My experience was not great at all. The Dr. was friendly but everyone else was very unprofessional. When I walked in there was no acknowledgement or greeting. The staff were all talking between them saying rude comments "thinking" I couldn't hear them. Not welcoming at all. They are not on top of their orders. I had to contact them because it had been 2 weeks and have not heard from them. They made some BS excuse. Don't recommend this place. read more

Wow. And I don't mean that in a good way! Just walked in, hoping to possibly get some new glasses. The receptionist made eye contact with me when I walked in, I smiled at her, but she was too busy having casual conversation about how much debt she is in to acknowledge me; she couldn't even return my smile. I spent several minutes looking around the store, being quite thorough as I am looking for a specific style, and not once did she ask if I needed any help. I went to get my glasses done, and it was horrible. The people at the front desk were nice the first time, with smiles on their faces. Dr. Griffin was the same way. I waited for my glasses to arrive, and when they did, the prescription was extremely high and they made me sick to my stomach. All they told me was that I had to wear them a few weeks or so to get used to them. I wore them. What they said was NOT TRUE. I even had to go back to using my previous pair. We went back and got my family member's glasses done, and they were very mean. They messed up the prescription TWICE, and when my family member got them, they felt fine at first, but after about 5 minutes, she was seeing yellow and white lines, and things that weren't there They also did tunnel vision on my glasses and my family members, which made us nauseas. I went back, and explained to the front desk why I wanted to see the Doctor. They were rude, and very mean. I finally talked to Dr. Griffin, and he was VERY rude. He used a lot of sarcasm, and had a very bad attitude. He even said "Don't tell me how to do my job, I'm the professional here." I would not come back her, nor would I recommend this place to family or friends. Don't go here, it's a waste of time and a waste of money. read more

It is not possible to give enough positive feedback about Griffin and our entire experience in a simple review. We've been coming to this and the Talega location for years. Dr Randy on Del Mar and Dr Patrick in Talega are great. Randy just recently helped our somewhat timid daughter figure out how to get contacts in her eyes. His patience with her was commendable. He took what was a very difficult situation for her and filled her with confidence to get what she really wanted. Together they did it! I walked in to Griffin Optometric yesterday to see if they could repair my Ray Bans (purchased elsewhere); one of the lenses had fallen off and I didn't have the screws. They took the glasses and my phone number, and called me within an hour to say that my glasses were ready to be picked up. When I showed up, they handed me my repaired glasses and said there was no charge - what a nice surprise! It was a fantastic transaction from start to finish, and when I am finally ready to ditch my readers for real glasses, I will definitely head to Griffin. read more

Been going to Griffin Optometry for several years now. Their offices are always clean and their staff are always friendly and professional. Recently ordered expensive sun-glass lenses (Oakley G-30 Iridium) for use while on the golf course. Waited a couple of weeks before using them on the course. Something wasn't right so I made an appointment. The glasses were ordered to the specifications that they should have been but when they checked my eyes, they changed. They did a no cost re-order of the new prescription. I feel so fortunate to be able to do business with them. I could not recommend them enough. read more

Can't even put into words how amazing this place is!! All the staff is so nice and accommodating! I had my 12 week old baby with me and he got fussy & hungry right as my appointment was about to start. Instead of getting mad, everyone was helpful and very understanding when I needed to nurse my baby! I'm very impressed with all the staff. I had a appointment to have my eyes tested yesterday for the correct eye glasses. I have had my eyes tested before, but nothing like the experience I had at Griffin Optometric on Del Mar in San Clemente. From the time when I called to make the appointment to when I walked in the door for yesterday's appointment it was the best experience one could wish for. The reception greeted me with a smile, I was then pre-tested by a super friendly and knowledgeable technician using state of the art equipment to test my eyes, there were even pictures taken of my eyes to insure they are healthy. I was then ready to see the doctor, who was also very nice and knowledgeable, patiently working with me to find the right prescription for each eye, and looking into my possibilities for correction of my vision, we discussed Lasik, even tried contact lenses, and I ended up with a pair of really cool glasses after finishing up in the lobby with another super friendly knowledgeable technician dialing in my new pair of glasses! It makes a big difference if you get your eyes tested at Costco or Target or go to the Professionals who have been in San Clemente for as long as I can remember.
