For a great dinner option when heading to the Sphere for an event, head over to Grimaldi's Pizzeria located on the 2nd floor inside The Palazzo (part of the Grand Canal Shoppes) for great traditional, coal-fired brick-oven pizzas. Tables were spaced out nicely and can easily accommodate large groups, although if you have one, try to let the restaurant know ahead of time as a courtesy. Came here with my husband after a super long day at the LVL UP expo w/ our son. We just wanted some booze and pizza and this was the right spot! We sat at the bar and our bartender greeted us after a few mins. We ordered some drinks and their charcuterie board and a 16-in pizza (the Don - which was meatballs, pepperoni, and sausage). Everything was really good. The charcuterie board was beautifully presented and a great start to dinner. As for the pizza, I've had both good and bad pizza in NY and I thought this was up there with the good, for sure. The crust was nice and thin but not too floppy, although the generous amount of toppings makes it hard not to flop slightly. Service was good. Our bartender wasn't much of a talker but we were okay with that. There were plenty of conversations going around, around us at the bar to keep the ambiance buzzing. Always great for us at Grimaldi's pizza. Here in Vegas for the holidays and happy that the Palazzo location was open. Since they closed the El Segundo location in California, we only get to have it when we are in LV. Haven't really had a bad experience at this location. Service, pizza's, salads and desserts were on point. Our favorite pizza is the white pizza, but we have to have both white and red. I arrived late into Las Vegas and wanted a quick place to pick up food after checking into the Palazzo. I ordered through their website while in the cab so that I could pick it up right before they closed. I ordered a 12" Don, crispy. I took a little while checking in, so I picked up the pizza a little late. They even offered some paper plates when I picked it up. Overall the pizza was pretty good for sitting a little and still had a little bit of a crunch on the bottom. They are located on the second floor and the closest escalator is next to the Sands Ave Bridge entrance. The salad was a large portion; way bigger than I expected. Service was good. The guy was very attentive with refills and checking in on us. It's did take them awhile to take our order though. BEST FOOD SPOT OF MY DAY!! We just arrived from SD and had a busy productive day shopping. We were starving and we found this gem. The ambiance was relaxing, plenty of seating inside and outside. Quiet, definitely what we were looking for after a long day. We ordered the arugula lemon salad with the Aloha NY pizza. It was so delicious! The crust is thin and crispy. Coming from Illinois, I've had a lot of great pizzas of different styles. I didn't have high expectations when trying pizza on the strip. I've watched some YouTube and TikTok videos that said I'll have to go off the strip to find some great pizza joints. This one was convenient because they close late. They have a huge dining room so finding a table is not a problem. I ordered the prosciutto arugula pizza for 12". All of the toppings were fine. The crust was too chewy for me. I prefer pizza crusts that are crispy and little chew. Price was okay since it's on the strip. Our server was attentive and friendly. It didn't take too long to receive our pizza. What can you say about Grimaldi's other than it is some fantastic old school pie. I have been here several time now and I have left a very happy eater. I have tried a few of their pies but my favorite is their white pie with sausage and mushrooms. Oh my goodness this is a pie to die for. We enjoyed the Wizard of Oz sphere show and Grimaldis was perfect to complete the evening. It wasn't too crowded and they have half price wine on Tuesdays. Alyssa took excellent care of us and offered different food options. We split the Caesar salad and got the DOM pizza. The salad was perfectly dressed and plenty for both of us. The Dom pizza was had a light and flaky crust, you could tell straight out of the oven, and the toppings were fresh and delicious with lots of meatballs and pepperoni. This location has a lot of seating and even a "patio" area even though it's indoors :) House salad and margherita pizza hit the spot. Our waiter was so friendly - Michael R! Despite what other reviewers say, as a New Yorker, I can say that this pizza is actually pretty good. Yes, the tomato sauce on the pizza is a little bit watery, but it has great flavor, and the cheese holds it together. I came here multiple times in one week because I enjoyed the quality for the price. I think my favorite pizza is just the traditional with mozzarella and tomato sauce. It's got a nice, crispy crust, and it folds exactly like a New York slice should. The only reason that I'm giving it three stars is because service is not good. My friends and I all ordered individual pizzas, however, the consistency on when they come out is really bad. The first pizza came out, then the second one came out 10 minutes later, and then the third pizza came out another 20 minutes after. It doesn't really make sense for us to each order individual pizzas but having them come out at different times over a 30 minute period. Obviously each person ate their pizza as it came out so that I wouldn't get cold. The restaurant was also not busy at all. Maybe seven or eight people in total at the time we were eating. I definitely recommend the spot if you're looking for a good New York style pizza, but if you come in a large group, expect to not receive your food anywhere close to the same time. read more

