts are as follows: 1) I scheduled an oil change, I was contacted by Griffin and asked to do so. I felt this was a bit unusual, but I was planning to come in and have this done anyway. My appointment was for 8 am on a Saturday, I saw at least 5 individuals come in and receive service before me. I waited for almost 2 1/2 hours, I had a windshield wiper blade "Replaced" it was badly defective. They did after several calls have someone replace it. Now, let's back track to the day before the appointment. Someone from Griffin called to verify this appointment. As it turned out, they were trying to get me to refinance with Griffin, which under no circumstances would have been a better deal, or a good idea. 2) I had an engine warning light come on, I contacted Griffin to advise me. They directed me to Auto Zone...I was like huh? I did go there, the car was running rough. Auto zone directed me to get to the dealership right away. I went there, I was met with an abusive attitude, it was a Monday, they told me to come back Friday. Now, if they appeared to be busy, I may have had some level of understanding, but it looked like all the service guys were just hanging around, there were no cars in sight being serviced. The manager proceeded to tell me they were backed up with work. They didn't take 1 minute to determine what the issue was, being that the tech is there where they have had held devices to do so. They were rude, obviously not interested in my business. I went to a different dealership the next day, they were on top of the issue right away, performed need repairs and replaced the parts which were under warranty, and it is now where my wife and I will continue to have our vehicles serviced. Griffin's lack of ability to admit to being wrong, has cost them car sales for many years to come from my family. read more

My SUV needed a part replaced due to a Federal recall, so I went in for the repair. All the staff were very polite and professional. The waiting area is very clean and tidy, with a TV and magazines to help pass the time, free coffee, soda, water, and cookies, and free Wi-Fi, although I couldn't get the Wi-Fi to work. :( The repair took longer than the estimated time, which I kind of expected. Sort of like going to the dentist or doctor, you know? But all in all, it wasn't a bad experience. Just wish the Wi-Fi had worked! read more

The customer service of the auto body shop is unbelievably poor. My car was hit in a parking lot so I brought it to the dealer I bought it from to ensure quality and that it had a guarantee on the repairs. Griffin had my car for 25 days the first time I brought it in. In those twenty five days they never once called me. I called about once a week where I was actually able to talk to someone, any messages left were not returned in the 3-4 days I'd wait for a response. Every time I spoke with Griffin I was told repair work would be done in two days. The third time I spoke to someone (18 days in) I was finally told they had begun on it the day before and again was told it would be done in two days. As far as I am aware it was completed on the 25th day, however, they did not actually call when my car was finished I was notified when I called to check the status. The quality of the work done was very poor. Items the insurance company had said were to be fixed Griffin charged for but were not actually fixed if they were minor. I'm not sure if this was in hopes that I wouldn't notice them or that they truly overlooked them. Additionally, my car was returned to me with paint damage that was not there before and every one of the newly painted panels was obviously scratched or chipped. Pieces that were removed were not appropriately put back together and there was white (wax?) everywhere that was very noticeable and would not come off. In addition to the poor quality of the work, many items I requested be looked at were not. I gave Tyler a list of 4-5 things to look at and when I picked up my car he lied to me about having checked them. They only admitted to "being confused about which car I was talking about" when I called back to complain that the issues I was having were clearly not addressed. I ended up having to bring my car back a second time to get some of these items fixed but several were simply ignored no matter how many times I asked they be looked at. I also paid an additional $80 to get the alignment straightened after Dave said that although my car was hit hard enough on the front axle to be moved to the side a full six feet-while parked-the alignment was not affected by the impact. Within two minutes of picking up my car it was very clear the alignment had not been fixed as the car still pulls violently to the left. It has been more than two weeks since I picked up my car for the second time and issues continue to persist, I also still have not received the receipt from the second visit. When I followed up I was assured would be mailed and emailed within days, more than two weeks later I've received nothing. I have been going exclusively to this dealership since I bought the car almost two years ago because the car salesman was so great and the service shop had been fantastic even when issues arise, but my experience with Tyler and Dave in auto body was so poor I will not be returning. read more

I took my Yukon to Griffin for a new battery, and all of a sudden I needed new front brakes. The pads had 10% left and the rotors were rusty. I asked to see for myself and the front wheels weren't off so I could see for myself. I could look at the rear side but it was dark. The following day I had to leave for an out of town trip and didn't want to leave unsure. I am confident that I was oversold and really didn't need brakes at this time. In conversations with friends that know cars they agreed. I have purchased cars, had service work completed and used the oil change service exclusively. I am done with Griffin. I don't have any confidence they will treat me professionally. Don" take your car there. read more

I took my wife's car in for repair at 7am and was told that the car would be ready for pick up at 12pm. At 3pm I called for an update and I was told that they hadn't started working on the vehicle yet. When I asked what had happened the person who answered the phone just repeated that they are going to start working on it soon and hung up on me. At 5pm I finally got a call saying that it was ready and when I went down there to pick it up they were very rude and acted annoyed that I was there to pick up my car. read more

