Never any complaints. When I want a decent taco, this is my go to for lunch or dinner however, breakfast here is my favorite.

Really good food at an affordable price. People are nice. We get a house every year and this is our go to place for lunch or dinner.

Excellent shrimp tacos a little spicy for me but I think mild spicy is hot. My mom and brother got the burrito and said it was so filling

Food was alright but the managers were rude and disrespectful to the employees. Chips were stale.

Placed an order for take out , screwed up the order, and left the meat out of the tacos. Don't waste your time.

Started with chips and salsa - made on-site and they also brought us three sauces, also made on-site - a jalapeño sauce, a red sauce and a tomatillo sauce. 100% recommend-all were delicious. We decided to split our meals and ordered a chicken burrito and the shrimp quesadillas. The burrito was very tasty, with what seemed like freshly made refried beans and delicious chicken. A little too much rice for me, I would have preferred less rice and maybe some grilled onions and peppers. The shrimp quesadillas were NOT what we expected. The shell seemed almost flash fried and in addition to the shrimp it had lettuce and melted manchego cheese. It was really, REALLY good. Service was great and we weren't rushed. There were four other tables filled while we were there and three of them were speaking Spanish which made me feel like we chose the right place. Seriously, I felt like the food here was made someone who'd been cooking like this for decades. A very cool little restaurant that I cannot recommend enough! Great food, great service, and a great location. (Sorry, forgot to take pics here)

The restaurant itself is a good size with roughly 12 tables. It always appears to be clean and well kept. Their birria is my favorite. I've had the pizza (for 2), the tacos and the quesadilla, all always delish. My wife typically orders the mushroom quesadilla which are really nice and fresh. We enjoy Monte's and you would too.

This was our third visit to El Familiar. Today was Father's Day 2026…read more First, my daughter had made reservations for 15. They didn't hesitate. We showed up at 12:30 pm. We were seated almost immediately. The restaurant had just a few tables occupied. The restaurant was clean, quiet and our seating was spacious. We were promptly attended to. Second, we were given a Father's Day menu which was a very abbreviated version of their usual menu. Our server was quick to point out that if there was anything we wanted that was on the normal menu that we remembered, all we had to do was ask. We were delighted. We placed our drink orders. We were given plenty of time to review the menu and discuss what else we might want from the regular menu. We placed our orders. The wait for our meals was commensurate with the number of people. The food arrived piping hot. Everyone was served within minutes. The food was absolutely delicious and the portions enormous. I ordered 2 appetizers thinking they were going to be reasonable. I fed most of the table while still having enough for myself. Needless to say, to-go containers were necessary. Last, I want to say again that this was my and my wife's third visit. Each time we were served and attended to by Danna (?). I can't say enough positive things about her. She was attentive, friendly, warm, patient and very happy and helpful. She was very accepting even though I was doing my best with my high school Spanish. For my wife and me, I will ask for Danna to be our server and will be as much of a regular patron as possible. I would highly recommend El Familiar. You can't beat the ambiance, food quality and service.

The menu is virtually the same at all locations aside from a few specials. Seaside Park is an awesome joint located just a block from the beach. This allows for great eats after some sand and sun. If you're a fan of unattended teenagers with oversized backpacks taking over tables and chairs before ordering food (if at all) then you'll be right at home. The more underage they are the less clothing they wear. Shoes (and pants and shirts) are optional. SECRET TIP: Don't sit near the soda machine or the salsa bar. It's a high traffic area. Also stay away from the door, or the windows, or the center where the line will run out the door at all times of day. It may look long, but really each kid and backpack take the space of 3 normal adults. Half of them don't order anyway so it moves fast! Enjoy!

I've just eaten my last meal at Seaside Park Surf Taco after a thoroughly lazy and indifferent…read morecustomer experience. I've eaten there several times each summer since at least 2014. The cost of my meals there has soared at least 250% - $32 bucks for two takeaway burritos?! Sure, everything costs more now, but the carelessly handled food and poor service last night was the breaking point. I ordered by phone--twice correcting the order-taker for getting my name wrong (it's only the single-most common male name since the US started keeping records...). When I arrived at the restaurant, which was empty (SSP Surf Taco is usually crowded at 7 PM) I was told the order wasn't ready... only it WAS ready, but the order-taker got my name wrong a 3d time and my meal was sitting there on the counter getting cold. So I waited in the restaurant. When a counterperson finally asked if I had ordered, I informed them I was waiting for an order I had called in. They checked the bags and informed me it was ready, but the name was wrong. When I argued that the order is now probably cold, the counterperson dismissively told me foil wrapping would keep it warm. It didn't. When I got my order home, both items were room-temperature. One item was wrong, and I discovered they no longer included tortilla chips with their meals (a minor inconvenience, but a big part of the experience, IMO.) All in all, this litany of minor inconveniences has sworn me off something I genuinely enjoyed as part the experience of being at the Shore for 13 summers. Never thought Surf Taco would take its customers for granted, but here we are. And there I go...
