The ability to customize the toppings was a win but they vary in price so be aware of that. We added black olives. They have various spices and such you can add. The salt at the table has a great texture to it. They also have garlic powder, fresh ground pepper, oregano, herbed sprinkle cheese and chili pepper flakes. Such a great experience overall. The salads were well dressed and flavorful. The Caesar salad dressing was fresh and vibrant. The Mediterranean was crisp and light. Both had a good amount of fresh lettuce and cheese. My husband and I had a hard time choosing which we liked better. We each also had a cheesecake. I had the Oreo flavor and my husband had the seasonal caramel apple. I guess I didn't care for the sauce. I got the white sauce with chicken mushroom and garlic, I could barely taste the garlic. I got the Caesar salad but it definitely did not have Caesar dressing, I'm not sure what dressing it was but the salad was good just not the dressing I was expecting. As a native New Yorker I am always in search of a good NY pizza. We went in on a Friday evening and joined the waitlist. The wait was only about 30 minutes for 4 of us. The staff was awesome and during the meal we were checked on by several different staff members. We got the Bruschetta Trio appetizer and it was very good. We ordered 3 pies one pepperoni 16", one 12" Margherita and one 12" with several toppings. The people who got the 12" pies took about half of them home and my wife and I split the 16" and had leftovers. The pizza was good however, the sauce was not too sweet and the the crust was excellent. This is a brick oven pizza not a pie from a pizza oven so it's much like any other brick oven pizza. Some people complain about the prices. Yes once you start piling on the toppings it adds up fast. You have to remember this isn't that fast food type pizza with extra sweet sauce and 5 topping to disguise their terrible crust and sauce. You get what you pay for. Grimaldi's welcomes patrons with a wonderful atmosphere and class decor. We were quickly seated by a very friendly maitre d'. I opted for the Mediterranean Salad while my son went with the Ricotta Cheese pizza. The food was ok. Neither of us were big fans of thin crust, but it wasn't bad. We found ourselves lamenting not going with one of the other pizzas from the large menu. Service was....mediocre. The restaurant was not crowded, so there really was no excuse. When our server did attend to us, there was no emotional connection or friendly demeanor. She made it hard for me to want to tip her at all, but I did anyway. Didn't ask for our membership so we'd get credit for our purchase.m in their rewards program. We like the flavor of the pizza but, neither of us like the fact their product is inconsistent or that it takes so long to get the pizza to the table. If they can get their act together they'll be fine. As for us I think we'll give it a rest for several months before trying them again. I'll be up front and say I was a little disappointed. I'm posting this a couple weeks late but I wasn't impressed with my experience. I think back to the time I was in NY at the original establishment and Wichita just didn't meet the mark for me. I came here with a group of friends and sad to say no one was impressed. The appetizer was pretty good. If you sign up at the table for their rewards program they offer a choice of an appetizer or a full size salad for free prior to ordering your main course. I got the bruschetta. It was good. I would order it again. However the pizza, the most important part I would say was the most disappointing part of the experience. I got the prosciutto & arugula pizza. It was $24 for a 12" I believe. Now, in my experience this type of pizza is that it's supposed to be light and fresh and delicate. This particular pizza the prosciutto was dry and it had an ungodly amount of seasoning on it. It was so overwhelming it was hard to eat. It was pretty to look at but way too much seasoning. My friend got a simple classic pepperoni and cheese. The pepperoni pieces were maybe the size of a quarter. And the rest of the pizza was drenched with red sauce. It was hard to even tell it was a pepperoni pizza. I didn't get a photo unfortunately. But she didn't even take her leftovers home. The decor was lovely and very nostalgic in that classic feel of the east coast / NY feel restaurant. It has the appeal or vibe for a great date night spot or a night out with a couple friends. The service was great. Brandi was our server. She was very attentive and helpful. The manager came by once and checked in. Also very friendly. The menu overall seemed a little on the high side, particularly the pizza. In my opinion the quality did not meet my expectation or match up to the price. I personally would not go out of my way to recommend this place to anyone. And since I no longer live in Wichita I won't go out of my way to come back if I'm in town again. read more

