We hired the Northwest Gardener to prep our backyard for a playset that we were going to install and to fix water pooling issues in a corner of our backyard. They did a fantastic job with setting up the cedar chip play area, relocating sprinklers and installing a french drain. While they were working on the above, I also asked if they could repurpose some of the material at hand to fix a gap at the bottom of our fence gate to prevent small animals from coming into our yard, and Diego did a great job fixing it! I had initially requested to have our entire yard done and had it scheduled, but as it got closer to the appointment, I had to change to just a specific problem area instead because of sudden money issues. The owner was very understanding and made the adjustment and holy hell! The work was AMAZING! We had a massive leaf pile and our shed area was a mess (some junk etc) and his crew came through and made a night and day difference. The pile and junk were gone, shed was tidy and I'm always happy when I see the yard because it looks awesome and hasn't been that clear in years. The amount came out to $900 and as far as I'm concerned, that is a great price to pay for the quality work they did. We walked the property, he took some photographs, and then I received a quote that was more than double of other companies for a general winter cleanup of a half an acre around my house. I am sure he would do a wonderful job, he seemed very professional, however, due to the expense, and it is not a particularly difficult job, I went with a lesser expensive company. read more

The techs that came out were friendly, professional, and wearing masks. They were able to get our very old inground sprinkler system functioning again. The Northwest Gardener, Inc. has taken care of our landscape projects for over 10 years. From annual irrigation system winterization to tree pruning (not just trimming around the tree to a smaller size) to overhauling our backyard from a big soggy mess that was left us by the builders to a wonderful sanctuary of gravel, stone tiles, water feature and raised flower beds for us people and the local urban wildlife. We have worked with two generations of Lundstroms and they are always friendly, professional and easy to work with. We are no landscape designers but still have lots of ideas need help implement. Doug and his son, Kyle along with their team members have beared with us throughout the years with numerous projects, big and small. As for cost, we have trusted them to always give us a fair deal. We first used the Northwest Gardener for our rental properties. Their work was always top notch as they trimmed plants & shrubs, weeded, and put down fresh beauty bark. The transformation was always amazing! We appreciated Doug's landscaping expertise at spotting any issues with diseased plants as well. This spring, we used Doug & his crew to lay a flagstone pathway at our own home leading from the front of the house down to the backyard. In one sense, this Gardener Guide is wonderful. If you want a list of plants that fit one certain formula, just look for that list. The guide is fairly easy to use in this sense, and that's why I gave it five stars; it seems like the authors spent a lot of time thinking about how to organize this book so you could find the list easily that you were looking after. read more
