This is a warm, comfortable place. It's really nice, but casual. I ordered the salmon and it was fabulous! The potatoes were good, and so were my veggies. This is probably the only time I have ever gotten squash that had a great buttery taste. It was seasoned perfectly. My husband and I are not from Sioux Falls, but we will definitely stop by again. We love McNally's. St. Patrick's Day it's a must but any day it s just a really nice comfortable place to eat and have drinks.

We stopped hoping to grab some dinner. There's a nice outside area. Sitting out there we were asked if we were just drinkin' or eatin'. Originally we were going to split an app., but I was hungry so we decided on meals. I got the salmon and it was GREAT! The mashed potatoes were delicious. I even enjoyed the cooked veggies that came w/it, am I am NOT a huge cooked veggie fan. Hubby got some steak tips that came with bread and a dipping sauce. The steak was yummy. A little pricy for what we got, I think, but the food was good. Service was a little slow/off. My husband did receive a 'free' Guiness because the waitress made a mistake and ordered an extra. Can't complain about that! The inside is cool. A little too loud for my taste, but it's cool. They had a girl singing and playing a piano. Bathrooms were nice and clean. There was also a game room but I didn't check that space out. Menu is quite small, but that isn't always a bad thing. Typically that means they do their food well. The area this place is in is NICE! Came here for a late bite to eat and a drink. Fun interior with lively atmosphere - a live musician playing, and college football on tv. Service was prompt and kind. Went with the Philly Cheese - the hoagie was soft and warm and it had a healthy serving of steak. I did add hot sauce which was a nice touch in my opinion. Chips were solid but would rather have fries - not the MO here as I understand. Drink was solid, wish I remembered it's name. Great wait staff. We tried 3 appetizers and 2 dishes. All was 'good enough' but not something to write home about. Prices were reasonable. We like the small rooms where. If you have a small child, you can shut the door and then when the child wants to walk about, it's walking within 'your space'. read more

The service at McNallys was exceptional. The ambiance was very pleasant and the food was very good. The only subtraction from the day was the drinks are poured very weak. A couple people in our party ordered shots and they were not even a full shot but a mini version. Drinks are over-priced for what you get. read more

It had been one year since I'd been to McNally's because of COVID. Some nice improvements. The menu has been scaled down. My past few visits, the food was disappointing. Not this time! I ordered the Jameson Whiskey Steak. It was perfectly medium rare, very tender. The mashed potatoes were excellent. Great service! My only complaints - the chairs are too small for tall people! Also, the cutlery is cheap - difficult to cut even a good steak with a bad knife. read more

McNallys is special to us. We had our 1st date there and also my fiancé proposed there. Last week we went for an early dinner about 4pm. The waitress was friendly and helpful. The Leek Soup looked more like a thick gravy, but it didn't taste as bad as it looked. A cheeseburger I ordered medium rare was overdone and very dry. We didn't order Bread Pudding this time because the last several times it was dry and hard. What used to be a fun place with delicious food has changed. We paid & tipped and left--but we will not be coming back. Days later we ended up downtown at the Blarney Stone. The food was great as it consistently always is and their Bread Pudding is to die for. We will be going there for our Irish fare. read more

The wait staff was sooo thin (1 guy) that we got up to leave after waiting 15+ minutes after getting a drink. The waiter came over because I went to the bar to pay and leave. They had outdoor and indoor seating but the one waiter was having to handle both. The owner should be ashamed for putting him through that ordeal. The food? Either overpriced or too small a portion. Update on the post. First time I had the pretzels they were awesome this time very disappointed. They not only were hard but they seem to have shrunk and the cost for three tiny pretzels $10. Won't be coming back anytime soon. Drinks we had the Jameson jewel which was very good. First post see below. Pretzels are awesome as is the Dublin tea, although a little strong on the sour. Stay away from the grape cough syrup also known as peach berry press as we were not fans same with the diet cherry Coke similar to robitusin . Davis was the waiter when we went in on a Saturday at about 1 PM. He was very nice and helpful. I ordered a Shamrock Club Sandwich and it was pretty good (although I wish I would've ordered something else, I eat sandwiches too much). The place looked pretty clean, which is always good to see. The food came out fast as well. Additionally, this pub be playing the latest tracks and it had the pub popping so hard. And they had some college football games. Good vibe overall and this is somewhere I would definitely recommend for my friends and family to attend. The bathrooms were clean too. I don't have anything else to say. read more

