I go to this location once a week . I like to park by the garden center entrance/ exit . It's easier then using the service road because the 7 brew construction has people driving outside of their lane . I enter around 4 P.M. . The cashier was closing and locking the checkout lane when I went to pay . Fine . I walked back over to the main entrance cashier . It took for ever . I walked back to the garden center entrance/ exit , it was locked . I can see my car 10 yards from the curb . Then I had to traverse the store with my paid items to a door no where near my parked car . It is 26 degrees today , I don't want to walk 100 yards in the cold to get to my car . read more

Bought Gas Dryer Aug 2025. Had 5 dryers in the store. Paid and arranged for delivery and paid for delivery service to hook up dryer (am disabled senior lady). Delivery scheduled for 1-month (had to wait because of having delivery hook up dryer). OK, so Menards kept "pushing" delivery date later & later. Called Menards, spoke to various Managers (abrupt, don't care), referred me to Maytag. Maytag told me they were "making" my dryer and that is why delivery is taking so long. I said WHY-WHEN THERE WERE 5 GAS DRYERS IN STORE? Called store again, spoke to several managers. Finally spoke to Aubrey, cancelled order and re-wrote it so I would get the dryer direct from Menards store in Tinley and no hook-up (I got my own guy to do that). Aubrey made up a completely new sale and charged my credit card (twice, so I had another problem getting first charge off of there!). Got the dryer delivered, paid for them to remove old dryer, had my own guy hook up - and NOW - 6 MONTHS LATER - GAS DRYER NOT WORKING PROPERLY! Have to fight with Maytag corporation (Aubrey stated 10 year warranty - BS). Never buy appliance again at Menards. All they care about is selling - no customer service or care about delivering after the item is paid for. read more

Good morning Menards. Today (05/18/2024) at the Tinley Park, Illinois store, was the 2nd time I have felt prejudiced against with a cashier/Front End employee. Before running to my local Chicago, IL location, I checked online on which store had larger wire shelving units. Tinley Park had three. So I was going to return the three I purchased in Broadview, IL since they were less shelves for the larger units in stock at Tinley. Note: These were not opened. Got to the store, proceeded to Customer Service and presented my receipt. Guadalupe asked "was there anything wrong with them?". I promptly told her "the shelving won't fit where I need them to go". I then showed her that one of the boxes had a gouge and was there when I picked up the three from Broadview. She scans each package, goes to the terminal and says "you'll be getting $263.97 back to your Discover." Told her "cool". Guadalupe then says "Wait" and walks over to the 3 boxes with a pair of scissors. She's now opening up each box. Asked if she needed help - she says "I got it". Then I reiterated "they were not open". Another minute or two of her stuggling with the scissors to check the boxes. She now proceeds to ask another Front End Customer Service person (middle aged, blonde/grayish hair) to come over and now that person asks me the same question "was there anything wrong with them?" And I reply, just like I told her, they don't fit and I haven't opened them. She quickly retorts, "Now I'm asking". She enters something on the register and walks towards the 3 boxes. I asked her which direction is Garden. She doesnt turn around and basically says "That way" with her body. In the past 26 years that I have patronizing Menards in Illinois, Indiana and Wisconsin, this is second time I have felt like I was doing something wrong. In the sense that I can be at any other Menards in the Midwest and have NEVER been spoken back to like that. I have NEVER had Customer Service tear open a package - that was sealed by the Manufacturer - in front of me. I did speak with Jeff the General Manager before leaving with another large purchase (over $700 in storage bins to help us contain items we lost due to our basement flooding). This is exaclty what I needed this morning. To be harrassed by Customer Service. Going back to the Front End Customer Service employee (middle aged, blond/grey hair) Back in 2008 Black Friday (which was the LAST time I visited the Tinley Park location I picked up 2 Lincoln Logs tins, Disney Ball Bouncers and a Black and Decker screwdriver. All of the items were doorbusters/limited time before 12 noon I believe. Once in line - this same woman from Customer Service 2024 would not ring me out in 2008 since I had two Lincoln Log tins. She said they were limit 1. The funny thing was that the patron in front of me had four tins. I told her to get the manager and she just stands there. My friend was with me and he basically said "I'll purchase it to stop your tantrum:" I wlll not visit the Tinley Park, Illinois location in the future. The odds of getting the same bigoted cashier 16 years later is uncanny yet sad on the appearance of the store. My earliest memory of Menards is of an old boss of mine complaining about them. So, I avoided shopping here for the next 20+ years of my life. But I needed lumber for a small home project and Lowe's and Home Depot aren't really enjoyable for me either. Truth be told, I hate most large home stores and prefer neighborhood hardware stores like Ace. But with no Ace or lumberyards close by, I'm stuck with these places. This Menards is actually pretty nice. Its huge size isn't a detriment, because I can usually find what I need here more easily than at Lowe's for some reason. The people who have helped me out have been really nice too. This Menards sells furniture, seasonal stuff, even packaged food items. Their service departments, like cabinetry for example, are much easier to find than at Lowe's. My favorite thing about this store is they have a discount lumber section with odds, ends, stuff with big knots, stuff that was cut or milled a little wrong, etc. It's priced starting at like 99 cents a board and if you're just building something like a workbench you don't need perfect lumber. They had a pretty nice sale recently and I got a bunch of carpentry tools at a good price. The store is clean and well organized. I'll keep coming back. read more

