During a very stressful time, Grigsbys Movers came in huge for me on short notice. I can't thank them enough. I recently moved from my condo over to my new home and on the day I expected to get my keys, I did not putting me in a tough position. as I searched the internet for anyone to help, I was let down time and time again. Moving right now is the thing to do and finding available movers is nearly impossible (PLAN ACCORDINGLY!!). I gave Grigsbys a call with only a few days to find movers and they happened to have a spot available for me. It was pure luck but I am so grateful for the quality of work the guys put in for me. I initially got started with Ivan. He was very professional and all about getting things done. They quoted me a competitive price and the guys were high spirited despite it being a hot day. They wrapped my heavy furniture, and even disassembled/reassembled my bed frame. Ultimately, the price came out cheaper than I thought and I was above and beyond thankful the guys worked with a quickness. I did not hire Grigsbys Movers but I ended up with them anyways. After hiring another "company" they sent Grigsbys Movers and at no time was I notified of this. What I agreed to was movers who would wrap my furniture and provide excellent care to my belongings. What I received was two individuals who did not wrap any of my belongings: furniture, tv's, washer and dryer, refrigerator, and a slew of other items that are now all showing various amounts of damage. The two movers took excessive breaks, talked on their phones the entire time, and proceeded to leave two car loads of items behind. I was moved into two separate storage units and it took them 7 1/2 hours, I paid over $900. Due to a delay in escrow I had to move into a storage unit and was unable to see the damage until 24 days later when I moved into my new home. Upon opening the storage units I realized that much of my stuff was damaged and or broken, due to large boxes being thrown on smaller and lighter boxes. Every plastic bin I had was broken, Samsung washer and dryer were dented and scraped up, refrigerator was dented and scraped up, tvs were both scrapped in various spots, mattress had a large portion of the memory foam ripped off and was filthy from being dragged on the floor, tool box is dented all over, and I have yet to find various items such as my steal saw horses. After attempting to contact company I believed moved me I was given the contact information for the company that did move me. This is where I had probably the most unprofessional conversation with a company owner ever. Ivan, 100% did not care about damage to my belongings, said I didn't pick protect coverage when I hired them though I didn't hire them, and then he proceeded to tell me to take it up with the company that I hired. Safe to say the conversation with Ivan made me dig into this whole thing a whole lot deeper at which point I found that Grigsbys Movers is not listed anywhere on the Secretary of State web site where they list all licensed companies working in California. They are found on the Better Business Bureau but not verified just for other complaints, and more importantly they are not listed on the Bureau of Home Goods and Services which holds jurisdictional authority over household moving companies in the united states. The paperwork I was provided at the end of my move does not list a license number anywhere which technically is required to be on their paperwork. Long story short if you ae looking for a licensed moving company that will care for your belongings and squeeze you for excessive amounts of money because you're paying by the hour, this is not the company for you. I lost so many items due to being flat out broken but I know I cant claim them because I packed them though anyone looking at the photos I have of all the broken boxes and bins could see that my items were not handled with care. Do not use this company to move your stuff. They do not take care of your belongings. They slammed our stuff into walls several times. They damaged and broke my bbq because they didn't tie it down. When we kept talking to the employees about being more careful with our stuff, they had the owner come out and he threatened to just leave all our stuff in the ground outside and leave. When they moved our stuff they didn't secure the bbq. They drive very erratic and the bbq fell over after slamming into the inside wheel well. It snapped the welding that holds the frame with the wheels in it. They also didn't wrap a piece of glass that was about 150 years old, even though they were asked several times. They said they would do it I the truck, they didn't and it broke. When trying to talk to the owner Ivan, he said we broke the bbq and that it wasn't their fault. This man is super shady and you should never use his crew. read more

Thank you to the hardworking guys at Grigsbys Movers! They provided quick and efficient moving services from our small, 760sq ft apartment to our new home that is literally triple the size. The guys really took care of our items and they are faaaaast. While they require a 3 hour minimum, it's so worth it. They package and load up everything, including dismantling bed frames. They then rebuild it in the new location. If you're like me and you're all about convenience during a move, then I would highly recommend movers. Safe your back and get it done. read more

3 people were supposed to come for $150 an hour. Only 2 came. Took more than 7 hours for complete the job that could've been way faster. Also broke one of my kitchen cabinet and the wheels on another small cabinet while moving it out of the truck to keep into the apartment. They also "forgot" to load 1 bedroom nightstand and our dining table. And also forgot their own stuff at our old place. (And I wasn't paid to say that. hee hee) We just moved from an apartment downtown to a home near Rancho Cordova. Short, local trip. They arrived on time and got to work right away, taping and wrapping furniture and loading boxes. One of the biggest tasks was our bed. They disassembled and reassembled our bed like pros. The original estimate was 5-6 hours. These guys knocked it out in FOUR! Talk about your hustlin'! I don't think we'll be moving again any time soon, but if we do, I'm calling Grigsbys! read more

