Well, this one was lacking for sure. I decided to try to Gyro platter. $8.99 for a lot of dried out Basmati rice, minimal salad, and "Gyro" that tasted worse than the Arby's across the street. The only thing I am happy about is that I didn't throw more money away than I did, and that I didn't have to wait in a line, wait very long for my food, and didn't have to make dinner.

The Shawarma was so good!! Plus they are open late & have a super convenient location right on Stark Street. Definitely recommend checking it out!!

Grill On the Go is served from a food truck window and they also do delivery which is great because not many food trucks has that option! Their food is focus on Mediterranean and Middle Eastern. I ordered the Gyro Sandwich and it had a mixed of beef and lamb as the meat, lettuce, tomatoes and some delicious sauce all served inside a pita bread. It comes with a side of your choice of Greek salad or seasoned fries. I ended up with the fries. The gyros were delicious. Had great flavor and packed with food. The pita bread was a tad thick for my liking, but not a huge complaint. The fries were good, well seasoned, but nothing to rave about. All in all, it was an inexpensive meal that filled my Mediterranean cravings. I'd definitely recommend to someone if they're on the hunt for some gyros, especially ones that can be delivered to you.

I ordered a Gyro with Frys. The guy called me and handed me my box. What I got? Fries. No Gyro. Now I have been going to this place for years before it changed ownership but getting back to work with a box full of fries and no Gyro is more than frustrating. I would avoid this one unless you check everything you have ordered they will scam you if they think its possible. Its not even that good anyways. They will also ignore you for their Doordash orders. Much better options at this pod with owners with actual excellent food and customer service. Not sure how this even happened except these dudes just don't Give a.........

Oh my gosh, this food cart is amazing! My husband told me that this food cart has fantastic rating. We love gyro and have a hard time finding good gyro in town. So we decided to eat there today. First impressioin was that the chef was very friendly. The service was fast. And the price was definitely right. You would expect $5.99 for gyro would not be great. But you would be so wrong. The gyro comes with either fries or salad. We chose fries. It also comes with a choice of ketchup or garlic sauce. Ask for garlic sauce and you can thank me later. The gyro has great taste. Portion size is good and there were enough fries for two. So good and we will definitely go back again.

They have everything we love here with a fantastic staff... working really hard. Super friendly guys too! We had the combination dish of baba ganoush, grape leaves, pita bread with hummus and salad. We has seasoned fried with yummy garlic sauce.

I've tried the chicken, beef, and lamb. And I'm not a lamb kind of girl! Everything is so succulent and juicy and flavorful. One time we ordered on a 110 degree day and the store didn't have AC but we still sat inside and waited for our order in the boiling heat with the workers. That's mad dedication!!!!!! I love all the food here.

The entrees without anything added to it like fries , sides , sauces etc are flirting with almost $20 . I ordered the lamb gyro , sure , it's huge but it's super bland . If it isn't for the sauce , it would have been the worst gyro I have ever tasted . The meat is the frozen lamb meat you buy at places like Restaurant Depot in bulk . Bland , dry , tasteless . Pita bread was okay Conclusion: for the prices they're charging , meat should be cooked fresh , you can literally get a better / same gyro in the frozen section of a Safeway for $4-$5 , even Arby's gyro is better and cheaper because their sauce is tastier at half the price . Lamb gyro is a STAPLE at any Mediterranean grill , 90% of people will order it first and if this is how you deliver a first impression , it looks bad for the rest of the menu

One employee apologized for our "long wait" and offered us extra pita on the house, which was nice, although we honestly didn't feel like we had waited that long. The odd part was that the extra pita was never actually brought out. We didn't care enough to ask for it, but it was strange to offer something and then never follow through. Service overall was also pretty lacking. I tipped in the beginning (you pay before getting your meal) and was expecting decent service, but aside from someone bringing the food to our table, there really wasn't any. We ordered at the counter, got our own water cups and pitcher, and nobody checked on us during the meal. Since you order and pay upfront, it honestly felt like there wasn't much incentive for them to provide any service after. The food had some decent items, but between the underwhelming shawarma and almost nonexistent service, the experience was disappointing.