I wanted to write a review about the Menards on 159th Street in Tinley Park. I am the President of the Ladies Auxiliary for the American Legion. We are having an auction, and I needed the long paint sticks to make our paddles. The two people in the paint department said sorry they can't give those paint sticks out because Menards pays for them. I said it's for the American Legion Vets. She said no they couldn't do it. How sad is that!?!?! I also want to give a shout out to Home Depot on 159th and Ace Hardware on Oak Park Avenue in Tinley Park. They gladly donated between 30 - 50 each! In the future I will be going to Home Depot or Ace for my needs. I will also advise all my friends and family about this. Menards can't spare any paint sticks to the Veterans, who fought for the very freedom the Menards employees enjoy. read more

I was absolutely astounded at the condition of the slow blower I purchased. I purchased a NEW snow blower online and received a clearly USED snowblower. There was no packaging o packing plastic, styrofoam nothing but the machine inside the box and there was a part missing. I returned the item to the store. The cashier at the customer service desk did not want to process my return instead she suggested I exchange the item at another store that had it in stock. Seriously? I got it from that store, it was going back to that store. I communicated my experience via the website and received an acknowledgment. I then received a response from the assistant store manager who stated that Menards does not sell used items. Well, clearly I received a used item, please see pictures. What angers me further is the response received from the General Manager. He was very dismissive. I was not offered any kind of recompense for my experience. The GM expressed zero interest in my customer experience. My photo is on my Gmail account. I feel like I was treated in such a way because I am a Black Woman. read more

Not that this place needs any more bad reviews but I'll add my two cents. Most employees were nice, place was well maintained and clean. The MAIN reason for my review is my anger at some angry, woman forklift driver repeatedly honking at my two year old and I for not moving out of her way trying to find the bathroom fast enough, knowing that the forklifts and the bathrooms are in the same area so she should have some more patience. I'm sure customer service is difficult nowadays but the honking is unnecessary, you don't need to be operating heavy machinery with that anger. My kid was scared and it's not my fault she hates her job. read more

Menards' home delivery process is horrible, even when you pay extra. First, to buy a product and have it delivered, you first fill out the order information in the home department. You then go to the store front to pay for the item, then you walk to the back of the store to arrange delivery. Then you go back to the front of the store to pay for the delivery separate. When they deliver the item, they work hard to do as little as possible to help the customer. For $100, they drop it off far from the actual home entrance, even when you're there and ask to at least place the delivery as close as possible to the front porch. Not on the porch, just closer than the street. Despite having a clear path, the driver will not take an extra 40 seconds to move the pallet twenty more feet. It's no wonder that Amazon, with free delivery and excellent customer experience is quickly becoming the only preferred way to buy anything. read more