3 1/2 stars. We paid a hefty lump sum for the move nearly $3k with tip included They are very fast and efficient but beware. The furniture items were dinted, scratched, and missing wheels and nails. They seem to hide these from you until you get the chance to actually "look" at your furniture after all the frenzy. They assembled the bed, however after we moved the bed to another position we noticed that the bed frame was missing bolts and was just in a mess, etc. The TV cabinet has a long deep scratch. The veneer from another cabinet was stripped. My husband tipped them generously as we do. Just be aware of these things going forward. read more

This is my second time I used Grigsby's Movers and they did a great job again! Ivan and Burrel worked as a team and got my 1 bed room apartment (2's floor) packed up, drove an hour and unloaded into an apartment with 4 flights of stairs within 4.5 hours. I'd previously contacted Grigsbys Movers for a personal move but the timing didn't work out. Ivan was super helpful on the phone even when I decided to do the move by myself. A few weeks later I contacted them to schedule a move for my employer, a small business. We confirmed our appointment and Ivan did a walkthrough to make sure we could move everything in the time allotted. Today was moving day and we had the pleasure of working with Theus and Juan, who loaded up our entire office. They were really friendly, showed up early to our appointment, and worked very quickly. I just gotta say Damn these guys were good. I didn't have a lot of stuff moving from just midtown to west sac. Some of the stuff was heavy, at least by my standards, and had no issues at all. They had to go down steps and then around two inside flights w/ wooden bannisters - flawless. Ivan picked up my Queen mattress like he was unloading a tent to a camp site. High and Dry! That's how Ivan and Grigsbys Movers left me today. Two days prior: Tuesday July 9th I personally spoke with Ivan about my upcoming move to another state. Originally he was was just going to load my uhaul, but then he offered me a deal to do the move himself. Ivan said that since he was already making the drive that way, he would give me a price reduction. Ivan said he would pick up my stuff on Thursday, I accepted and we shook on it. Before we shook on the deal, I explained to Ivan that I would be buying a plane ticket to my destination and that my wife and I just had a baby and it was imperative that the move take place this weekend. I told him that I was going to cancel client appointments to accommodate him and the time he requested to pick up my stuff. Ivan said he understood and assured me that he would take care of everything and that it was a simple move. Today: July 11th... moving day: I received a call (voicemail) from Ivan at 9:30am saying he was ready to pick up my stuff. I was with a client, but I responded to him via text at 9:43am asking if we were still on schedule. Ivan responded promptly asking when I would be available. I said I could be available a little before our scheduled time (noon). Ivan responded 3 minutes later (9:46am) saying he was canceling my move because the other person canceled their move. In 3 minutes he went from ready to move my stuff, to, "My other client canceled on me last minute, so I have to cancel on you... sorry for the inconvenience." Really?!?! In three minutes time, our arrangement is dead? I'm calling BS! I think he dumped me for a better deal! I asked him why he couldn't do the move anyway and his response was that it didn't benefit him financially anymore. I said, so that's it... No offer to help me with any alternatives? I reminded him that I had already paid for my tickets (that are non refundable), that I lost money canceling my clients, my apartment is now I wreck, and that any last minute company or uhaul is going to cost way more now! Ivan acted like he could care less. No remorse or offer of any reasonable alternatives. So I asked him what it would cost to have him move just my stuff. Ivan's quote was well over double the original cost. Knowing that any move now is going to cost me a lot anyway, I was going to accept his offer... I asked him to call me.... he said he would... he never did! He did text me to say he was rebooked again with someone else. So... he booked another client instead of calling me and settling our situation. Well several hours later.... nothing! Absolutely nothing! I even spoke with the company that referred Ivan to me, and the owner himself said that it was very unprofessional behavior. That owner (on vacation) at least gave me some options to check out! While Ivan offered nothing to help. Now... My move is pushed back weeks, I'm out several hundred dollars in income and plane tickets, and I'm no closer to my wife and baby. Point is.... Ivan is a hustler and can't be trusted. His word is worthless and he only cares about his bottom line... his wallet. He had no compassion or remorse for leaving a client high and dry, knowing all the while, what was at stake. No integrity! PS- Ivan wouldn't even offer up his Business license or DOT credentials... a National moving company looked up Ivan's company and said that they couldn't locate his credentials either and said that this was a big red flag! These movers showed up EARLY, with a fantastic attitude and all 3 gentlemen were genuinely hard workers. I have had other movers before and had broken items and bad attitudes - not these guys.
