I visited this store on Sunday , December 19th at 5:00pm. The store was clean and not crowed. Unfortunately, they were not enforcing the mask mandate. Many customers and several employees were not wearing a mask, which made me feel uncomfortable. Also, there were 3 employees playing a game of catch with packs of toilet paper. I asked them to help me find an item , and they provided zero assistance. They pointed , and couldn't tell me the aisle. As a result, I left the store empty handed . Sorry I interrupted your game ! Lastly, I saw 2 dogs walking around the store, and I'm very allergic to them. Obviously, this store is a Free for all with no management at all. I had an issue with a purchase at another location (I needed a copy of a receipt) but not wanting to drive out there, I made a phone call and was told I would need to refund the items and then buy again to get a receipt. Anyway, when I stopped at my local store I explained the situation to Jaylyn at the service desk and within 2 minutes I had the physical receipt I wanted, without all the returning and rebuying. I came here again because it's close to my place of business. The most useless team members I've ever seen in any business. That reflects on the store management as they've done a very poor job vetting/hiring and training these team members properly before putting them in a position to represent Homedepot. I was looking for two things: batteries and a toolbox. They couldn't find the batteries, so I asked if they could find them on their handheld, but they said they couldn't search if they didn't have the exact UPC/SKU, which is very stupid. I asked if they could get another team member with more knowledge, they said there's no one else... There was no attempt of any help. 1 word for this Home Depot. Disorganized. Went in today to find some sockets I'm missing. Normally they have drawers full of individual sockets. Ordered a stove online waited two weeks for installation, when the service men came they did not have the electric cord needed, no haul away order even though we showed them our paper work that we paid for both things so they left the stove in our garage and would not bring it into our house. Customer service line said we would have to wait an additional 5 days for installation but that someone from the store would come the next day to move it to the side so we could get our car back in the garage, this never happened we had to move it ourselves!!! Not sure why this place is rated so low.. probably people only come on to review when they've had a bad experience is my guess. Regardless, this was my fourth trip to the Depot this evening and it was quite pleasant. We were approached multiple times by workers asking if we needed help, and were directed to the correct place. It's a huge store, so have patience when you're trying to find things on your own. The only thing I would knock is their selection of corner curtain rods.. the Martha Stewart collection is lacking good design, and that is the ONLY option for corner rods. We'll have to go on Amazon or something to find suitable ones. read more

This review is exclusively for the appliance section. I went to the Home Depot in Orland on 30NOV20 to buy a new washer and dryer. I was helped by a cute young woman with very attractive colored eyes. Although one of the models I wanted was out of stock, the sales rep managed to help me find another one as close in price and style to the one I originally sought. I wasn't happy that the expected delivery date was 01MAR21, but the sales rep was very apologetic about not being able to give me my original requested item and the far off delivery date, which honestly did make up for it. I was also appreciative of the fact that she did what she could to make the purchase as affordable as possible. The sales rep was knowledgeable and generally pleasant. I will only be buying major appliances from her in the future! read more

This Home Depot is much like all the other big box stores - like Menards and Lowes. This particular store is laid out the same but seems a much more tired presentation of wares. Most of the stuff is stacked too high to see, or they tip it out so you can make out what it is. Customer service is not so good...you have to find someone first. If I was ranking customer service...it would be Lowes, Menards, and then Home Depot. Too much store and too few people. This store, as are most Home Depots, is really set up for men. The racks are high, the materials stocked are oftentimes for contractors instead of home owners, they expect you to know what you want and assume you can find it yourself, and the aisles are relatively narrow and cluttered. Women and families would be more comfortable at Lowes (where everything isn't stacked to the roof) or at Menards (where they have so much room the aisles are really wide). Either way...for service you have to go to an Ace Hardware...for price you have to go to a big box store. Your choice. read more

