Not just the best Mexican in the area but the best Mexican I've ever eaten. This place, especially in its new location is worth a destination visit. The service is fantastic the interior is nice, not like wow but really nice but the food... holy cow!!! The enchiladas verde is fantastic!!

Went to dinner with my ex last night she had no idea she'd been here already and she's not a big fan. It is a very authentic place and was super busy and got busier even after we left. They don't have traditional salsa with their chips. You get a thick chip with some sauces that you can squirt onto the chip. You can order pico de gallo with chips for 8.50. The pico was very fresh and chunky. My ex ordered some street tacos. She only ate one. I took the other one home. I got the enchiladas suiza filled with shredded chicken. Served with a traditional green sauce, black beans, and rice. Also topped with a little sour cream and avocado. Very authentic. Food was prepared quick and service is friendly and knowledgeable. They have an outside eating area out back they have a sit down counter bar area. Definitely stop in when you're in town!

Great drinks to start. We pretty much had it all. Mango margaritas on the rocks and frozen. Delicious both ways. The fish tacos were good, as were the nachos. Food was fresh, hot and came out in good time considering all seats in the place were filled. Service was exceptional, especially the volume that was doing take out and dining in. We always had fresh drinks and were checked in often. Ambiance was casual, vibe was loud and fun. The decor was traditional Mexican art works and decor. One more beautiful piece than the next every where you look. Enjoyed this place, the company who brought us there for date night and would love to return!

I love that this place was good. When we showed up we definitely judged the book, but we gave it a try! Which you should! It's such a wholesome place. Mexican decor coating the walls, baskets hanging, Spanish music playing and you having a good time! We got nachos for the table which was interesting. Homemade chips, black beans, amazing chicken, cheese, pickled carrots?? Amazing btw, jalapeños and lettuce and tomatoes. Perfect size for 6 people. We requested just chicken it would've came with beef and shrimp but we just wanted the chicken. I got the beef fajitas, came to me on a sizzling cast iron like other spots, a mountain of onions, peppers and beef. Coming behind was homemade tortillas, guacamole, refried beans, sour cream and tomatoes and red onions. Greatttt! Everything came out so delicious and good. It's refreshing to see a wait staff so excited to serve you your food. Everything came out to be just under $200, 6 people, all got drinks, some double drinks. COME HERE. It's so nice here.

Another stop with wife tonight and we enjoyed it immensely. Food is delicious the margarita is wonderful and they have the best selection of Mexican beers to be found anywhere in Jersey. Just a tip however because of the price of drinks here you bill will be much higher that a typical Mexican restaurant that is BYOB. Reminds me of my youth when stationed in San Antonio and going into town for authentic Mexican food on the river walk. A million years ago ..

Good little spot that we popped in for lunch. Very colorful and fun music. The chairs were very unique! Service was very nice and friendly. My friend said the margarita was really good! 3 of us got enchiladas and 1 got a burrito. All the food was yummy.

    Frozen mango margarita so good!

Fresh food, strong drinks, good music, friendly staff, and clean. I can't say enough about this place! My mom and I really enjoyed our meals and drinks! We had the chicken quesadillas and the shrimp tacos and everything was so fresh. Our frozen mango margaritas got us feelin' good for sure! So good and strong! We came here on a Sunday afternoon and you could tell it was a local favorite but I'm so glad we found it as a tourist and listened to the reviews. Sure, there are other Mexican places, but this had good atmosphere AND a back patio to chill out in. I will definitely be back to try more things. I could tell other tables were enjoying their food and drinks too when we would randomly make eye contact and start groovin' to the music. If you're in the area or even on the beach, make a stop here! The colors and decorations inside were so amazing too. I loved looked at everything.

Doesn't look like much from outside but once Inside you are transported to a festive Mexican vacation feeling. Very colorful and lively decor. Place was busy and we only had to wait a few minutes for a table to be cleared in the outdoor area in the back which was surprisingly very nicely decorated and comfortable considering how warm it was outside service was quick and attentive, food tasted pretty good and was fast. Chips were supplied with waitress, a hot and mild salsa was given with it but not your typical salsa for dipping which was the only disappointment I can say ( was basically.

