We recently used this company for our move, and overall, our experience was excellent. From start to finish, the crew was professional, hardworking, and incredibly careful with our belongings. Every piece of furniture was meticulously wrapped and protected, and they treated both our old and new home with respect. They were friendly, personable, and worked efficiently all day. We had just installed brand new carpet in our new home, so we mentioned that to the head mover before they arrived. We weren't sure how shoe covers would work since the crew would constantly be going back and forth between the truck and the house. He reassured us that he would figure something out once they got there. When they arrived, he came up with a great solution: two movers stayed outside unloading from the truck while two movers remained inside the house receiving and placing everything. The two movers inside even asked if we preferred they wear shoe covers or simply remove their shoes and work in their socks. We told them socks were perfectly fine. I really appreciated that they asked instead of assuming, and I thought the coordination between the crew was genuinely impressive. It showed they were willing to adapt and find a solution that protected our new floors. What also stood out to me were the little things they didn't have to do. At one point, they saw me struggling to open our wardrobe boxes after they had been unloaded. Without me even asking, they came over, cut them open, and helped open them for me. It may seem like a small gesture, but it showed they genuinely cared about making the move easier for us. Those kinds of thoughtful acts don't go unnoticed. The only reason I'm mentioning the following is because I think it's constructive feedback. At the end of the move, the head mover (who seemed to be the supervisor) asked how I wanted to pay the tip--cash, Zelle, or another method. I was a little confused because earlier in the day we had already given the crew $200 and told them to use it for lunch. When I mentioned that, he explained that the $200 was for lunch, then showed me examples of what other customers had tipped. He also shared that most customers tip at least $800, or about $200 per mover. I completely understand that tips are an important part of their income, and I genuinely felt this crew deserved to be rewarded for the outstanding job they did. We ended up tipping the crew very generously because we truly appreciated their hard work. Afterward, the head mover was sincerely appreciative and thanked us, explaining how much they rely on tips and how much it helps them. I appreciated his gratitude. However, discussing specific tip amounts and comparing them to what other customers give made me feel pressured and put on the spot. Everyone's financial situation and budget are different. Some customers may be able to give more, while others may not, and that's okay. A tip is ultimately optional and should be appreciated regardless of the amount. I believe it's best to let customers decide what they feel is an appropriate gratuity without comparisons or suggested amounts. Aside from that one interaction, the service itself was outstanding. I used this moving company for my 4 bedroom one story home and I moved 15 minutes away (8 miles). I hired 3 movers and when they arrived, the main guy (Eric) convinced me to hire a 4th mover because it would help them finish sooner. He even tried to upcharge me for the 4th mover but luckily I saved the quote that Alex gave me. Well it took 11.5 hours (not including their lunch break) with 4 movers and they still didn't move everything. We just had to stop the time because it was getting so late. 3 of the guys were nice and they did most of the work, but Eric was a bit pushy and was always on his phone or going on a break. They took too many breaks (lasting 15-20 min each) and their lunch break was 2 hours. So they were off to a slow start in the morning. I really did not like that Eric tried to convince me to go to Home Depot to buy more moving boxes because they didn't have enough. As a moving company, you should have enough boxes. They were careful with my stuff, wrapping everything very carefully, but they were slow. They didn't clean anything up after they were done, left their cans, bottles, runner paper throughout the house. All in all, they were okay. Just really slow. We just moved into our first house and were looking through Yelp for a great moving company. My husband messaged Sacramento Movers and was given a quote pretty quickly. We were excited that the scheduling process was so easy, especially with our growing list of to-dos with the move. We had a quick moment of fear when we hadn't heard back again by the day before our move, but after reaching out they confirmed that we were all set and that they'd be to our apartment by 9am to help move us to the house. Move day went pretty smoothly, we were worried there wasn't going to be enough room in the truck and even talked to the movers about potentially needing two trips. Luckily, they were able to work some magic and Tetris our boxes and furniture in the truck to get it to fit in one trip. The three movers we had were great! They worked really hard the whole time and had a good attitude, even when challenging items like heavy boxes and our CRAZY HEAVY dressers had to be moved. We could hear them joking to one another about how to get the super heavy pieces up the stairs.... We went from a ground floor apartment to a multi-floor home so stairs were a challenge! They were also