Not the best grocery outlet compared to other ones I have shopped at. They had some nice sweet cherries at .99cents a lb. But besides that I felt they were very overpriced compared to other location's. What really upset me is the way they have the prices trick you into thinking something is much cheaper than it is. The dog food I thought was $20$ was actually $60 and when I asked them to consider matching the price they clearly had listed in the store they acted like I was ridiculous and the manager working was very rude. She couldn't even be nice about it. It's like she enjoyed denying my request. We looked at the price I spoke of and it was for a product not available and the product I did want neither had a price tag of its own but sat there with like 6 big bags above this price tag. Although the prices are very good at this market, the display and tags are tend to be mixed up so when you go to check out, the prices are different... usually higher. It's very frustrating, especially when they don't even say sorry and you show them the picture of the item and the tag. I love this Grocery Outlet, I have been to several and the quality, the customer service and selection is the best in Downey. Every Saturday I get my granddaughter and we make our routine to go to the dollar tree to get a present for her. Then we go to grocery outlet to get her mini watermelon, raspberries and whatever we can eat for lunch. When the associate Alex is working, she notices us before we notice her. She lights up when she sees my granddaughter and is so very very personable. Alex is like a ray of sunshine, she always is professional, efficient and quick. you will never see her ruffled or anything but just plain ol' Positive Energy and a pure delight! I was really prepared to go to two stores. They just happen to have everything that I needed such a score! I got all the delicious fruits off my list. A trick to making a spectacular fruit salad is my secret dressing . I will only share with my best friends on yelp . It's a mixture of honey , The zest of the lime and of course the juice . Then just pour it all over your fruit salad adds for the most delicious kick ! Hi I avoid shopping at your Downey store, because your carts are not working and if I find a somewhat decent cart it will stop working while shopping, I have pictures of people exchanging cart full of groceries because they stop working. I have put my whole strength on dragging a cart through the store and to the car. The Old Beer Drinker and the Checker: Let's Bunch Up in Line and See What Happens! Dropped in to pick up 2 apples. Went to stand in line. The six-feet-apart blue dots on the floor could not be more simple to follow and after all this time one would think that Grocery Outlet employees and its customers would be well versed in conforming to basic safety practices, yet a jumpy and nervous old white man, without a mask, and sporting a dry, ruddy, red face, with a swollen red-ball of a nose to top off his look, and, you guessed it, holding a pack of Budweiser beer, walks right up to within some two-feet of me in the line. I moved up, but he didn't take the hint. He followed me, only to attempt to bunch up to me again, as if he couldn't wait to get outside and swill his beer. I moved away from him again as I gestured to the blue circles on the floor. He took offense and became sarcastic. It went back and forth until I left, but nothing personal was said. I just don't know why some people insist upon encroaching upon another's physical space, especially after all we and the world have gone through in this still very vulnerable and fragile Covid environment; I have not been stricken with the virus and I do not intend to be, old man Thursday morning beer-tremors or not. Worse yet, the young female cashier demonstrated rank unprofessionalism by injecting herself into the situation. I was introduced to Grocery Outlet Bargain Market by a client one wonderful afternoon. It's like he was a spokesperson for the brand, super excited and enthusiastic about all the sale items. I was impressed by the items and prices at the location we were at (i.e. Halo Top ice cream, Quest Bars, etc.) and thought hey there is one right down the street from my house. So I looked them up online and signed up for their emails for discounts and coupons because I love a bargain. Since the introduction I've been trying to go at least once a week to see what they have stocked since most items are here until they sell out. Here are some of the bargains I've gotten: -4 pack of Halo Top ice cream for $4.99 -eggs for $0.69 -Quest Protein Powder for $14.99 -Quest Cereal Bars for $9.99 -limes 10 for $1.00 -Green Apple Perrier 12 pack for $1.99 -and so much more! I've come to this store for the reasonable price on half shelled pecans in the last isle to the left when you walk in as well as the whole raw almonds. I've also liked thier housewares selection to the far right. They have some seasonal stuff, toys, kitchenware, and as seen on T.V. stuff. I bought a nice red speckled cookie sheet with a matching 18 cupcake pan that was decently priced and has lasted a long time. read more