When this dealership was Bergstrom Chevrolet, I would have (and did!) recommend the service center to everyone I knew with a Chevy. Yet in the transition to Griffin Chevrolet, I've noticed a sharp decline in the quality of customer service. I'm a loyal customer, so I thought I'd stick it out. Until my last service date on the 20th of June 2016. I came in for 75,000 mile service and specifically asked that my brakes and engine belts be inspected as I've been hearing sounds that make me uncomfortable. Not only did I not receive the inspection sheet that always accompanies my receipt and indicates the various things that are checked (I was told it would be emailed to be on Monday -- I have yet to receive it 2 days later, which makes me question whether it was even done), but there was nothing to indicate that they had paid it any mind. The service rep who checked me out merely said that because they didn't note anything, then there must be no problems. What kind of answer is that? Then, I get into my car and turn it on and my engine light is still on. I find it incredibly odd that during a 75,000 mile service visit, the mechanics are not going to figure out why the light is on and AT LEAST inform me about what's wrong. When I called to ask about it, I'm told that they noticed it was on. So no one thought to tell me? Someone came out to tell me I needed a new cabin filter, but no one could come out and say, "Hey, your engine light is on. Do you want us to figure out why?" Then I'm told I have to pay $89 just to have them plug a machine in and retrieve a code to tell them why it's on. I have come to the conclusion that Griffin Chevrolet simply does not want my business, despite the thousands upon thousands of dollars I have paid it over the last two years. I am not valued as a customer, certainly not since the change. I have made the decision that I will be severing any ties with your business and will never spend my money or time there ever again. read more

We bought our SUV from Griffin Chevy this past August. We experienced really nice customer service and never felt pressured or uncomfortable with the process. They did a great job with working with us and staying within our budget. We have brought our vehicle back twice, once for an oil change, once for repairs from getting backed into. Both times, the wait has never been long and they have been very accommodating. For the repairs, we had to drop the car off and they promptly had the car repaired within a few days and I received phone calls and updates along the way. Let's get real here, the real reason this place is getting 5 stars is for those AMAZING peanut butter cookies in the waiting room and refrigerator stocked with Diet Coke :) read more

My Camaro needed its timing chains replaced. After comparing prices at several different dealerships and shops I decided to get an estimate from Jason M Schmidtke in the service department. The quote I got was almost $1000 cheaper than the other places that I spoke with. Not only did they repair my car for a great price, but they also did warranty work and cleaned it for me. Jason was respectful, communicative, and stayed true to his word. I would highly recommend Griffin Chevrolet based off of the experiences that I had with them. read more

I was turned on to Joe Carinni, service adviser, by a buddy of mine that has dealt with him for years as I was having issue with two other dealers. First new vehicle I ever bought. One was Boucher in Racine whose lube tech did not tighten my oil filter and left lug nuts loose and one actually was flopping around in the hub cap. I went outside in the morning to find half a quart or more of oil on my asphalt driveway which had to be burned of and replaced. The other was Lynch. Do a search, You can read these reviews on most of the usual websites. Unfortunately most lube techs are not paid much, as most people are not besides the upper echelon, CEO"s and company owners, and that there is part of the problem. Anyway Joe and his go to guy took care of what the other dealers could not figure out and what I told them was wrong and wanted to do nothing but argue with me and deny anything was wrong as did GM. I have a mechanical background. I encourage you to search my other reviews. Anybody can do great selling a vehicle but where it really matters is when it comes to service. Most mechanics these days are textbook only and lack common sense diagnostic skills. No computer codes listed so there are no problems it is assumed. read more

Poor overall service. I had to bring my vehicle in 4 separate occasions for the A/C in my 2009 GMC Acadia, each time there was a new part that needed to be replaced. I even asked about blend door accuators but was told they were fine, until finally they replaced them on the last visit and now everything works great. The 3rd time I came in, they tried to give me my car with part of the dash not reconnected which resulted in more wasted time and a 4th visit. Both Andrew and Mike would not return my calls when I had questions. Mike is the manager. Don't waste your time, go somewhere where they value their customers. read more

I have been trying to reach someone in the service dept several times to get information on different issues. I have waited and waited every time to speak to someone but no one would answer the phone. I finally did reach someone after the 5th try. they were curt and acted like I was an inconvience. My wife and I went in to griffin to just do some looking as we were planning on buying a car in the near future. Upon walking in the door we were met by the General manager who talked with us for quite a while, he then asked about our price range and showed us a few cars, we were in love with the 2017 Malibu but feared it wasn't reasonable due to our lack of credit history. The General Manager told us he could get us that car, he worked diligently for 2 days to get us financing and this morning we got the call. Today she and I are now the proud owners of our first new car all thanks to the amazing sales team Griffin has to offer. I traded in my van in Feb, found out in April that Griffin Chevrolet did not pay off the loan like they were supposed to. When I talked to Tim, the finance guy who handled my loan, he first told me my husband came in and took the check. I told him I didn't have a husband and asked why he gave anything pertaining to my loan to anyone without calling me. He then changed his story, giving me 4 different scenarios, each untrue and tried to blame me for his mishandling of the transaction. The situation was resolved but should have been handled in an honest and professional manner. A simple admission of his error, and this review would have been much better. read more

DON'T BUY HERE!!!! I'm from out of state and I was approved through the bank for the vehicle I chose to purchase. They took my $3000 down payment then started forwarding my calls to vmail. So I call the bank and they say it's nothing stopping me on their end so I ask Dave again and he has the same response and says he just doesn't want to sell me the car. Ordinarily I'm not into surveys or testimonials, but my recent experience with the folks at Griffin Chevrolet in Milwaukee WI deserves a comment. I haven't owned a chevy for many years so I decided to give it a shot. Shortly after I entered the showroom, I was welcomed by the General Manager, Dave Landrith, who introduced me to some of his team, I was assigned a salesperson, and we were off to a good start. Dave checked in once in a while to make sure my needs were being satisfied. He also spent some time with me to discuss the pros and cons of leasing vs. buying. Admittedly, I went in with the idea that I would be pushed and pressured. Quite the contrary. Friendly, courteous, knowledgeable--all of these and more. like followup calls to make sure that everything was up to snuff. I know these guys and gals were only doing their job, but it's the way they do it that matters.
