My boyfriend ordered the honey chicken penne. He loved it. Excellent flavor, pasta and chicken were cooked to perfection. I got the salmon entree with a side salad. It was so delicious! Wonderful seasoning. The salad was fresh and paired well with the salmon. It was very good for the price. Our other friend got the Italian pizza. He was not fond of the crust at all . Grille 26 would normally be a 5 star for me. The menu here is extensive, and wonderful. The folks who started this place were part of the Minerva's group. For those of you who don't know Minerva's, it is arguably the best restaurant in Sioux Falls for the last 30 years. You will find something for everyone on the menu, including kids. The prices are reasonable, considering the high quality of the food. My last experience was not so good on the service side, and it was not the first time this has happened. The best servers in this group are all looking to make their way to Minerva's, and Grille 26 is left with the rest and all of the newbies. The kitchen is slow, often. If this was my restaurant, I would make sure that a manager speaks with our table before, during and after our meal. It is often the case at Grille 26, I never see a manager. read more

This is the second trip here for my wife and I. Both trips were for the late night happy hour 9pm-11pm that includes $2 apps, half price pizzas, $1 off 22oz taps, $2 off margarita and $3.50 premium wells. The well whiskey is windsor. Tonight we ordered 'The Funky Hawaiian' and 'The Grinder' (Pictured from right to left). Both pizzas had a soft chewy crust and included delicious cheese and toppings. At half price this is well worth the stop and even have a half pizza left over for the end of the night. Grille 26 is a casual concept of the fine dining experience of 'Minervas' located downtown. Although casual, it has nice decor and ambience making it more of an upscale casual. With that being said, we've sat at the rail both trips being served by a graying middle aged man who comes off just a little pretentious. He's nice and seems to have good intentions, but some may find it unwelcoming or uncomfortable. Sorry, maybe it's just me.... 3.5 stars. This was my lunch spot a few times while in South Dakota. The apple gorgonzola salad was awesome! They give you a nice hunk of bread with your meal, lots of baked apples and cheese. It really hit the spot. They are a little heavy handed with the dressing so I recommend getting it on the side. The menu is expansive. There is something for everyone. My only wonder is with the freshness of the food they use- some of it must be frozen. Anyways, it is still decent quality. My co-workers and I all agree on a solid 3.5 stars. Date night with my wife! There were highlights and some disappointments. "Woohoo" level: 1) I was with my wife and she looked smokin' hot! 2) The Bangkok Shrimp appetizer was very good and I would recommend it! "Yay!" level: 1) The Saffron Broth Mussels were very tasty. The broth was delicious and I asked for extra bread to soak it up! 2) Waitress was very nice and fairly attentive. "A-OK" level" 1) Salmon Benedict. The prosciutto wrap was good. "Meh" level: 1) The mussels had been handled quite roughly and there were many broken shells pieces in the broth and mussels. I didn't enjoy spitting out mussel shell pieces. 2) The Salmon was a little over cooked. It was not as moist as I would want. The saffron hollandaise was barely there. Recommendation if you order the Salmon Benedict is to ask for an extra side of saffron hollandaise. 3) Dueling Brownies were OK but lacking in freshness. My wife said afterwards that Grille 26 seemed like it was a restaurant that didn't quite know what it's identity was. It was kind of like an Applebees with a more romantic ambiance. This is kind of like the kid about whom a teacher would write a note to the parents saying "Your student lacks focus but show potential." They definitely could have stepped up their game! Was there for dinner with a friend around 8:30. We were handed menus quite quickly. The server was really nice and let us get on with our talking. He then provided US with some recommendations that worked really well. We shared the pesto mushroom pizza and the saffron mussels. The mussels were pretty good and quite large for an appetizer, good thing we did share it. By the time we got to the pizza it was only slightly warm. It was still good but could have been better hot. Don't judge a book by its cover applies to this restaurant. Plenty of parking available in the strip mall type parking lot. Upon arrival, I wasn't sure what to expect, based on the unusual exterior. However, I was seated and greeted by our friendly server. I had salmon (surprise surprise) and added a side salad to start. Both dishes were excellent. The restaurant was nearly full on a Wednesday night, so apparently this place is a hit with the locals. I'd definitely return here next time I'm in Sioux Falls. read more

The service is great. They are fast and attentive. The place is clean, bright and modern. It feels like an very upscale diner or maybe a maybe a brewery. I came on a Sunday early afternoon and was not crowded and the music in the background was soothing. A good place to stop by with friends or family. My sister and I eat there often when I come to Sioux Falls for a visit and we've always been pleased with the food, service and ambiance.