The food and dining experience here was amazing. I ordered the garden house salad, margarita pizza, and bruschetta trio. To start, the garden house salad was a great way to start the meal since it was light and flavorful. The best item however was definitely the margarita pizza. It was extremely tasty and is easily the best pizza Ive had in a while with the perfect crust and ratio of sauce to cheese. In my opinion, the Bruschetta Trio was okay. It comes with three different types of bruschetta, and my family and I each had a different favorite. Even though it wasn't my favorite appetizer, I think whether you enjoy it mostly comes down to personal preference. The service was also excellent, it was surprisingly quick despite the crowd and the waiters frequently checked in to make sure everything was okay. The restaurant was also very clean and the classy decorations added to the mood. Overall, the experience was amazing. My party and I made a reservation weeks in advance, but when we arrived, the hostess told us they had no record of it. I explained that we had call logs showing the reservation was made, but they responded that they didn't know who we spoke to. Clearly, their reservation system needs improvement. The hostess, Shane, told us they typically only take reservations for parties of eight or more and that whoever accepted ours should not have done so. At first, Shane said there was nothing they could do, but after we asked to speak with the manager, we were finally seated--outside on the patio, despite many open tables inside. This was extremely disappointing, especially since we had planned this dinner weeks ahead and had already paid $30 for parking. The lack of communication and unwillingness to provide a solution was baffling. I would not recommend this restaurant for larger groups. My 1/5 rating is based solely on the poor service and Shane's unprofessional attitude, not the food. As for the food, their pizza is quite good--perfect for thin-crust lovers. We ordered the house salad, Caesar salad, Margherita pizza, meat lovers pizza, and BBQ chicken pizza. The Margherita pizza was the unanimous favorite. Unfortunately, the way the situation was handled overshadowed the meal. I would not return here due to the poor service and disrespectful treatment we received. read more

We have wanted to eat at Grimaldi's for a while so stopped in for lunch while we were at The Venetian. They allegedly have "the best pizza" in Las Vegas, so we had to try it! Upon walking up, we were greeted by the hostess. She was nice and took us to a table. The restaurant has a cozy feeling, feels like a New York pizzeria or something. Dark backs cover the walls, there are neat light fixtures made from bottles, and tables have the classic red and white checkered table cloths. Pretty nice place! Almost as soon as we were seated, we met our server and that's where the experience went downhill. We were greeted by Damon, who asked if we had been here before. We said no, it was our first time. He grabbed a menu and introduced us a bit to the place. This was fine, and I asked what pizza he recommends. He started hyping up "The Don", the meat lovers type pizza, and suggested ordering a salad. He said the salads are large enough to feed 2 people, and we could pair it with a 16" pizza for a nice meal. He also showed us the beer and wine menu, but we weren't ordering alcohol. We both ordered water and said we needed a moment to decide on our food order. He whisked away and almost seemed upset that we weren't ready to order immediately. When he returned, he quickly placed the water glasses on the table and tossed down a couple straws. We decided to order a 12" Margherita, after seeing pictures on Yelp showing this would absolutely be enough food for both of us and we didn't want to have leftovers to carry around. Oddly, Damon seemed almost personally offended that we ordered a 12" pizza, and asked "are you sure you don't want a salad?" And we confirmed again that no, we were only ordering the pizza. His reaction was kind of an annoyed "alright' and he scooped up the menus and left. While we waited for our pizza, we heard him giving the same spiel to the table behind us. He was aggressively trying to upsell like he's paid a commission on pizza and salad or something. He convinced someone else at another table to order a salad, and we saw him checking on his other tables around us. Soon we received our pizza from another staff member from the kitchen. The pizza looked and smelled delicious! After letting it cool for a couple minutes we dug in. It *was* delicious. Definitely lives up to the hype! Meanwhile, as we ate, Damon never once checked in on us. He didn't come back until we were finished eating and we asked for the check. It was an electronic handheld device to pay, so we did that and he told us "just sign here and I'll take care of the rest" but I'm not sure what "the rest" was. I did make sure to ask for a copy of the receipt so we could get his name and make sure he wasn't messing with a tip amount or anything. After the pushy and frankly rude service we received and never being checked on, we opted out of leaving a tip. The food was great. The restaurant is cozy and nice. But the service we experienced docked a star off an otherwise 5 star review and has us questioning if we even want to return and face the same experience. If Damon is there, I don't want to be. I have no issues with a server recommending a food item, but the way it was pushed continuously and then the attitude we received after opting for something else was unusual and not cool. read more

We got seated immediately and ordered soon after. We ordered the Traditional 12" Pizza with Extra Basil ($18 + $2), as well as the 12" Calzone with Pepperoni ($20 + $4), plus a beer. Our pizza came out relatively quickly, and it was delicious! We figured our calzone would not be too far behind, so we just enjoyed the pizza. Our waiter did not check up on us one time, not even to fill our empty water cups or ask how it was tasting. Honestly I didn't see him much other than when he filled up waters for the table right next to us, but didn't come see us! When he asked if we wanted the check (the first time he came up to us since taking our order), we informed him that we never received the calzone we ordered and to just not worry about it if it wasn't made yet. He said he put in the order and apologized, saying we could get it to-go for free, which was nice. After checking in the back, he came back out and said he didn't know what happened, but the ticket must have gotten lost and they never made our calzone, so he took the calzone (obviously) and beer off of our bill.