careful with our furniture and wrapped the pieces that might get dented or damaged in the move. They also drove the truck very carefully and cautiously so items weren't jostled too much in transit. I spent WAY too much money on my move ($1700+) in October 2024. I had four movers and it still took about 10+ hours when I moved the same amount of stuff back in January of this year and it cost me 700$ less with less movers and took them about 7 hours. Damage was done to my walk in which they only offered a one hour discount, furniture was left in packing wrap, they tried to leave me with a huge amount of trash and even after I asked them to take the trash they still managed to leave some behind, they failed to put some of my furniture on the truck and I had to call the next day to have them come back out to move them. Lastly, it would have been helpful to be able to communicate with all the movers not just one guy. Would never recommend to anyone. I am only giving two stars because they did give a little discount (even though that was like pulling teeth) for my wall damage and came to move the furniture they forgot. I should have believed some of the recent reviews. They're not even close to what some of the older reviews said. I moved from Maryland to Sacramento about 10 months ago, and those movers in Maryland (Prince Movers) and unloaders/unpackers in Sacramento (ABC Movers) were so good and even cheaper - why can't most of the movers be like them? The major points were: (1) They were late. Scheduled at 9:00 am, came in at 10:30 am. (2) I booked 4 people based on a video call. I was charged $275 per hour for packing and loading. As soon as they came in, the 'leader' started talking about how he might need more people to finish the job on time, and I would have to pay for the extra person. I declined to pay for more people because I'm on a tight budget and I was told that the work would start at 9 am. (3) They started work at around 11:00 a.m. and then took a lunch break from 12:30 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. They worked a total of 1.5 hours until 2 p.m. So, we're already not to a great start. (4) Two guys working in the bedrooms and loft were very good. They were polite, consistent, careful, and smooth. The 'leader' of the group (who was 1 of the 4 hired to help move) was consistently on his phone and seemed to only work a little. While the 2-person team worked to pack up the entire bedrooms and loft, these 2 guys in the kitchen and living area had just wrapped a couch and loveseat in a moving blanket. Very very slow. (5) At around 3:30 pm, some of them started working on packing the kitchen stuff. They seemed ridiculously slow packing items in the kitchen. When I was around, the packing would be quick, but if I was away for even half an hour, it seemed to have stalled. I saw 3 of 4 guys taking a 10-15-minute break twice. I moved about 10 months ago, and everything in the kitchen was packed by 1 mover in about 5 hours. In the 10 months, I've not bought any new kitchen items. (6) It was pretty dark, 5:30 pm when we left for the new place. Unloading was such a mess as well. It seemed highly unprofessional. They didn't have runners so I had to lay some moving blankets on the floor. But moving blankets can be slippery on the stairs, so I decided not to put them there for safety. They were not careful about mud and dirt, so the new carpets were stained with mud. My previous unloaders had great runners, even for the stairs and that's how I know professional movers would have that. (7) They nicked my new door frame. This is a new construction and I had inspected the house the day before, so I know it was nicked during the move. (8) It was almost 7:30 pm and I kept seeing this 'leader' guy on the phone while everyone else was working hard to get things unloaded and unpacked. I brought up this issue to the moving crew that it was getting late, and with a baby who needed to sleep, I would appreciate it if he would also just focus on finishing the work quickly. The guy got confrontational with discussions about how he could take his team and just leave. I would have been a bit annoyed if they left because 2 of 4 of them were working so hard and professionally. I expected him to be more professional and not confrontational. So, I apologized (LOL) and let them finish the work. I couldn't afford to lose another day, call other movers, and go with this s**t again! I was also a bit worried that he might damage my new home and appliances during the move if I discussed it more him. He did not seem professional so I just apologized and just kept an eye on his work. (9) When the work was finished at around 9:30 pm, I paid them and also tipped them. It was also weird that he wrote "I'm happy" where I had to sign it. But I was done discussing with him and also a bit worried (slightly threatened) about his attitude earlier, so I just signed and let him go. (10) The next morning I can see the carpets are stained everywhere. The boxes that are in the kitchen are supposed to be in the loft and so on. The two stars in this review are for the two guys out of four, who just did everything very well. I could see them working carefully, and smoothly, not scraping the walls, cleaning their shoes before coming in, and assembling large furniture, washers, dryers, and beds. But the team overall was bad. All in all, 2 of 4 movers were great. There were clear red signs in the newest reviews which I did not pay a great deal of attention to. It's a corporate moving company so you might