Seven-spice chicken, crunchy toum-dressed slaw, and a double hit of that garlicky toum. Topped with a pile of fries, just like on the beaches of Beirut. Let's get some bite into it. But even before that you can smell what will hit you next a delicious taste of garlicky sauce. And the first bite confirmed that. A not-too-overpowering garlic taste, followed by the crunchy pickle the salty fries and the delicious chicken patty, makes it an outstanding burger with a really unique flavor profile! Well done. The crunchy fresh Cole slaw give it another layer of freshness. The hole burger is a smart composition. If I'll have to recommend something to. Ale or even better would be to put the slaw on top of the meat. With it being on the bottom half of the bun it makes the bun quickly early soggy but that's is or taking away anything from how awesome the burger is taste wise. About ya hala if you want to make a quick break and vacation into Lebanon without here they play authentic music and have a nice decor putting you directly into a cafe in Beirut. Also don't forget to grab one or two of their outstanding sweets. I had reinig the shortbread cookies just Yumm!

Reviewing the menu, there were lots of yummy things to choose from but ultimately we both could not resist the Lamb shank. I'm sad I didn't take a picture of it. It was so tender and delicious. It came with perfect Basmati rice and a side of eggplant stew that was exquisite! I've never had eggplant stew and it was luscious. I dream to about it all night long. It was quiet, comfortable, music was great; songs we all know but with native instruments and flare. We had house red wine - not a big selection of alcohol, which is fine the food is and should be the star. My first impression as we entered here was: the AC was on, and I'm not ready for AC (yet), and the inside was too elegant, and empty. We waited awhile, when a staff appeared. We picked a seat outside, where the weather was pleasant and shady. I needed badly, to use the restroom, so I went back inside, only to be told it's outside. The mural on the walls, obscured the door to the restroom. But, there was no TP, no paper towel, and the trash was full. I had to use a toilet seat cover paper, for my TP, and went back to my seat, not happy with what I just did! I told my husband, who then told the staff, because HE need to use the restroom, too. (We've been gone all morning, this is now lunch hour). The staff gave water, menu and we ordered: The Lamb Shank. I love the eggplant stew! There's also a small salad with the Basmati rice. Also Chicken Kabob Mezza Platter with Pita bread. It was not until we're done eating, and ready to get up, did I notice there was cubed cucumber in the thaziki. But, it's got a very strong vinegar flavor, but I did like the hummus and the ghanoush. (When we eat at these places, we always pick the lamb shanks, btw). I had the other half, for my dinner tonight. The server was friendly, helpful and responsive. The atmosphere, was pleasant, and the photo taken of me, hubby thought I could pass as an Iraqi woman! LOL Thanks for the bag. We picked some crabapples, from down the street, there were 4-5 large trees ready for the pickin' from the sidewalk.

The parking lot has space for seven or eight cars, though it has not been full either of the times I went. This is a legit Somali place. The way I know: both times I have gone, I was the only person in the restaurant who could not speak Somali. The decor is nothing to write home about, but neither I nor anyone else in the restaurant seemed to care. The food is great. I had the lamb something or another and it was a giant hunk of deliciously cooked lamb meat with carrots, peppers and peas atop rice. The first time I went in the restaurant, it was just one lady cooking and working the front, so don't expect much in terms of service. Still, if you are looking for delicious, authentic Somali food, this is a great place. However, the service can be kind of crap, and because it is focused on serving a specific immigrant community, that means that you cannot really depend on what google or yelp says its hours are. According to Google, the restaurant closed at 7, but the second time I visited, the second time I got there, at 6:35, they decided to close up a little early and did not serve me. That is just the kind of compromise you make with this kind of restaurant, but still, it loses them a star.

Over on NE 82nd and Davis is a newer food pod called The Yard, with about 10-15 carts and it happens to be close to where I live. I've hit up a couple of the carts so far but Mira's wasn't usually open when I've been by. Comfort food. That's what my take on Somali food is. At least from what I ate, a dish called Baris and Maraq. A lamb and vegetable stew. On a side note: watch for bones. This stew was loaded with tomatoes, potatoes, green beans, carrots and plenty of lamb all slow cooked over rice. It was the suggestion of the woman running the cart. She said it was one of the most popular items on the menu. She was correct. The other favorite item on the menu was was a beef or chicken option in a dish called Suger. The stew came with two sauces, one a yogurt based sauce and the other, a red sauce, but it wasn't spicy. Nothing was, but it was very tasty. The stew is heavily based on the tomatoes, but you could taste everything. Well seasoned and the lamb was fall off the bone tender. There was also a small salad consisting of diced tomatoes, cucumbers and onions. Basically a palette cleanser. Similar to most Asian restaurants in town, there's enough food that you won't leave hungry. I can easily say that I want to explore more of this menu. I guess I'll see what she suggests next time.