The two starters we ordered, a caprese and Mediterranean salad, were disappointing in flavor and quality of the vegetables. It's the Midwest in February, so that's understandable. We were looking for a place to have my son and his fiancé rehearsal dinner so I ran into Grimaldi's to check out their back room for group dining. Looks like it would work perfect for our group of 40 to 50 people reserve it. We had Amber and Rebekah for servers and they were outstanding! the food was set up and they kept it stocked and kept the refreshments coming out before we even asked! They did an incredible job! Food was also wonderful! We had the four cheese pizza, the Dawn, the Brooklyn bridge and the hot honey. My wife and I went there for our first time for lunch. Although the service was excellent and the place very clean, the menu is a bit confusing. We each had one slice of pizza for $4.00 each plus .75 cents for each added topping. So three toppings added another 2.25 to the one slice of pizza. So for $6.25 per slice, you get a so so pizza. The pizza crust was paper thin and the toppings were sparse. My wife also ordered the brushetta trio for $12.00 and a soft drink gor $3.50 So for total of $30.00 with tax it was a pretty pricey lunch for no more than we got. Won't be coming back to this place. Wichita has a new restaurant at the Waterfront!!! I've had Grimaldi's in Kansas City, Las Vegas and now Wichita. If you visit the restaurant on a busy night, you will be placed on a mobile waitlist. You'll be advised to return before a specific time. After we were seated, we were greeted and informed about the app's starter deal and reward program. We decided on our favorite, The Don with purple onions. It was cooked to perfection. The crust was crispy, toppings were plentiful and appropriately spaced apart. This was the best pizza I've had from locations visited. The restaurant is not as big as other locations. The size can make it a bit loud on a busy night. This is easily overlooked with the quality of pizza coming out of the oven!! read more

We arrived around 5 PM and were visited by three different weight staff before ordering. When we received our order, the pizza came lukewarm which is surprising For a restaurant that claims a fire charged oven. Following the arrival of our pizza, the waitress brought out the Caesar salad. My first thought was to send it back but we enjoyed the salad during our first visit so we kept it. It is apparent that they are going through growing pains, and perhaps the visiting staff were dismissed far too early. read more

We were in town for the weekend and were pleasantly surprised to see that Grimaldi's now had a location in Wichita. Although it's been a few years, I had previously visited locations in Denver and Vegas, both wonderful experiences, and we were looking forward to visiting the Wichita location to see if it also lived up to our expectations. I am happy to report that it met and exceeded our expectations in all aspects. We ordered a Garden Ranch Salad, The Don, and I had an Old Fashioned. The salad was freshly tossed and the ranch was distributed evenly across all the ingredients. The onions, cucumbers and tomatoes all blended well and they didn't overpower the other ingredients, which doesn't happen often especially when you add onion to the mix. 8.5/10 The Don was just was delicious as I remember. The crust was baked perfectly, the sauce tasted fresh, and the pepperoni, sausage and meatballs all were phenomenal. My future bride can be a stickler when it comes to cheese, but she was impressed by the fresh mozzarella. 9.5/10 The old fashioned was among the better ones I've had in recent memory. Now I'm by no means a bourbon snob, so I won't attempt to pretend that I know more than I do about all of the intricacies of the drink, but it was a seemingly perfect balance of sweetness, smokiness and warmth. Finally, in my eyes, a good old fashioned is only as good as the cherry, and this one did not disappoint. 8.7/10 The ambiance is was similar to the other locations I've had the pleasure of visiting and it gave off the traditional Grimaldi's vibes. My lady commented on the wine bottle light fixtures, as well as the red and white checkered table cloths that are changed after each use. We enjoyed the old school jazzy, big band music, and while some may consider it cliche, we found it just tied the atmosphere together. Service was top notch as well! I unfortunately do not remember the names of the gals that helped us but they were attentive, welcoming, and accommodating. Service, ambience and food were all amazing that we ended up going back the next day for lunch again before we left town. We had the same food, but we swapped out the old fashioned for a strawberry cheesecake. The cheesecake was delightful! Good portion size, not as dense and filling as some cheesecakes can be, and the strawberries baked into the cake complemented it well, neither overpowered the other. Overall, we greatly enjoyed both experiences and look forward to returning to Wichita to try some of the other items on the menu, such as the upcoming seasonal offerings that on of the other employees mentioned to us prior to departing. read more