get good movers if you're lucky. But again, it seems like the culture is flawed if the same reviews are coming up. I should have just hired a family-business moving company like I always did before. No movers had made me feel this uneasy. But hopefully no more moving for a while since this last move is to my new house. It just sucks that the move to my new house was such a bad experience. This is a tough one because I always like to give the benefit of the doubt and I have received an apology, but I still feel the need to share my experience. We did a Yelp blast for estimates for a Sacramento to Dallas move. I entered that we had a 3 bedroom home, and everyone came back with the standard 26 ft truck and estimate for that. I contacted Sacramento Moving because of the price and Yelp Reviews. We did a video tour of my place, we left nothing out, and were told we wouldn't fit in 26 ft truck, and would need a Semi Truck. We were quoted a price and the pickup date was scheduled between the 8th and 12th of August. Because it's not a standard truck, it's dependent on the drivers availability. All was good and this was done well in advance. I contacted them with a question on the 6th or 7th, and they told me they'd be at the house on the 8th at 9am. I contacted our painters, real estate agent, and my boss. I then was contacted by Sac Moving and told the 8th was in error, they still needed to confirm with the driver. Fine, not a big deal. Later that evening I was contacted again as they wanted to send someone over to my house the next day to assess what we had. They determined that we did in fact need the Semi Truck. When the truck was close to available, there was a day of packing furniture followed by pick up the next day. By this time I was heading to Texas and my partner stayed behind to finish everything up. After they loaded most of the truck, I received another call. Apparently we had too much stuff and went over allowed square feet or something. Long story short I took the call as I'm driving through New Mexico, and they wanted an additional $7100. That's a 67% increase above what we were quoted. The guy who came to the house before the move to assess what we had suggested to my partner that we added stuff, to which my partner replied, do you really think we went out and bought more stuff so we could ship it to Texas??? Talk about being between a rock and a hard place. I'm on the road, my partner needs to finish up and get on the road too, and the truck was already loaded. We literally had no choice, but what if we didn't have the money? This was a big SNAFU! We didn't hold it against the workers. My partner still gave the guys that packed and loaded a $1000 tip. I have the guys who unloaded in Texas $800 tip. As far as I can tell everything made it safely with the exception of our dining room table, which is too heavy to lift for one person, so I won't know how bad it is until my partner gets here. No malice intended here, and as I said I did get an apology. But it was still a very large amount of money out of our pockets when we really didn't plan for it. I just felt an honest review was in order. UPDATE: Dining room table is completely damaged and won't open. It's a glass expandable table. Curio Cabinet is chipped and scratched. read more

The only issue I had was that it took the crew 19 hrs over 2 days to move my 5 bedroom house. We had already packed everything up in boxes. I just think they took too much time. I think this job should have been done in 12 hrs max as we moved 3 years prior and it was done in 10 hrs. So, the moral of my story is if you want careful, diligent packers and movers who move a little slower, Sac Movers is your people. If you want speed and value probably not. So, if you have alot of valuable items that need careful attention and you are willing to pay more, then Sac Movers is recommended. 19 hrs was excessive in my opinion though. read more

Absolute WORST moving experience of my life. They moved slow. My friends and I moved all of the clothes, toys, dishes and items inside the furniture before they even arrived. All these guys had to do was move beds, a desk, some basement items and dressers. They initially told me it would be six hours. I questioned six hours because I've had two movers move more items in six hours. Then they told me five hours. After five hours at the home I was moving from, I asked them what was taking so long. I explained that I had moved many times before and that it had never taken this long. He told me, "I'll leave when you tell me to leave." Right. With half of my stuff in the back of his truck? Then I explained to him I had to pick up my two-year-old and move out of that house by that day. Which was why my friends and I handled most of it before they even got there. They were only moving the heavy furniture. He told me, "that's not my problem." When we arrived at the new house, these movers told me - "we thought this would take four hours. It will be longer." AFTER ALREADY TAKING SIX HOURS AT THE OTHER HOUSE. I had to get involved and call friends to come and pull everything out of the back of the truck by the time we got to the new house. By the end? This move cost me double. DOUBLE. $1100. And I moved half of my stuff. Absolutely ridiculous. Worst. Experience. EVER. Sacramento Movers - way to shake down a single mom. He sent me detailed price breakdown and called me to ask if I had any questions and answered my million and a half questions. I made my appointment to move a 4 bedroom house with a 3 car garage so you