I was at the store today 4/26/2020 Orland Park location didn't get anything but attitude.. lady was standing outside let me stand in line and I am a handicap ... I told her I can't stand and with attitude goes even handicapped people will be standing in line . Asked her even elderly people who can barely walk will be standing in line too , she goes yes ... DO NOT ORDER BLINDS FROM THIS HOME DEPOT. I recently just had the worst experience with ordering blinds from Home Depot and I don't want anyone else to go through the same experience. Just spend the extra money and hire a professional company. First off, I ordered blinds for only four windows over two months ago and they finally finished installing the last one yesterday. That took way longer than it should have. Second, they charged me to send out a "professional" to measure my windows and when the blinds came one of them was the wrong length! Then they had to send it back and reorder which took another 2 weeks. Finally when the blind came it was the WRONG one. It didn't match the other window and the Valance was an outer mount not an inner mount!!!! Then they refused to refund me the fee they charged me to send out a professional. This use to be my favorite store to go to for all my DIY projects and home repairs. I have a Lowes 2 blocks from me but I would drive all the way across town to go to this store. They always had knowledgeable and friendly staff. Now when I go there the staff doesn't have the answers to my questions, don't know where their products are located, and are generally not as friendly as they use to be. The customer service has dropped significantly as well. The last time I've tried to return something it was like they were trying to find reasons not to take it back when the item was in perfect condition and I had the receipt. They also tried to avoid giving me a sale price on an item they didn't have in stock at the time and a staff member said I'd get the sale when it came in. When it came in I had to get the store manager involved to get the sale price and he still didn't want to give it to me. He only gave me the sale price because I told him I was going to return $600 of tile (it was a tile cutter I had been waiting on). Recently, I tried doing a review on a product (the billy club tire iron). I read the reviews before purchasing it and the reviews were outstanding - 4.5 stars. But I didn't like it. It was cumbersome and awkward to use. I put this information in the review on The Home Depot webpage. My review got rejected - no wonder their product had such stellar reviews!! They reject the lower star reviews. That's shady business. read more

There is a choice of Home Depot, Menards, and Lowes all in a 3-mile radius. I always choose Home Depot. It's a friendly, widely-stocked, and clean store. There are some very knowledgeable employees that have worked in the trades. The other stores are unwelcoming, don't hire experienced staff, and are usually more expensive than HD. I had a great experience with customer service at the Orland HD. Eboni was a very courteous and thoughtful representative, and she went out of her way to help me fix a mistake I made with a purchase. Kudos to whoever hired her. The only thing I don't like about HD is their clearance aisle. Sometimes I walk by just to see if they have anything interesting. Most of the time, the items that catch my eye are $1.00 off the regular price. A little misleading, but the clearance items are not why I shop at HD. read more

I placed an online order for a tool box and selected scheduled delivery as I have several times in the past from HD. A representative from HD Orland Park called and left a message for me to call him back to confirm the delivery. I called him back (answers the phone "Hello?" No indication I reached HD) and he advised me that the delivery would be made tomorrow. However I was told that the delivery driver would call me tomorrow before the delivery was to be made (between 6a and 10p) to again confirm the delivery and if I was unavailable to take the call the delivery may not be made. I tried to explain that I may not be able to answer as I would be at work for part of the day, and that I had received scheduled deliveries and just regular deliveries from HD that were far larger and valuable that did not require a signature and were just left on the front porch. The previous deliveries had never had to be confirmed by phone, and certainly not twice. This order was placed online, clearly requests you press the confirm order button, and clearly stated no signature required, outside delivery with the delivery date. The rep informed me that this was a new policy for this store as of Feb. 3rd put in place by the store manager. I then called the store back to speak with the store manager, Jodi, who, lo and behold answers the phone, "Hello?", no indication who I reached and that this was HD I was calling. I had to ask if this was HD that I had reached. I proceeded to explain to him again the the problem and while I was in mid-sentence he began to talk over me repeatedly not allowing me to finish. I was stunned at his rudeness and unprofessionalism. He was actually mumbling and rambling, and from what words I could actually understand his explanation made no sense. He actually even called our conversation stupid. Even for HD, this is an appalling case of lousy customer service, by the store manager, no less. read more

Horrible customer service by HD. Don't buy any appliances here since you have 48 hr window to return which is not told. I didn't even open the item. Every other big box will allow you to use them for couple of weeks and you can call them and still return them. And it's been a fight. I've owned multiple business and making customers happy is # and the cost of loss is minimal to what they will loose as a customer who has spend tens of thousands of dollars. Good morning all! Just wanted you to know about the experience me and my mother had at Home Depot in Orland on Harlem this morning. After shopping with my Mother we proceeded to the self checkout. We greeted the attendant and started to check out, (she had already racial profiled us) as she started to walk closer and closer as we checked out which made me feel very uncomfortable. We had two separate orders. I checked out and started bagging up my purchased items while the attend came NOT SOCIAL DISTANCING grab the gun leaning over me and touching me and started to scan my mothers items. Is this how Home depot trains they're staff, she must think we are not going to pay for all of our items. I politely told her that we didnt need her assistance but I was already insulted by the fact that she behaved this way because we are African American. I am deeply hurt and disappointed and I had to share, to be treated this way with all that is happening in the world is upsetting, I did speak with the manager but that was not enough because I am home and still in disbelief, hurt and disappointed in the way my senior mother and I were treated. read more

