I had an eye on this restaurant since a while. Finally I decided to try it out. I ordered over the phone for pick up. My order of choice was Chicken Kabob. Overall I felt it was just an OK place. The quantity of Chicken was less for the price I paid. The quantity of rice and bread was much more than what I expected. The most surprising thing was, the server did not wrap the bread , it was directly put in my bag. Which was really weird! The taste was good, and I was kind of satisfied with the overall experience. But probably I would not visit again, as I guess there are other better middle eastern restaurants in the area. read more

Very good for what it is. Have I had better kabob? Yes.... Did it do the job for lunch? Yes. I wish the bread that came with it was fresher (and warmer) and the lettuce portion of the salad was given more thought. As for the chicken, it is tender and juicy. Love this place! I used to hike into the food court at Dulles Town Center for the Curry Combo (with chicken, chickpeas, and spinach). How excited was I to find out there was a location 5 minutes away from my home in Herndon, where I could park right outside. Anyways, good food, love their bread too. And the staff is so nice. The lady working at the cash register held and entertained my son so I could get a soda and put my change away. And, I have to mention my son is beyond picky, but 2 out of the 3 veggies in the universe that I can actually get him to eat without gagging are their chickpeas and spinach, and he will only eat their chickpeas and spinach. Same owners from the original reston kabob. A little over 9 bucks including tax for the gyro wrap but its well worth it. The portion is massive, almost double the size of average gyros in nova. Ive been looking but haven't been able to find a better gyro place in nova. I don't know about their other menu items but i think gyro is their specialty. We moved to Dunn Loring a year ago and we still make the drive to eat here. Honestly we have not found a kabob place we like more than this place, it's probably because it's one of the only places that's Afghani​ style. This definitely beats hallah guys, not even a competition. The chicken is a knock out and I dream about their two rices, frequently. My husband loves the gyro but I really can't get enough of the chicken and the rice (seriously get the chicken and the rice)!! Their bread/naan/pita is YUGE, it's so good fresh, but does not keep well, so it eat it all in one sitting, you won't regret it. I don't know why this doesn't have 5 stars it's really exemplary and always super fresh. To top it all off a healthy pour of the white sauce is really the cherry on top. read more

I have been to many kabob places of the same type, but the fact that they generously place their sauces on the table instead of being stingy and charging extra like others makes them the BEST for me!! So this review is only for the GYRO. They actually call it a "Gyro Wrap" at Grill Kabob. This thing is huge! Standard Naan, packed with a ton of Lamb meat. They throw tomatoes, lettuce, and white sauce in as well. If you are hungry, you should try one. I think they are around $8, so relatively inexpensive for a huge portion. I come down from Sterling once a month or so to pick up a couple for my wife and I. I can't speak to the chicken kabobs or other dishes as I can't seem to move off the Gyro. If you're into Gyro's definitely give this place a try. read more

one of the better kabob houses I've been to - the food has flavor and they don't shy away from giving you the green and cream sauce... the Green sauce is spicy and definitely one of the BEST ever! Would definitely recommend - great place for lunch but try going a little before or after the rush - it takes about 10-15 minutes to get the meat hot and ready to serve. read more

My favorite Kabob place in Herndon! Both the sauces are top notch and the food is excellent! You can either order a wrap of the kabob, only a salad or both with rice if you're feeling adventurous. Grill Kabob was just an okay kabob joint....the prices seemed really high unless you got one of the lunch specials for $6.99. My gyro was generously portioned and the tandoori bread was fresh. The sauce tasted like ranch dressing- which does not seem very authentic to me. The other mustard-based sauce they put on the side was very tasty and a little spicy too. The atmosphere was very lack-luster. The service was decent. I would try somewhere else before I went back to Grill Kabob. read more

While this is not the resturants problem the parking there is HELL especially at lunch time. Better go early or after the lunch rush. Had a good menu to choose from. Very quick! A tad on the expensive side $11 for beef kabob comes with rice, salad, bread, and sauce. The beef was over cooked! The rice was ok and I should have tried the chick peas. The Nan was good. So, I used to LOVE Reston Kabob... unfortunately, they closed and we were stuck with Grill Kabob. I placed an order for a #6 Beef and Chicken Kabob platter (for $16.99), the man who took my order even repeated back to me, "# 6 Beef and Chicken Combo, right?", "That's correct" I said. I asked him how long it would take and after having had to repeat the question several times, he finally said, about 15 mins. I told him I would be closer to 20 or 25 minutes. No problem! I get to the restaurant to pick up my order, there was no one in line and only 3 tables with customers. I tell the cashier what I ordered and he handed me the bag. I paid for my order (almost $21 for the platter and a fountain drink!) and left. I work off of Wiehle Ave, so it takes easily 10 minutes to get to Grill Kabob from my office depending on the lights, it can take longer. When I get to my desk, I open the box and notice that there is no rice, but A LOT of lettuce with a couple olives 2 tomato slices and some onions (there was also a mushy pepperoncini, but it was tossed because it was nasty). I called the restaurant to verify what is supposed to come with the #6 platter and the person on the phone verifies it comes with 2 types of rice, bread, 2 sauces, a small "salad" and the beef/chicken. I told him I was just there (I know he remembered me because I was the only order on the counter!) and he knew I had just paid for a #6 platter with a drink. I told him what I received and asked what the price difference was. He looked it up and said that it was a $3 difference. I began to ask him how to handle it when he just handed the phone off to someone else. The person he handed the phone off to was the man who originally took my order. He was immediately rude, he said "What did you want?" and was a little taken back and told him pretty much what I told the first guy. He then tried to tell me that I did order the salad... He said "You ordered, the #6 salad!" (I don't even think there IS a #6 salad!), but that's neither here nor there... I told him that's definitely NOT what I ordered, then I told him that I was upset that they charged me for what I ordered, but didn't give me what I ordered. He then tried to tell me that the salad and the platter are the same price (they're NOT, their website actually shows a $4 difference, not the $3 that the first guy told me). Then the man gets upset with me continuously asking me what I want? He said, "We have a line, we're very busy, what do you want?" Never did he apologize for giving me the wrong order, or charging me for something more expensive. Never did he offer to make it right in ANY way... customer service has DEFINITELY gone the way of the dodo in this restaurant. Finally, all of this may have been forgiven if when I began to eat my "salad" the beef was WAY overcooked and had a funny after taste and both the chicken and beef were cold (probably because they were sitting on a salad instead of a nice warm bed of rice). Always delicious! The food & bread are freshly prepared with generous portions. I personally love their gyro & chicken, while hubby loves the beef. We had a large take out order for a work group. So I'm pretty particular about kabobs and this place does them right. Everything seemed to be fresh and the chickpeas were excellent (love chickpeas). You walk up to the counter and place your order. The chicken was grilled perfectly and the portion was substantial. I've been many times and have never been disappointed with the chicken kabob entree. This place is WAY overpriced for the quality of food. It lacks any reference of kabab at all. The meat portion of the meal is great, but the bread, dips, and accompanying side dishes are awful. My chick peas tasted like they were soaking in Lipton's soup. The Cucumber sauce was actually mayonnaise, and the bread was thin and over baked. If you want really good kabab try heading over to the Clocktower area and eat there. I know that's where I'm sticking to from now on. read more