Perfect place to go after Porto's and it helps with recovering from food coma! A lot of items are on WOW pricing, which I learned it means the price is at least 50% off compare to the regular retail pricing! I got some Korean BBQ flavor potato chips for $1.99 each tube. My most precious find at this trip was the $0.99 / pack Oceanspray Craisin, blueberry and pomegranate snacks. It was about $2.49 + per pack at other stores. Without a second doubt, I grabbed 12 packs!! Store is clean and well stocked, produces are fresh, a good neighborhood store. I shop at Grocery Outlet daily. I came to this one on Friday, clean location, friendly employees. I bought 2 items. Really good prices. I acknowledge that they were nearing expiration date. Called Saturday to confirm that the items I picked up were still available. Asked the nice young man on the phone to hold a specific number of those items for me to pick up this week. He got my name and the number of each item. I come today, nothing is set aside. One item is still on the shelf, the other has almost tripled in price. Talked to owner, who very callously said it would be the current price, "Ok?" And she walked away. Not ok. I went to my car and spoke to the other owner on the phone and he said it's against his policy to hold items. Fine, but I just drove a good distance because apparently that policy was not shared with your team. This location lost a customer over 2 individual boxes of an item. I bought 7 bags of almonds here and all of them was expired as soon I was notified I tried to returned but the owner April was really rude. She asked me for the receipt but unfortunately this was in my bag trash broken. Before, she told me how she knows if I bought them there, but after I showed the receipt she told me more excuses. I was very frustrated because she doesn't help me and stole my money . She doesn't care about her customers and that is really stupid because if we don't buy there for sure her Bussines is going to closed soon. I will never back there again. This is a great place if you need something fast, get in & out not busy or packed, lots of parking & no long wait lines. Just convenient for someone on the go. You'd b surprised but they have good specials. Now I am NOT a fan of Mexican, cheap type markets bc of quality of product but overall, fresh is what I noticed. They don't have every brand in stock. It's very limited BUT they do have organic & natural products. This is NOT whole foods, TJ's or Sprouts it's Grocery Outlet (that should say enough). But it is clean, stocked & vegetables, fruits, breads, chips, like a market but smaller version. Kind of reminds me of "smart in final" type store but smaller. Name brand stuff, cheap. I like that they always have plenty of new finds to try at low prices. I would say most of their items are offered cheaper than most places. This place is the Ross of grocery shopping. You can't go in there thinking that you'll get everything on your grocery shopping list like you would at other grocery stores. This place is for food most supermarkets no longer want. For example, Food with Christmas decorations on it, food nearing expiration date, or food that they might have too much of and didn't sell. Now unlike Ross, this location is very clean. Everything is organized and in its place. They have really good deals on certain items. I love coming here. The reason I came to this location was because my mother had a 20% off coupon. In order to use the coupon she had to shop with a friend. I'm glad she told me about this place. I love coming here now. I still shop at my normal grocery store, but if I'm ever looking for deals on different products and I'm in the area then I'll stop by here. read more

I would like to start off by saying that I love Grocery Outlet and have been coming here since they first opened. But recently I've been noticing that their service is just awful. I went in today and while I was waiting in line a sweet elderly lady was in front of me getting her items scanned. She realizes that the register woman Renetta stopped bagging her items and she kindly asked her if she can bag what was left. Renetta responded to her in the rudest tone which was not at all necessary. Everyone has bad days but that does not mean you should throw your frustration at your customers! This is a shout out for my buddy Ephram, I think I spelled it right. Last night my friend & I went into Grocery Outlet on Firestone in Downey, to buy 44 cases of water for the First Responders. We had 3 carts full from the bottom to the top and cleaned out their water section. He loaded every single cart without any help or scowl and helped us wheel it to the front. I go to the grocery outlet frequently usually the ladies are so accommodating and so nice. On this occasion I went into take advantage of the spaghetti sauce sale this week. Which included buying 2 getting one free. Well I went to the register and grab the wrong sauce for that offer. I asked if they could honor the sale since the male clerk said there were any left. I was told no they could not... which was fine. When I got into my car I looked at the email I recieved and it did not specify the type. Picture included. So I went back to the store and returned the sauce I got and grab the right sauce which they had plenty of. I confronted the clerk and told him .. Ya now you informed me there weren't any of the sale sauce left. Instead what you should have said is ma'am I don't feel like going to the back and checking for you.the clerk then informed me that they pulled some from the back and that is why they have more now. Which was a lie because it was the same stock they had when I was there ten minutes before. I told him that was horrible customer service...Npt only did you just lie to me you also confirmed that you were too lazy to check on the offer. I like coming to this store for the most part because prices are good. My complain is about the rude employees. I had a young cashier, she was ringing everything fast without looking and she started to get items from the other person behind me and when I tell her that is not my stuff she sarcastically says that's why there are dividers. The person behind me was my mother an elderly person. The cashier could of paid attention and ask all one bill or separate it's not that hard. These are the little things that make or break it for me. I will most likely take my business elsewhere.