This is a cool spot on Main street that looks super small on the outside but when you get in, the property goes on and on. They have a cool spacious patio out back with additional seating. I loved the outdoor seating! Sidebar- I do have to point out that the bathroom was exceptionally clean! Super thumbs up! Everyone was friendly and the waitress was pretty helpful when we were deciding on an entree. The reason I took off a star is because the drinks were not good. We ordered margaritas which were not cheap and they tasted like complete puree/juice. Very disappointing! The shrimp tacos and guacamole was excellent though! I tore that food up!! Compliments to the Chef! My friend had a grilled shrimp dish with chipotle sauce and that was also pretty tasty. I can recommend the place but you should just drink before you go- Sorry! They dropped the ball in the drink department. Thumbs up for the food though!!!:)

One of the biggest draws at 9th Ave Pier is the harbor backdrop. The restaurant can get crowded and noisy during peak hours, particularly depending on where you're seated, but we lucked out with a table that offered great views without feeling overwhelmed by the crowd. The food arrived surprisingly quickly, especially considering how busy the restaurant was. Don't come expecting fine dining presentation. This is a casual waterfront spot where meals arrive in baskets and drinks come in plastic cups. We got the Volcano Shrimp appetizer which large enough for sharing and tasted good. For entrees, the Ahi Tuna Poke Bowl was good and decent portion size. The Flounder Sandwich was the best due to the portion size: basically two large fillets per sandwich; although I wish it had other sauce options, besides the tartar sauce. We added an order of fries, which were tasty though they could have benefited from a bit more crispness. It took a little bit to get drinks/refills but the waitress was hustling so I just think the bar was backed up. Overall decent casual food.

We grabbed seats at the larger of the two bars to enjoy some drinks, the summer breeze, and the excellent live music. While they had a bunch of interesting cocktails, I stuck with a basic tequila and club soda. We did not order any food, but I would also not say that it looked very appetizing. After sitting for a bit, we felt like it was time to move on to a new venue, when we learned that the same company also managed a mini-golf course at the other end of the marina. It only cost $7 per adult to play, so it seemed like a no-brainer. The course was relatively easy, so we went through it very quickly, but it was a fun way to spend the afternoon. Between the two areas, we were truly able to enjoy the beautiful weather at a relaxing pace.

But I think we caught them on an extremely off night. We had a reservation and came in on time. We were told to sit down and that another waiter would come by to show us to our table. We waited for ten minutes before we were seated, and in that time another bigger party came in and were seated before us. Even when we were seated, the new waiter said he thought we were just waiting for appetizers, and didn't realize we even needed a table. Had we not said anything, we would have been waiting even longer to be seated even with the reservation. We quickly placed our drink and food orders, and this is when service continued to decline. It was clear that there were only two waiters for the smaller dinning room, and yet they were doing a little bit of everything. Our first waitress was also folding silverware, moving clean dishes back to the kitchen, and checking in on the entire dining room. Our second waiter was also the bartender, food runner, and table buser. Needless to say, they needed more hands on deck. I know they were doing their best, but an hour to get our food is really ridiculous. And in that time we were not checked on for water refills or just to ask if we needed anything. Even when our food came out, we had to stop one of the two waiters and ask about the food. Only then, after a few more minutes did they get the food from the kitchen. While not shown in the picture, we got the brussel sprouts and carrot appetizer. This was the only food item we were kind of disappointed with as we couldn't really taste any sriracha, and felt we could have made something similar at home. Other than that, when our three main dishes finally did come out, they were served hot and everything was cooked very well. We all really enjoyed the food we ordered. Really good, but also not out-of-this-world like the price and reviews suggested. In the end, the service was just extremely slow and the price of the food was very high (about $30 per person for three people plus two drinks about $15 each), making it very hard to justify the overall experience. And even though the food was really good, I would not say it was worth going through the extremely long wait.

