Colorful Mexican bias-relief on the walls, large space, nice large booths to sit in, quiet even with many people inside, very good prices. Most of the clientele were Hispanic so I had high hopes. The service was very attentive. I ordered the Molcajete Asado Mixto which had steak, chicken, shrimp, sausage, cactus, onions, peppers, avocado and pieces of cheese, tortillas and salsa on the side, the most expensive dish on the menu. The waiter told me it was really spicy hot so I asked him to tone it down and he said he'd give me the salsa on the side. It turned out not to be hot at all, and the whole dish was rather bland even with the salsa, but a large portion. I also had black beans on the side, a smaller portion for the price. My dining partner had chicken mole with rice and beans, which he liked. I tasted it and it was decent. I wondered if I picked a different dish if I'd have liked it more, so I'd have to return and see. Wheelchair accessible. read more

First time ordering and highly disappointed. Ordered the chicken mole. Chicken was dry and overcooked then smothered in mole sauce. No amount of mole sauce would cover the stale chicken parts. This restaurant is located in the Harbor Freight plaza in Brick off of Hooper. The atmosphere is colorful, casual, and clean. The waitress first brought chips, salsa, and pico de gallo. Absolutely fresh and full of flavor. I ordered two dishes, Ques Fubdidi Con Bistec Y Nopales, which to me was a steak fajita with cheese and cactus. Very good indeed. The cactus was soft and flavorful. I also had a Mexican pork sandwich which was served on a fresh soft roll. Excellent again. The coffee was even perfect, flavorful, and smooth. The bill came to @ 24 bucks so considering I had two dishes, about $12 for lunch. Well worth it. They have a full dinner menu which ranges from around 13 to 18. I was very impressed with this place and recommend you try it. read more

This was my second time dining here, and it's easily one of the best Mexican restaurants in the area. Cielito Lindo is thoroughly authentic and lives up to its name: sitting at a table here almost feels like being at a restaurant in Mexico thanks to a vibrant atmosphere that's lovingly adorned with plenty of flair and decoration. The chips are tasty, served with an incredibly fresh pico de gallo as well as an addictive green salsa. I have a fondness for the spicy salsa as well. Surprisingly, the nacho appetizer elevates the tortilla chips to another level and tastes delicious in the process. For those second guessing ordering it since the chips are already complimentary, go ahead and get it. The chorizo appetizer is also quite excellent, served sizzling on a hot plate. I enjoyed every bite of one of their most popular entrees, the Cecina Ranchera which is seasoned to perfection and an incredibly large portion of beef served with not only rice, beans, and salad but also fresh flour tortillas. The barbacoa, or goat meat, was also great. Maybe not quite as up my alley admittedly as the Cecina Ranchera, but I enjoy being adventurous and this certainly fit the bill and tasted fresh. We went through multiple baskets of chips and salsa in a packed dining room last week, and that was my most enjoyable meal so far this month. My only feedback would be that it would make a major difference if the chips came hot out of the fryer, and it would be wonderful to have more dessert options. I'm not sure of the authenticity of fried ice cream, but it would be the perfect ending to an enjoyable meal. Cielto Lindo makes for an exemplary, hole-in-the-wall Mexican dining experience that outdoes any chain -- although with four total locations it's beginning to become a local chain in itself. read more

