Sundays seem to be particularly problematic. If you want to be closed on Sundays, just close the business on Sundays, and we'll all keep it moving. But there is nothing more annoying than not being able to place an order with a business that says it is open. A big no-no. Otherwise, the food and the fried chicken is great. The biscuits and side offerings are wonderful! They changed their original chicken coating, which I thought was fabuous, but the honey crunch coating is delicious too.

The cashier whispered that he should say it is CBD-only flower to avoid getting anyone in trouble...yikes. Anyways, if you can temporarily ignore the total circus environment this place is in then you will experience the best fried chicken and biscuits I've ever had in my life. That's right- out of all of the myriad fried poultry and biscuits from sit down to drive through I've had in my 28 years, this gas station stuff is THE BEST. I've gone three days in a row now and I'm hooked. The thighs and legs are $1.79 ($1.75?) each and the breasts are $2.79 per. Each piece is crispy, crunchy, and hot yet super juicy! Nothing dry here ever. The barbecue sauce is a horrific pinkish red concoction of what must be some sort of depot barbecue sauce tainted with hot sauce and should be avoided at all costs. The biscuits come in honey butter coated regular flavor or glazed blueberry. I normally avoid biscuits and cornbread and the like in general because they always just seem to serve no purpose other than to dry my mouth out and crumble all over everything. These biscuits are DIVINE. They have a slightly crispy outer surface with not moist yet not at all dry interior and are covered in a most sinfully delicious honey butter glaze. They are absolutely ungodly good. The banana pudding in a nearby grab and go cooler is inexplicably $3.99 which is too expensive for a small container even thought it is a nice texture and taste owing to cream cheese in the ingredient list. The cake slices are large and for the same price aren't bad- not dry but not as moist as I'd like either although frosting isn't skimpy. The $1.99 cheesecake slices are to be forgotten. I wrestled with whether to let the cat out of the bag in sharing this gem in the ghetto, but it truly is worth all the business it gets and much more.

Then I got the sandwich, and I was like, actually, $17 is a more than fair price, LOL. For a second, I attempted to eat it with my hands, but its size made it an unwieldy experience. So I ate it with a knife and fork. And it was DELICIOUS. The sandwich came with a big piece of crispy fried chicken that the bun could barely contain. The chicken was fried fresh, so it was hot and juicy. In addition to being hot in temperature, it was hot spice-wise. It came with candied jalapeños, soy chili jam, pickles, and Sriracha. The spice was balanced well with some nice sweetness and a tasty kale slaw that added some brightness to the sandwich. Even the bun itself was delicious. The place is mainly a takeout spot, but there are a few tables if you want to dine in. The water is self-serve. There are cups and a sport cooler in front of the counter.

I pulled up the Chicken Ranch menu online and decided I would try them. It is a small establishment. Tables were clean. There is seating inside and two small tables outside for diners. The manager was explaining they make everything fresh and offered to answer any questions I had. I took a look at the specials then decided on a two piece crispy tenders meal. It came with a jalapeño corn muffin. It was 10 dollars and I chose a chocolate chip cookie with caramel and pecans in it because, why not. My chicken was delicious. I chose hot honey sauce because I was curious. It was so spicy and cleaned my sinuses right up. The sauce came on the side, thank goodness for that. The muffin was OK. It would have been better warmed. The cookie: sooooo good. Because I was being nice, I gave my kid a piece, but next time I will eat it in the car before I get home, like the pros do.

Excuse my digression but back to this place. 4 Stars because it tastes like FRESH OUT THE PRESSURE COOKER KFC. Even down to their coleslaw which was pretty tasty and reminiscent of KFC's slaw as well. The fries were fresh, unique and kinda sweet where the misses said they tasted like "donuts?" I specifically asked for all white meat with mashed potatoes/gravy and green beans as my two sides. The cashier went to the back, returned and said there would be an additional charge for all white meat. I agreed. I did not have a long wait for my food. When I got home, I found two large orders of mash potatoes/gravy and a mix of white and dark meat. 4 pieces of dark and two white. I was so angry because given I was the only one there and they cashier had made a point of checking the cost of an all white meat order, it felt intentional instead of a mistake. I will not be going to this Mr. Chicken again. Note: The meal might have been tasty, but it tasted like dust because of my disappointment and frustration.

I got the two piece catfish meal which usually comes with cole slaw and French fries. I upgraded the sides to fried cabbage and sweet potatoes. The fish was fried well. They were likely canned but I did appreciate that they were doctored up with seasonings and sugar. The fried cabbage was probably my favorite part of the meal. It was well seasoned and balanced. I could have had several more servings of that. The restaurant is primarily a pickup and go spot. It seems to be located inside of a former fish or meat market as there are large meat coolers across the entire space. There's no tables or chairs for dining in. The service was fast and friendly.
