Grill Kabob actually turned me on to Indian curry type foods. I visited several locations and was never disappointed. The service and quality and quantity food has gone way down. The "sides" (chickpeas, spinach, etc) now come in a condiment cup. I paid almost $14 for rice and a dry salad. Now that They I'm writing this review about the Herndon locations, I'm reminded that the food at the one in Springfield Mall swims in cooking oil. Middle Eastern spot with standard wrap/platter options, close to Dulles Airport in a strip mall. Food is average; they pitch their gyros but the meat was quite bland (though it was tender). There isn't much seasoning or sauces in their wraps (basically you just add white sauce as you like), but the tandoori breads (which go in their wraps) are hot and fresh. read more

Last weekend we felt like kabob but didn't want to go indoors at the Grill Kabob ay Dules Town Center so drove to the Herndon location which is behind Capital One. Ordered and waited. Was disappointed that a customer who was known to the cashier came in without a mask while rest of us had on. This place is around the corner from the office and it's a-okay. For some reason I don't come here a lot. My go-to tends to be the lamb kebab and it's ... well ... a-okay. But consistent. Like many kebab joints like this the service is very transactional. There's not a lot of fluff, smiling, or other shenanigans. If your local 1950s diner served kebab, I imagine the service would be much the same. But that's OK, I'm not here to make conversation... I'm here to eat. Would it eat here again? Sure! Happy to stop in if anyone would like to go. Will I suggest it? Eh... maybe not. Unless I've got a serious hankering for kebab like right now. I suppose it could happen. read more

Service is not the best. I have ordered on the phone and gone in 30 min later to find the young guy forgot to give my order to the cooks. Costing me an additional 30 min. I've had an interaction with an older gentleman who scolded me for using Doordash through Yelp rather than calling directly. I can't tell if this Grill Kabob is related to the Grill Kabobs you find inside of Tyson's Corner mall or Dulles Town Center, but they're pretty good. I usually go here or Moby Dick, when I am on a time crunch. Otherwise, I am usually hitting up Charcoal Kabob off of Elden Street, but that place gets so packed the wait time can creep up to 10-15 minutes. A drawback to this place would be the limited number of tables and seating. The unlimited sauce squeeze bottles keeps this kabob establishment at the A-okay level. read more

Time for an up-to-date review of Grill Kabob, since many of the reviews are at least 3 months to 3 years old from today. I actually really enjoyed my lunch here, and had zero expectations upon arrival, because kabob places are a dime a dozen in the area, right? Slightly different means to the same end, order at a counter, wait for your number to be called, pick up your tray brimming with whatever chicken/kabob/falafel magic you have ordered. Sit, smother with sauces, enjoy. At Grill Kabob, two words: GREEN SAUCE. I've never had anything like it at any other kabob shops. There's a bottle of this magical concoction on every table, and it's pleasantly spicy and flavorful, so Spice Fiend approves. There's also a bottle of what would appear to be a yogurt-style white sauce, but to me, it tastes far too mayonnaise-y or ranch dressing-y to be a contender for best yogurt sauce. You've got your typical selection of chicken and beef kabobs, pictorial menus if you don't know the difference between kibbe and kafta and kabob, or you could just wise up and order their $8 lunch platter special. Served with a veritable mountain of fluffy rice, choose 3 side items from their counter display, and walk away happy. I opted for the chicken curry (mix of tender white/dark meat in a curry sauce), chick peas (in a traditional, if slightly oily, sauce), and the coup d'etat, the spinach! Of course, whatever you order is served with a fresh piece of gooey yet crispy bread so big and yet so delicious you want to eat it all, yet you'll want to chastise yourself for such a gratuitous carb-fest. But it's SO GOOD! Good kabobs, and they have what I consider the second best spicy kabob sauce in the area (behind Reston Kabob). And they leave bottles of them out on the tables for you to use as much or as little as you like. Portions are generous unlike some places (Midtown Kabob I'm looking at YOU) and prices average. They serve the usual kabobs, gyros, curried vegetables and even falafel. If you get your food to go I notice they put your bread in a separate paper bag, which I thought a nice touch. Some places just throw your bread in the plastic bag on top of the styrofoam container, and others actually fold the bread and put it inside with the rest of your food. I've found the added benefit of the paper bag is the steam from the hot bread actually keeps your bread soft and chewy. Not sure if this was intentional but I like it. As has been pointed out in previous reviews, parking can be a hassle during peak lunch hours but otherwise I haven't had any problems finding a spot nearby. Interior has always been clean when I've come by but it did get a bit smoky inside from the grill on my last visit. They have a few outdoor tables which is nice. read more

This area gets super packed for lunch and parking was hectic but I ended up finding a spot right in the front, luckily. There's also minimal seating outside and inside. You walk up, order, they call your number, then you just pick it up. The prices are a little higher than most kabob places I've been to. I normally get the lamb and chicken combo at the kabob places I go to, but I wasn't willing to pay an extra $5 for that here. So I opted just for the lamb kabob which was delicious. The seasoning is great and I tried my friends chicken which was really good as well. They give you a ton of balsmati rice. I wish they offered tzatziki sauce or something flavorful because the sauces on the table weren't great. It isn't bad so I'd probably go when I'm in the area but other than that, I'll find something closer. read more