The restaurant was located in a multi-floor home on Wesley Lake, just around the corner from the hustle and bustle of Cookman Avenue. The first floor was more of a bar and lounge, and they had a live jazz band on the evening we visited. We checked in with the hostess and were escorted up to the second floor dining room, which was a charming spot that was breezy and comfortable, yet refined. The floor also had its own bar. Our server was on top of things, but was also clearly newer to the place. Regardless, once we got settled, she took our drink orders, which had taken us some time to decide on since the menu was creative and vast. I went with A Sidecar Named Desire, which included Courvoisier VSOP, Cointreau, Chinola passionfruit liqueur, and fresh lemon juice. I adore passion fruit and had always liked sidecars as well, so I figured it was worth a try, and I loved it! It had a good balance of tart sweetness and smokiness. My friend similarly enjoyed her spicy margarita, and we both imbibed while picking on some bread and herb butter. For our meal, we decided to start by sharing the Greek Salad, which was a massive bowl of romaine topped with tomatoes, cucumbers, peppers, red onions, and Kalamata olives. We left off the feta cheese, but enjoyed the seasoned dressing made of red wine vinegar, honey, salt, oregano, and olive oil. It was a fresh and flavorful mix of vegetables that was a pleasure to eat. The entree options were endless and offered something for everyone. I wound up going with the Chilean Sea Bass, which was served over sweet onions and potatoes in a tomato herb reduction. The fish was tender and perfectly cooked. It was a light and tasty dish that seemed perfect for the Spring season. After our meals we were a bit too full for dessert, but we decided to get a second round of drinks, mainly because I was dying to try their Pistachio Espresso-Tini. Wow, was that drink delicious! It blended Ketel One Vodka, Mozart White Chocolate Liqueur, natural pistachio flavor, and fresh espresso. The coffee notes were not super prevalent, but the creaminess, nuttiness was the real highlight. It was a decadent way to end a delicious meal. After we settled the bill and headed downstairs, I noticed several bowls of after-dinner mints, which were a nice touch. From the relaxed atmosphere to the interesting and expansive menu, Moonstruck was a terrific option for our Asbury dinner experience.

Our server, Michael, provided by far the worst service we've ever received. He appeared to be under the influence of something, as he spent long periods simply standing around making odd faces while our table and several others waited and waited for him to acknowledge us. We were left wondering if anyone was going to take care of us. When my husband politely asked about our meal, Michael became rude instead of apologetic or helpful. The food itself had good flavor, but it arrived cold, like it was not served right away, which was disappointing. To end the meal, we ordered a cappuccino, but it was so poorly made that it tasted like nothing but warm milk. It was completely undrinkable. What makes this especially disappointing is that I've always loved Moonstruck. It's been one of my favorite restaurants because of its excellent food and outstanding service. If this is the level of service the new owners are willing to accept, I worry about the restaurant's future. I truly hope management addresses these issues because Moonstruck has always been top notch!

The sushi is fresh and tasty, we enjoyed the seared scallop appetizer. My sushi (Tiger roll) was magnificent. The Yuzu lobster roll could have had a bit less rice in the roll but was otherwise very enjoyable. The combination of fish in this roll paired very nicely together. Taka has a vast menu with many options from appetizers to specialty sushi options. They provide alcoholic and non alcoholic mocktails for those of us not interested in consuming liquor.....the mocktails are fantastic. The only thing that made me rate 4 instead of 5 stars was the staff needs a bit of work on serving. We ordered an appetizer and were also given two additional small plates since we were sharing this item. When we were done with the appetizer our specialty sushi plates were bought out and the same server left the three empty plates from the appetizers on the table instead of removing them. Dessert was absolutely decadent and moist (I omitted the whipped cream since I don't like it) but the shortcake was perfect without it. I look forward to returning to Taka and trying more items on the menu.