Originally from the east coast so I know this place well. Stands up to what we get at the NYC location. Pizza is excellent every time and the way true coal oven pizza should be : thin crust , great sauce ( not filled with salt and sugar ) , quality toppings , and the right amount of and type of mozzarella cheese ( not oily and pilled on ). This isn't a pizza you load with toppings - you put maybe 3 maximum (with 1 being a vegetable ). This is QUALITY pizza and the service is always friendly. read more

After a long day of work we opted to grab dinner out as we were famished. Thought we'd try Grimaldi's for the first time since they had been open for several months. We were sat right by the open kitchen mainly because most of the empty tables were dirty. (It was 6:30 on a Tuesday so not like we came after the dinner rush). Our server who was also the bartender made her way to the table when she could 3-5 mins after we were sat. She was pleasant and knowledgeable and honestly probably the only one I saw working. Seemed to be a no boss situation because most of the employees were standing directly behind us talking to the cooks. They were LOUD and having a good time (don't get me wrong, I'm totally about having some fun) but had no regard for any of the customers. I could not even hear my husband talking over them. Turned around a couple times hoping they'd catch the hint but they didn't. We had an appetizer of the Bruschetta which was nice. We each ordered a Calzone which had a base price and then every topping was an additional amount based on what it was. My 12" calzone was $26 after adding 3 ingredients. My husband's was $25. The food came and was hot but rather flavorless. There was so much Ricotta cheese in it that was about all I could taste. The highlight of the meal was the Grimaldi sauce on the side to dip with, it was delicious. Asked for a box when finished and put the uneaten portion away. Plate was empty of food and server brought me the ticket without an effort to remove the dirty dishes. Came and picked up my payment with no other attempt to take my dishes. Brought the card back and finally took the plates. All the dirty table that were there when we walked in were still dirty when we left. It really felt like a case of when the cat is away the mice will play. We will try it again possibly one day for pizza but with as many good places that there are to eat in Wichita, can't say when. read more

Extremely disappointed in our visit to this location. Being originally from New York, I was excited since they advertise "authentic" New York pizza. However, the crust is NOTHING like it. I posted a photo of the burnt dry pieces that literally fell off the pizza the moment I tried to fold my piece in half to eat. Our waitress "Jessica" was extremely inattentive: We basically saw her to take our order and to receive the check. We had ordered salad, slice of pizza, and soda lunch specials. However, after waiting quite some time, the slices of pizza were delivered (by another waitress) although we had not even received our salads. When I complained, the other waitress went to check on our salads, coming back with them about 5 minutes later. I told her that I wanted a new slice of hot pizza delivered after I finished my salad. Of course, that was a mistake, as I waited, and waited, and waited until our original waitress finally came over to say she would get the pizza slice for me. However, it actually took ANOTHER 10 minutes or so before she finally brought it over to me. I felt rushed after this to eat the pizza as the rest of our party was already finished at that point. The pizza is definitely NOT authentic tasting. Having just come back recently from visiting back home in New York and eating in Little Italy, the pizza is just okay. On another note, the restaurant is kind of frumpy looking as all the tables had VERY wrinkled tablecloths that looked like they had been thrown on the tables. No attention to detail with how the tables looked and it definitely showed. On a good note, the Caesar salad tasted very good, despite having to wait so long to get it. I couldn't wait to try this restaurant and read that the pizza was from "Brooklyn" to "Kansas." I have to say I was disappointed in my Margherita pizza -it was just okay. I'm from NY/NJ area and have had my share of pizzas there and this just did not hold up to the NY name behind it. A bit too well done and the flavor of dough & marinara was mediocre. On a good note, the house ranch salad was good -they do have a nice selection of various salads and a small can easily feed 2 people. They also offer side condiments for the pizza which I definitely appreciated- garlic, parm cheese, oregano, pepper flakes etc. The ambiance was very pretty with inside decor of nostalgic New York pictures on the walls. I loved the wine bottle chandeliers adding a nice Italian touch. Our server, Destini, was very friendly & accommodating.
