I got an empanada during after getting some drinks with my family. The empanada was really hot and spicy. It was exactly the snack that I was looking for after having a few drinks.

My man and I were walking down old town and taking selfies. Then this very kind person came out an offered to take our picture. We then started walking and noticed that she worked at this place gringo Gordo and we decided to go in and try some of their empanadas and we are so glad we did. The empanadas were delicious. I had the smoked chicken and my boyfriend had the Argentina. The ambience were so cute and quaint, but we ate outside to take in the the sights. The service was amazing, I recommend this place to all!!! Thank you Ingra fir your awesome hospitality

Empanadas are a woefully neglected method of eating in America and after going to this establishment, I now want to keep eating more! It's essentially a hot pocket on steroids. You name it, it goes in there. Meat, cheese, apples, you name it, it works. I haven't had the juice here but I'm sure if its anything like the empanadas here, its excellent. The man who work here is very friendly and service is fast.

This shop was so cute! I had the pepperoni, ham, and caprese empanadas and they were wonderful! They were also very reasonably priced. Thoroughly recommend!

They all look the same from the outside of empanadas, but when you bite into each of them, it's unbelievably different and delicious

Don't bother with any other restaurant on the mall, just come here and eat all the empanadas! For real. The Argentinian was the best I've had in the states. Don't leave without trying the chimichurri to go with your empanadas! Seriously, the best chimichurri I've ever had. Wash it down with passion fruit juice!

    3 empanadas: 1 brisket, 1 caprese, 1 Argentine beef.

Oh - I happened to stumble into this place in Winchester. The owner invited me in and I bought 3 and ate them and bought 12 to take home. My goodness - here are my thoughts ... this place will take off. 1. The empanadas are PACKED with the goody fillings : either beef, brisket, mushroom, chicken or cheese. 2. They are not fried - no greasy stuff 3. Lots of flavor - not overwhelming - just right 4. Menu is very simple 5. Price is very reasonable 6. The dough is just right - not thick and not thin 7. They also have the empanada desert - filled with mozzarella cheese and topped with exotic fruit purée - guava etc 8. The owner is awesome - he even has an app for his shop "gringo gordo" I walked out with a dozen to take home to put in oven 10 minutes. Highly recommended!!! Must try.

    Deliciousness!!!

Visiting Winchester for the first time and happened to pass by this place. As someone who is Latin and lived in Miami for many years, I am always on the lookout for South American flavors and this place didn't disappoint. Some of the most delicious empanadas I have ever had, and that's really saying something. Also get the chimichurri sauce along with your empanadas, absolutely amazing!!!! Will be back every time we come back to this town. Just come here, that's all I can say!!!

Holy Jesus this place is the best food on the walking mall I'm coming back tomorrow. So so so good

These are amazing empanadas! They are hot and fresh. Our favorites are the spicy beef and the brisket. We will be stopping in a lot.

Taqueria Guadalajara has a bit of a tucked away location just on the outskirts of Winchester,…read morewhich gives it that standalone, local spot feel. While having its own building is a plus, parking can quickly become a headache during busy hours, so timing your visit makes a difference. Walking in, there wasn't a host present, which made the entrance feel a little unorganized at first. However, a server quickly stepped in and pointed us in the right direction. From there, the experience improved the service was genuinely friendly and attentive, which helped set a positive tone for the meal. The burrito was the highlight. It came out well prepared with solid flavor throughout, even though it didn't include any sides. Normally, that might feel like something is missing, but the taste was good enough to carry the dish on its own. Pricing leans a bit on the higher side, which is something to keep in mind, especially given the lack of extras. Overall, Taqueria Guadalajara delivers where it matters most good flavor and friendly service even if it has a few logistical hiccups like parking and the initial lack of greeting. It's the kind of place that leaves you debating between a 4 and a 5, but the quality of the food ultimately pushes it into 5-star territory

Returned for the first time in a while, and it was the most crowded I've ever seen the place…read more Strongly recommend they consider some pads on the ceiling to absorb the sound, or maybe a carpet, but our table of three was shouting to hear each other on a Tuesday night. Salsa continues to be delicious (albeit punishing the next day), and of my three tacos, carnitas was the only one to write home about. Pescado was fishy (not in the good way), and the al pastor was, again, just okay. Pointed out my chipped water glass to the server, who was apologetic and promptly replaced it. Best tacos in the area continue to be Los Altos de Jalisco in Winchester. I said what I said.

Stopped here to grab some breakfast before hitting the road for the long drive home. We just wanted…read morea couple of bagels and some coffee, thought it would only take a few minutes but luckily we didn't have any coins smaller than quarters for the parking meter or we would have run out of time waiting. Walked in to the very small space and were told we needed to order online, so we got out our phones and scanned one of the many QR code signs posted on every surface anordered - two bagels, one with cream cheese and the other with butter. He confirmed he received the orders immediately- even before the payment had gone through. That seemed like a good sign. We waited and watched while he made salads and other orders for people who presumably ordered online before us, but didn't come in to pick up while we were there. Eventually he made our bagels, put them in cardboard baskets, covered them with aluminum foil (not sure why we needed that cardboard waste -- would have been happy with my bagel just wrapped in foil), covered them with paper towels, put them each in separate paper bags, and placed them on the counter while calling our names (even though we were the only people in the place and he had confirmed he knew who we were when he received the order). We took the bagels and walked across the street and got our coffees from the cute cat cafe with the friendly staff. Hit the road, and pulled out our bagels in the car. First bite was so bad that I tossed the rest of the bagel back in the bag... it was so crunchy it was more of a thick bagel chip, and shards of bagel stuck between my teeth like splinters. Certainly one-of-a-kind, I've never had another bagel like it. About 10 miles later I was hungry enough to get the bagel out and try again... this time I kneaded it through the aluminum foil a bit to bread it up first. It was still very crunchy and sharp, but there were some softer bits toward the middle. There wasn't much flavor, except where it was drenched in butter (and those bites tasted like butter, which isn't a bad taste I guess). TLDR, if you want bagels in Winchester WV skip this place and go to Sclafani's.

My boyfriend is a frequent flyer here so when I visited he insisted, which is not hard because I…read moreLOVE bagels. The owner runs the place by himself in the heart of downtown. The inside gives an older coffee shop vibe and very family owned. The owner is incredibly kind and recognizes everyone that stops by. They have regular and everything bagels and you can get a breakfast sandwich with egg, cheese, bacon or sausage. The portion is huge and it's delicious. The everything bagel is full of flavor and super fluffy but also a layer of crisp. I had the pizza bagel both mornings we came and it was phenomenal. I still think about it and can't wait to come back. The portion is perfect and it also comes on an everything bagel. They also have a lox bagel and you can get bagels to go. The inside is darling with a large area in the back. Amazing place!