I was craving Mexican food, but was just meh about all the spots around. I found this place accidentally. I was going to go to Super Pollo, but I saw this gem. And to satisfy my cravings of Mexican food, I decided to give it a shot. Upon walking in, I felt like I was in a totally different world... like in a legit mexican house in Mexico. I was impressed by the entry way alone as it was decked out in familial pics. And inside is even more beautiful...or shall I saw, Lindo ;) (I crack myself up). Terra cotta roofing edged the walls to emulate traditional Mexican houses. There are plenty of seating. There's even a grande table with a "special" chair of where I assume a celebrant is to sit at. There are "windows" of paintings to show various cities in Mexico. The backside of the restaurant has a setup of a cantina. I went during the Christmas season, so there was a festive Christmas tree. The bathrooms are also very clean; two stalls per bathroom. And there is a faux grotto displaying the Blessed Virgin Mary; beautiful way to pay respect to the mother of our Savior, Lord Jesus Christ. The music is also tasteful. As for the food, I usually wait to review until I've eaten at said place +3x. But I'm happy w my experience, so I'll just review now and update later. I got bistec and chorizo taco and something that was like a chicken flauta. I didn't get bigger entres bc I had potroast slow-cooking at home. Needless to say, I still ate as if I was starving. The flautas were flautas. They were good, but the taste was def enhanced by the green and hot sauce. The chorizo and bistec tacos were delicious! Highly recommend! Also, ea table comes w chips and salsa. I always devour those. I will def update my review on the food next time. The waiter and waitress were pleasant and courteous. Their tortillas are awesome and loved the shrimp tacos. They are BYOB so we will be back to enjoy the fun decor inside. An absolutely welcome new restaurant in Brick; the land of chain food and retail. I've been here twice now, once for takeout and once to eat in, and both times I've been fairly impressed by both the quality and the portion sizes offered here. Right off the bat I knew I was at an authentic restaurant when I saw they sold proper barbacoa tacos (made with goat meat), served with a side of onion and cactus. Absolutely delicious, though there are the occasional bones to worry about, which is sorta expected with this type of taco. Yes, cheese and lettuce costs extra, though I urge anybody who's unfamiliar with authentic tacos to try them as-is first. The restaurant itself is honestly some of the most festive, well done interiors I've seen in recent memory. Extremely colorful and fun decor, though not gaudy - only thing missing is a nice bottle of beer or margarita. Thankfully, this place is BYOB, and they seem to have plenty of glassware in the kitchen for just this purpose, a plus. Dining in, you get one complimentary basket of chips and pico de gallo. Both the salsa it came with and the pico de gallo were delicious, though I did think that refills costing $2, with salsa refills being an additional $2, was kinda a bit much. For an appetizer, we ordered some sopes with chorizo, which were absolutely fantastic, and honestly could probably have been a meal by themselves. My mole enchiladas were also delicious (and massive!), more than enough food for even the hungriest of appetites. A great option in town for authentic Mexican fare, and one I'll be coming back to again and again! read more

Anyone that gives this place a 1 star rating should stay eating at chi chi's and any other Mexican chain they choose for their margarita and tacos. My husband and i stopped eating Mexican food about 4 years ago when we went to visit our son in el paso... we were ruined because what we thought was mexican food was not. Today, we decided to check this place out. We were not disappointed... everything was fresh, hot and flavorful... we finally found authentic Mexican food in this area. I picked this location because the decor looked fun, and authentic. That is probably the only thing I can say that was a positive. This is BYOB, which is fine if you want to save some money, but what is Mexican without a margarita? The service was horrible. The server came over once to deliver the food and bring our check. Never brought refills. It took her 15 minutes to bring the check. My chicken Mole was burnt. I'm pretty sure the chocolate was, because it had a bitter taste. The QuesoChorizo was burnt chorizo topped with grated cheese. Not queso at all. I'm not one to complain, If the food was good, I would have overlooked the bad service. Loved Cielito Lindo when they were open in Manasquan, nice to have one here in Brick. The menu hasn't changed which is a good thing, no need to change perfection! Everything on the menu is as authentic as it gets and equally delicious. Even the unique side garnishes they offer on all their dishes, Spanish onion, cactus, and radishes are delicious. I'm giving it one star only because I can't give 0 just had lunch there And my wife's fajitas were swimming in about a 1/2 an inch of grease and she couldn't eat hers. had we ever been checked on or someone comeback to the table to check on us they would have found that out earlier instead at the end when I asked for the check and said this food was not enabled it should be taking off my bill or may I speak to the manager the manager. The manager wouldn't talk to us just sent word with the server that its from The cheese. Again i requested to speak with them. Nope would not come out they refuse to take it off the bill I explained to the waitress that There are too many good restaurants of this type Around And we would never be back they just don't care their food is disgusting And management wont even come out to talk to you! I happily paid my bill and we left but they've lost 2 good customers forever I wouldn't recommend this for a dog. We both were sick the rest of the day. I usually give a detailed description of the food and service but not even going to waste my time with that. Stay away at all cost. Unless you like your food swimming in Greece and management that has no pride and hide fro. Customers. Maybe the 17 dollars was so important that they've lost making hundreds more. read more

We wanted to go out for Mexican food. Decided to try this new place after reading a couple of favorable reviews. It was fantastic! It you're looking for a basic taco, burrito, enchilada place, then this is not for you. The food is authentic Mexican and a great selection of dishes to choose from. They took some time to bring the food out which is fine with me since it's apparent that everything is cooked fresh with fresh ingredients. I have big appetite and was only able to eat half. This lovely little place has the best guacamole, better than mine. The tacos carnitas were simply delicious, complete with a side of roasted peppers and scallions, fresh lime wedges, and radishes. And so very reasonably priced. I could not eat all as the portions are very generous. Two meals for the price of one. Inside was very clean and nicely decorated.