can imagine how much we had accumulated. Even after having eliminated a lot of clutter we still had a lot of stuff. Where do I start. I made a reservation to hire 2 people to assist with a 1 bedroom move on the phone 3 weeks before I moved and I received a email confirmation. I was quoted $145 per hour (cash) and $155 (card). I chose to use cash. I was suppose to get a call the day before to confirm the move and I never got a call. I called the next morning the day of my move 2/9/25 and was informed that the movers will be here between 9-10am. They came at 10am. It took them 3 hours to move all my stuff into the moving truck. Mind you, I am in a downstairs unit with no stairs and my partner and I were helping them as well. During the 3 hours, the lead guy was constantly on his phone and kept commenting on how much stuff I had. They took a 1 hour lunch break and met me at my new place which is a upstairs unit. I didn't have any control over me being upstairs. 30 minutes into unloading the truck, the lead guy approached me without with partner present and asked me if I would be open to having two additional guys come to help move so the move can go faster. He kept mentioning that I have a lot of stuff and it would take him and the other guy much longer to unload. He mentioned that the additional help would the original guys save time and strain on their backs. He mentioned that it would be an additional $50 per person. I figured with 2 additional people that would be only $100. The additional two guys came and they started to help unload. They were finished in an hour. So total it took 3 hours to unload with 2 guys ($435) and the fourth hour had the original 2 guys ($145) and the fifth hour had 4 guys ($145 plus $100 ($50 per guy). Once we were all done, the lead guy let me know that the total move was 5.5 hours excluding their 1 hr lunch. He quoted me $1097 to move a 1 bedroom with travel included (16 miles). That total doesn't make sense. He mentioned that it was a 3 hour minimum even though they already surpassed 3 hours when they were loading my things on the truck. The lead guy kept mentioning that bringing on the extra guys was going to save me time, but the price is still the same so how does that make sense. I hired professional movers so I wouldn't have to do it myself. Unfortunately, I did not have a good experience and I believe I was over charged. read more

After living in our home for nearly 3 decades we decided to move and had a huge job moving oversized antiques out of an in-town 3 story home with an in-law with a 2nd story gym and a whole lot of heavy outdoor furniture. They were also heading to their last job of the day at 7:30 pm, crazy! Working with the Sacramento movers was a great experience, though looking back we should have hired 3 guys instead of 2 (we rented a large one bedroom apartment) and it took a bit longer as a result. They got everything we wanted out quickly and carefully and followed our instructions as to what and what not to move. Our furniture was placed where we wanted them with no issue at all. It was about $1000 for 6 hours, which was a lot more than what we expected, but definitely still worth it and we tipped well. Definitely recommend getting 3 men if you have a lot to move. read more

Well, I have moved AGAIN! This is the 6th time I have used Sacramento Movers' services and I am (again) so glad I did!! We had them pack the WHOLE house because of a lot going on, we couldn't. They did an amazing job. They will take down and pack TVs or pictures, and pack everything with care. They will also put back together your furniture and place it just where you want. They are so polite, professional, and quick. I cannot sing their praises enough. With as many moves as I've had with them, believe it or not, I have used other movers before I found them. Trust me, use Sacramento Movers! You will be glad you did. And it's worth it to have them pack. These guys were great. Friendly, reliable and very professional. I checked around a lot before settling with SF movers, and I was nervous hearing all the horror stories. Talked to a lot of sketch brokers also. Alex, on the other hand, was super helpful with us in coordinating a Colorado to California move. He was accessible each time I called, and he was attentive to our move. We left our 19 year old daughter to help load the truck with them, and the guys were respectful, friendly and truly expert packers. They not only had the Tetris dynamic down, they also had a sixth sense for packing things securely. They drove straight and made it to California in one day! I met them at our new house and I was curious to see if they were as impressive as my daughter said. They were. I can't say it enough: friendly AND professional. Ok, maybe that was just the guys I got for that trip you say? Well, we had to move into the garage of the house the first time, so I called them back to move us into the house the second time. Two new guys. Brothers. They also demonstrated the same excellent friendliness and professionalism. All these guys were strong, respectful, expert, trustworthy and just plain nice. What more do you want of your movers? The price: Alex worked with us to meet our budget, offered helpful tips to save money (on a storage unit we almost needed, for instance), and was flexible when plans changed a little. Since we needed them a second time, we got a discount. They asked us to pay for blankets that we kept in the garage, and they refunded us that money when we moved into the house without a problem.