Honestly have a love hate relationship with menards in general. I love the fact they have there 11% rebate sales. I hate the fact you can't find a nut for a bolt to save your life. I never seen such organization in my life. There are somethings that menards does well. Nut and bolt selection and organization is not one of them. read more

I stumbled upon this in Menard's when I was in the area on a particular day. I did not really plan to go into this place, but I figured that it wouldn't hurt if I went inside, and so I did. I can say that it is so busy. I went here and it was already afternoon, probably around 12 pm, and the whole place was packed with a lot of people. The place is pretty big and spacious. There is so much stuff, but everything is well organized and has a nice layout. I just wanted to look for anything and I do not really have a particular item in mind aside from garden tools and supplies. I was in the middle of looking around when I saw this stainless steel tabletop gas grill, which is interesting. I still do not have that kind of gas grill, which is why I stopped for a while to check it out. It was really nice. The price is pretty nice too. I then went to the garden, some sort of section, and I checked to see if the seeds I wanted were available, but unfortunately, they were not. They have a nice selection of other plants and even flowers. I also found some lovely statues that come in different sizes, and the smaller ones are really nice. However, the price was kind of expensive. Overall, I believe it is a good location. There is a lot of interesting content that appears to be of high quality. They also carry nice brands for their items. Some are expensive, some are reasonable, and they also have sales on selected products. read more

I am shocked / If you are overcharged they (Stephanie and Tom are managers on duty today) They will offer a refund happily ( like who needs your business?) but they absolutely will not adjust the price. Case in point: Sign says "25 per cent off all shrubs and bushes " I bought 2 shrubs day 21$ each - marked price which they tell me is already 50 per cent off - good! But if the sign says 25 per cent off our lowest price then shouldn't you get 25 per cent off their lowest price? Answer in this store is NO I asked them to take down the sign, I'm not sure if they did. The manager, Stephanie, asked me if I was done yet and if I would mind giving her more personal space. If you look at the reviews you can see that Menard's has been dropping in favoritism lately...now I know why. Went there the other day and was really put off by two things - the service people on the floor and the size of the operation. There seemed to be enough service people on the floor, but they all seemed too busy doing something to bother with customers. While walking around looking for gutter tubing I passed a number of peeps and they always smiled but never asked if they could help. Since I used to be in retail, I thought I'd have a bit of fun and see how long it took for just one person to ask. I walked all around and it was the last person I passed as I left the building that actually asked. He looked like he had been working hard but he took the time to ask, and when he told me what I wanted was all the way at the other end, I lost interest. As to size and if it matters...boy they got it. The store always was a big box layout but they recently took over the old two-story Southtown Newspaper building to the west. The store now has maybe 300,000 feet of floor space and outside storage, and enough room to properly display all their wares. The building is clean, has wide aisles, and nice lighting. The one thing they are missing is either a floor plan at the door when you come in or a service person there to greet you and send you in the right direction. Absent these, it is just a cardio workout walking around the store. While Home Depot and Lowes aren't miles ahead of Menard's, they do have more approachable layouts and people. Menard's could fix their problems easy...but they need more peeps and better training, not just more room. read more

One of your lovely employees decided to try and run through a stop sign that is in your parking lot. Lucky he saw me in time to stop, but it was a really close call.... But... Here is the best part... HE GETS MAD AT ME!! Instead of going straight like he was going to; he decides to turn and ride my ass the rest of the way. I get to my intersection and stop because I see a car coming my way, and he decides to lay on his horn. He was a middle aged white bald guy wearing sun glasses driving one of your pick up trucks. Honestly, if he would have hit me I would not only sue him, but your company as well. You always represent the people/company you work for. Nowadays most store label their aisles making it 10x easier to find what you're looking for. Unfortunately, at Menards, this is not the case. Looking for simple items will leaving you walking laps and around the store and half the employees do not know either due to nothing being labeled. I went to the store today and I had the worst treatment ever. I decided to stop at this location doing a ride out to Orland mall which was a big mistake. At the cash register I received horrible horrible customer service from a young lady name ALYCE. After purchasing my items from this cashier I was throwing my receipt on the conveyor belt when I asked where my receipt was she said right there pick it up I asked her why would she not give it to me my receipt and she proceeded to just ignore me so at that point I did a refund of all the items that I purchased I talk with the general manager who was there on file and he seem to not really care he just OK OK I brushed it off I will never shop at the store again it was the most horrible experience and Alice needs to learn a lot of customer service read more

