Never have I ever had such ignorance from a customer service agent. I went to Home Dept for a return and the system was down for returns. Understandable! I had the item I wanted to return and recite in my hand and asked can I go get the item I need and return this later. With her hand oh her hip shouted NO. Remind you she was not even assisting from close proximity. She stood at the counter that faces the aisles. (Female black dressed in all tan she was short and stocky) Thank goodness there was a nice lady slimmer blonde hair that actually walked over to the sign that said returns and said as long as you have your receipt which I replied I did she said go ahead. Please Home Depot do better with your hitting. Theses ignorant people are not helping your company. read more

There's probably 3-4 helpful employees in the whole store at any point if you can get anyone's attention. They'll tell you to go home and order online instead of price matching their own website. The customer service/order pick up desk? Total clown show every time I have to go through them. Ill drive another 5-10 minutes to any other HD rather than waste any more time in Alsip. read more

So, this store was one of my favorite shop to go whenever I needed to purchase something for our home, this was one of the shops that I frequented regularly. It is more convenient for us because it is closer to our home and also it has a variety of god products. However, over the last few months, I've noticed that customer service has deteriorated significantly. My wife and I stopped by to pick up a light fixture and a new shower head, just like we did last week. And, unfortunately, the other members of the team always appear to be in a crazed state. The employees always appear to be overworked and unwilling to lend a hand or even answer a straightforward question. Perhaps they should begin disciplining their employees immediately. The shop itself is lovely, and they have everything you could possibly need, but please improve your customer service. read more

This used to be my favorite Home Depot. It's generally not as busy and it's a short ride. However, the customer service has gotten terrible. Here's what I encountered on my last two visits: several employees dancing with each other in the main/middle aisle and obstructing traffic flow, a service desk employee arguing with me over the color of ceiling paint (it goes on pink and dries white; she thought I dyed the paint pink), and an old lady who yelled at me for leaving the store via a non-designated exit. We recently bought a house and have had so many problems with this store. From flooring to appliances to lawn and garden to simply making a purchase has been such a pain. Our flooring project went from $4,000 to $8,000. (Still not sure why) Our appliances were delivered damaged. Our "brand new" weed wacker had grass and dirt all over it straight out of the box. And we waited 45 minutes for them to figure out how to do a return re-ring so we could receive our military discount. Such a mess. read more

Best store I have ever been to I will drive over 45 minutes out of my way to go to this store. I buy all my stuff here and do all my tool and vehicle rentals here. Peter and Bob in tool rental are always very knowledgeable and willing to go above and beyond to help everyone. I have even seen Peter go out to the concrete area to help people or walk a person even me on more then one occasion to the other end of the store to help find something. Everyone else I have ever ran into always tells me where to go to find something but will not show me where it is at. These guys need to be recognized for their hard work and outstanding customer service. I will be asking for them anytime I come in. Thank you for having them at your store. read more

I visited this location on 22DEC22. The 5 stars for this review are relagated to the associate Nieve. I came into the store stressed and confused looking for an extension cord that likely doesn't exist. I requested for Nieve to help me find it, and they helped me as best they were able. They walk with me to were they sold cords with negative results. They then walked to a computer and put in the specifications for my extension cord, but they didn't sell anything like the one I was looking for. They even attempted to see if they had the snowblower in stock I needed to see if they could better figure out what kind of cord I needed. However, we weren't able to find any pictures to help figure out what cord I needed. Nieve thought it strange by the way I was describing it. However, they were respectful dealing with my later realized error and educated me in a non-condescending way and informed me why the item I was mistakenly looking for likely was wrong. Nieve went over and beyond and deserves recognition for their work ethic, kindness, and knowledgeability. They even gave me the right cord I needed before I left! read more

This is my go to HomeDepot. I have one closer to my house but I rather come here. The customer service is great. For instance, I needed to buy material for a deck project I'm doing and I went online to place the order but when I checked out half of the wood wasn't in stock at their location so I would have had to place two orders and paid for two shipments. So I went into the store and straight to the service and got help right away. I should them what I needed and they placed the order through both stores and only charge me for one shipment. It took about 45mins to figure things out but I have the patience and because of my patience and understanding I also was given a discount. I purchased a new Kohler faucet for my kitchen. When I came to fit it, I found that I needed a fitting kit to adapt the hoses to the taps in the house, which are standard pipe compression fittings. I have tried on numerous occasions to get the required parts from Home Depot, to no avail. Apparently, Home Depot don't sell those kits any more and they refer you to M&R Plumbing to 'install' the faucet for you. It would appear that perhaps Home Depot sold those kits to the plumbing company and the faucet to me. BEWARE of buying plumbing items from Home Depot and don't expect much in the way of after-sales service. All they want is for you to utilize their contractors. read more

