They didn't care that I bought it another location that was far away when I was out of town. They sell the products and they would provide me with a customer service phone number. Obviously, these people haven't been here in awhile. Grills True Value has been a staple of this community, long before I moved here. I moved here in 1984, Built a home across the street from Kenny Grill, (founder of Grill's True value.) What an incredible man! Kenny finally retired, and sold the business. I wasn't sure If anyone could replace his "Personal Service and Dry Sense of Humor." Sometimes I didn't catch the joke's he told, until I was in the parking lot. Then I would burst out laughing. (and catch a few strange looks of course). when the store came under new management, there may have been a hick-up or two. As all good things do, It took awhile, re-stocking shelves, selling off old inventory, building a new team from the ground-up. Personally, I think they hit a Home Run. With a mix of old staff and new, the up-grades in inventory. People forget how hard it is to replace a "True Legend", and Kenny Grill was indeed, a very important part of Midlothian's History. So, to those few, who can't appreciate the importance of small business's in the community. Enjoy trying to get personal service and knowledgeable advice from those Big Box Stores. It's a Little Hardware Store in the Middle of Town. It's nice having one nearby but lately they don't have anything in stock. I understand there was an Ownership Cahnge and a Remodel Going on. Just try to keep Your shelves stocked somewhat. Hopefully they pull thru sooner then later. read more

This place used to be my go to place when I had to run in a grab something quick, but all they care about now is their remodel that has been going on forever. Newsflash, your new paint isn't going to have customers knocking down the door. They don't even care about stocking their items. I don't know why I keep going back thinking "hey maybe they are stocked up." NOPE! How do you not even carry sanding pads for power sanders.. You're a hardware store get your stuff together and stock up your bare essentials cause I don't want to go to Menards anymore. read more

Very disappointed with lack of service that my husband received when he went to Grill's on 7/7/18. It was 4:50pm. They close at 5:00pm. 10 minutes remaining open. My husband went to the register and told the cashier that he would like to have a propane tank filled. She said, sorry that is closed for the day. He responded and said, that there is a guy out there filling someone elses propane tank right now. My wife is parked back there waiting. She said, sorry that is the last one for the day. She said we close in 10 minutes we can't fill the tank. He came back out to the car and told me the conversation he had with her and was shocked at the lack of customer service when the store was still open. My husband was a resident of Midlothian for over 40 years and his entire family always went to that store because it was a local business and they supported the business, not sure if he will be supporting them going forward. Actually, because of the cashier, we found another place that is $5.00 less to fill the propane tank and so now they will get our business in the future. We will also go to another True Value or even Ace Hardware. My husband was supposed to call the owner of the store because he knows him but not sure if he did. Just a word of advise, don't go to the store if they are going to close in the next 10 minutes. They probably won't want you business. Sorry but this was very upsetting. read more

Such a good store to goto. Had the item we were looking for while some competitors never even heard or carried them in there life. True Value has amazing workers and needs more recognition for it. If i could give more stars i would. read more

Upon entering the store I was greeted by a cashier, Meghan Mckenna, I believe it was, and I was immediately shocked to hear her unabashedly continue her conversation with her fellow cashier about rather inappropriate, private and intimate matters completely irrelevant to the workplace. Surely, she could have waited until after work to talk of such things or at least until I was out of earshot. Such immature behavior coming from this young woman makes me question the management's decision on her hire. Please, re-evaluate this staff member. Store is well stocked and owner very knowledgeable on products for sale, sure do miss Ken Grill though! read more