This is a large Menards with everything including the Kitchen Sink! Of course they are into the groceries and home goods store items that all the other large chain stores are moving towards. We have picked up various items that seem to be cheaper versus Home Depot or Lowes. It takes a while to get thru the store with the square footage and volume of items in the area. The service is usually good at this location and the selection of items is large. Lots of parking space and close to our area. The reason for a 3 star review is the size and agitation around every store in the universe now selling food. read more

I had gone into your Tinley Park location after ordering mulch on line to get my 25 bags of Brown Mulch. I had gone to the garden area in the back to pick it up. I waited for someone that was before me to load what they needed. I had a car pull behind me and was waiting like I was. I'm sure he was going to do the same thing. After it was safe I backed the truck up. I was looking for my product and a guy named Joe came up and he asked me what I was looking for. I told him and he showed me mulch. I started to get the back of the truck open when he jumped on his fork lift and told me to stand back. I thought he was going to move it closer. Instead he drove away with it. I asked him where he was going. He said I will be with you in a minute. And kept going to the car that was behind me. I said I was here before him. He just keep going I repeated I was their first. He didn't apologize just kept going. I drove out and told him I'm going to report him. And he didn't care. I asked his name and he said his name was Joe. I had gone back to door 25 and complained to them. I wanted to speak to the manager. They said she was up front. I then drove around and asked for the same manager. She was now in the back. I got my refund and left. I do not appreciate the service I received and I will not be back. The price of the mulch was not worth the aggravation I had to go through. I'm not sure why the reviews here are so bad, I freakin' adore this Menards. They expanded so now it is actually the size of a small city, and I've seen employees ride various rotating motored vehicles to get around the store, haha! They even have a pet section and food, as well as the usual house, roof, siding, indoor, outdoor, and garden areas! I came here during their Labor Day sale and was able to score some prices that felt like steals, including the 11% storewide rebate offered on everything- icing on the cake. Menards made it so easy to furnish our new home without breaking the bank- I was able to get stuff like a 5' x 8' oriental hand tufted 100% wool rug for $60, storage crates and bins, solar paneled light stakes/sconces for under $2 each that are actually of decent quality, and more! We have also gotten large equipment here like various outdoor shed storage boxes and 6' long folding collapsible tables--- perfect for our housewarming party! I try to stop by at least once a week to catch the deals. I loved getting potted mums from here too! Their plants are hearty and well taken care of within the store, making the transition to our garden an easy one. Definitely try to take advantage of the fact that their employees are here to help- I have always had upbeat and friendly customer service, plus it shaves off so much time when you can just ask them where something is instead of shuffling around like a lost kid-- not speaking from experience, of course ;) read more

I need to use those electric carts whenever I go to the "big box" stores. I have been nicely accommodated at Jewel food stores, Wal-Mart, Floor and Decor, Costco, and Home Depot. But the Menards in Tinley Park NEVER has a cart available. They say they only have two carts available. I have waited and waited for one, then finally gave up and went across the street to Home Depot. I have tried several more times, due to specific sale items I was interested in, but have STILL not ever been able to access a cart at this Menards. This store is huge. They just did an expansion and it is over 300,000 sq feet plus the lumber yard. It is layed out well and does not look stuffed or crowded. You can get anything from hardware, building needs, home repair, food and appliances. The big thing that really grabbed my attention was the prices. They seemed high. Menards was always a better bargain but I did not see that this time. read more