Worst shopping experience ever. They were out of half the screws and hardware I needed for my project. The wood guy was super nice but everyone else trying to help me was clueless. Also didn't have any 1x6x8 boards. I wasn't happy about not getting half of what I needed and the guy checking me out was obnoxious and didn't treat me great. I hope I never have to go back here but unfortunate I probably will. This is a standard Home Depot with all the same items we expect from a hardware store. They do have some nice seasonal items and did recently do some changes to the parking lot. Unfortunately they have a lot of competition in the area from some big names like Mendards, Lowes, and Ace. I cannot find items that make this location better or worse than other Home Depot stores. Stop in for some home improvement items or stop by a local mom and pop hardware store. I prefer to stop by a local Ace or small town store. I cannot think of a more horrible experience that I could have had with the purchasing, receiving, installing, and quality of the Samsung appliances that I purchased at this store. We purchased these items in November of 2021 and they were scheduled to be delivered the week after Christmas. The week they came out, they could not install two of the items because of the mild difficulties in installing the microwave and the dishwasher. They had to get their "other" department to come out to install them. It is if they were looking for a reason not to install the products. My gf was able to remove (with a screw driver) the item that they did not want to remove for fear of damage to our cabinets. They proceeded to install the microwave incorrectly as we noticed that evening that it was wobbling. Later when the "second crew" came to install the dishwasher, we had them address the microwave issue. They told us that it was installed incorrectly and that they would have to order more parts because they did not use both of the long (essential for installing) screws. Also, by that time, the fridge had started leaking for which we had to have someone else come out to address this issue and setup an appointment for another crew to come fix the microwave. The service technician came out twice to fix the fridge because they could not get it to stop leaking. They eventually said they would have to replace the door and then later told us they would give us a credit for the fridge on what we paid for it. The problem is that since we purchased this as a 4-piece set, the credit would not allow us to purchase a comparable refrigerator to what we bought originally because we received discounts per item because it was a set. We decided to wait until "April" for the backordered fridge. We are into February at this point with a broken fridge and a wobbling microwave. Eventually they did address the microwave that month. In May I had to call them again because we were never contacted about the backordered fridge. In June they showed up with a fridge but I did not accept it because it was severely damaged! Again, they wanted to issue credit but I told them I wanted the same fridge (because of the discount) or I offered to pay the difference for the next better model. In the end of June we finally received our new fridge, almost nine months later. Then a few weeks after the warrantee expired we started having issues with the stove/range. It literally started smoking and displaying error code messages, luckily while we were at home and I unplugged it/disconnected gas, and immediately contacted Samsung for which they told us that the warrantee expired just a few weeks prior. Now I am setting up and paying for yet another technician to come out to fix the issue. Home Depot was little to no help during most of this and kept passing the issue onto Samsung even though it was their installers that botched the installation or tried to deliver damaged products. I spent countless hours (50+) on the phone with both Samsung and Home Depot, as well as took tens of hours (Also more than 50) off work to have installers and service technicians come to the house to fix what should have been a one-day installation! I will not be using this Home Depot or Samsung products in the future. read more

I will never buy another product from this store ever again. I purchased a Toro Smart Stow Guaranteed to start lawnmower from them. I used it only twice and of course it doesn't start. I was told by the Manager at the Customer service desk because it was over 30 days since my purchase I would have to pay a diagnoses fee and I could not return the product they sold me as well. I am not sure if Home Depot outsources delivery of appliances but it is always a hassle to get a hold of them to make corrections on an order. I have been calling for a whole day before my order and you get the run around so much it's tiring. Lowe's or smaller stores just seem more together and precise. Home Depot is just on auto pilot and when one thing needs changing, nothing can be done. I use to think Home Depot was much easier but not so sure. So Lariat Delivery arrives with the washer/dryer and customer service was just bad from the start. So, after carelessly tumbling my washer down the stairs and giggling the whole time, I get a call down stairs to tell me the wrong plug was ordered for my dryer. I ask him to take it off and he looks at me and the other person and said the tools are in his truck. At this point I wanted these kids out of my house. I said ok and sent them on their way. I said don't worry about it so they can leave. I have to go to the store, get tools, take the plug off, exchange it out and then my dryer will work.