I order dryer from them in January when they delivered the dryer the door don't close they took the dryer that was on 2/8/21 I call that day I was told I should get one delivered on 2/16 which is today they claim the call and no one answered just send in email if no one answered so I call them to see when are they coming with the dryer I found out the out stock and I have to wait tell 2/22 from January 26 to February 22 that a month I don't think I be shopping at home depot again it was a horrible experience read more

Never again for me. I came in to order between 6000 and 9000 in decking. Woman working the PRO counter tells me she does not know how to take a lumber order. Apparently the only person that knows how take the order doesn't come in till later. She never got out of her seat. So why is this person working the PRO desk and unable to do the job? I then went get a propane refill and the cashier Elizabeth acted as if I was bothing her. I went to 2 managers who could careless. Awful experience, I took my money somewhere else. So we bought a new house in April. On April 24 we Ordered a 6 burner stove ($2400), a Samsung fridge and GE washer dryer. We ordered online after waiting 45 minutes for someone to help us, but we understood the short staffing relates to covid. The stove was delivered promptly. The remaining appliances were scheduled for delivery 5/28. I used the tracker link in the email they sent confirming delivery on 5/26 and it was noted as to be delivered 5/28. 5/28 morning comes, no call as promised with a delivery window. (Should have been called the night before, actually). I call the 1800 number and I'm told it's rescheduled to 6/17. Almost 2 weeks after we are supposed to move in. Why? Because GE does not have any of the washers that Home Depot took our money for, and they're not even in production, but they might be ready by the 17th, no guarantee. Well can you deliver my fridge? No, we only do one delivery. But how is it our problem that you either took our money for an appliance And either didn't reserve one for us or didn't tell us they were out of stock...in which case we would have picked another set. The girl was very nice and rescheduled delivery of just the fridge for 6/2 6/2 comes, again, no call. I call them again...they man profusely apologized, said because Of the riots they couldn't get to us (Tracker had them as 2 stops away) and again rescheduled for 6/6. June 6 comes, I'm using the tracker, they're on time...they call my husband and said we are picking up your fridge right ? Husband says no, there's nothing to pick up, you're just dropping off. Driver said "we got no fridge on our truck. Sorry" and hangs up. We are both first responders. Husbands days off have been canceled since 5/28. We are just tying to move in at this point. We are exhausted. Husband calls the manager of the alsip IL store, " Troy". Who has no explanation but guarantees the fridge will be delivered 6/8. Husband says you need to either upgrade us to the next model of GE washer dryer or change the order to a comparable set in another brand. Troy assured him that he would follow up and see what he could do and would call hubby back on Monday 6/8. This conversation happened Friday 6/5. The fridge was delivered. There was no call from Troy. Hubby called HD to ask for Troy and Was told he was off today (6/8). Hubby at this point says, you know what? Cancel the washer and dryer. This is ridiculous and we will never step foot in another Home Depot. We called Grand Appliance in Orland Park with our story of woe and they assured us they can get us a similar set and that it will be delivered without the issues we experienced with Home Depot. The lack of customer service, communication and the utter lack of disregard for our time was disgusting. Avoid this place at any cost. And Troy? If you read this? Know I copied it to corporate: you were extremely disappointing. 6/10/20. Walked into Grand Appliances in Orland...met Jeff S who was UH MAZING....walked out in 10 minutes with the washer and dryer we wanted ..for $300 less than Home Depot...delivered and installed. I was able to find an antique brass faucet in this store that I installed fairly easy and it works and looks great. It was very cheap too and most importantly lead free. I was not able to find anything close to that neither at Menards nor at Amazon nor other online stores. I love my new bathroom faucet. I like the Home Depot store in Alsip. I applied for their store card and I was approved right away and they gave me a $25 discount too. The staff is extremely helpful here. I definitely recommend this store. read more