We arrived at about 5pm. Not too busy, but there were a few people already seated. Our waiter came over shortly after we sat down and soon brought us our "ice tea". It was wet and cold, lots of ice, pale brown, and tasted like water. He said he would be back in a couple of minutes to take our order. After he spent lots of time chatting with a pretty blonde waitress and serving other tables, he finally came to take our order. He couldn't answer a question about a menu item and finally asked a passing waiter. We ordered and waited for quite some time for our food to be served. The burger was over done and dry, but hot. The Dublin Dog arrived with cold toppings which apparently cooled the meat, and it also had a cold bun. When we told the waiter about it being cold, he sent a manager over. He offered to make another one, which we refused. Instead, they took half off the total bill. We thanked the manager. Will not get the Dublin Dog again, and will ask for the burger to be done medium well and not well done IF we get a burger at all. read more

I have always been a fan of McNally's. I've been there many times and have never been disappointed. My two go to's are the bangers and mashed and the patty melt. I really enjoy that it is a 21 and up place to be with amazing food and plenty of drinks. It's nice to be in a place without a screaming baby or an annoying child! The staff are friendly and I always receive my food quick. Even during busy times. Tonight I went with the patty melt and the Apple and celery soup! I liked both and took half the patty melt home for a nice lunch tomorrow. I highly recommend visiting this charming restaurant. Sit on the patio during the nice weather for an enhanced experience. On a busy Friday night the service was outstanding. For that and a nice variety of whisky, they get three stars. Unfortunately, it was so loud we couldn't have a conversation, and this wasn't due to a live band, as there was none. I didn't know they were actually playing Irish music until I went the restroom and could hear it in there. The food left a lot to be desired; the meat loaf gravy was extremely salty, the green beans were cold, and the bread pudding was not sweet, neither was the Shamrock cake (even the cream cheese frosting was not sweet at all). My husband's top sirloin was mediocre, however, the Jamison sauce was tasty. Maybe if you were going with a group of friends and can out-yell the other patrons, and not order food, but just drinks, this would be the place. I do like that their Over 21 rule. read more

I only ever take the time to leave a review if it's 5 stars and try to give disappointing places the benefit of the doubt and leave them be, but this will be an exception. Our waitress immediately came to our table to greet us and give us our drinks while we looked at the menu, then never returned. We patiently waited for over half an hour as we watched her repeatedly pass us giggling as she talked to her friend on the phone, never stopping once or even glancing at us. The place was far from busy--almost all the other tables were empty and waited on by other servers. We finally ended up walking out and leaving some cash on the table for my iced tea. Very unfortunate because we'd talked about going here for months and drove an hour and a half just to dine here. Nice ambiance and probably would have been a much better experience if we'd had any other server, but she spoiled it for us. Great atmosphere in this pub located on the Southern end of Sioux Falls. It can be loud at times but I guess you get that with a busy overflowing pub. The food is typical pub food but tastes great. My biggest complaint is that I went in there once with my 2 yr old to have dinner on a quiet night and was told to leave. I guess the rules are different in South Dakota than other states and countries. Where I grew up there was always a family area in pubs where families could enjoy the atmosphere. They should have a sign that says 21+ only. Crazy when they act like a restaurant/pub but only allow adults.So they just get an A-OK from me. read more

I love this place! Live music on weekends. Great specialty drink menu (try the hard cider and Jameson or the Dirty Girl Scout). The decor is neat. And nice looking outdoor patio I'm excited to try once all the snow melts. Oh and the walleye sandwich is delicious, so good I actually had it for dinner two nights in a row. Been back and I have to say I can't forgive the food anymore. We ordered the Guiness cheese dip with pita, etc. It came with POTATO CHIPS. And was TASTELESS. We even tried to doctor it up with Husband's Guiness and salt and pepper, but it was still tasteless (like pure cream cheese). That being said, apparently you should come here for beer, booze, any kind of alcohol is okay. This place was meant for drinking, not eating, imho. read more
