She really knows her stuff and cares about her patients. From my understanding, all the Drs at Target Optical are independent contractors, while the store is owned or contracted by Luxotica, which also owns companies like Oakley, Sunglasses Hut, etc. So, sometimes the frames are a bit pricey, however they typically have discounts, and you'll get an auto $10 off if you sign up for their newsletter and various discounts throughout the year. The other highlight of my experience was they use the optomap retina scanner. It is an amazing piece of technology. The doctor explained to me that it scans 20 layers deep into the eye and can show any health issues, like diabetes, glaucoma, cancer, etc. It is much easier than getting your eyes dilated and removes the need to add chemicals into your body. It is $39, but totally worth it!

Felix was recommended to me by Costco to do a minor repair on one of my frames. He wasn't able to…read moredo the repair so I can't vouch for his repair job, however, he offered to put in basic reading lenses into another pair. The price was reasonable so why not. The first time I pick them up, he inadvertently put in long distance lenses. OK, mistakes happen. I pick them up after they are done the 2nd time and after using them at home I realize that at the least the right lens is off. So, I take them back up and ask him to fix the right side but make sure that both sides are right. I pick them up again and after using them for an hour, I realize that the left side is also off. I take them to two independent optometrist in my area who both say that Felix forgot to put the astigmatism correction on the left lense, and they have the documentation to show it. So far, that's 5 trips and I still can't use the glasses because they hurt my eyes. He won't look at the documentation from the other optometrist so he won't just give me a refund. He wants me to drop them off and then go pick them up again and that's another 25 min drive each way to get them finally fixed. But after Felix tells me that he checked the glasses both times previously . . . but both times they were off. So, what's going on here? He also tells me the correction is so minor that it's OK. Huh? It's not OK. Obviously, he doesn't value my time either. Do I really want to do business with this guy who obviously has a very lax practice. When it comes to glasses, you can't be laxed.

My wife was given voicemail reminder of her appt @ 10:30 she arrived in the parking lot at 10:15 and received a call from Jessica stating that her appointment was canceled due to her being late. We live in Oceanside and drive 30 miles to this office. The fact that she was cancelled 15 minutes before her appointment has cost Griffin 3 patients, my wife, my daughter, and myself just for being inconsiderate. This is not the first time with Jessica, just the worse time. You can see in other reviews how rude she is to people. I'm sure the owners have no idea how many customers have left due to her. They have lost 3 in this review alone. We have found a new provider and are looking forward to better customer service when it comes to eye care. Never going back to griffin again!

I am convinced that with doctor's knowledge and experience he will fix it or get you the best referral to treat your vision issues. The first person in our family to make contact with the doctor was my brother Chris, when during mountain bike riding accident he experienced a handful of coarse sand launched into his eyes. The pain was immense and he completely lost vision in one eye, driving with one eye he reached the Dr. Spaeths office, and chris was very happy that all the coarse sand was cleaned off his contact lenses and the sclera and he recovered all his vision back. My eye adventure was much more dangerous, as one morning I woke up with a cobweb floater taking up 33% of my vision, urgent care said it was nothing to worry about and should go away soon, well the floater was still there several days later, so listening to my brothers recommendation I made an appointment with Dr. Spaeth's office asap, turns out i had a detached retina and needed immediate surgery to save the vision in my eye. Heavy? You better believe it, and Dr Spaeth diagnosed the situation correctly and he took immediate action and made a call and got me an appointment at the best ophthalmology center in the country ( just the opinion of many) in Orange California. Not only did the surgeon save my vision (including peripheral vision) my eyes reaction time was as good as usual as i returned to playing competitive tennis. The recovery time was difficult and long and Dr Spaeth was there for me every step of the way. Fast forward to my 90 plus year old mom who has had countless eye infections and has extreme dry eyes that at times were so painful she would scream in pain. (after deciding to ditch the large eye center down south she decided to give Dr Spaeth a try, and I am happy to say she is back normal with very little pain. They tried to rush me through my scheduled cataract surgery without telling me what my co-system were going to be. Then they messed up my eye exam and had to do a second one. But I wasn't notified that I would need to have my eyes dialated again. I almost had 3 wrecks on the home. Finally, I discovered that the reason I was being rushed was because the elderly surgeon who was scheduled to perform the procedure was retiring. I was to be her last patient. Not good!