I didn't give 5 stars due to the limited seating and the lack of customer service. In truth, I didn't mind the lack smiles. They were fast and I know dealing with the public can be difficult. I have eaten here before a few times, ever since Reston Kabob got closed down. They say its the same "owners". Anyhow food used to be mid-level spicy which is good for an afghan food. This guy was on his iphone the whole time. I was never greeted by this guy. While I was ordering he looked down on his phone and I could see him texting. He obviously didnt care about me knowing that he is texting. He just yelled my order to the lady making the food in the back, while still texting. The only time he looked up was at his POS system to put the order in. I ordered a Chicken and Kubideh combo. He told me he was out of beef. I went with chicken kubideh. Then I asked him can I pay later since I am eating here I may get more items. His reply "NO NOW". Keep in mind this whole time no eye contact no nothing. This guy was straight up rude and just dry with his customer service. Like come on specially if your the manager or I guess "Act like I Own it" personal lol. Whatever have you. Step up your customer service and stop texting while taking orders and being rude. Not to mention the food that used to be mid-Spicy was super spicy. The spinach and chic peas specially. Yes. This is Reston Kabob. Even the menu signs are exactly the same now. Reston Kabob was a staple of my life when I lived in Reston. I moved away right as it closed down, but this has always been my absolutely favorite place for kabob.Work brought me back to the area for a few days and this was top of my list for dining. Grill Kabob carries on that great tradition of great kobeeda, rice, and that amazing amazing white sauce. I've never been disappointed with this place. Best. Ever. read more

The food is good, although tthe meat can get overcooked sometimes, especially with the kabobs. It's a carb fest with a ton of bread and rice. What makes the meal is the mystery white sauce, pure deliciousness. Small salad portion though and dirty ran down eating area. Staff aren't very friendly at all and some barely speak English. From my understanding, this location is part of the food chain Grill Kabob which has locations also in Dulles and Tysons. I've eaten at both locations and have never had a bad experience, but wanting to avoid the mall rush on a Friday night, I went to their Herndon location instead. BIG MISTAKE! Everything was just very off. The sauces had a different taste and texture from Tysons/Dulles, the meat was overcooked, chicken and beef kubideh were so dry and tough, and unlike their other 2 locations, Herndon does not give a side of chick peas. WHAT THE HELL!?! The gyro was also very sloppily wrapped in foil, it fell apart the second I cut it in half. Very disappointing experience. Also, service and staff are not welcoming, the cashier I interacted with seemed miserable and borderline rude. Thankfully I got my food to go so I didn't have to be around him long! read more

We were very disappointed with the service. My family and I came to the restaurant at 8:30pm on a Friday. The restuarant closes at 9pm. The server told us that we couldn't dine in because it would take 15 mins to prepare the food and we wouldn't finish it before 9pm. We were offered to-go option only. Mid way during my order he started talking to another customer and then again to a worker. Also he couldn't understand what I was ordering and kept getting impatient at me. I wrote a review for Grill Kabob Reston about a week ago. I went to the Herndon location yesterday because it's closer than the one in Reston for me. For whatever the reason the food is somewhat different here. Instead of green sauce, it's a brown sauce with a similar base, and the chickpeas were entirely different in flavor. The chicken kabobs were good -- tender and flavorful, but from now on, I think I'll be going to the Reston location instead. read more

The "sauce" is a little creamy for me though (same as Reston Kabob), I prefer it a little lighter. The good thing is that the bottles on the table felt cold which means they are refrigerated. When I crave kabobs, this is the place I go to. I first became a fan at Dulles Mall as they have one located in the food court. After finding one in Herndon, not far from my house, I was very pleased. I usually order the chicken and lamb combo, which usually lasts me for two meals. They give a very generous portion of a full skewer of both chicken and lamb, yellow and white long grain rice, a small salad, naan, and the yogurt sauce and green sauce (delicious!). This place is usually empty. I rarely see anyone dining in, however, I suggest ordering your meal ahead because it can take 15-20min for them to prepare your food. Trust me, its worth the wait though. However, my only "eh" moment is that naan is really only good right out of the tandoori oven. I find that once I get home its not fluffy and wonderful, but cold and meh. One thing I don't like is that a meal does not come with a drink. -_- read more

A couple of years ago this location changed its menu and became the reincarnation of the awesome Reston Kabob whose building was demolished for a Silver Line Metro-related redevelopment (which also claimed a Chili's restaurant nearby). The menu is now the same as the former Reston Kabob and, most importantly, it means that their amazing white sauce is back. They cook to order so be prepared to wait up to twenty minutes for your meal. I recommend the Lamb Kabob platter which includes a salad with rice and a large and tasty warm bread. You can save some money by ordering wraps or salads instead of the platter, but, either way, the meat is exceptionally good. read more

When this place first opened I went for lunch at got the Gyro Special. It was amazing. The meat was hot, bread fresh, and portions were huge. It became a regular place for me and my coworkers. I would take friend there a lot. Service was never great, atmosphere was nonexistent, but man, you couldn't beat the deal. However, since then the prices have gone up and the quality and quantity has gone down. The last two times I went I was extremely disappointed. The portions have shrunk in half (easily) and the quality just wasn't quite as good as it used to be. I really hope they fix this, it's really close to my office and home and would love to frequent more. read more

I come here to eat everyday after I get off of work for lunch. The chicken kabob is amazing and extremely flavorful. I top it off with the white sauce they have and put that on the soft, delicious bread they have as well. The owners are always welcoming and the workers are very nice. Not even finished ordering the guy swiped my card and when I asked for a drink he said: oh too late... when I get to the office there were no chick peaks. Maybe is an extra charge for it but he didn't ask or say anything about it .. I always ask for extra yogurt sauce, never been charged for it nor given attitude by the employees for asking for more. This is my go-to place for a gyro. It's fricking huge. Bread, meat, lettuce, tomato, onion, with the white sauce, wrapped in foil. White and green sauces available on side, though I just take the white. Occasionally, I have enough self-control to just eat half and save the rest for late. I used to go to the Grill Kabob that was/is in Dulles Town Center when my son would just want a bread with some melted butter.
