Up front I'm a hard grader. The only reason I'll give establishment five stars is due to a member of the service team went above their duties. This is a noon meal. First impression was inviting, very clean, noise volume was low to what I was expecting. The way the order was taken is uni unique, I like it no 48" iPad with buttons. Just a pad and pencil you get to fill out. The receptionist was very helpful in explaining the menu and how the order sheet works. It's so simple, that I made it hard. I got the grill chicken, fries, and sweet tea. Was great! Definitely better than any fast food microwave sandwich we've been forced to live with. During my meal, at least three times the cooks asked if they could top off my drink or anything else they could make my meal more enjoyable. No, it wasn't annoying or too much. My previous experiences here were pretty good in the past but tonight they got my order WRONG! I had ordered 2 of their old fashioned burgers with American cheese and "everything on it." It came out plain as can be looking more like greasy dog food. When I called and spoke to the manager Liza she said she couldn't do anything about it but could only offer me free French Fries with my next order. She said they're not in the business of giving out "free food!" It wasn't just what she said but her nasty, condescending words and her tone with me that escalated my frustration with how they treat customers when they bring up a grievance. Such a great smell when you walk in!! The staff was very nice helpful and friendly.. we didn't know how it runs so sweet lady behind counter showed us how to fill out an individual order form and explained we pay at end! Lots of choices in burgers and hot fogs and other yummy stuff! We went to zoo just down street today and got super hungry there! This was a perfect location! Soilid no frills Burger restaurant, that is way better than fast food options. UNCW is our preferred location, but when you live in CB who wants to fight more traffic once you go OTB? This location in the HT shopping center is a good trade off to having to go farther inland. But the product is not the same, please don't over cook the burgers and keep the buns fresh. Called ahead for pickup. Upon entering the location I let the front know I was there for a pickup order. Unfortunately I wasn't dating any of the workers so I didn't receive excellent service. I had to go back up and ask about my order and the response was they didn't realize we were there and I was asked if I had paid. You will be hardpressed to find a better burger. Most times. It used to be a draw between Five Guys and P.T's for my burger fix. Hands down, the burger used to be tastier due maybe to the quality of the beef and the fat and the grill giving back some charred love in the form of flavor. Lately though, (the last three burgers) have changed.....Actually 6 if you count my dining companion. They are less flavorful, and often include a bite of gristle. Not the best thing to chomp on, IMHO. Now, I can usually excuse that occasional surprise as the quality of the meat had always been outstanding. We needed dinner before heading home from the beach. I turned to Yelp and was not disappointed! The sandwiches come as a combo with fries and the drink included for one price. It really is a lot of food. I forgot to ask before I left if items can be purchased separately, as they're not listed as such. This has to be one of the best burgers I've ever had! Seriously! Stopped here for a burger because I heard they had the best. I kinda just wanted a burger but don't know if that is actually an option. Each sandwich automatically comes with fries (or a salad) and a drink. I should have asked but didn't. If I go back I will ask. That's too much food for me and I don't drink soda so I don't need the drink or the fries. Speaking of fries they were good, but could use a little more time in the fryer and most of mine were small broken pieces. But they seasoning on them was good. The burger was great! Really nice flavor. Good amount of toppings. My burger was a little smaller than the bun so I ended with an empty bun in the end but I was pretty full anyway so it was ok. Great burger, great fries and ok service...it's basically Five Guys but not as "franchisee" if that makes sense. I was happily surprised that you can ask for the temp of your burger so ordered Med Rare (can't do that at 5 guys) but it came out well done anyway. Choice of 4 Oz party or 8 Oz party so we tried both...well seasoned patties and you can taste the charbroiled flavor as opposed to flat top burgers. 8 Oz is the way to go more juicy and Han the 4 Oz and not too much by any means. Fries are very 5 guys as well and that's never a bad thing. Burgers all come with fries which is nice and plenty of them! I've heard about this place for burgers, and I really wanted to try it. My boyfriend and I really enjoyed it! We went at 2pm on Sunday, New Year's Eve, and they were still really busy! To order, you walk up to the counter and complete the form. You check off the type of burger you want, and circle the toppings you'd like. (Which really makes me happy! I only do ketchup and pickles-I know, I know.) I was very surprised and happy that all burgers come with fries and a drink. I believe you could chose a side salad for an up-charge. Then, you hunt to find an open table! Ha! It did take longer than expected to get our food; however, we tried to keep in mind that there were two large parties also there. When our food did come, it was piping hot. The fries were really good. You can tell that they're hand cut, and you can also see the guy in the back cutting them! They have a good seasoning on them. Their ranch is very good-you can tell it's homemade. The burger was delicious! I may have eaten it way too fast. It was juicy and cooked just under well done (since I'd prefer medium, that makes me happy). It had lots of flavor, and the exact toppings I'd asked for. I will definitely be back here! read more

