I talked to multiple contractors - some who just didn't call back, a few who said they couldn't (wouldn't) build the fence I wanted, and frankly, a few that I just didn't like. Gerardo showed up, chatted with me about what I wanted, took measurements, and gave me a bid on the spot. I was moving into a house I was rehabbing and needed a portion of this fence done right away because I have a dog and he hustled to not only build the new portion I needed, but went out of his way to do some repairs on the existing fence to keep my dog safe and secure. He and the people working for him showed a lot of attention to detail, checked in with me often about the project to make sure it was coming along and looking as I expected, and every day at the end of the day the work site was clean and organized. I'm planning some plant installations and a new deck and Gerard's Landscaping is going to be my first call!

They told me that the market has changed and they need their customers to do some research. Then they gave me an arbutrary deadline to join a COMPLIMENTARY 10min call. The number of red flags in 1 message exchange. First of all, if you are in the field don't respond to the message or hire someone who can do it without getting upset that their customer do not know what they need.

We had block retaining walls erected, a play area created, a sprinkler system installed, decorative flower beds erected, a new stamped patio poured, landscape lighting installed, sod laid, and drainage created to create an everlasting back yard. The process was complicated by our general contractor, who didn't communicate and withheld payments to the subs. However, Jose and team pressed ahead and completed our job which has exceeded our expectations. Sunrise Landscape General Contractors did a great job of communicating timeframes and any challenges with us. Jose made sure that we understood what we were selecting and gave us advice when warranted. Jose has high expectations of his company and the work they do. We've been really impressed by this process. The construction crews are highly professional. They are thoughtful and careful with neighbors when dealing with moving equipment in and out, noise, and those kinds of things. They are great communicators and set really good expectations about project length and other details. When we asked for tweaks or changes midstream there was never any grousing or grumbling - they were very focused on making sure we were 100% happy. The guys are our crew were Colin, Max and Michael, and Patrick was the Construction Manager. In both cases, the finished projects were even more stunning than we expected. Top notch.

After talking on the phone we set up an appointment for her to come by and look at my yard. Michelle took stock of the space and suggested several ideas to see what I liked and what would fit in my budget. After this, she returned on a follow up appointment with drawings of the two potential layouts she had promised. To my surprise, she was so enthused she included a third option which turned out to be the one that my partner and I liked most. Next it was down to choosing materials and plants. Michelle provided the perfect amount of advice, giving me lots of different choices and making suggestions when I needed her input, and taking time to explain the cost differences on different paving stone options.
