I brought my two kids - 6 and 8 years old - to this practice for a new patient intake and routine cleaning. I was charged $1400. I have BCBS of IL dental insurance (reputable, good coverage). The fact that the contracting with insurance and the leg work of insurance reimbursement is not handled by the office, but instead left to the patient, is in my opinion nothing short of a racket. I have not received reimbursement from my insurance and now it's my responsibility to call BCBS, sit on hold, wait for a reimbursement check. Hours of my time that should have been handled by the Grins administrative office. If you have money to flush down the toilet - this practice is great. If not - do not recommend. I will not be going back. read more

I had been dreading my son's first dental appointment since the day he was born (an exaggeration, of course, but not far off). Made an appointment with Dr. Suzy after reading the favorable reviews on Yelp. Prior to the actual appointment, Dr. Suzy came out and spent time inquiring about my son's hygiene habits and even offered proactive tips. I was floored at how well the actual appointment and cleaning went. Sure, the five minutes felt like an hour as I held my son down while he whimpered, but Dr. Suzy and the hygienist sang the entire time while my son's nanny and I cheered him on. Afterward, he was rewarded with a balloon and life was good again. The woman at the front desk was incredibly friendly as well- introduced herself. She also helped me verify my out-of-network dental insurance benefits. Personal responsibility goes a long way, people! read more

I usually never write bad reviews but it was quite ridiculous. We had a dental plan but when it lasped and my husband did not reinstate it. However, the woman at the front desk told me. After calling the insurance myself and being frustrated I said it was fine to go ahead with the cleaning. I had no idea that between a cleaning for 2 six year olds who never lost any teeth yet and xrays it came to $700. That's insane to charge people that much for less then an hours work. I think they should've gave me a heads up of the cost. If i would've known, we could've walked out. No wonder they are grinning so much. read more

Simply put, Dr. Suzy is a life saver! I took my 18-month old daughter in yesterday after a very bad fall and a very bloody mouth. I called the office to tell them we were coming in and they said Dr. Suzy wasn't expected back for an hour or so but I was welcome to wait in the office and they would do what they could to make her comfortable. We arrived at the office a few minutes later and they informed me they'd messaged Dr. Suzy and she was already on her way back to see us! I was a frazzled mess and they were so kind and patient with both of us. Dr. Suzy was super gentle and did the exam on my daughter very quickly. Fortunately, she didn't need stitches or other treatment so it was a very reassuring visit. Dr. Suzy is great because she knows what she's talking about but can also relate to a worried mom, because she has her own children. She gave very practical advice on pain relievers, soft food suggestions, etc. that would make my daughter more comfortable. My son, who is 4, is also a new patient there and really enjoyed his first visit for a cleaning last month. The staff is very kind and entertained him with a balloon while I had to do an emergency diaper change for my daughter at the end of my son's appointment. Basically, you get all the benefits of an expert dentist but with the quaint, comfortable atmosphere of a small town practice. Couldn't recommend more highly! read more

We started going to Grins on Green Bay based on a referral from another happy parent with similar aged kids. My 4 and 2 year olds both go to Grins and love Dr. Suzy. Dr. Suzy has helped my 4 yo stop sucking her thumb and also helped us through 2 different tooth injuries. The practice is extremely kid friendly, bright, happy, clean and considerate. Every member of the team is a pleasure to work with. Dr. Suzy is an amazing dentist with kids and great explaining everything clearly to parents too. Beware. I called to ask hour much they charge for a normal exam, cleaning, and flouride for a five year old without insurance. The lady would only give me a range between $200 and $350, refused to give me a specific price without first making an appointment. Ridiculous! read more

This is by far the best pediatric dental practice I have encountered. Dr Suzy is a delight, so kind and gentle - she makes visits actually enjoyable for kids. The entire staff at Grins on Greenbay is fantastic, and know how to make young children comfortable and at ease. I've taken my both my daughters there since their first check in (I think they were around 1 year), and they love it. I love that the equipment they use is the latest tech, so the appointments are so much faster and more efficient than I realized was possible...in fact, I switched over and now my husband and I go here too! They are super accommodating, the office is beautiful and clean, with a great play room for kids if ever waiting (which I never have), and the general demeanor of everyone is just super friendly. Dr Suzy is wonderful! I called with an emergency situation for my son who was in extreme pain and even though she wasn't our current family dentist, Dr Suzy fit him in the next day (our current dentist couldn't squeeze him in for a week....did I mention he was in pain!) We have been seeing Dr. Suzy for 4 years and have always had an amazing experience with her and her entire office. Recently, my 6 year old needed two teeth pulled (baby teeth that weren't coming out on their own, with adult teeth roaring in behind them) and I could not have been more impressed with Dr. Suzy during what could have been a very scary experience for a young child (and nervous Mom). She spent a lot of time explaining how she would simply give his teeth "a few wiggles" while she and her team began the process unbeknownst to my child. From "sparkly toothpaste" (local numbing agent) to "rinsing the teeth" (when she injected the numbing meds into the gums with a needle - my child had NO clue she did this), and "wiggling and squeezing" the teeth right out - my child was happy, calm and in great hands. I was also asked how I was doing, and reassured several times that my child was doing well. Thank you Dr. Suzy and staff for being so outstanding! read more

I got tired of waiting weeks for appointments and not having a relationship with any one of the 4-6 dentists my children would see. GRINS on Green Bay felt like home the moment we stepped inside - the kids were SO EXCITED to see their names written on the chalkboard wall "welcoming" them to their appointment. I was, immediately, greeted with a friendly smile and offered coffee or tea. While the kids chose a movie, Dr. Suzy sat with me and asked if I had any concerns or questions about their teeth and development. It was so pleasant to speak with her beforehand and be treated as a peer. Dr. Suzy is kind and approachable. Even though she found a cavity (or two), she didn't make the kids or me feel ashamed or like we are doing something terribly wrong. She was very positive, encouraging, and realistic. We have been going to Grins on Greenbay for a couple of years. Dr Suzy is so, so good with my kids. They scramble right up into the exam chair and cannot wait for their "favor bag" and balloon at the end of the visit. Allow me to be very clear--this experience was magical for my 4.5 year old daughter. She put on slippers, they had her name written on the board in chalk, they had stickers before and after the X-ray, they had her wearing cool sunglasses, holding a turtle ring with chocolate-flavored toothpaste, and then their was Dr. Suzy, like a page out of a Mister Rogers' story, singing rhymes, staying calm, and turning pediatric dentistry into a magical mystery tour, a Mother Goose Magic Schoolbus of tooth and gum care. My daughter came home and joyfully brushes her teeth. Loves the dentist. And I am one very happy woman. I have only written one other review...for a horrible root canal experience! We had a wonderful experience from start to finish. Lovely, kid-friendly office with easy parking, fun waiting area for the kids, every staff member was incredibly kind to the kids, and the dentist sat with me before the cleaning and walked me through caring for the kids' teeth and answering questions. The kids even got to pick out a video to watch during the cleaning. Dr. Suzy was incredibly thorough while also working quickly with the antsy kids and really had a talent for putting them at ease. The kids left with a tooth care kit, balloons and even a sugar-free lollipop and I received a folder with a nice handout of how to help care for their teeth.
