This is my husband's first stop when we visit. That man loves a Grimm burger. His favorite has pimento cheese on it, I build my own. The staff is always attentive, kind and willing to offer suggestions on draft beer selections. Can I just say the Lavender Lemonade Cider made my day and helped me forget all about the 8 hour drive there. I love a town with a variety of beer and wine and Wilmington is a great place for this experience. Considering the name, the somewhat dark/metal devour may not be my choice but fits the vibe for sure. There is an outdoor, pet friendly area but 100 degree weather wasn't calling my name. Delightful burgers! Wonderful fries! Place feels a little too chain-y for my general preference, but otherwise a truly great burger joint that doesn't try to be anything other than a great burger joint. Food was delicious! Great flavor and texture on the smash burgers. The texture and crisp of the fries were great and they were seasoned well. The loaded fries were hands down, the best! I could have eaten them all day! Drinks options were only available as cans or bottles from a small cooler that the staff also pulled from while we ate - a little odd. We came over here after a long day at the beach and the Burger is tasty and it comes out very quick. If you are looking for a pit stop or something to have a good burger and fries and a beer this is a good place to try. It's not a place you come for the ambience, it's very simple and nothing special to the decor or anything in fact it cold use a little personality, although the location I went was small if there are any other maybe go there to see but here the service is pretty much a friendly quick fast food dine you order air and they bring the order. Not clear about the sauces and as easy and simple as the menu is the create their own words for their items and can feel a hit confusing but you can have burger or Philly cheese stakes or grilled cheese, so not a good place for vegans nor gluten free needed options available. Stopped by Grimm Burger for the first time yesterday. Not a good experience. Staff wasn't particularly welcoming. Felt like they were doing us a favor by taking our order. When the order was ready one of the staff walked by and dropped them on the table without saying a word. Decided to "dine in" but changed our mind because of all the flies that were harassing us. Moved outside in hopes of escaping the flies. No luck, just as bad out there. To be fair, the food was pretty decent except at one point I had a bite that was un-chewable. Had to discretely dispose of that part into a napkin. Maybe we just caught the place on a bad day. At least for us it will be the first and last visit. read more

Best burgers in town and it isn't really close. The prices are reasonable compared to some other spots. They grind their own beef and you can definitely tell the difference. Don't sleep on the chopped cheeses, they are also excellent and a nice change if you don't just want a burger. read more

So stoked that Grimm finally has a physical location! I've been a few times since opening and the burgers are always on point and smashed to perfection. I love the classic grimmburger and the tombstone (can't beat a bbq burger), the fries are great and seasoned well too. The one thing I'm bummed about is the seating - it can get crowded (especially for dinner) pretty quickly and there's limited seating at that point. On my most recent visit (mind you it was a Friday night around 6), I sat outside with friends and we had people hovering over us making us feel like we had to scurry so they could have a seat. Stopped in for lunch. Everything was OK. Food came out fast. Table had a Grimm burger and an executioner chopped cheese, pickle fries and onion rings, bottle of water and a beer. Thought $45 was a little pricy for this meal. Service was good and it was a typical burger joint furniture. I could have had the same meal at 5 Guys cheaper. Was it good? It wasn't near the other top shelf burger joints ( 5 Guys, Island burgers, Mess Hall or Winnie's) but adequate. Would I go there again? Probably not. read more

IMO this is one of the best burgers (if not the best burger) in Wilmington. I was worried that when they went form Food truck to Brick & Mortar the quality would change but I am pleasantly surprised that things are the same (if not better!). Their little corner spot has limited seating, so get there early on a weekend or a busy day (or plan to take out). If you like smashburgers, this is the spot for you. The meat and buns are high quality and their home made dips & sauces are the real deal. I like that they also are offering a more expanded menu in the brick & mortar (like their chopped cheeses and a dessert slice). I'm a burger guy and I must say that Grimm Burger does not disappoint. The pro was that the burger was tasty and was packed with flavor, however they don't have any value meals so everything you purchase is individually priced. For example: cheapest burger $10, fries $4.50, can of coke $1.50 which totals $16 bucks. Which does get a little pricey. The staff were also very friendly. The con about my first experience are two things, first- they have no fountain drink machines so you either purchase a bottle of water or a can of coke for $1.50. This is a deal breaker for me, I enjoy having a nice cold cup of coke full of ice with my meal. In my opinion this ruined my experience. The second con, was the lack of AC, I mean seriously it's hot and humid outside at least make your customers comfortable. Inside was warm, muggy, and uncomfortable which became very unpleasant to be, this shifted my focus on how uncomfortable I was instead of enjoying my meal. If you want to try this place I recommend to order your food to go and purchase your drink somewhere else and eat in your car. I may not be going back unless I purchase a drink somewhere else. The lady at the front was absolutely aloof and acted as if we were disturbing her by asking questions (first visit) basically downright rude. We ordered 6 burgers for the 6 people we had with us, each stepped up and ordered theirs. When the food came out, we were missing one, two had cheese where it requested none, and pickles and onions when requested none (thank goodness nothing that was allergy concerned). When we asked if the last was coming out she proceeded to argue with my husband that we only ordered 5. I will say that right there was enough to be over it. Limited seating options , definitely not friendly staff. You have to ask for ketchup or any condiments basically at all and I've just never seen that for a burger and fries restaurant. Sadly the two gentlemen behind us were missing one of the burgers as well and then a few minutes after came back up complaining it was cold when they brought it to him. I can say, from initial reviews we were excited to try, but after our first time it wasn't worth the experience we had. I will never understand why people are in the restaurant and customers service industry who don't appear to like working with people at all. read more