I needed a new grill and went online to find one. Home Depot had what I wanted. They seemed short handed, understandably given the current "government stipends" being passed out like candy at a parade. But the people at work here were of a different set of values and I was lucky enough to have them assisting me. One person, Joe I believe took the time to find the grill I wanted still in the carton not yet assembled. One left, so now I didn't have to drag a fully assembled one to the third floor. Nice. It has been my personal experience is that when an associate is unable to answer my question they always take it upon themselves to find someone who can. Friendly, very attentive and very customer service oriented. Unfortunately, some customers can be impatient and unruly and these are the ones who typically write bad reviews. On Friday April 10,2020 my dear friend of 55 years purchased and had installed the same day a 50 gallon Gas Water Heater from Home Depot. The installation company was one that Home Depot offers, phone number given right on ordering page. In this day of the Covid-19 virus and having a family of 5, water is a must and valuable! Not that running her household,being the sole worker in her house and her husband is battling cancer, she was in dyer need of this water heater. She paid $1799.00 to have a $599.00 gas water heater installed. (yes, installation, taxes, removal of old water heater and delivery) were included in the price but at a cost of $1200.00??????? (inclusive) She lives 10 minutes from the store! No itemized bill could be given she later found out because price was "all inclusive". Therefor she did not know exactly what was charged to her? The interesting thing is, I called the next day and the exact same gas water heater, same inclusive package was offered to me at $1499.00 which is 300.00 less, on a Saturday! This is terrible! Ordered appliances November 15th 2017. Got fridge and stove 5 days later. Still waiting on dishwasher and microwave. Was supposed to FINALLY be delivered January 15 2018, 2 MONTHS to the day of the purchase. Got a call saying the delivery is postponed for ANOTHER 5 days because of them not having the microwave. Remember, they notified me of this 1 week before the delivery was supposed to take place. They had 2 months to figure this out!! read more

Went there looking for a part for my sink, not one person in the plumbing department, saw a couple of associates chatting by the kitchen area, they told me look in another aisle. Typical terrible home depot service, selection is limited, special order departments for blinds, cabinets, and carpeting are inexperienced and have limited product knowledge. I would go to a different home depot if possible. I go to this place all the ti e because it is close. I had issues with cabinets, carpet, and blinds ordered from here all because of associate mistakes. They do a terrible job at training these guys. You definitely get what you pay for. In July 2015, I signed a contract with Home Depot for a bathroom remodel. The job was to convert a Jack and Jill bathroom and adjoining closet into 2 full bathrooms at a cost of $41,000, with 2 years free financing. Home Depot contracted the work to Absolute Construction. I know I could have gotten the job done cheaper but I thought by going with Home Depot, I would get good service and a great bathroom remodel. In November 2015, Absolute Construction began the work. The work that was suppose to take approximately 2 weeks but has still not been completed. I have not had the full use of 2 completed bathrooms or even one totally completed bathroom since the work started almost a year ago. Absolute Construction did shoddy, unprofessional work and had to continue to return to do or redo several things, such as caulking, painting, electrical work, cabinet replacement, cabinet door replacement, fixtures, tile replacement, grout replacement and much more. Each time the workers came to fix a previous problem, they messed up something else, such as wall damage, spilled paint on the floor and front sidewalk, scratches on the cabinets or fixtures. This has continued for almost a year. Every time the workers come to fix something, they mess up something else and/or do not address the original problem. I suspected that the Absolute installers were bringing in workers who were not Absolute employees because of the shoddy, unprofessional work and because they brought in the workers after I left. I inquired about this to Absolute several times but they never responded. Eventually I set up a video to prove my suspicion. After showing the video to Home Depot/Absolute Construction management earlier this month, they admitted that one of the workers was not an Absolute Construction employee. Several other people, who I do not have on video were not identified when I inquired who they were. One day I came home unexpectedly and an unidentified man was in my home working. The installer, who I let into my house in the morning and then I left for a few hours, was not in my home with the stranger and did not return that day. Around July 2016, I contacted Home Depot with my concerns hoping they would intervene on my behalf. I have been working with Home Depot since then but they have not been very helpful. As of 1/4/17, the work still has not been completed. I'm still trying to get Home Depot to: Complete the work correctly, to my satisfaction, addressing all of the issues within the next few weeks. Reset the financing so that the 2 year free financing starts when the jobs is complete as opposed July 2015 (I have been paying since July 2015). Reduce the payment to reflect the time, aggravation, breach of advertised product and services (estimate given for work was 2 weeks; promised licensed insured installers who have gone through background checks, 2 years free financing). In addition I want other consumers to be aware of the unscrupulous business practice of Home Depot/Absolute Construction: Expose the practice of turning a blind eye to installers bringing in other workers who are not employees of Absolute. Expose the shoddy work being done at high costs. I accepted the high costs believing that Home Depot would provide me with a high-level of trust, integrity, service and product. We ordered a new gas range on Sunday, August 19th, and it was to be delivered between 3pm-7pm yesterday, August 23rd. We contacted customer service at 7pm after waiting, and were told the delivery company attempted delivery at 4:11pm, but no one was home so they attempted to call us. Both were complete lies! My kids and I were outside at this time and didn't see any delivery trucks, nor did my husband or I receive a phone call that they were attempting delivery. The customer service was SO poor, in that my husband couldn't get through on the phone so he spent 2 hours chatting with a service rep, who could only reschedule delivery for August 29th!! Unacceptable!! How the delivery window went from 4 days to an additional 6 days is beyond me!! We will NEVER order appliances through them again, I was in disbelief at their unwillingness to make things right after the complete lies we were told!! read more