PT's is a great little grille to get a pretty awesome burger, the grilled chicken sandwich was outstanding as well. It's a little tough to find if you don't know it's there, it's tucked away in a shopping center that you really can't see from the road and there's just a tiny sign that's easy to miss. At the counter they have little ordering pads you fill out yourself, you circle and put check marks by the items, toppings and sides you want on your order. The burger was delicious monster, cooked perfect, nice and juicy, it was just an outstanding burger. I had a taste of the grilled chicken also and it was really really great, it was ordered with pepperjack cheese and mushrooms, very moist and tender chicken breast grilled perfectly with good grill flavor to it, just a really nice sammich to say the least. The fries were pretty awesome too. I'd never been to any of PT's locations before, but I'll most definitely be returning when I'm in town. read more

I really like this restaurant and come here a lot but tonight I received absolutely awful service and didn't even get my food. I hate to be a "karen" and complain but I work in the food service industry as well and had I done to a customer what was done to me I'd be fired, plain and simple It started when I called the restaurant to place a order. The person who picked up the phone didn't even say the name of the restaurant he just says "monkey junction" and I had to confirm I had called the correct place. I place my order and am told it will be ready to pickup in 10-15 minutes. When I arrive I walk inside and get in line to check in and the cashier helps the people ahead of me. I noticed while he was helping one person he's constantly flipping his mask over his face and then back down to his chin, I'm assuming the person couldn't hear him. When I get to the counter the guy just walks off. I stand there waiting while him and another guy run around doing various things. I'm finally acknowledged by the guy. He says sorry I'll be right with you. A minute later he walks back up and proceeds to ring up the person BEHIND ME! The cashier and customer literally REACHING OVER MY SHOULDER to ring another customer up. I walked out after that. Clearly my business isn't wanted here. read more

Being new to the area, everyone who I had talked to about Pt's said something along the lines of "they have the best burgers in all of Wilmington" or "this is my ALL TIME favorite burger I have ever eaten" Needless to say, my hopes/expectations were through the roof. I rated this a 3/5 because they were not OHMYGOD (*cue Janice voice*) AMAZING, but they definitely were A-OK/good burgers. The atmosphere is very pleasant and casual. The service is very quick considering the amount of traffic they receive. You give your order by filling out a small checklist sheet that was confusing when I first came here. I love how you are able to customize your burger to your liking, however, they do not have the most extensive toppings list. The burger reminded me of a little less greasy version of a five-guys burger, still very good. Their fries are also good, and they come included with the burger as well as a drink. As stated above, I'm decently new to the area, so I have not yet found the 'best' burger in the Wilmington area, however, I do not believe it is here. I would recommend this place if you are looking for a burger in terms of more upscale than Mcdonalds or Cookout, but less upscale than say a more fancy sit down restaurant. read more

First of all I had my food to-go. They fries were a big soggy and I think lemon pepper on them. They were just ok. The Hamburgers were a complete mess not only were they on the bottom if the bag completely squished they were sopping wet to the point where we just had to take the bund off. Very generous with onions and pickled way too much in my opinion by the time we made the food edible half of it was gone. I love PT's and always make a point to visit when I'm in Wilmington. This particular location is great. The food is consistently delicious and the service is excellent. Tonight I had a server stop by and check to see if I needed a refill or any condiments at least four times during the time that I was there. It's great to have that level of service at a counter-service restaurant. Make sure to ask for extra seasoning to put on your fries, and try the honey mustard sauce. I been on the hunt for a five guys experience in the CB area and I found it, great thick burgers with fresh ingredients and awesome fries. Very similar to "Fosters Grille" which was in competition in NOVA for burger supremacy. Where you get a menu paper pad and circle your toppings / sides / drinks. Very efficient and super easy to make a custom meal. Staff was very friendly and food was prepared in a timely fashion. This is going to be my go to spot when I have a burger craving and I plan on exploring more menu items in 2014. If you are looking for a nice fresh juicy burger and great homemade fries then this is the spot. read more