Called ahead of time to check no dress code and they were open during covid. Very nice person answered only take reservations for 5 or more no dress code come on over only 2 tables waiting and was about to seat them. We came right over 15-20 min wait but looked nice so stayed and waited......less then stated time nice! Seated in large booth plenty of room Jeff came within min very friendly positive took drink orders asked for id from my 21 year old he ordered Coors light (rookie) I asked Geoff local brew and said Fernson always order local brew when out of town wife ordered wine said very good. Beers were great! We got our dinner order in right away. Sons ordered Steak gorgonzola with penne pasta, wife ordered chicken risotto, (which I was going to have but she stole mine... Always have a 2nd when ordering last, I'lll have a bite anyway) i ordered angus meatloaf. We also all ordered side salad.... Salads all were good nice job on the homemade creaser dressing. Dinner served see pictures but they don't do food justice. Everyone said they loved there meals. Service was outstanding company was great. Felt a little underdressed ( where a collard shirt). This place is a must if you are visiting and I would be a regular if I lived close. My partner and I went here for our one year anniversary and we were pleasantly surprised to find the what seemed to look like elegant place and find it was a casual dining place! I had received a 50 dollar gift card and found out that I'd have leftovers! The grilled shrimp plate was well worth the 20 bucks as it was phenomenal and their oven baked pizzas were wonderful! The only criticism I'd have is that I ordered it plain and instead it had spices on it. The only downside to the night was that our waiter took forever to take our order and never refilled (or asked) until we were ready to leave. Otherwise I'd have given a 5star. read more

Went to Grille26 for early dinner. There were gluten free icons on some of their food choices. I asked the server if their gluten-free items were cooked on a dedicated grill/pans. She said no but they take precautions. I asked like what? She said didn't know. I ordered Blackened Salmon which arrived on top of a salad made of sliced vegetables (green, red and yellow peppers, zucchini slices and other vegetables with Blue Cheese dressing on all) and mashed potatoes. The Blackened Salmon had a coating of I don't know what all. Only ate the salmon, a little of the mashed potatoes and none of the salad. Tonight I am nauseated and bloated and I ate very little. On the way out another waitress said goodbye and was friendly. I told her with all due respect I asked if the had a dedicated grill. She said no but if they know when you order they will wash the grill before cooking your food. Then there is the rest of the meal that wasn't cooked on the grill how is that gluten free with the coating/spice/salad dressings on all of it. I also informed her that cross contamination is equally bad. She said they do their best but it's too expensive to have separate grill and accommodations. While I appreciate they want to please their customers they don't realize they can make GF people very sick and therefore shouldn't identify their specific dishes with their gluten free icon. I am nauseated and bloated even though I ate only the salmon and a small amount of mashed potatoes. Obviously it wasn't gluten free. Needless to say I will never trust them or go there again. This was a fantastic choice for a stop while overnighting on the way out of the pheasant lands of South Dakota. I had dined in years past at the hotel where we were staying, and a quick Yelp search told me this was the spot to try. Grill 26 did not disappoint. I've been here many times for breakfast, lunch, and dinner with our family. My parents like it, and the fact that they continue to return should signal that it's not terribly awful. Basically, you won't be greatly disappointed if your expectations aren't too high. Grille 26 offers a nice atmosphere with both a restaurant area and bar area. We usually sit in the bar, and there is a nice selection of beers on tap and wines. The menu is diverse, but there's nothing I've had here that I've really been amazed by that I would rush back for. The service is generally pretty good, but the food is very average and there's definitely some things I've ordered that I would categorize as 'bad'.
